The headline story is one everyone in the loyalty world is talking about. American Airlines and World of Hyatt are officially ending their enhanced partnership, and Hyatt is immediately jumping into bed with Delta Sky Miles. It's a full-on loyalty divorce and remarriage, all in the same news cycle. Here's what you need to know about the breakup first. American and Hyatt launched their partnership back in 2019, and at its peak it offered dual earning. You could earn miles on Hyatt stays and Hyatt points on American flights. That reciprocal earning was already cut at the end of 2024, and now the whole enhanced

2:10partnership is winding down. The key dates to remember. You need to link your A-Advantage and World of Hyatt accounts by the 15th of November if you want to keep earning cross-programmed rewards. Hyatt members can continue earning A-Advantage awards through milestone rewards through the 31st of December, 2026. A-Advantage members can earn World of Hyatt awards through loyalty point rewards through the 28th of February, 2027. The biggest practical loss here is the unofficial but very real annual status fast track challenges between the two programs. Those are going away, and that's genuinely a shame. Tip. If your accounts aren't already linked, go do that today. Don't wait until November. It takes two minutes and preserves every earning opportunity you have left. Now, enter Delta and Hyatt. Within hours of the American breakup announcement, Delta Sky Miles and World of Hyatt unveiled

3:15a brand new long-term strategic partnership. The headline feature is dual earning. Delta Medallion members will earn Hyatt points on qualifying Hyatt stays, and World of Hyatt elites will earn Sky Miles on qualifying Delta flights. That's on top of their normal program earnings. The partnership launches in the coming months, and we're told there will be additional perks, exclusive experiences, and more integration over time. The verdict? If you're a Hyatt loyalist who also flies Delta regularly, this is great news. World of Hyatt points are worth around 1.65 cents each, according to current valuations. That's roughly double a Marriott Bonvoy point. Stacking those with Sky Miles on the same stay or flight is genuinely valuable. Watch this space as earn rates and status benefits get announced. Next up, a credit card offer worth highlighting.

4:15The Capital One Venture card has added a $300 hotel credit to its 75,000 mile sign-up bonus. So you now get 75,000 miles after spending $4,000 in three months plus a one-time $300 lodging credit to use within your first year. That's a strong combined offer. Next note, if you received a Venture X bonus in the past 48 months, you're not eligible for this one. You can grab the card using the link in the show notes, moving on to hotel promotions. Marriott Bonvoy has opened registration for its new fall promo running from the 22nd of September through the 22nd of November, 2026. You can earn 1,500 bonus points on paid stays of two or more nights, and an additional 3,000 bonus points if that stay is at a resort. So up to 4,500 bonus points total. Registration is required before your first eligible stay, and it closes on the 13th of November.

5:19Award stays don't qualify, and you need to have points, not airline miles, selected as your earning preference. At a valuation of around 0.7 cents per point, this works out to about $10.50 per hotel stay, or $33 per resort stay. It's not exactly going to change your life, but it's free money. Register now and forget about it. Now here's one for the One World Emerald crowd. Iberia has officially opened its brand new Emerald Lounge, Soroya, at Madrid, Barajas Airport, as of 10th of September. This lounge is exclusively for One World Emerald members, meaning it's the top tier. It's located in the Shengen area next to the existing Iberia Dali Lounge, serving flights from Terminal 4 boarding areas H, J, K, and M. It features proper cocktails from bartenders, barista coffee, and alacart menu alongside a buffet, and private rest areas.

6:22It's opened daily from 5.30 in the morning until 11 at night. This is a fantastic investment in the One World Emerald product. Think of it like Finair's Platinum Wing in Helsinki, a dedicated premium space that isn't tied to a specific class of service. If you're routing through Madrid as an Emerald member, this is now a very compelling reason to connect there. Also worth flagging for frequent American Airlines flyers, the City Advantage Executive World Legend Mastercard currently has a limited time welcome bonus of 125,000 advantage miles, after spending $15,000 within the first five months. The card carries a $695 annual fee, but it includes a full admiral's club membership, which would otherwise cost over $1,000 on its own, plus up to 40,000 bonus loyalty points per year just for being a card holder, priority services, free checked bags for up to eight travel companions, and a suite of statement credits.

7:27If you're a frequent American flyer and you'd otherwise buy an admiral's club membership, this card basically pays for itself. You can find the link to apply in the show notes. A quick one on hotel booking strategy, a reminder that booking hotels directly is almost always better for loyalty members. You get easier access to elite benefits, better customer service when things go wrong, and proper points earning. Google has acknowledged that European Union regulations are currently pushing Expedia and booking.com ahead of hotel websites and search results, which means you may need to go directly to the hotel or airline website rather than trusting the first result you see. And finally, something to keep an eye on for Austin travelers. Southwest Airlines is planning two lounges at Austin's airport. One of those lounges, being built to chase sapphire standards, could eventually become a chase sapphire lounge once Southwest's gates move to a new concourse.
