Triple M Robby and Carly, Monday morning, which means another wash up of the commitment ceremony in Married at first sight.
Danny was in amongst it and he joins us right now to give us the full lowdown. How are you mate?
Good morning, good morning. Yeah, I'm doing okay. How are you both?
Good. Before I get to that big moment, I want to talk about a little moment that almost went unnoticed.
So there was a moment where Gia was kind of going back and forth with you guys.
And then you mentioned to her, you've lied, you've lied about me.
And then she kind of says, yeah, but we're moving on.
Was that an active emission? I feel like no one really acknowledged that.
Well, like I've seen like, obviously she let it slip in that moment, you know what I mean?
The truth always prevails. So yeah, but I'll fit a few people message me saying they picked up on it as well.
But yeah, there you go.
So would you take that as an active emission?
Well, I've known the whole way along anyway, do you know what I mean?
Yeah, I would, but you'd have to ask her yourself.
She probably tried backtrack on it a little bit because that's Gia.
That's the, you know, that's what she's all about.
But at the end of the day, she'd met her on National TV.
Does that mean there was some sort of combo behind the scenes that we didn't see then?
With media, I've never had a conversation behind the scene.
Interesting. Well, I just think in that moment, she just slipped up.
You know, you mean the pressure was, I don't know, she just let it slip.
Yeah, I didn't even really notice that in the moment, to be honest,
there was only watching it back that I saw it.
Oh, I definitely picked up on it.
Let's talk about the moment that everyone picked up.
The moment where Beck drops the album and tells you that she loves you,
what exactly was going through your head in that moment?
To be honest, like I spoke to this about this with one of my mates.
And I said like nine times out of 10 when a woman tells you she loves you,
like you can see it coming because they'll like give you a little hint
until they'll sort of bring it into conversations or whatever.
Where they've never hinted, and she never done nothing like that.
And it's just on me.
So I was a bit shocked, to be honest, but well, I wasn't that shocked
because it's me, you know what I mean?
Okay, Debbie.
Okay.
Well, I think I think what made it awkward though was your response.
Obviously you were caught off guard, and that was pretty obvious.
And then you weren't saying it back.
But then later on when you were kind of doing your piece to camera,
you sounded like you were almost annoyed about the way she did it.
No, I definitely wasn't.
Obviously, this is married at first,
so they can make things look a bit more dramatic than what they were.
I'm just obviously, they just stick the camera in my face,
and that's all they kept asking me about was so long.
And the commitment to ceremonies,
a lot of them have filmed a lot one, two in the morning, you're finishing up.
So you're just not really in the mood for it.
I was like, I wasn't annoyed at the way she said it.
No, but it was more just like maths can be a drain and process
at the best of times, you know?
So yeah, that was probably.
Wait, they're filmed at one and two in the morning
because I did see you briefly look at your watch.
Yeah, so what happens is like, I asked them this because I,
you know, you'd start filming on commitment to many days
say 9, 10 in the morning.
Like you film, you get in redies and you good vibes.
And then you'll be separated the whole day.
Your partners will all be separated.
So you can't like trying like getting each other's ears.
If you've had a bad week to, you know, say,
our list day or whatever, you separate the whole day.
And then what did you get to the warehouse where you film?
I say, two, three in the afternoon, then you'll have some food.
And the girls are all up one end and the boys are up the other end.
And then, yeah, you're walking at about six or seven o'clock
at night because it has to be dark to set the mood.
That's what production tell you.
And then by the time you've filmed and had a break and everything,
you're wrapping up and say, two, three in a...
Wow, that's interesting.
So when you're in the...
I'll tell you a funny story about that as well, right?
So with Sam and Chris, for the first few weeks,
they were on the experiment.
Chris was with the girls and Sam was with the boys
because they just separate them in different groups.
And after about three or four weeks, Sam came and sat with us.
And Chris went down to the girls, they swapped them over
because they were just like, our production were like,
whatever, we'll just swap them over.
And Sam's sitting with us, boys, for like an hour.
We used to just play like Uno, just have a laugh.
But all the boys got on where at the other end,
the girls would be half-eyed.
But that's what we'd have to get.
I need to see that.
And we sat there and Sam goes, boys, I can't believe this.
And we're like, what?
And he goes, this is just a breath of fresh air.
He says, you bunch.
You just haven't laughed yet in a long time.
You know, he's on the last three, four weeks down
and sitting at the other end with the girls.
It's been an absolute nightmare.
So I want to sit with you boys every week.
I love that.
I'm kind of being sorry for you.
That's funny.
I was interested to know from something you mentioned.
So you don't see Beck all day.
So you know, when we're watching on TV
and it looks like you get ready together
and then you get an Uber or the car there or whatever,
is that car ride actually filmed that day?
Then, or is that filmed another time?
Because you don't see each other.
But we, you don't even go in the car together
to the dinner parties you do,
but not to the community ceremonies night.
Oh, go chat.
Oh, go chat.
And the boys go to, oh, so for the dinner parties,
yeah, that's on the day.
You go dinner parties, yeah, but for the community ceremonies,
no, you go separately.
I want to talk to any about that moment that shocked everyone.
And it was so funny because they kept panning to you
and your face just kept looking more and more shocked.
And that was the moment where we found out
there were some serious cracks in Philip and Stellar's relationship.
Were you caught off guard or was there anything
that we didn't see as viewers?
Because they look like they were happy couples
until all this stuff come out last night.
Yeah, I think it caught everyone off guard
because from that of Philip that were the strongest couple.
So we all looked up to Philip and Stellar like,
you'd even want to turn around to them guys for advice
because they were doing the best in the experiment.
So you'd like, yeah, definitely four people off guard, 100%.
Hey, man, I saw on the socials the other day
that it was Gia's birthday party.
Beck was along.
Were you over there as well, mate?
Did you get an invite?
I didn't get an invite.
Yeah, I don't know why Gia doesn't like me.
I thought we could become best mates, right?
Obviously, Gia doesn't want to do that.
But yeah, but Beck went along with shadowing time.
Did that surprise you seeing Beck show up at Gia's birthday party?
Well, you're going to have to watch the end of the experiment.
They might end up being best mates.
Oh, my case.
Some potential things.
That's good for you.
Don't go, no.
This season's got a bit of everything.
You never know what to expect.
Absolutely.
And just quickly, Denny, I want to mention
Mel Schilling's diagnosis.
Obviously, as a viewer, it was very, very shocking and sad
to see, I could imagine, you know,
for the cast that would have been even sadder to hear.
Yeah, I'm devastated by that news.
Yeah, no, Mel was definitely my favourite.
I'm not just saying that.
She was, she's so nice.
Yeah, I'm devastated news.
My force and my prayers go out to her and her family.
And yeah, there's already too much I could say.
I just, I hope for a miracle.
I hope and I pray for a miracle.
She's a beautiful lady with beautiful soul.
And yeah, I saw what I could say, really.
But on my force.
Really well said there mate.
Really well said indeed.
One more question for you as well.
I was talking to you the other week and I was interested to know
about the show sort of debuting in Britain.
And whether your family and everything had seen it,
have you got much more info on that?
Mate, have you been getting a lot of texts from home?
I think it is.
My mum just sends a lot.
My mum just sends random messages to the group chat.
A lot of the other day, she just sent.
She just sent to the group to a level called the family group chat.
She just sends.
David is lovely.
I love that.
It's been shot.
It's been shot at it.
Then it's a David.
And he's like, oh mate, that's amazing, all these.
I just get a little random messages like that.
My mum doesn't say too much over message.
She's more of a face time type of woman.
But I'm enjoying the little just like,
she sends me just little one line is about the show.
But that was a funny one, yeah.
Oh nice.
Well, hopefully maybe we will see you drop an album
and not leave back hanging in the future.
I guess we'll have to wait and see how that pans out.
But thanks for joining us, Danny.
Thanks so much guys.
Have a great day.
