The Dude Grows Show — If Your Plants Get Sick, Do This Before Anything Else. Machine-transcribed; use the interactive transcript above to jump the player to any line.
Today on Dude Groce Show, Diagnos scene, Sick Plants, what's your process when something starts growing wrong? Was it a past? Was it environmental? Are you not fit enough too much? Your ratios are off. Let's get into it, Scotty. Dude Groce is for educational and entertainment purposes only. All her content is legal and applies with YouTube community guidelines. So there, yeah. Yeah, I mean, there's only what, 17 essential nutrients, but it ain't all about whether they're there or not. Whether they're about the whether they're in your plant or not. Let's get into it. Let's do it, man. Who says let's get into it? Is that me or you? Well, we got to talk about how the cannabis seed ban trending right now might start with your mother. Why doesn't that be personal like that? That was me, man, because they write the laws, all right? Dude, the way they wrote, write this law, wrote this law. This is something I put over on realdgc.com. Tonya, there's there are loopholes to be had here. Dude, all right.
All right. Don't forget, you guys need more dude Groce show last Wednesday. We had a great time on our live. We go live every Wednesday, 420 mountain time at realdgc.com, 420-tv. Anybody come on over, be part of that show, be part of the live chat, help create the show. We talked about flushing to flush or not to flush. We check out some awesome dank nugs. We also talked about, you know, where to pick up some of the best gear in all your THA needs, man. I heard you guys talking before we started the show. Is it, is it fair to say skip the disco? Was Banner severely just appointed? I don't know, Banner, decent disco weed when you go. Oh, I don't know. I don't know. Come on. I won recently because I had some like rewards. So it's kind of like some free, free product. Yeah. And I got a little excited because I saw that they had AJ Sour Diesel. I'm like, oh yeah, no, we talked about this. Did you talk about it? Yeah, and it was not so good. And that was tasted like dirt and it was, it tastes like dirt. Yeah, it's like soil, like not. It just, it wasn't, I was not impressed.
But the other one was from Boulder, Bill. And that was delicious and good. So that one, no, hit or miss is the answer. Okay, it's a little Boulder, Bill. I think of Boulder, you know, I think just, there's, you compete on price, you compete on quality. Boulder is snooty. You know, if you're going to throw a name like Boulder on there, I don't think you're trying to make a cheap product. That would imagine you're trying to make it. Well, you got a lot of people with money. So that's what I'm saying. Yeah, they don't mind spending extra, but it's got to be good. Yeah. And it was good. It was good. It was really good. It was, or what was it? It was a jet fuel gelato TK and triangle, a flower. Flower. And it was actually tasty. It was good. It was cured correctly. It was a little on the dry side. Of course. And it was, it was hard nug as you would say. I'm not very much lumber. Hey, Granbo, you worked at a commercial place. Why do you think it's all hard nug that comes out of there? Is it just the way they grow a lot of plants really close to the light or something?
And strain selection, you know, they're trying to get those denser. The denser it is, the more it weighs, the more square footage. It's all square footage. We think of plant count. They think of square footage. Yeah, we're just talking about that. And I see a ghost. What is this? I got a, I got a canarette Chris. I got a friend. Say what's up, man. Hell yeah, we got the studio audience today, man. I'll pull it back to us to if you guys do want to catch that un-the-sensor in the live ones they show it was re-broadcast. If you guys can find us over on Spotify, shout out. They let us be who we want to be. Uh, yes. So before we hop into this, let's talk about quick streak. Grow a streak. Craig, what's happening in your gross, gotty? Jerry, is any updates this week? Uh, you know, I got really high a couple of days ago and decided I was going to, uh, going install the far red lights. I was playing, I did something on the outside, the par, the 730 nanometers. And man, I know they do it with the Emerson effect, where you had a couple of them with far red and deep red and they'd get a little bit more bang for the buck
with the photosynthetic efficiency, whatever. I just wanted to be able to put the plants to sleep. Remember we talked about that? Was it you put it on for 15 minutes at lights out and a change? What did you do? I was like, what? I just, where from? I have questions, details like what type of like are you getting? What bars? What did you get there? LED bars. I got to admit somebody from Alibaba sent them to me about four years ago. And then I decided, what's today, man? Days and days go on and then suddenly without warning, there's change. You don't change. All right. I get it. You're using, you're using more than what's in your, the new ion primes from ACI because they're not having, they're not trying to put so much far red that they're using it for the put them to sleep effect, if you will. I'm going to be honest with you. I'm a letter writer over here. I'm going to write them a letter and talk to them. All I got to do is put that on a separate channel on the next one and then have it so they can turn on separately because I don't think you need a ton. I know I did some research.
You don't need a ton of far red light to flip that. I know from state. I've talked to them about that. That's where it does get tricky with price points and different channels. I mean, they'd like the tech guy over there at ACI. And he wants it. He wants it. He wants it. He wants a channel for a veg, some more blue here, all this. But then it's like figuring out what the consumer, because there are companies that do that, but they're a bit more expensive. So yeah, keep us updated on curious how it works out for you. Yeah, for about 100 bucks, you can get a UVB light and play around with that kind of stuff. For 100 bucks, you can get a far red light. These are just supplemental spectrum. So it's not hard to just find a separate what we're talking about. You know, outside of these par ranges and playing with them, I just hung one up. I had just this bar light. I hung it on. So it's just hitting one side of the grow. It's going to basically hit three plants really heavy. So let me know. Can you see this link I threw in here from solar cure? Because we've been talking about this for a bit. But if you want UVB, typically you want it from fluorescent.
It's the most affordable way to do it. ManifLED has a UVB LED. I think that's still kind of out. But what do you want to do here, Scott? Do you contain pigs? We can picture violins. We can darken wood. But for real, this company makes UVB fluorescent bulbs. Like TAs, I think maybe T5s. They have a little link there for cannabis. If you click it, Grimbo is going to take you right to a nug. So maybe you don't want to. But that's a good option to add UVB. Still for fluorescent tubes affordable. So check those out as well. Hey, dude, it's funny you say that. I was doing a whole bunch of research for the old Scotty real 420. My alter ego. And no, it's actually the same person. I just try to sound intelligent. Man, I try to stay on the point. We did one on UV, though. A far red and UV. But man, this is the bulb that I found. This is the only one I found that actually gave you actually the amount of light from different heights. And so this is the Arcadia T5 UVB bulb.
And it's 14% UVB. And I don't know if you can say, you know, guys just have some fun. If you're interested in UV, you can go down the rabbit hole. This one's UVB 14%. They've got another one. And I guess they're for different types of reptiles. It's different amounts of UVA and B. They're super interesting. So if you want to go down the rabbit hole, this one of them has more like mid UVB. And then the other one is like into the 280s. Really, yeah, what's up, better? Do you need, can you use those for under canopy lighting? Or they got to be on top? I bet you on top. I don't know. Never used them. And I know you won't want to use it. On under you and one using an under canopy. I don't want to hit your prime your prime bud spots. But this one was the only one that if you go to their website, I found that it gave you a bunch of legit information that you could use to understand mounting height, the amount of light that's hitting the canopy at certain distances. Yeah, their website's really good, Granbynah.
Caliass. Chewie. Nice. Anyway. Good stuff. So I'm before the rabbit hole with that, brother. All right, we're about to hop in a sick plant rabbit hole first. Guys, for shopping for your grow, we want DTC bedded gear used by us, used by the DTC, and get all the deals. Real DTC.com forward slash deals. That's where our coupon codes are listed. That's where a few choice sponsors, like real growers, very choice. Yeah. You can get your code and you can get hooked up for your grow. Real DTC.com forward slash deals, get yourself the coupon codes. All right, let's do this. How do you diagnose a sick plant? Now, you're saying a sick plant that can be sick from anything, bugs, environment, food, just like some green thumb. I'll give you an example. I had some solo cups that I kind of just left in there too long. And you can see they start yellowing. Is it nutrient efficiency? Is it a root issue? Is it a plant issue? Yes, yes, yes.
Is it a watering issue? You know what I mean? There's all these things and everybody wants to just get locked in on nutrients, you know? It must be nutrients. I mean, or buy something and feed it. Yes, go down the Reddit. Is Reddit the, that's the biggest rabbit hole now for stuff, I think, right? Reddit rabbit hole of recommendations. But some things are definitely telltale when you look at leaves. Nutrient deficiencies are harder than pests. You know, you can, like we all, if we look at a plant and you see those little pinholes, you're like spider-myx, dude, you got spider-myx. I completely, super, I'm sorry to diagnose something like spider-myx. Some nutrient deficiencies and we're dealing different things are harder to diagnose. Yeah. Nutrient deficiencies is easy to diagnose. You just, I mean, they do have plenty of charts out there. I think me and Kat made one and put it over on realdgc.com. But there's definitely a telltale. If you've got nitrogen deficiency, it's going to be light. If you've got calcium deficiency, you're going to see those necrotic spots. Now, magnesium is when it looks too toned.
It's interbanochlorosis. Yeah, but I show this chart, grandma. Yeah, do we have it? Come on, look, that is, there's tons of clues on there. Nitrogen's light color. You can't make chlorophyll. Like I said, some of it looks pretty similar. Some of them are like a per scratch. You've got a little purple stems, you know, you've got phosphorus issues. Calcium, those necrotic spots, I mean, they're very clear. A lot of these are. Yeah. Yeah. Well, what I would, I know being as I've consult a lot of growers of the growth stores, multiple nutrient lines. And the first thing I ask about is pH, what will I be like? Are you using microbes? Is your pH good? Is your nutrient, if you're using a bottled nutrient that you bought from a store somewhere, technically, you should be good. That you should have all your base 17 macros or whatever. Everything your plant needs covered, as long as it's able to access it through the ripe pH. And then if all that goes together, man, you've just said, hold on. Deal. At the end, if they can access it, man.
At the right pH, that's the whole crux of it. Yes. And well, that's why I said I'll also ask about microbes, because if they tell me they're not collating with the microbe, such a shout out to recharge, then that's going to help me eliminate some of point in the finger at pH. You know, they do a lot of that work. If you listen to the show, you know, means daddy talk all the time. We don't pH anymore. I don't have a good starting set point with our water. Microbes do the rest of the work. But that also tells me, if they're still having the issues, I might look at the root zone and go to like, what about root aethids? Now I'm going to think about what type of pests could be affecting if everything else seems to be on point, right? Yeah, there's what you call the methodology or some steps. So first thing you got to look at is your foliage, right? Oh, it looks okay. What am I identifying? All right. Is it a deficiency? And why is that happening now? Let me check my pH. Probably to go and water the plant and just test the runoff pH with, you know, a little $10 pH test kit.
You know, it's a little like, do you know the best practice for that? Isn't there? I mean, I'm putting you on the spot here, but you've got to get a certain amount of runoff. You can't just take the first, you know, a little bit out. I believe I don't know if it's a 10% rule, but when you're doing a test to get a window of what your root zone and rises for your looks like, I believe you have to get X amount of runoff. So it's not too concentrated. And I never even done runoff tests because I haven't had to. But go ahead. But it's easy. Yes. And by the way, you just smoke weeding. You do it like in the beginning and then the middle and the end. And then you figure it out by the end. That's all I do my runoff test. No, but seriously, I'll put a whole bunch of just plain pH neutral water through the system. I'll let it run out. And I'll see. I've been surprised one time. My plants, I had that harvest where I was like, not my harvest. I put plants in the buckets. It's like, what's going on here, man? And when I looked at the soil, the soil was so hot. It was coming out off like over 2000 Mars for a million on the pen. I've had the same.
And I've had the pH and the parts per million be high or off for low but yet my plant still looks pretty damn good. So I'm on the fence. I'm not saying runoff test arc accurate. Make sure you're doing it properly. Search the exact metheoprocess. It will do in the runoff test. You can also do a slurry test, which is taking some of your soil, pouring pH neutral water on it, shaking it up, letting it settle. And then just taking that stuff. Again. So where do I get some of that soil? Because for me, I am my five gals and canacoco are just solid. You know, I can maybe scrape a little soil off the top of the surface. Am I supposed to take it out of the pot? Yeah, take some of that. You know what? I'm going to take some roots from it too at that point and stress the mofo. Yep. The gas chromatograph is probably going to be good for you. Say something about that, man, huh? I don't know. I mean, you're going to have to. The runoff test is legit, man, because you just, yeah, you get them a good, if you're given, if you're feeding a bunch anyway, you always, they're not always, but occasionally want to soak the plant,
let a little bit runoff out of the plant anyway, you know? You're definitely, I slack at that. You are supposed to get runoff when you are, you know? And it used to be nutrient companies definitely wanted to tell you that. You're using more. I don't find it necessary with, again, I believe it depends on the quality of your nutrient. Cana is known to be a very clean nutrient. When I talk to Chris over at Cana about this, he's like, dude, the best practice is art. He gets them on off for sure, but not everybody does that. And I get it. You get a water to the thick quite a bit, but maybe if I get to that point, I don't have to water every day. I was with him. I added doing like a 10, maybe every seven, 10 days, I will water till runoff and it just goes back into the reservoir for the real buckets, but I do like it. It's like washing, you know, washing some of the old stuff out and just sending everything back to balance. Thanks for posting this on realddc.com. We get producers over there and anybody that helps us with great comments. An old man grows brings up another point here with the sick plants.
I've been growing for five years now. One of my most valuable lessons early on was about mobile and stationary or immobile nutrients. Yeah, there you go. Brown spots on my lower leaves. I was under the impression that my Fox Foundation Ocean Forest had enough nutrients to carry an auto flower plant to harvest. I was wrong. I keep worrying about pH and all that. Because in reality, I just needed to give them some nutrients with nitrogen. After a while, and some not too pretty plants, I finally figured it out. The upper part of the plant will pull nitrogen from the lower leaves. And Grandma, I did pull this mobile first immobile nutrients chart and it's right, man. Here could be some nitrogen's mobile, right? It's going to pull from your older leaves. It needs to help the newer growth on the top of the plant. And that's why you can withhold nutrients. We're going to talk about too flush or not too flush. That is why you can still withhold a bunch of nitrogen. It's still end up with green buds because it can move from the leaves. I assume you can move from the stems and the roots into the buds.
And that's why you'll see those burnt tips with too much nitrogen because it's so mobile that it pushes out until it hits the thing and starts rupturing cells at the tips. What? Got another nice cram. Cana chef 96. When it comes to sick plants, I'm in my grow daily. I'm inspecting everything. As soon as I see something, I start researching what multiple things it might be and stop troubleshooting from there. Once I see an arrow down or if I can't, I always turn to my brothers and sisters in the DGC. And that includes not only here, but the guys from the stash and jugbiel. Just write on the network of people. That's a great, you know, there is in 2026. It's not like the old days of the overgrow forums. You're going to get a lot of good help. Special on realddc.com. It's free to sign up there. I know, yeah. Cana chef says three feet higher than the rest of the room, folks. Trying to think, Graham, but if we walked into my room, and there was a plant that looked like crap or a canarada crisis here. I'm walking into canarada crisis room. Plant that look like crap. First questions I'm going to ask are, are they, are you feeding them?
Are they, you know, actually, are they drinking? How often is first thing is drinking? Are they dry? How often are you feeding them? And how much are they drinking? Because that tells you how long have you been going? I've like never walked into a room in like my room. And then everything looks like, it's usually a process to get to everything looks like crap, right? Like you're missing something too. Like, are you not paying attention? I'm just saying that if you walk into somebody's room, first thing I'm going to ask is, are they drinking? Are they up to taking the water? Are they transpiring? And of course, if they look like crap, the answer's going to be no. And then that would be why. And that could certainly be environmental too. If you're the wrong, uh, temperature and humidity, I'm scared to say, be safe out of a man. Say it. If you're the wrong VPD, man. No, seriously, and the plant can't uptake the water and and transpire it out to stomana. Man, you're, uh, you're causing nutrient efficiencies there. It's going to show up as a nutrient efficiency. Yeah, no, 100%.
I made it scouting, super important. People don't do that enough, especially if you have bigger, you know, back corners of rooms or you got to get through some trellis-stuffed bushes that you got to get, you know, tucked down in your knees. You don't get to that back corner and knowing what you did when. So you can backtrack, especially if you're adding any new inputs. And I have associate producer that comes here shout out. Always going deep. As far as I look at damage, pest or pathogen. All right, that's good. It's starting point. What do we deal with? Eliminate or find them first. Next is what everyone feels is nutrition is nutrient deficient, but mostly management issue. Burk tips, streaking stems, calcium spotting, trying edges. First, I look at mass flow nutrients. What would that mean? Mass flow nutrients like your meat and potatoes, MPK, microbes and macros. Yeah, always. Yeah. Diffusion and mass flow, the two ways that it'll go through there, like, nice, that's just like that, that main shoot up, where is it that the diffusion is this kind of like, you know, I think if you're like a slinky going downstairs, you've got to like grab on things and go up, where's the mass flow?
It just goes up this isylem and right up this themata. What? Welcome to it, baby. Ah, ah, ah, ah, it's all good, man. Yeah, and it's, you know, that's a good tip. Associates, producer, thick ohms. And one thing I'd like I mentioned before that I haven't heard a lot of hope you guys have, you know, you got Hannah Chris in the room there. Yo, yo, yo, Chris. I just Google the mass flow my rap name, man. Oh, if there's not a rapper with that name, bro. Yup. Damn, they were much. When you talk, talking to past the ones that can be subsurface, like root aphids, I haven't had them or heard of a lot of people battling them in a while, those can be tricky for people because they they are hiding from you. You can't just see them in your leaves, like a spider miter, a frit, or whatever. Or else if you get the root broader root zone issues, unless you have like a nursery pot, like I can't just pull my plants out of my fabric pots or easy right now, you know, it'd stress the shit out of them. It would work that well. But expecting the root zone to be important, maybe we should have a container and has a little
clear wind for your roots, you know what I'm saying? Little drapes. I'm checking on the drapes there, dude. Oh, well, let us know in your grows, guys. What are your tips for diagnosing sick plants? I didn't mention scouting. I always I used to say everybody should have a loop. I still have a loop. Today's cameras are almost as strong or stronger than a loop, probably on your smartphone. Yeah, but a loop is great because you do just hang out and turn the leaf upside down. Look, you know, it's a... It makes it really that I want to get one like a loop on a necklace and then like a holster for like a like a VPD gun that you know, I guess you have two clearance. And then there's sharks two thing. Put a sharks tooth on that necklace. I'm a buyer, brother. A loop on a chain. That's what mass flow would wear. A grandpa. Yes. Hey, since we're on the subject here, I'm going to give a shout out and I want to do a quick overview. We haven't done it in a while. I believe spider mites are probably the most common
pest that people. So I think it's the first one I got. I bet you it's the first one you got, Scotty. Spider mites. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, Spider mites definitely the first one I got. And by the way, you can see it. Shout out to Canada. Yes, sir. Go ahead. You'll see little dots. You'll see if you're scoping, they're very easy to see. Don't be in denial about them because they start small. Again, we talk about environment. The hotter you have it in the wrong environment, just the more juicy those plants are and the more they get out of control. So environments, everything, knocking them down and then prevention. So something like this. Yeah, it was a little for pepper. At least, say if you see a little things that look like pepper on the bottom of your leaves, get brace. It's time to go. Yep. All right, well, I'll definitely say this segment sponsored by Canada Control. They got a time oil product out. Not only works for minds, and it's seem I'm going to be doing my research the time oil, the act, that I always say it time all. No, time all. Time all, man, time all right.
Hey, guess what? It's made from time oil. It's dude, it's good for a ton of stuff. It works on bacteria, it works on mildews, it kills almost all the insects, specifically corn L. I find these corn L studies because I'm racing just do you have corn L props. Time oil produces 100% mortality rate for spider rights and a 1% concentration. I like it. I like it. So Canada's got the solution there. You can spread this at any time in your grow, although I know some growers, but they're like, whoa, whoa, why don't spray anything in flower? I get it on your buds. That's a branch. No, no, no. You come on. I would always say you can do it up your first two weeks to flower, but cut it out of your pistols and barely form it. But happened nothing you want to smoke. Yeah, I don't spray anything. They're going to be smoking. Nothing when you can see pistols. Grahambo, can you show this video for me and I'll give the quick breakdown. I remember back in the day, again, of the grow store, you can like help people in five minutes. It was so busy at some time. I was like, what, you got some hard money? Dude, why would you show that video, you dick? Dude, this is a canarade of Christmas. This took a big exhale.
Oh my god. This is growing. Oh, it's so, and by the way, you see those things, those little webs, if you just go into the Nile, you'll come back like maybe 36 hours later and your whole buds and garden will be covering those webs. Typically, if you'll find these on your lower leaves, first under your leaf, not on the top of your leaf, and you'll see a little tiny bit of webbing. The problem with spider mites is their eggs hatch in every three days. We have females can lay 20 eggs a day for their four week life cycle. They don't even need other mites to mate. So it only takes one female to live to start a whole new fucking colony. So what do you do? And I'm just saying, we always talk about how it's to the two-spotted spider mit that does the problem. And I think this frame right here is a pretty good image of if you were to kind of loop them and see them, you'll see that little tattoo on his back. It looks like a biker. Yeah. So here's how you can eat. And he's got that ass though, man. So you know that means. If you can, if you have the environmental control to
cooler garden off, that'll help slow their life cycle. You know, if you can take it down to low 70s up or 60s for a little bit, that's fine. But if it's a good time to thin your grow, then your grow. You want to get as thorough coverage as possible. You need to hit, I like the sprayer where the head turns upside down. So you can hit under the leaves really easy. And you're going to spray, let's say you're spray in the can of control. You're going to spray that once every three days for at least three times. I recommend more because you need to break the life cycle and you need to be very thorough, Grahambo. You sort of do. It's a good man and thorough. Terror. Hey, but that's key, man. The break in the life cycle because it won't kill the eggs. So you got to wait for them, the Grahambo turning the nymphs, all right? Once they're nymphs, man, it's fair game, man. I've been saying every nymph all day. I'm all baby saying every nymphs. And lastly, the cool thing. Not but seriously, that's why you got to break them. That is that I'm not being weird. That's the life cycle. But as soon as they're young adults or whatever,
then you can smother them or kill them with the eggs. I think it melts them, doesn't it? Doesn't it pull off of that thought? It melts their beautiful something like that. Yeah, it melts them. They're exoskeleton. And not only that, like using something like time in the can of control, it's a botanical pesticide, if you will. You're not hurting anything. You're not hurting your plants. You're not hurting your earth. It's not going to hurt you. It just asks up what you don't like in your growth. So, all right. Yes, all right. Hey, what's up? It was just your birthday, Scotty. It was just Scotty's birthday. 55. Yeah, man. It was nice, man. I tell you, I was actually was, and my wife was like, uh, what do you want to do? I was like, can I go in my grow room and hang up my new lights? She was like, sure, sure. Oh, yeah, man. It was nice, man. I heard from Bactopia, sunny in Bactopia. I heard from Thundar, the Bud Barian, Counter-Rotter. Chris came up to party. Yes. Great, man. How do you people know Scotty's birthday?
It's on, uh, literally. I messaged him. He was like, what's up, bro? He was just doing my birthday. You know, it sucks because I have a fake birthday on 420 also, just because, yeah. Yeah, me too. Me too. Hey, you know what? We celebrate. There's a thing called Tor de Fat here for the weekend, okay? And that's like a bent, uh, it felt jamboree sort of. Yes. Some kiddie festival. Giant crazy festival. For I got a shout out to one of my buddies, man. All right. He's my age and he showed up as Lieutenant Dangle's for Tor de Fat. That's all right. And I'd never seen Lieutenant Dangle's. That's what he looked like when he showed up. Maybe with the tennis balls and his pants and stuff. It's from Reno 9-1-1. Yes. Not like I said, he's he's walking with my mother-in-law and then my mother-in-law's on the shrooms now and she keeps looking at his junk and then she keeps on being disgusted and then she keeps on looking down at it. It was the best thing to see, man. Well, those of you that don't know was that that that character was known
to the every picture I found to have like a tennis ball at least in his crotch. Yeah. It was great. It was great. Yeah, that's Tor de Fat. That's crazy. Lieutenant Dangle's. Yeah, it's like two and a half minutes. And my wife's dancing with the Lorax, you know. Yeah. I'm going to shout out here. Thumbnair of the Budbarian is also an associate producer so they give Thumbnair the Budbarian. Also, when I shout out, a DGC associate producer, Bare Metal Baramettles Colorado local, right? Yeah, man. Why don't I see Bare Metal more? Come on. Let's party. You should be in the studio audience. This is a great name. I love it. Like those puns sort of, you know, that's great. Bare Metal. Yeah, that's right. That's my kind of metal man. Bare about OG. OG. And so see a producer here. Fly high 89. What's up, buddy? Yeah, look forward to seeing him in all the events. I'm trying to figure out what's up. A producer Richie Rich.
Richie Rich is there. There were a little Moji for their profile. Is this cartoon character? Do you know what's up with the Richie Rich cartoon? It was just, oh yeah. It was great, man. You're too young, bro. He was super rich, bro. He had a butler and a dog, man. And what's the look? The cartoon was just to like show off being Rich. Yeah, look, no, yeah, look at that. He's got the robots and everything. Because you imagine this cartoon now. People hate Rich people so much. I know. This came out in a time when people actually enjoyed. He's got a little bit of rosy. But I mean, everything kind of is real, except for that. Okay. We don't know that that's not real. Hi, you miss Saturday. They don't have this in Canada, did? I don't know. I don't know what year it was. I think it was 1980 to something. I was around. I was around. I love Saturday morning cartoons. That old ritual. My dad's in there with the paper. And I'm looking at Saturday morning cartoons. Good time. You know what I like. This is, brother. I like some smelly flowers.
Oh yeah, a faux-jewelening. Nice. Guys, DDC producers making the show happen. Your $10 a month is huge. You associate producers stepping it up. Thank you very much. We need to DDC producers to keep Graham Bo on the boards. Keep real DDC.com going. There's a lot going on behind the scenes here. Scotty stepped up and get 30% off. Recharge. Brodots. Real bucket systems. We also do hookups for you cats. And it's an ion prime light from AC Infinity. Graham Bo on the boards moving. Quick. I love it. Keep it up with my caffeinated cell. Because I'm in love with this light. I keep it on the radio all the time. This thing is the real deal. Hey, I'll tell you I was in my grueliest today and I was moving the lights around. And I had one of those bars that was like laying on top of one of the other fixers just the way I was laying on like what a waste. And I plugged it. And it worked. Things still works. Man, so. Oh, you just took the bar out. I took one of those bars out. Yes. Pretty cool. Are you saying you're dropping bars like mass-slow? Drinking bars, man. I'm dropping bars like mass-slow. Word. Also, 20% off our merch, which I'm horrible at promoting.
We're about to me and Graham, we're about to, what are we going to do to the store? We're going to remodel the store realdgc.com forward slash shop. But if you producers, any of your benefits, just go to the producers tab on the top navigation. That's where you can enter the window light. You can get all the coupon codes, the free sticker packs. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you had a laugh, which I hope you have. If we up to grow game, coming over, sign up to be a DDC producer. Appreciate you. All right. Fall, a prohibition reports. We're all these scotties. Realdgc.com forward slash blog. That's where you and Kat have been working. Yeah, me, Kat and Chad hang out there. Man, we're a great trio. Okay. Who does the most work out of the store? You know what? I will sit down and learn about something. So I tell you, well, start with this one. My buddy calls me up yesterday, a couple days ago from my birthday. A old friend of mine lives in Georgia now. Guy grew with me for years, knows good weed. And he goes, yo, as of July 1st, Georgia now has legal weed. And I'm like, tell me about it. It was like at first, it sucked, you know, like the first batch, he called it.
It was like at like 15% THC, 1% Terps. And I was like, it was kind of interesting. You already knew to, you know, to, you know, they was looking for Terps already. But anyway, he said very quickly. It's only been what? Two months, we said the quality is pretty damn good now. Georgia? Yeah, right? And what was really interesting was I started doing something he goes, did. He starts telling me about his stores in Bickel, Venti, which is a like a portable dry herb vape. And I was like, that's pretty next level of my buddy from Georgia that has a dry herb vape. They don't allow you to smoke it. It is illegal to smoke weed in Georgia. You can vape it, even inside your own home. You can vape it, burn it. You cannot burn it. You can dry herb vape it. And that is okay. What the fucking up with that idea? What do you think? Did people that don't smoke weed? You're not on the side. What do you just roll your eyes and move on?
Because it's more than we're going to talk about soon. One of those things that's just not enforceable and ridiculous. It is, man. There's cops in Georgia. What he's saying is he hangs out and hits his Venti his little stores in Bickel, dry herb vape. And it's legal. And he's happy. He's like, it was great, man. But he's just telling so anyway, my point is I started doing some research on it. And after I did a half hours with the research, I sent it to Kat and Kat turned it into an article. No, that's the plenty. The Venti is what it's called. Venti. Yeah. That one. Yeah, I had that one. It's funny. Why don't you smoke that thing? It's always like this. They just continued it. It's a weird wizard thing. They sent me this one instead. I don't know what the... He just... Yeah, the Venti. Yeah, look, but that's a dry herb vape. That taser. He can... He has on the other side of this. No, but seriously, so that's what he's smoking or not smoking out of vaping. And it's completely legal.
No, does that tie just to medical? Or is there a risk? It is just medical. It is... Okay, that's why they're saying that. Because it's not healthy to inhale. So they want to put something in writing that you're not going to enforce, just to let people know, hey, it's not healthy to inhale it when you burn it. So I get where they're coming from, but it is crazy. Do me a favor. You go back to the article because dude is yelling at me. Things are just yelled at in the chat. But this... I just... I took everything that my buddy told me and researched it. And then he goes to me, all right, although the cannabis, whatever, it's only medical. The THC drinks are huge. Every party, all the women that all are drinking are people in general. Our drinking THC drinks there, man. And that's not medical program. That's hemp derived stuff. It's very interesting that THC is taking over the South, though. Well, that's going to be an impact, it's usually here.
And we're going to get into that in a moment after this with the band coming. So as far as accessibility and having those THC drinks everywhere, but I get it. And it looks like they don't allow home grow either, which is like bullshit. You recognize it as medicine, but we can't grow it. Somebody's got to grow my medicine for me. Hey, it looks like the gummies are all right. You can get by a 300-milligram packet. Gummies, not terrible. No, no. You know that most of you can buy here at a federally recreational market in Canada, as all of Canada's, not all of it, or some places that I've opted out, but just 10-milligram packages of edibles. Which is horrible. When you see anything above 100-milligrams for real, above 100-milligrams, ask to see the ingredients, because they spice them up with all those other cannabinoids. You'll be like, THCV, THC, oh, really? Why is that in there? Because 100-milligrams is the standard limit across even Colorado, California everywhere. Soup the gardener. Shout out to Soup. He got me a bag. Oh, I know you like a strong one. Here's a 500. You know, that doesn't. You shouldn't be able to buy that.
Turn it over. Yep. THCV, THCO. Yeah, so it gets you high, but, um, different, huh? Yeah, that's common. What's some of this other article here? Again, on realdgc.com. Forth slash blog. And this is like a lot. This people could talk about this like half year. More Americans use cannabis every day than drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes. So yeah, I need to believe. But look at the chart. And, all right, I made that up. If you figured it's 350 million people in America give or take a census and 21 million that's 7 or 8 percent, that tracks. That tracks. Yeah. I mean, there's 20 million people that smoke cigarettes still. I mean, it's not, you know, it's surprisingly big amongst the youth. Yeah, I'll date these girls and they smoke and I'll go, what do you do it? Yeah, the vapin is. But come on, cannabis is huge, man. And I'll bet you if you're using CBD drops, that's cannabis, right?
You're saying, yeah. Um, yeah. Yeah. I mean, if I guys assume they're including those numbers. And I mean, obviously the most obvious thing here when we're comparing it to cigarettes, nicotine vaping alcohol, smobosteoaco, and I see cigars are on here, is it's not bad for you. It's actually be healthy for you, you know what I'm saying? So people are definitely getting it, which is good to see. I saw him that he just wished the, which we're going to get into here next. The people that regulate this would get their gear, their act together. Like I'm a political side of how they're trying to figure out, it makes no sense and takes way too all. Imagine that. I love that surprise. Yeah. Oh, man. All right. Check out all their articles over there, guys. Real ddc.com forward slash blog. You don't need to be logged in. Go check them out. It's just really dc.com. We're right there, man. You know, even we got to type nothing else. Just scroll, baby. I'm still learning how to work when you say you don't have to type anything else. Like I paid for a, like a nice smart, whatever,
radio's that what they call them these days. Damn it. In my, I don't think so much smart. Let's get going. Yeah. Do you just get real? My car stereo upgraded from factory in this 2010 matrix. I got my daughter anyway. I still find myself picking up my phone to try and call you, Scotter. I'm type something you can tell Siri to do all this shit for you. It's like I, it's weird how what, what, depending on when you grew up before certain technologies, you still are just stuck in a certain mode for some things. Maybe not you. I welcome the technology. That's why you have to have sympathy for the old. My daughter seven now. I'm 43. I'm going to be an old dad. She's like, Dad, just get in the interdimensional portal. I go, I don't understand how the interdimensional portal works. You just get the, get the cyclotron, get it activated, get it up to light speed, and get in the active portal. I got scared of the portal. The portal's fine. And they're going to go. Oh, the portal. Grandpa, Grandpa. Oh, God.
Grandpa's. He's going to the portal, man. I'm scared of the portal. All right, Scotty, you got to tell me about the seed band loophole that starts with my mom. All right, I'm going to get pissed off here. It's not your mom, man. It's your mom. All right. Anyway, favorite. This is a real DGC post we did over there. And we have some good comments on this. But man, there is. I was doing a little bit of research. And, dude, there's they wrote this new. We're talking about the seed band, the upcoming seed band. And very clearly in there, it says that they're measuring the THC of the seeds that you're selling by the THC level of the mother. You know, so that means that they have to go find the mother and then grow that mother out. Flower it and measure it for THC percentage. Then take it a court with that evidence. If not, you go to court and be like, Hey, look, where's the, uh, show me the that the mother tested above.
0.3% THC. And they're going to have to go through a lot of effort to do it. Exactly. The producer said, bang dogs says, okay, government, how are you going to prove that in that? I mean, it's proving it is one thing. I don't know what the process is here. Regardless, the biggest thing with this is the accessibility of shipping seeds nationwide will go away due to banking will be taken away credit card processes from you in the United States Postal Service. So you'll, yes, won't ship seeds anymore either. And I don't know how they found them before. But they cannot see us. Just real quick, is that hemp seeds, if they are certified below 0.3% and not even certified, if they you declare them below 0.3% THC? I mean, hemp is a product that needs to be sold. How could you have a hemp industry without allowing, you know, viable seeds to be sold? So if that was the case, there's a pound for 10 bucks right here. I know what I'm talking about. I'm uh, no, for agricultural purposes.
Um, yeah, the problem is we'll see how it's handled. It's like you said that if you say you're selling a pack of, um, whatever, the plominites or something, then if, I guess they're knowing that all these seeds are going to come from a higher THC percentage plant. I'll be interesting to see how it plays out. Most of my sources say that it's definitely going to wait. Now, in their state, if you live in Cali, let's say Humble Seed go, can still ship Cali? Like, Interstate is okay. But I don't know if they would have banking still. I just get the bankings the serious problem. That's the issue because you probably could get a phytosanitary certificate for these things, which is all you need to ship seeds. And let us not forget about Chad Westport. Also, he had his, uh, ISP provider take his website. Yeah. So I mean, there's all sorts of different ways to get attacked. But as far as this whole seed apocalypse happening, the way this is written, don't forget the credit card company. So I want to cancel a bunch of people. They want to continue taking their money. So the way this is written right here is a giant loophole saying that
the mother plant has to test higher than point three percent THC. And what we just talked about, nobody's doing that. No, we don't have a giant genetics library and, you know, Gaz, I love saying Gaz chromatic graph lately. You know, but just checking all these plants out and getting the THC rating just for the mother. Yeah. Yeah. And I, I guess some precedents might have to happen for this. Where cannabis attorney was like, come on, why do you seize these seeds? You know, somebody might be seizing a whole shipment of thousands of dollars worth of seeds and asking where is the proof of the said mother plant. And at that point, I suppose they'd have to take one of those seeds, give it to a grower, go have the feds, the DA, buy some grower, and, but they grow it out. The wouldn't they need to grow the mother and then grow another one and reverse the mother so that genetics were both from the mother. We're going to eat my plate. You ever talked to an attorney before?
Your honor. Have you ever heard of an S1? Yes. I bring in, I present into evidence colloidal silver. Yeah, I like it. Now, this was, I think that this all started. People are, I don't know, could be interesting conversation here in the Saturday morning. Who was behind the seed band? What is doing this? And this was put into a 141 page like government reopening thing, which I don't even know what it means when the government's like, I don't get all that shit. I don't try to. But in a rush, section 781 is what this is. This is where they put this wording. I believe it was just oversight, like just like when the 2018 Farm Bill was allowed, it was oversight. They didn't know what they were doing by allowing THCA, right? I don't know who else he would really. THCA is the most original thing I've ever heard. It's saying no, this isn't THC because it's not burnt yet. Once it burns, it'll be THC even till we heat it up. It's THC acetate. It's like what else? Red versus toast. Somebody would ever like the equivalent of like the Nobel Peace prizes for a stoner.
Somebody should, whoever invented THCA should get. Say toast three times. I don't know what I'm scared. Say toast. Toast. What are you putting a toaster? Toast. Brad. Deep man. That was deep, bro. I need a moment, man. Sorry. This thing, this isn't just seeds. We got companies as big as Target that have put THCA drinks in handful of their stores as well as the hemp market claimed to be worth 300,000 jobs in $28 billion. Now, when I say that hemp market, you got to consider we're talking quickie marks in major cities, Chicago, a quickie mark that has THC and probably potentially flower. I think some of those products, I would agree. I was about to say I would agree with Congress, but that made me feel sick. I would agree that he's like some of your change. Scroll up, Granbo. On this bill, look at all this, they shoved it in there with military constructions, veteran affairs, continue to like they shoved this in there, and all kinds of crap.
But some of those products, Scotty, I don't think need to do the ear in the market at the quickie marks. You know, the Delta 8 pen and this and that. The some, probably some subpar flower experiences with people. Some of it might be good, but I mean, definitely the seeds is something that I should not be in there, especially since they're allowing clones or tissue culture, but not seeds. You know what's hard, Granbo? What's the card? Grab one. Ah, Apathy is not the same as we're drawing and discussed. Relevant, relevant sir. Oh, I have some tips. I can't believe you have some tips. I shit, dude. What? The what Congress is talking about? Only for milliseconds because and Instagram, what to do with rescheduling. But if you grow, shout out to James Bean, good buddy of ours. He had some tips, you know, and I believe these by jet and by genetics that you actually want now. I mean, we're I've been reading here that prices are going to climb again.
Remember how expensive seeds were before the span? So this is an estimate of prices climbing 50 to 200% posted. Like, seeds are definitely more expensive prior to 2018. Like, people would spend $100 on packs when we get them over in Europe. I don't know if somebody is going to continue on their re-rear. But right now is and it's not just trying to sell genetics. It is a good time to get some genetics. They still are shipping over state lines. People still have credit card processing. So now you want to go, what are you, why are you making that face? What do you got? Because I was going to say the whole industry is blowing up. But then I decided I wasn't going to say it, man. Dude, probably just you're we can keep seeds for five to ten years if properly stored. So I would and then I don't want to agree with this. I kind of like this prioritize getting a few regular packs as well. And this isn't just because of the seed band. What if something else crazy happens in the world? Having a pack of regular seeds enables you to be a breeder with shout out. I think we're going to get Chad Westport on next week to talk about you. Nice. Scotty for the whole. Where you go? Well, if you know a pack of regular seeds and it enables you to make thousands of seeds
if you'd like with nothing else, just that one pack. So that's another good way to do it. And keeping moms that you currently have really good plans to get out of the room, keep some moms. You can keep really small moms. It is a little bit harder to do, but our tricks and tips are keeping small moms of mothers to get things going. Right. All right. Yes. Check out our deals if you guys want to hook up realddc.com forward slash deals. That's where you can get a code over there with James Bean, baby. There are a lot of it and there are a lot of deals right now too, because people are looking at inventory like, shit, I don't know what I'm going to be able to do with all this potentially. So let's they're starting to blast it out. Who thinks anything's going to happen with this seed band? Jim? Jim has no idea, but he says nothing. Banner says, I don't know. Chris, you think something's going to happen? You think seed apocalypse everything's going to stop? I think some companies are bound out. It's not worth the risk. Graham Boe, you think anything's going to happen? You know, I was kind of when they moved it back from November to December, I was kind of like, well, that's a good sign. And I read a night owl. He did a big post about like his investigations of it.
And he's a giant seed guy. And I kind of was like, oh, crap. It does seem a little hopeless from that perspective. Yeah. Night owl just made a post with this is the end. The old. You know how many times I've used that in my thumb nails? All right. This is the end. All right. I quit. All right. It's over here. Yeah, right? You're with you with the GC Plumber SoCal. Because again, we made this post on realdbc.com. You guys, right, check those out and help us build a show. Plumber SoCal says all this fear is silly. Many of us grew long before the 2018 Farm Bill. And if needed, we'll do some more. But there's far too much money involved with just hemp to try and restrict it now. And a majority of Americans today smoke more pot than cigarettes. I'm honestly not worried about it. We won. Dude, my drop. What love. The point I was making that, yes, people who don't sell seeds are not the ones affected by this. It's the people trying to make businesses out of this, you know, your Chad West Coast, your Rosta Jeff's, your night owls. I'd like to see those guys staying business.
Look, if they can exploit the THC A loophole. I'm be like, no, no, we're not so mean weed because it's not burnt yet. Okay. Then they can exploit this seed loophole and say, test the mothers. Go, I mean, it's a big loophole, no? The other thing is testing the mother plant and what stage of growth. Did they not specify? Let's test this mother. You have to flower it up, man. And to whatever stage of growth it takes until it makes over 0.3% THC. So you have to flower that thing up, which takes time. And then what father genetics are there? You know, you'd have to really back cross it. If you get a lawyer and the lawyer is such a good lawyer, you're going to figure that out. Yeah, I, I, since you didn't ask me, what do I think this is really going to happen? I think there is going to be some big hiccups that we're going to go through maybe six months to a year period, at least because of how slow they work on stuff. Because of how slow they work on stuff, I think it was too much money involved. They will return around in my humble opinion.
But like, Rambo mentioned, the people that have a finger on the pulse, the most, James Bean, the other breeders mentioned, they all feel like this is going to happen. It's going through. You think the guys that sell all the seeds are telling you she really buy the seeds now, man? As you, I, I, I agree. I don't know what you're that being. The buy one get one scenario that I explained to my kids. Nothing's free. You already had to buy one. Look, it's free. You know what I'm saying? You don't explain that to my kid. And then I explained to her also, consider everyone's motivations. And then anybody talks to you. Just consider their motivations. Yes, especially Scotty. Yes, man, you're about to meet your arjot. We'll talk about my growth. Good stuff. All right, guys, I really want to get some good comments on this one because it is, it is happening. It is trending. I want to see Scotty ask, what do you think? Is this really going to happen? And if so, should you stock up? I say yes, because you should, if you're a grower having a seed bank, seed bank to me, I know some people have problems. But it's like, you know, 10 packs is nice.
We got DGC there. Show off the fact that, dude, I have a problem here. I have a full of 50 packs. It's fun. And just think about that. It's like having 50 strings, right? Like that 50 strings of, of bud hanging out ready to go, right? Yes. All right, let's check what's going on on YouTube. The network, grambot, grows. What are you up to? It's been a chill little bit, but I've been super stoked. My video's about to cross 200,000 this a team of video. Thank you guys. That is a huge achievement. Yeah, for this. And so, yeah, just a thank you for everyone. Whenever you see those big numbers, go into the analytics. You'll see a lot of shares. The shares mean a lot. And so thank you, DGC. Thank you, Graham fam. That's my Thai personal trainer, Graham fam. Yes, it's, so yeah, you guys, I think, every time grambot grows comes up, I always give a shout out to Scotty and the dude. Thank you for, thank you for introducing me to my purpose in life, cannabis and being, being funny and talking about weed.
That's just, it's every, it's, it's nothing but good vibes up in here. Yeah. I did use cell grambot. You rose to the occasion, sir. Thank you guys. And, yes, and shout out to you, Scotty. Everyone's like, oh, grambot's killing it. And I go, have you seen what the bakery boss is up to? No. That kid's killing me. They're 50, 2013. Did I start? I'm taking my shirt off for that one. I knew it had done better. Swaz and baby. Aha. Now, hey, I had one over there, frost hacks, a couple days ago. Oh, man, I did. What the, yeah, baby. Took a deep dive in the UV. And, man, do you know that the plant has a UVB receptor? And that if flips on, takes maybe five minutes for it to flip on. And then, yeah, so the idea is you get one. I even have, at the end of my video, I got a specific light. It was that light I talked about earlier. But, yeah, you flip it on for maybe five minutes at a time. It flips that receptor. You turn it off before anything gets hurt. And I'm telling you, there's something there, man. I got my cycle stat out. A lot of factors in that to be careful with,
distance from can and be, water to the said fixture, usually for us in tubes are pretty low. My 315, which is an all 315 watch, a UVB, but it was two feet off of the buzz. And some of them got frosty, but not in a good way. They got the white burn frost. So, introduce it slow, slow intervals. It needs like two units, whatever it is. Like, it's so, it needs such minimal amount of UVB. And then this, I found this reptile bulb, I put it on before, on the format before, but they have all these different, you know, percentages of UVB, so that's super low. And so, to UV is complicated, man. And it goes to that. It's to get it going. If that phenotypic expression thing, right, you can imagine that a Jamaican sativa is getting way less UV in something that was bred into Paul in 14, 15,000 feet. And then the logic says, I was like, oh, isn't UVB blocked by the sun or whatever? But I'm like, no, because the reptiles
wouldn't need that supplemental UVB bulb, right? Like, it's obviously getting through. Good thinking, it is. And look at you. Like, look at dude's deep. And if you want to see dude peak stoneness, you go to DGC grow talk. He looks like he's doing his dice clay there. Or, yeah, or the deniro. Hey, are you talking to me about MPK? Yeah, talking to me about MPK? Yeah, we did a video on MPK Mythbusting. We had a cool comment from Eclipse. It says, don't ever cut out nitrogen. Without nitrogen, P and K are useless. That made me think about what do we have? We always know some nitrogen and vegetative growth. Have more of it. You're gonna have more of it than flowering and flowering. And I scratched my head, Scotty. I was looking at a bottle of rainbow nutrient. See as a three part. I have a bottle of the phosphorus or the pee. And it still still carries a one for the nitrogen. So basically, you need to have this like an entourage effect. No, I mean, you just always need a little bit of nitrogen to just it's a building block of amino acids.
And then those amino acids are building blocks of enzymes. And then the enzymes, I'm gonna do it, Grandpa. I'm going off the chain. Our building blocks is secondary metabolites, like your terpenes and trichomes and all that. So if you're doing a fade where your buds are yellow and you have zero nights, transloader located all the nitrogen that it could already. Myzwell chop that shit down. If you're not building secondary metabolites anymore. So you always need, and your plan always needs access to a little bit of it. Yeah. Secondary metabolites. Yeah, I used to mess that up a little bit. I'd cut it out after the first two weeks of flower and like, no, you do not want to do that. So good point, clips. Check out DGC Grow Talk on YouTube. If you want to check out our shorts and other interesting stuff as well. Don't forget, man, last Wednesday live, we had a heated discussion on flushing. I got fired up, man, I got fired up. So I will tell you, dude, I still, for you, the double flush is the move. Always remember that, man, dude, double flush.
You can, you can, realddc.com, forward slash replays, also all on Spotify, the search dude grows. Check out our uncensored content over there. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I just got something. Can I just tell you guys something funny that happened, man? You know, I have the bamboo nursery in Florida. Bamboo plants online. Yeah. For the most part, I leave those guys alone there. Such tough red necks down there that they, you know, whatever, I take care of the sales and they take care of, you know, making sure we got plenty of bamboo and everything's good. They call me, I would say, we need a new excavator. We need a new piece of equipment. The other ones worn out. So they go and they find one at an auction and they go, you got to talk to the guys beforehand to see what they're used for, to see if they beat them up on a construction site or something. So he goes, or just give them the fresh paint. Sorry, you know, like Richard Gullers, they'll offer you the fresh paint service and something that's been to shit. So what would you say about this one? My redneck buddy calls me up and he goes,
