In 2024, a truck crashed into Canaw in Moresque, where I work.
146 of our dogs needed homes fast.
We asked for help on Facebook.
Our story spread through WhatsApp messages and Instagram reposts.
Immediately, people stepped up.
And just six hours later, every dog was fostered.
I'll never forget how our community showed up for us.

To say for a Kovsky was due, probably an understatement.
But how much obviously we saw how much joy he had,
but how much can that also boost a team?
Yeah, there's no doubt.
Our guys like him a lot.
We're in a close-knit group in there and obviously he's gone through struggles
where he hasn't been able to produce the level that certainly he's used to in capable love
and I felt like he was getting ready to break through and he was able to tonight and
our guys were out before him and hopefully that leads to kind of those peripheral
and floodgates opening up.
You know, I can see, you know, confidence is a funny thing and that's amazing
when you get confident what happens.
Hopefully you can build off that goal and let that confidence grow.
It was gracious to you.
Even on the top line throughout those struggles.
Was it wrong?
I can't see anything about the game that he had.
You know, I just, again, you know, it's interesting.
Like, you can't...
The guys have to produce, I get it.
But there's a lot more that goes into it and you know,
if he wasn't working as hard as he's worked, if he wasn't caring as much as he's cared,
you know, maybe we don't keep him up there.
But I just felt like he was working so hard.
He was competing hard.
He cares a ton and eventually it felt like it was going to happen for him and glad that it did.
And he's a good person and again, he's a big part of our group.
Very physical to me.
Are you going to success that these two teams are tired of singing each other?
We'll see it on the...
You know, hey, it's...
There were some scrums.
There was a good emotion in the game.
That's a good thing for everybody involved to be honest with you.
You know, obviously we've played each other a couple of times here.
We've played each other again coming up here next.
So it'll be...
You know, those are fun games.
But I was just really, you know, excited for our guys.
Like, sticking up for each other.
You know, that's something that's important to me and important to our group.
And I thought they did an excellent job of looking after each other.
And sticking up for each other.
All three of Drew Tremeslo starts this year.
It's been kind of a emergency situation.
So obviously you've seen him handle that.
Very well.
You know, I like Drew's demeanor very good.
I thought coming out of camp.
You know, we had a...
I thought we'd definitely have a number of good goalies in camp.
And obviously, Sody and Knight have played very well for us.
But you know, certainly fully confident Drew coming in and playing well.
He's got a good demeanor to him.
You know, the last two, obviously.
Obviously, this starts to be really good.
But he's just got a good demeanor to him.
So it's certainly confident when he goes in there.
That was obviously a big goal by Frank.
He's on a roll now.
But you can't be with his system overall,
because in the next year or $6 million in camp,
he's probably going to expect more.
Well, you know, again, I understand the question.
Listen, I don't necessarily look at exactly that way.
But Frank has high expectations.
And we have high expectations of Frank.
And those are going to be high again next year.
He's a second year NHL player.
Like, it's not an easy league.
You can go through a number of guys.
I mean, including guys that have coached you second years.
We're tough years, you know.
And sometimes things go kind of your way.
And then sometimes you don't.
You got to learn how to react to that.
And what I love about what Frank did tonight is how hard he competed on the puck.
He won tons of pucks.
I mean, the hit he took in the third and make a play.
All that stuff matters a ton.
And I think he understands that good process.
Results will follow for me.
He's a talented person.
So if he has good process, results will follow.
None of this stuff is ever going to go smooth all the time.
And these are, you know, that's what life is.
And you're going to get knocked down.
Do you get back up?
And he's had some moments.
I'm sure he's totally got knocked down.
He gets back up well.
And he's a confident kid.
And a lot of belief in the success of having the future.
That was one of the dark's best games in the year.
We're just saying a lot.
He only comes away with one that says, how does he end?
Is he good with that?
Like does he understand?
You know that, you know, he got robbed like four times.
That is not his fault.
Yeah, you know, it's interesting.
He's actually had a lot of chances here since the break.
And you know, sometimes they go in easy.
Sometimes they don't.
You know, before we went on the Western Canadian road swing early in the year,
you know, when I talked, he's like, man, just stay with it because it's going to come.
And then he really, you know, he tons of production on that trip.
And I think, you know, I can see a similar kind of thing right now,
where he's getting a ton of chances that the production will definitely come.
His compete was great.
Showed great leadership the way that he came out to work and compete tonight.
And I didn't think we had a best game last night.
We found a way to get a point.
I thought we were much more dialed in tonight.
And he certainly was one of the guys that led the way.
And then...
Andrew Mindjipani scored his first goal as a blackout.
What have you seen from him?
That's a good question.
I think he's, you know what Andrew's done.
He's brought, he's brought us into the fight a little bit.
Like he's a, he's a very competitive.
You know, you get him and Mickey on the line and Donald that line.
I thought it was excellent.
They went up against Keller almost all night.
That's an excellent line in Keller and Schmultz and Gunther.
So, you know, I thought they did a really good job there.
They, he, he competes hard.
He plays North.
He plays kind of straight ahead hockey, which, you know,
sometimes we can get a little too east west with some of our young skill.
And he plays a very direct North game.
And I think that that helps our team a lot.
So, he's been a good addition.
Again, a lot of kind of compete to him.
So, somebody that's, we're happy to have a part of our group.
Inside the last 20 games.
Now, if you keep playing grinding games like that,
play off shot still possibility.
Is that a factor?
Uh, yeah.
It's up for, you know, we, we get away.
I don't, I don't really look at it that way necessarily.
Like, let's win games.
If we win again, the next game, then you wouldn't then you go towards it.
Honestly, I know that's something like Coach Tarp.
It's not, it's surely not.
Like, we just, it's not the way we look at it.
You control it's ahead of you.
And that's all you can control.
So, it is exactly what's ahead of you.
And the more you can get narrow focus on that,
uh, find a way to learn a lesson from the game tonight,
and then move to the next game.
The better off you're going to be.
And that's, there's a reason why it's coached because it's true.
Uh, and, and so that's just our focus right now.
These are extremely meaningful games for this hockey team.
Uh, we, we don't want to be in this spot a year from now.
We're, you know, at the trade deadline.
We were, however many points out we want to be in a better spot than that.
We'll do that.
We're going, we're going to have to grow internally.
And the majority of the guys in that room are going to be here.
So we have to grow as individuals.
We're going to grow as a team.
And so we look forward to the challenge on a nightly basis.
Any of the test results on four come back.
Yeah, you know, I would say right now, um, it'll be.
We'll have, we'll have to look at it again after a few weeks to be honest with you.
But he'll miss some significant time right now.
And, and I don't know what that means exactly, but he'll miss significant time.
And then again, we'll kind of reevaluate as we go through, uh, the next month.
Rinse on lunch.
We're pretty consistently physical tonight.
And it seems like they're getting more that way every game.
Is that just a byproduct of becoming more comfortable and confident at the angel level?
Or is that something that they're actively trying to be better at?
I would say both, um, certainly in, in RD's case, you know, he's got, you know,
you look at your skill sets and what can make me special.
He's extraordinarily strong for a young guy.
And so, you know, physicality is something him.
And I've talked a lot about bringing that physical edge, taking hits to make plays,
but also punishing other people and making sure it's hard on them.
And I think, you know, I think Sam's done a good job.
Sam doesn't have the same strength level, but he's done a good job and his compete that way.
Part of it is also just getting more comfortable and understanding, you know,
where your body's at compared to the approach that you're playing against.
So I think it's important.
That's pure automotive joy.

I get that chance off the pass from you and you miss and then get the breakaway and over
time.
Did it feel good to get that redemption at the end?
Yeah, the whole game, a fertility score.
It comes in pairs.
Like, you're ready.
It's coming again.
It's coming again after you miss that first one.
And then you get the second and it's yours.
And that's the same thing for me.
You get the breakaway.
Follow it.
And then get another chance.
So it comes in two and just be ready for that second chance.
It was especially sweet after the overtime was the last and I need to come back and get it
in overtime tonight.
For sure.
I think it definitely is.
Especially like the meeting up today is being hit with Troy Murray and everything.
You know, he's definitely up there watching and guiding us.
And he made a big impact on a lot of our lives and our organizations.
So we'll be able to get that run right now on a day like today.
What do you make of how you guys responded after the first few minutes of that period?
Yeah.
I actually thought we played really well.
Whole game.
It's in pieces that we can clean up.
But, you know, I thought we came together.
And I mean, we made a hard push in the third and had a lot of great chances.
I've been trying not to give up much.
And I don't think we did.
And to be able to push at the OT and get that extra points.
It's huge.
You don't seem to like these guys.
They don't seem to like you very much.
You're going to begin next year.
Yeah.
You're expecting that Thursday.
I don't know.
We'll see.
It's many series, right?
So it's going to be fun.
It's going to be a test.
It's definitely something that we need to practice.
For the future, right?
Playing teams more than once in a row.
And, um, it's definitely something we can learn from and build some confidence with.
What goes through your mind when you phone with a plug-up.
But all the crowd is on there.
I'm expecting you.
Um, I don't think I'm allowed to say that.
I don't know.
But, yeah.
Nothing good.
I'm just glad I got a second commentary.
That's to be thankful for that.
Do you feel like things?
You're lying.
He's been doing pretty well.
I do feel like you guys have turned a lot together.
Yeah, I mean, I love playing with Bert and Table.
Right.
Two great players.
Um, you find ways to make plays.
And, um, you know, it's been a blast.
I had a lot of chemistry with them last year and beginning the year.
And, um, you know, it's always fun to play two great players.
It's terrifying and giving you more spin passes.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, he has.
He's, I've been giving him a few more of this time.
He's been scoring lately, so.
Do you feel like your individual game seems to be opening up a little bit more recently?
Have you been able to get on the score sheet a lot more?
Yeah, I think that it's, honestly, I think that it's been there.
Um, you know, I had a lot of meetings with Blash and coaches and stuff and talked about a few things personally.
And then, um, I think really, you know, executing on these opportunities that you get.
And I think even games before, I haven't scored or pucks not going in there.
Um, I'm not getting the play to finish.
You know, it's all been there just as a matter of, you know, a lot of puck grass online.
So I think, um, you know, keep my head high and staying humble and just continuing to work and get better each day is the key.
Frank, what's up?
Me and the past few day, like, terrifying for as long as you're here.
And what's the kind of talk to you this year?
Because it's all on.
It's a good question.
I mean, I definitely think Aki sense is a big part.
Um, spoke about it before, but like just how smart he is and, um, how he reads the ice.
I mean, it's like, I mean, I feel like he can play forever.
It doesn't matter if he can't skate or he's only in one leg.
Like, I feel like he just reads the ice so well and has such a good touch that, you know, he can play wherever, anywhere, anytime.
And, um, not a big thing and learning to read off him and, um, you know, being predictable with them and, you know, goes, goes along with him.
Yeah, I mean, it felt nice, uh, you know, obviously last night.
It was nice to get a point with the team and I don't think we were happy with how it ended.
So, yeah, honestly, I was, I was really happy with, you know, just how the team overall played the day.
It was, uh, yeah, it was great to get it went.
All three of your strengths this year have been kind of like an emergency situation.
It's like, how do you get yourself ready for a game?
You don't know what's coming to them.
Yeah, I mean, I think that's just part of the job.
It's always staying prepared and, um, yeah, I mean, I don't think my, my approach really changes.
Um, you know, where I'm playing just, you know, prepare the best I can with the circumstances I'm given and, and go in and give my team shots.
So, that's really all that I can put into that.
Does it help them some familiarity with a lot of the guys on this team hasn't been in rockered recently?
Absolutely. Yeah, honestly, like, all my best friends are here.
Um, I'm just like, whenever I'm here, I'm just so happy.
Just away from the rank to be around with these guys.
Like, I think, yeah, I've played with a bunch of them for a few years.
Like, we're so close off the ice.
And, yeah, just like, coming back, it feels like family.
Um, you know, I love all these guys.
It's just so much fun being here with them.
Do you feel every time you do get a chance up here, your auditioning basically for whether it's next year or whatever, to get you for winning a chance up there?
Uh, not necessarily.
I think I just go and I want to give the team the best of the win.
Like, I don't, I don't want to just get on the ice and play like I want to, I want to get out there and, and perform and, um, you know, and stand out and, and be the best version of myself.
Um, you know, at the end of the day, that's all that I can do.
And, um, yeah, I mean, we played so good in front of me tonight.
So, uh, yeah, I was fun to get a part of it.
What have you grown the most on the last year or two, just overall in terms of your game work?
Do you feel like you've improved the most?
Yeah, I would first say just off the ice.
Um, you know, I feel like I've really learned and matured and learned how to handle my, my body the right way and recover it.
Really, this is the best that I felt, um, you know, really in any season physically.
Um, you know, I think it has a lot to do with my preparation, my diet, my recovery and just the consistency away from the rank is something that I really take pride in.
So, um, but again, I'm still learning every single day, you know, from, from the older guys and the younger guys too, like everyone's great.
So, yeah, just, uh, trying to get better every day.
This is your second start at the United Center.
So, it's probably old half for you now, but, um, they caught you on the jungle drum from your first start in January and you were just taking it all in.
Can you talk about your emotions with the, it was with the national anthem?
Yeah, I mean, honestly, it was the same today.
Like, we obviously have the best fans in the league and the national anthem just gives me chills every time.
And, you know, I think I kind of take that moment just to be really grateful for where I am.
You know, I think is as a kid, if you, if I sold or me, you know, stand there and for the United Center crowd during that anthem.
I don't know if I believe you. So, um, yeah, I just really grateful for the opportunity.
And I kind of take that time to, yeah, just soak it in and, um, just really enjoy the moment.
Also at all, Jesus Christ.
I thought I was going to slap Moan ahead when I missed the first one.
Oh, Frank.
I was going to say with that one, when you had that back door tap in the maze, the fart bonus, you're just thinking like this is as bad as it gets.
Yeah, I was just, this is, this is a life course right now.
I don't know, but great path from Franky there.
It's just a spin hard.
It's been hard to find the back of that.
So it was the, I was kind of annoyed when I missed that one.
So, um, it was nice to see one going for once.
Blash was really stood by you throughout all this.
And you know, that's not blind.
What did that mean for you?
That means a lot.
I mean, he's been amazing to me all year and shows a lot of trust.
And it's a really great, great coach and you're playing for him.
So, um, thanks to him.
You guys have done pretty well against Utah throughout this season.
What is it about playing against them that it's all so well?
Different things every night.
I mean, I don't know.
You could, you could say the same against like, I think against Dallas.
We've been playing good against them too.
Some nights maybe we have a little more.
I think today we're fighting really hard.
We battling, stood up for each other.
You could sense that everyone really, really wanted to win.
I think there's been a lot of games this year where it's been really tight
and then we end up losing at the end or over time or whatever.
So, um, we wanted this one.
We want to win every game but we want to come back in front of our fans.
I think the day to serve it, they've been great all year.
You got them again next.
It's getting scrappy.
I can do you think that one would be even, you know, maybe a little more heated.
Yeah, sure.
I mean, seeing how the game plays out, but I mean, this part of the game, it's fun.
It's fun to get in there and start pushing the channel a little bit.
So, um, yeah.
That's fun.
Is that your first lacrosse that I won't build at any level?
Yeah.
I mean, I don't know if you want to call it that.
I don't know.
Half one.
Yeah, it is.
Even though you haven't been producing, have you still felt like you've been...
Yeah, I'm looking at it more as if I'm creating chances.
I mean, there's been a lot of times where maybe I could have walked away with more
and I think I'll just look at it as long as I create.
I'm feeling good about myself.
That it took days long.
I mean, I don't want that for sure and sucked for sure.
But there's been a lot of games where I felt really good, creating a lot of chances,
setting up my line mates and teammates.
So, I haven't really got down on myself in that way.
You're calling me eventually and like I said, the only thing I'm focusing on is I'm fine
as long as I'm creating chances.
