This season, what was happening tonight that some neighbor doing or what you guys weren't doing at the third period just kind of
Swung away. Yeah, it wasn't good enough third period for sure, and you know, there's been times we find really good thirds. We just
You know, we probably weren't generating enough offense throughout the game
We didn't have a lot of punch certainly the Dickinson line was the best line probably by a lot
You know, but they
Other than that, we just weren't generating a ton. We even proud, but we did you know, I thought we still did a good job checking
There wasn't much going on. I think the great days after two periods for us was two for us and one for them
So not much that happened in the game
And that's just the way these games are. I mean, this is how you know, this how it's gonna be if we want to be a good team
You're in a lot of these games and you gotta go on and stay with it, and you know, I think we
Make a little bit of them you know, self-inflicted air goes and are not and it's too one we're fine
And I just didn't like the way we played after that and we played good enough and we gave up
You know, again kind of not a lot, but just goals that are available
What would you like to see to get the dark going a little bit more and out it's been a bit more games since he's come back?
Yeah, I mean, I think you know be the first to you
You know since he's been back
I think there's been moments where he's going good and
Moments where he hasn't and you know, I think that's the oven flow of
Reality at times in the year. That's what happens with guys sometimes and you're on a long time man
And and you know, it's hard to get your
Mojo back sometimes and he's just working as a mojo back and you know, we've kind of played the lines. Maybe that's hurt him
Not having consistency there
You know, sometimes you're trying to help
Spark guys and you end up hurting them by making too many changes, so
but you know again, he's
He can't fault the work ethic you can't fault the care just hasn't but you know, it just hasn't
Gone the way that it had prior to him getting hurt
You have him to shuffle line
Probably probably over-searching
Trying to find the right combination and
You know, again, I think sometimes you do that it hurt your team
So something to look at and kind of decide okay, what are we going to just do with that
Seems like the power plays in a little bit of a fun grant. I was there anything specifically that
Isn't working well. I don't think your breakouts have been very good
Probably your breakouts and retrievals haven't been good. No certainly the breakouts for sure
I mean our percent has been real low
You know the prior I think five games I don't think it was a ten-year segment
We actually scored a lot now that was like both units were scoring and
So we're gonna have to get back to you know better balance on the pp
We're gonna probably tweak it with some players or something like that
Also, we've got to bring the puck in better you know when we're loose puck recovery
And that's that little team with the left-shaftness
It seems like it times we're just some of those simple plays where he's
Trying to pass it too hard
Well, that one wasn't too hard, but there's you know certainly that that you know
There's moments where you know he passes a great and
You know moments where we miss you know, he probably yeah, sometimes I think when he's got a lot of time
He's just got to he's got to keep that focus in on
I mean, you know, it's almost like when you're under pressure
You're forced to be laser-in and sometimes when he's got time maybe
We're just gonna make sure that focus is just a laser-in
So you know, and it's a ultimately the box still came in and we lost about on the wall
Like we had an opportunity wasn't like a big bang bang, but yes, you know, that's what I'm talking about
I mean, so you know, you make the one mistake
You have the puck your stick it's a five-per-fiber pass, we can't take the tape and you have a sacred stake
You lose about on the wall, you know, some of those are two big mistakes
Bertuzzi
Dickinson and McKay have seemed to gel pretty well. They're doing great. Yeah, they've been really good
Played together. I think they're on the same page. They all play the same way
And they they played the fastest of all our team in the ozone
You know, I've talked to a predictability in those only they did that, you know
They were they were faster than they their puck speed was great
They knew where each other were and they did a really good job of that so
You know, it's been that that's aligned. That was definitely bright spot for us tonight
Just little details were missing. Maybe if that's come back in the diesel and maybe supporting a little bit
It's kind of like deep to support through the neutral zone just trying to get a little clean
I just think a lot of little things added up
And if it really against us
What do you see on the on the golden and I keep them in the way out there?
Yeah, I mean, I was just trying to keep it quite kind of close tight gap. The blue one knows the exits and
I just hopped out through it down
Kind of got it on my forehand. So I like I cheats the wall a little bit
So slip middle and then just making you open up. So just threw it over there quick
and happened click
When things are kind of going wrong in that third period
I guess what's the best way you guys can kind of regain confidence in game
Honestly, I think when something goes wrong
It's still like understanding we have to keep making plays you keep playing our game
It's I think it's sometimes the mindset of like
Hey like we made a mistake. We have to immediately just like simplify. I mean, there's a fine line between it being very simple
And also having plays with the puck clean breakouts
Making plays through the neutral zone when it dumps
And so I think it's just finding that balance to be honest but still having confidence in our game that something goes on
Yeah, yeah, which is
Disappointing because I think our thirds have actually been overfared and especially against the team
That's just played a tough schedule. I think I'm in real late
You know all the excuses. It's just got to get that job
That's the hard part of it. Tonight was one of those ones where you feel like you beat yourself
Just the goals that we gave up were just great
The way we normally know how to play and
Not really as in the cases for a while here. So it's uh, it's disappointing
Because it's time to hear if that's just go to the algae of trying to win because you've got to grind it out
You have to be in there more detail than the other team. You have to be willing to do the hard things
We just want to do that
Yeah, I mean that's a huge goal right here to a lot of times it's a momentum goal and to come back and the next one
It kind of not really have the answer that we were supposed to support you but I think that's what's things because it's just a game where it really is
Who's going to stick to it more and they obviously did
Generally for the specifically did to get you guys off or was it also well
They're just they're really confident in who they are. They're really confident in the way they play
So they just know that over time battle of attrition
They're just going to break you down or get those opportunities, right?
And I think it's a good lesson for us to just take away from this game of how you have to stay with it
Championship teams do it
You know that's that's probably the biggest takeaway for us is like that's why we talk about the things we talk about
The details of our system the way we need to play they do they don't really bring what they do
And there are still opportunities to win that game especially against the team that you know
It's a little tired but they find ways to win because they trust their system and then
each other and they get the job done and that's just where we cannot
You know, lost ourselves a little bit
Yeah, and I think just our play right it's just the way we need to be a little more predictable
You know when he was out and that's what our bread and butter was so to speak right we were just a little more lunch
Vale and
You know, he's gonna find his way throughout that
But I think we haven't been as predictable
Makes it tough he's a guy that's keyed on a lot of the games and
So he's trying to find his way through but we can help as a team by being a little bit more
predictable like I said and I think it just gets a flow of the game more lines over and over now
We're confident. We're we're having a momentum and then Connor gets to do his thing
So, you know, we need we need everyone to be a little bit better
This is the time of year where you you can entrench yourself into that playoff push and we don't want to let these games slip away
Do you think fighting confidence in mid game like that when things are going that way
It's kind of something very young team like this. It's important
I mean, I think it's it's the learning curve for us as a young team about understanding
You know how to build your confidence right and who we are
We I think we all really enjoy the system that we have in place and how it allows us to play and it's a fun game
Right and so I think we just need to understand that stick with a little bit more sometimes
You know, he has a young player and he doesn't leave us as older players
You just get a little bored with it because you're it's not breaking. It's not happening
You don't trust that it's going to have it and I think that's just because we don't have an experience where it came like Florida
They they have that they have the results to back it up and you know
We need to trust this process a little bit more and realize that it's it's going to help succeed and it has and that's just you know
The stubbornness is as youth and it's like telling your kids over and over right so
But I think you know for us it's a good lesson going into a tough little road trip
Luckily, if the mom's trip coming up so it's going to be our best behavior
