The real business here. What's going on with the injuries? Injuries. Well, first, I mean, is Nike paying, paying you? People say that I see killing and bop is going to on cloud now. What are those shoes called? The Swiss shoes. I even have a couple pairs of. So you're making up for you're making up for the loss of them. The problem is I'm really big into fashion, which means like I'll go to one outlet and buy my outfit. And that'll be my outfit for a year. And then maybe it might be a deed. It's next time who knows. Right now. That injuries injuries. Justice Terry. I don't I don't think we're going to see him. He didn't have we didn't hear anything about him in practice this week. And that's usually the tell the good news is Derek Cooper is is back. And this is the week to have it right. And he's going to want to stake a claim to some carries after Relique Brown and.

3:02I mean, Hollywood's mother's both had good games and you know, really cast some issues, but. Both those guys ran hard. So he needs to stake a claim by getting some snaps back in and make his supplies. And the good thing we hear about him is he's got the best practice habits in that room. And you're talking about a room full of veterans and guys that are working hard. And he's got the best and you got extreme talent. So I love I love the marriage there. There's a there's a handful of guys that are dinged up that I think are going to be on pitch counts. I don't really want to give that away because you know, Sarc might just try to hide that by saying we played some younger guys to develop them. There are two guys that are I'm going to be curious about how many snaps they play. They were limited in practice. One happened late in the week. The didn't happen. It had anything to do with the last game. So we'll see how that goes. Nick Townsend is out. That's basically the Trevor Goosby injury, which is good news. You know, you see somebody reach for the knee, you always get word. Yeah. But in this case, it's just basically a two to three week thing from what we hear. Overall, I mean, it's it's a lot of little, you know, guys with with some knocks, but nothing real serious.

4:08And it's still a relative. It's still a healthy team. You know, we haven't, you know, knock on wood. We still haven't received any bad news. And then we have word of who will be Nansen's replacement this week in game. Yeah, Garrett Cox. He's got a very interesting resume. He's been around the block. He's always been kind of behind the scenes. You know, he's a Georgia grad. But you know, a lot of his tutelage came under Nick Saban at Alabama. He's a defensive analyst there during the peak dominant Alabama years. I think he was there for the 2015 title, the 2017 title. Just peak Nick Saban stuff. So that's part of already the mud that you know, Saban's an extension of that Saban tree anyways. So they've got a really good connection. They were at Georgia together and he was the one guy that's that must have had to bring with him to Texas. And the reason for that is. That's the guy that coaches the other coaches that you know, you can't get them all up to speed. Once you can do it a lot faster if two coaches are doing it. It's kind of like when PK came he had to have his guide show. It's very similar.

5:08So, so Cox has been coach, you know, when he first arrived, he was coaching up all the coaches on the playbook. And then also he heads up the the scout team defense. So he's got a coordinator understanding of the defense. He's got a background in coaching linebackers. And what it was he was told to me is the Mike Bumonte of the defense and Mike Bumonte's Sarc's right hand man. You'll see him pretty prominently on the telecast. I think he was the one high five in Sarc after the extra point last week that put him ahead. So he's kind of a must have for right hand guy that I don't expect the huge drop off in play. I do wonder if it affects how much they play the younger guys. Yeah, I was going to say, how does that do you think that's opportunity for linebacker rotation to get mess with. Yeah, you know, I know they want to play Rocky Cummings more. I know they also want to get Brad spent some Mike linebacker reps because you just don't know who's going to be needed. It's already a thin room. So you've got a manufacturer depth and get it up to speed fast. And also, you know, they want to get a cocio Apollo snaps behind ring Biles.

6:09So you wonder how that plays with with their main coach being out now cocks has a relationship with these guys. He does coach them on the field. But it's a little bit different. It plays into a larger theme that I think they want to have a good performance. They want to ensure there's no let down. And so I think part of that is like, hey, maybe we play the veterans a little bit longer than we would otherwise. Yeah. And then I don't know if you're on social media this week Eric, but there are like, I don't know, one or two distractions that happened. How's the team handling that specifically? I think here of canoe and manning did something in particular to try to solve some of that. Well, thanks for walking me into that. Not spoil it entirely. What could that one thing be? I wonder. I don't give it to us. We have we're waiting. And normally you hear about these player player led meetings and it's a terrible thing. Your season's already gone away. I think, oh, you are. I think, no, I think Michigan had one after the Western Michigan win. I was told my buddy. So that's not a good sign. I never heard of a player led meeting after beating number one. Yeah. But you know, I think practice was a little so so the number one thing regarding against is the let down.

7:12You know, the let down from the big win. It's it's an emotional game. It's a physically fatiguing game. So I think that's what they're guarding against the hardest to let down. The coaches were coaching very hard. They're all garnered against that. And so the coaches are, you know, not necessarily penetrating the team like they are social media or, you know, the fans psyche. It's not they're not dealing with it's not like rival players that they're going to go ahead up against our talking trash to like rival fans are talking trash to you on Twitter. Right. You know, or me on Twitter or one of our other guys, especially on Twitter. So it's, you know, they're they get to stay focused. Now obviously they hear some of that noise. I actually think it's good that they hear some of that because I think, you know, archer rating and Steve Sarkisian are largely mischaracterized right now. I think they're both good dudes and that's not necessarily the sentiment out there. They're talking, you know, you see people talking about Steve Sarkisian like he's laying Kipfen or something. And I think that that could have a galvanizing effect. You know, they see them being mischaracterized. They should want to step up and do something about it. But, you know, it and then the late week distraction with Johnny and answer. That wasn't even really brought up.

8:15And, you know, they already know coach Cox. I think they're ready to roll. But yeah, they're guarding against the let down as much as anything they want to come out and play hard. I've got some extra incentive to make sure that they come out and play well. Now everybody's going to. Everybody's going to decide whether or not they came out, you know, focused or not based on archmaning stat line. That's pretty much going to dictate the whole thing. But hopefully the offensive line comes to Zaid and everybody does their part. And they have a good performance from start to finish big financial decisions don't have to fill overwhelm. So that's what you got to do. And then a couple more odds and ends you mentioned as well. Yeah, more I Winston had a good game. You know, everybody's talking up his game and I get it. That's fine. I was a little frustrated by the job because I've been talking up his hands since the beginning of time. And so hopefully a little more experience under fire and maybe some rotation. I know he was tired at the end with with Townsend being out. But yeah, he had a good week of practice. He's it's kind of like Derek Cooper where you're like, all right, man, here's my chance to really make some noise. This is a great game. Townsend's going to be back pretty quick. I just had it. I just made some huge plays against Ohio State.

10:27And he's building off that that success that confidence. So yeah, he had a good week. Cohen Brown had a good week. They keep keep finding ways to get him on the field. You know, he's on more special teams now. You could see him. If you just isolate him on kickoff team, you'll see him. He's the first guy down. He's running like a maniac in the event they try to bring a ball out. He's earning more snaps. And we might even see him get some rotation at what I received. But again, that that ties back into game context. And you kind of hit it. But ultimately the theme of this week is. Sark wants to send that message. They're talking so much about avoiding a let down. They're making me nervous. And it's to me. It's like. What does let down mean like if you score score in the low 40s and get a guy's a bunch of reps, I feel good about it. Yeah, I'm so high. The let down thing isn't looming as large for me. So me the let down is that is whether or not they play focused and you know, you'll know it when you see it whether whether they come out hot. I don't care about the scoreboard as much people. You know, that's a that's a lagging indicator. I want to see them come out and play well. Protect the football. They've had issues with putting the ball on the floor. They've got to protect the ball. If they if they limit penalties and limit charnovers, I think that's automatically a sign of a good focused effort.

11:38And the rest is going to fall on a place, you know, they're going to move the ball. There's a number of other things I want to see. Obviously, I want to see them get the outside zone running game going, but I just want to see them come out and play clean to start. I don't really care about what the final score is. This isn't a very dangerous UTS 18. It's going to be a hard playing UTS 18 like they always are. But a lot of their talent got poached, you know, we just played a guy last week, David McEwen, who was the topwater seeker. They don't really have the talent to make this thing. All that interesting. I just want to see Texas come out do what it can early. That way we get the younger guys out, get to develop them and also preserve somewhere in terror on the older guys. And again, some of these guys that are starting are a little more banged up than it looks like. Yeah, and Tennessee's right around the corner. Right.
