But right now the news of the day so far is Bust the brown is not leaving Jacksonville.

He's going to stay here in Jacksonville at a three year 33 million dollar deal.

That was done prior to him actually being a free agent.

Later on today during the early tampering period.

So the Jaguars do good.

They keep one of their own here.

I know a lot of people have already said Bust the brown is not a better corner back

than Travis ETN is running back and those are one of those metrics that I have

warned people have absolutely nothing to do with retention.

It is about position of value and this for people that believe that.

This is exactly the reason why we try to educate you here and tell you these things.

Before hand so you don't let your head pop as to why they letting one guy go

and not keeping another guy.

But Bust the brown man.

He's done it the Parker Washington way and I gotta admit shout out to the previous

regime once again for having someone that the current regime values right.

It wasn't all bad.

Bust the brown is going to be a really really good player.

He's a seventh round pick man and he came up.

He stayed down until he got up but he kept working hard, kept working hard.

And there's this prevailing thought that what they were going to let him go until

they saw how much everybody else wanted.

I don't think that's true at all.

In fact that would draw the criticism for me if anything that you're allowing

what other people think about a player to affect whether or not you like him.

I do think the Jaguars had an idea of what his number was going to be and then

that number had to go up because of what the market was rumored to be bearing

in the interest that he would have on the market.

So that's a part of it that happens.

You always have to gauge your assessment of a player with the value that everyone

else has to see if it's worth it.

And at the end of the day it was.

The Jaguars are always going to try to do what they can to obviously not

really I wouldn't necessarily call it cheap labor.

I hate when people say that but they're going to always negotiate in bargain.

And Monterey Brown, his people probably negotiated in bargain based on some things

that the Jaguars may have anticipated but did not know.

Nonetheless, he is a Jacksonville Jaguar for at least contractually for another three years.

So the cornerback position is settled.

You have Travis Monterey.

Monterey has a starter at 11 million per.

Jordan Lewis, who restructured his contract over the weekend to help the Jaguars

with salary cap space.

He is your nickel.

That leaves Johnny Jones is probably your swing corner.

And that's cool because he's another one that is always grinding, always trying

to figure out a way to get himself on the field.

They were hunting big fish along the past rush this weekend and still are

according to reports.

Jalen Carter is in the Jaguar sites and they have been trying to

they've reached out to Philadelphia according to people from around the league.

You got to watch the reports these days but this one I kind of believe.

And of course, there was rumors that they made it a push for Max Cosby,

who ended up going to Baltimore.

We'll discuss that.

All right the jaguars were in the rush market they were in a rush to get

something done over the last couple of days and the rush is the operative word

because according to reports they are still in in some sort of discussion or

making an attempt to see what the deal is with Jalen Carter up in Philadelphia and

bring him back down south it be very very interesting to see what kind of

package they put together they do not have a first round pick this year they do

have the second round pick the 56 pick and a couple the third round choices

and then they have the 27 first round pick and then they have players current

players so if Philadelphia wants current players it be there's going to be a

lot of speculation whether it's Trayvon Johnson BTJ I heard all kinds of crazy

stuff you got to watch the rumors when it comes to people posting about players

on your team because nine times out of 10 some of those things come from accounts

that are fans of the team that want said players and they'll have you thinking

that the team's negotiating for a fifth round draft pick for one of your key

starters here in Jacksonville so you got to make sure you don't pay attention

to it but Max Crosby did not surprise me I like the jaguars edge rushers I think

they need interior pressure but I've often said things don't come to you the way

that in the order that you need them it's kind of like trying to go to the gym

and lose weight in one specific area it really doesn't work like that so

Max Crosby is one of the best past rushers of this generation

yeah you try to get Max Crosby of course you have a cup of coffee

and see what's going on Jalen Carter to me shows you that they need

past rush from wherever and I think it mostly comes from the interior however

if you have a chance to get Max Crosby that is an upgrade to whoever you have

unless you have Miles Garrett or Michael Parsons Max Crosby is an upgrade to

anybody else and that shows you that the jaguars would do whatever it takes

for this team to get better and that's the that's the way that it should be

I mean you ain't got to you ain't got to not do your job because

you treat people with respect and you're nice just like you don't have to be

mean just because you're in a position of authority so don't get it twisted

these guys are all about winning they understand the business just like if a player

decides he wants to leave and go take money from somewhere else

they got to understand that players have to understand that the jaguars are going to do

whatever to get better I think Jalen Carter for me

gets it done if they are able to get him because

that makes everything easier for for the guys outside that seem like they have to work

for every single thing in double teams

so we're going to be watching them monitoring this throughout the day

of course the actual free agency period starts for a couple of days

but you will see pre the legal pre-tampering portion of this

it starts in noon which is about a couple of hours from
