Iran Executes Teen Guitarist, Surge in Hangings

On April 2nd, Iran hanged 18-year-old guitarist Emmer Holsen Hattami this Wednesday in Gazelle

Arrested in early January for allegedly torching a besiege base during anti-regime protests,

he faced charges of enmity against God and threats to.

National security, with claims he worked for Israel and the U.S.

His trial wrapped up fast, just weeks after arrest, in what amnesty international slams

as grossly unfair, relying on forced confessions from brutal.

Interrogations, hopes faded that his youth would spare him, as the regime pushes executions

despite past promises to go easy on so-called deceived youth.

Amnesty's outraged over this arbitrary killing of a teen protester, and families fear

for dozens more on death row.

Four other men recently shifted to solitary in the same prison, while the exiled crown

prince caused him innocent symbols of resistance condemned by, sham courts to silence the people.

This comes right after four political prisoners from the Ban Mujahedin group were executed

earlier this week, their sentences upheld by the Supreme Court.

Three young wrestlers also died last week amid the crackdown.

Human rights watchers see a surge in hangings, at least 145 confirmed this year, as the regime

battles internal unrest in wars, with Israel and the U.S.

They warn its desperation to crush dissent, urging the world to spotlight these crimes

before more lives hang in the balance.
