Iran's state TV outlines five conditions to end war, US attack on Iraqi military base

Behind the scenes diplomatic efforts appear to be underway to end the Iran conflict, but

in public there's been a sharp escalation of rhetoric. The US has urged Iran to accept

defeat White House spokesperson Carolyn Levit has warned of dire consequences if it doesn't.

Iran, however, says it's the US that faces defeat foreign minister Abbas Aarchi says

no negotiations are underway. Despite assertions from President Donald Trump, Aarchi says those

claims prove that the US is losing the fight. Well, that's all as airstrikes keep pounding

Iran and Israel. Multiple blasts hit in the Northeastern

city of Mashab, late on Wednesday, and sirens sounded in Central Israel early on Thursday

as missiles were fired from Lebanon. Well, earlier around state TV outlined, five specific

conditions under which Iran would agree to end the war. These include a complete halt

to aggression and assassinations by the enemy, the establishment of concrete mechanisms

to ensure the war is not reimposed on the Islamic Republic, guaranteed and clearly defined

payment of war damages and reparations, the conclusion of the war across all fronts

and for all resistance groups involved throughout the region, and international recognition

and guarantees regarding Iran's sovereignty, sovereign right to exercise authority over

the strait of Hormuz. Well, six countries in the Middle East have called

on Iran to stop Iran-backed armed groups from launching attacks on the region.

Kuwait, the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Jordan issued the joint statement on

Wednesday. All six have come under Iranian fire during the war. Well, the countries condemn

what they say are blatant Iranian aggressions with a carried out directly or through its

agents and the armed factions. It supports in the region. The statement calls on the Iraqi

government to take the necessary measures to halt attacks launched from its territory.

It says that's needed to preserve fraternal relations and avoid further escalation.

Iraq has summoned the top US diplomat and Baghdad to protest a deadly strike on a military

clinic in Ambar province west of the capital. State media say at least 20 Iraqi soldiers

were killed or wounded in the attack. The government has called the strike a serious violation

of international law. It says it reserves the right to respond and will file a complaint

with the United Nations.
