Iran says attacks on energy sites not over, Oil and gas prices spike

Iran has been carrying out a wave of attacks on major energy facilities in Gulf countries.

Sites in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates have all been hit.

In response, oil and natural gas prices have shot up around the world, with European

gas futures spiking by 35 percent and oil now more than $110 a barrel.

Qatar says there is extensive damage at Ras-Lafan, the world's largest liquefied natural gas production

facility. Iran's attacks come after Israel bombed its south-pars gas field.

President Trump has warned Iran against targeting Qatar's Ras-Lafan again.

And in a social media post, he said the U.S. was not involved in the Israeli strike on south-pars.

Qatar has since expelled several Iranian diplomatic staff.

The foreign ministry says Iran's military and security attaches and their team should

leave Qatar within 24 hours. As we've been reporting, Iranian attacks on Gulf energy facilities

have caused the price of oil and gas to soar. Europe's benchmark price for natural gas rose

by 35 percent at the market open. The global crude benchmark Brent Crude rose as high as $116

a barrel. That's the highest price since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

The Iran war and its impact on energy prices is expected to dominate discussions that
