Is anyone actually going to buy the new iPhone flip phone?

So it's a big pressure on him. Oh, did I know that? Did you not know that? Oh, maybe I didn't know that. What happened to Timmy? Timmy retired, or resigned, or got pushed. Be handshake, be golden handshake? In the vicinity of about $180 million, $1,000,000, for Tim Cook, performance CEO, yeah. So the last few events have been kind of a little bit subtle, and that's a nice work. A bit of a dud people have been saying. So they wanted this big launch of their new products to be a big deal. It seems to be going really well. I've been looking at CNN and various sites around the world, CNN business and I love it. But do you want a big, like, you could say, every year, right? Yeah. Do you want a massive change every year, you know? And that's what Tim Cook argued. He said, we can't come up with something. But today was the first time in 20 years that they've released what they call the iPhone foldable duo. And it's got the shoe jazz display. Here's a little bit about it. Got no idea what she just said. I said battery. I could take shares of what a camera player is doing. And I noticed that she said the thinnest ever won some fold in. So is that quite the chunky chunk, chunky monkey, when it's folded? Well, now that's a good question, because Apple have explained some of this. I can't go into all the details because it's brewing as hell. But basically they say it's small enough to fit into your pocket. That's a key ingredient from Apple. Right. It can still fall into your pocket. They said previous foldable phones have kind of like a seam in the middle where the fold has been, and that's been unsightly and really upset a lot of people. They've got this new tech that that is not going to happen. So you won't see a crease, you won't see a seam. It's a huge thing to promise, isn't it? Well, it really is. And they also say this is the flip phone. So it's been announced this morning about an hour ago,

2:01Apple, for the first time in 20 years. They've always resisted because they didn't think the world wanted a flip phone again. But Samsung's proved otherwise. It's been popular, not supremely popular, but popular enough for Apple to do one. Would you rather sit back and watch? Because there's so much that could go wrong with it. Not to be negative, but there's no one's really done it well yet. You're a Hannibalson rider. And there is often new products you do get teething problems. It could be a cow or something. Now I'm not an early adopter. Never have been it. I'm not that guy that has to keep up with the Joneses. I promise you. But I've been waiting for this. You've wanted the frragus. I've been saying since we started working here and my phone's got a crack all over it, and I was like, no, I'll wait. So anyway, I'll let you know. But the other thing that's coming out to just been announced is a new Apple Watch. It's called Audio Intelligence. This and this is something I do think is good tech. So the new Apple Watch can listen to sounds in the world around you to help you remember or recap conversations. So they have. There it is. And they've been listening the whole time. Because sometimes I talk about brunch, and my phone says one brunch, and they say,

3:02well, you never listen to you, they're listening. See, I think that's worth it. Because the amount of time Simon says, what did you guys just say? And he would just be sorted, you know? Well, I would be. Because this feature in the new Apple Watch is called Live Rewind. And it lets users listen to audio from the past 15, 30 seconds. In case they miss something in a conversation, you can just hit this button, Live Rewind on your watch. I need joke, you're into that. It's a special menu. Yeah, you're into that. Hell yes. I am not into that. Why not? It just feels like, well, we're finally, that's the last thing we've got left over them. It's our memory. And now they're going to do it for you. Where if they play you back the wrong message? And come to think of it, it must be stored somewhere for them to have the capacity. So maybe that could fall into the wrong hands. 4:02sirens, alarms, and other critical sounds for those who are deaf or hard of hearing. Well, let's say news is late. News is late. It probably will. We'll turn that function off. It's already gone. One thing I didn't mention with this new launch, by the way, if you're interested. And I know many people are reading all these big sort of events. And for the first time ever, you can now lease an iPhone through Apple. They've needed that. Like a fleet vehicle. Like a fleet vehicle. That's actually a good analogy, Lennie. Yeah, and they've never done that before, but they're saying partly the reason is because these new phones are going to cost like $3,000 for the flip, for example, which is a nearly $1,518, $1,000 more than their most expensive phone. And you've been looking forward to the flip. I've never seen it work well with touch screen. Kate's just text in. Kate has said, I'm warning guys, I worked in a major telco's complaint team. We had so many complaints on the flip phones before. So that must be the Samsung ones that work out. I'd be cautious and wait for the bugs to get identified and fixed better living side.

5:03So maybe that's the whole wait and see. And maybe get the next model, or maybe just wait six months and see a little track. And that's probably very fair, Kate. It's just I've literally waited for two years because I didn't want to go and buy. I had a feeling. It was just a gut feeling that something was going to happen. This was two years ago. My phone now, I have to charge it probably at least twice a day. So and that's what pain is. You've got to get rid of her. Yeah. So yeah, she's on the way. Karen's on the line. Hi, Karen. Well, I'm like, you 1200 seems like reasonable enough. Yeah. This new flip phone, Karen, it's like actually going to be closer to $3,000 New Zealand. Yes. Oh, wow. Yeah. And also, it's time goes on. The prices do come down. Yeah. Although that is the tricky thing with Apple, they kind of, they tend to remain hard and fast. Apple, Apple have this thing, Karen, where they go, we don't need to do sales. And do you know what's the most annoying thing about that? Is it true? Because people still line up at the shop. Yeah. 7:05before I go and buy the next one. And based on Samsung's flip performance, I'm not sure the flip phone is the way to go. I always see. Yeah. But and also on the price point is I just touched on briefly, you can lease. This is not an ad. I just think this is an issue of Apple's going, well, these are expensive items. So you can lease them and what they say, Lana. Yeah. As you can make a 12 or 24 month payment, and at the end of that period, you can actually just upgrade to a new phone and extend your lease if you want to give the old one back. Right. OK. That's the first time they've ever done that in their company. Well, that's innovative. Yeah. I'm just not keen on that watch, where you can rewind conversations. Yeah. That's true. Yeah. And why can you wear your recording watch? That's a fair point. I mean, a lot of people agree with you on text. That is real creepy. Maybe I should just watch out what I talk about.
