I actually got a really funny one, Logan the other day. This dude hit me up and was like,
hey, I appreciate the shout out in the mailbag episode. I think he's out in Seattle. And he's like,
next time you guys come out here, you know, drinks or rotisserie chickens on me.
Yes, I've had listener of the pod and I'll take you up on that rotisserie chicken. Watch out,
boys. On the road, the guy literally goes to the grocery store, gets a rotisserie chicken and sits
in the parking lot of East and on the curb. That is so tough. It's a good living though.
I'm waiting for you in Seattle if you ever have to go out to Quest or whatever they'll
call that place now. Well, dude, I mean, he's sleeping on it, man, like he's
thinking, oh, I'm going to save a buck on, you know, beers or whatever, but like,
I'll house a rotisserie chicken in a heartbeat, man. So like don't, don't tempt me.
Might come out to Seattle just for that. I do think that like walking the grocery store hungry,
that's always one of the higher like semi healthy things in terms of that like hot bag of rotisserie
chicken. You see those oils in the bottom and all the juices. Like I'm always like, I could just
grab that and just start eating that thing and be happy on style on the way home.
Yeah, just be happy, happy young man getting your macros worked out. It's nice and moist
in that plastic bag, which probably isn't that good for you, but man, it goes down nice and smooth
coach. Well, how do you, well, what should we do? We should put it in glass. We're going to put it
in paper. I don't know. I don't know what we do. There's not a perfect way to handle it. You know,
like you can't, you know, there's, there's gifts and takes with everything, you know, I'm saying so.
That's right. Right. You're going to, you want a little size, you might give up on a little
speed and vice versa. Yeah. Speaking of which, I wanted to get into a couple of the hot rumours,
so to speak of this draft season here with you. So let's start with Jeremiah love. I don't know
if you're up on the Jeremiah love discussion this week, but Adam Schefter continues to float these
ideas that despite everybody saying the Tennessee Titans are all over love, he doesn't feel it,
doesn't see it. He also, like everybody's saying, oh, the giants make a lot of sense, doesn't
necessarily think that's in play. He keeps circling the Washington commanders, listen to Schefter
on ESPN this week. Another great storyline heading into the draft, another reason for people to
tune in to all the draft coverage. But to me, he's a top 10 pick. I know a lot of people have,
have had him going to Tennessee. Again, it's just not what I'm sensing right now that done.
And by the way, it's March 23rd. The draft is a month ever now. There are a lot of teams that go
back and forth on these things. And just because they're not in a spot on March 23rd,
doesn't mean they won't be in a different spot on April 23rd. So it's hard to say today,
as we sit here today, my guess would be I don't see him going to Tennessee. I don't see him going
to the giants at number five, although that would be an interesting spot. And I think you'd have
a lot of support there. To me, a place that makes sense today, a month out, would be the Washington
commanders. They've added to their running back room. I could see Washington being interested
in a player like Jeremiah Love. Seven would be the spot. If we go back to other years and other great
running backs, Bijan Robinson went number eight to Atlanta. Christian McCaffrey went number eight
to Carolina. Yeah. And so for me, this is this is silly season, man, because like everyone says,
like, why if I if I am the Tennessee Titans, or if I am the, you know, New York Giants,
everyone's all they're talking about is like, Oh, is there a player worthy of trading up for?
And the only name that circulates is Jeremiah Love. Everyone wants to trade it for Jeremiah Love.
Everyone thinks he's a stud, right? So to me, why at this point of the off season, would you do
anything to negate the idea that you could get a trade offer for Jeremiah Love? So if I'm
Tennessee, I'm going to be like, Hey, man, I love Jeremiah Love. He's the best. Even though I don't
think so, because I want someone to trade up. So to me, this feels like, Hey, guys, don't you worry,
we hate Jeremiah Love. He'll for sure be there at seven. And then we can pick him without
risk of someone trading up to three or trading up to four to take that pick.
So you think there is some informed speculation here? I always say with shifter.

One of the things that's cool about when I was on the beat is I would never, there's so many
things you can't cite. A coach would tell me something to play or tell me something. I'm not
trying to burn anybody. I would be asked by whoever the host was, hey, how do you think this guy
played? I would regurgitate a lot of what I had just heard as my opinion. That is a normal way
that an insider like Shepard does things. The problem is, though, when a guy like Shepard who is
more plugged in than anybody else, the ultimate insider is now playing editorialist. You know,
now he's giving opinions. He's the analyst when he's sitting there doing this interview with
McAfee, and I kind of hate that he has pain even uses him in these ways, because then you just
assume, well, this is him leaking something. This is clearly something he heard. When he might
just be a dude doing a podcast, he might just be a guy throwing darts who hasn't heard anything or
hasn't asked a GM about this yet. So you just never know, like, what is the real here? Is this just
Adam Schaefter opinion giver who's guessing like the rest of us? Or did he just get off the phone
with someone with the Titans who said, yeah, I think we're actually probably not going to love.
It doesn't really work for us. Yeah, and I think that's the tough thing about his position,
but I do think when he can, it says, oh, hey, you know, like what I've heard or what I'm feeling
like those types of things. Yeah, that's yeah. Yeah, it's like you have that feeling all by yourself
now. Do you right? No, no, no, no, no opinion coming into that thing. So I'm doing it right
after I called them. That was yeah, right. I had this conversation. I just had this feeling,
right? And so to me, let's get ahead to the Washington part. So he, you know, he's plugged
them with the commanders gets a lot of news. They obviously take care of him. Like at most teams do
is that just him doing what I'm doing where I go, well, he's a great weapon. They don't have enough
speed. They don't have enough pieces on offense. It's Terry McClaren and not much else in terms of
guys around Jaden Daniels that scare anybody. Why wouldn't you want to bring in this incredible
piece to this offense, this game changer of a weapon for an offense that's kind of the void of
them. It's Jaden Daniels, a McClaren bounce back season. And then a lot of hoping that guys come
through after an offseason and are better. Yeah, no, I think that's right. And so that's where it
felt like to me, like in the inner in his commentary on the on the Mac me show, it felt like,
okay, Tennessee had said something to him. New York had said something to him, which I always think
is tainted because anytime you talk to a reporter, there's always the chance that it comes out in
some way. So like that is even a little bit up and down for me with regards to like what they,
they know that's coming out, right? So like they're not just telling you something for the house.
You that to not even if he's not, you know he's not going to go say the Titans are telling you
this, but you know he's going to go on a TV show and talk about the draft and you can strategically
to your point tell him something knowing he's going to say it. Yeah, right. And I think that's
totally reason why that and this time of year specifically, this happens more than any other time
in the NFL cycle, right? And as we get a little bit closer and closer, guys will start trusting
their sources and more reliable information will come out. But the one thing I do think is that when
he starts talking about the commander specifically in that hit, he is he is speculating, right? Because
as we all know covering this team like this team does a really good job of keeping everything
in house, all opinions in house, right? They don't share with anybody. And so I do think that like
yes, he's probably putting on his analyst had a little bit and saying like Jeremiah, love to the
commander should be a great fit, right? And I don't disagree with him. It's something we've talked
about for weeks. And in some ways, I think that helps Washington because if somebody wants Jeremiah
love, you're basically saying if he's on the board and you want him, you have to come up and trade
form, right? So if you're the St. Louis Rams, for example, and this is your Super Bowl year and
you know, Matthew Stafford's retiring after this year and Sean McBase is going to retire with Matthew
Stafford. And this is your one shot to make it go like what's the piece that's missing from that
group? It's running back. So come get it. And you're willing to trade picks and show us how you know,
all in you are. So to me, like this is great for Washington. And also I'm not really buying the
Titans or the Giants kind of smoke there. Let me ask you this. Because I was wondering this
myself the other day. Do you think right now they even know who their top guy on their board is?
Like the corners are just NFL teams. But let's say Washington, okay? Because so much is going to
happen in front of them. As of three weeks ago, you hadn't even had free agency yet. You didn't know
you were going to land it up. You were hoping, but you didn't know you'd get OA and Caleb on chase
so if you did have a board two weeks ago, it's completely changed, by the way, essentially. And
maybe not the way you evaluate talent, but the need part of it has changed. As I think about this.

Is it possible that they have their top 50 like their Logan Paulson big board the Adam Peter's
lead? Everybody's in the boardroom putting this thing together. But I would think before you
get back from pro days, they're flying all over the country this week. They're in
there at Ohio State on Wednesday. I this idea that they already know like you're reporting
and he's not, but there are people that say like the commanders are zeroing in on Jeremiah love.
Like to me, that's foolish. I think it's too early for that. That's not a thing.
It's way too early. And I think when you look and you know this, but like for maybe people who
are listening to you don't know this. And I've said this before, but everyone thinks like this is a
the draft board is a live document 263 365 days out of the year. It's not really. And so what I
mean by that is like when you go to the combine, the area scouts have watched guys, the regional
scouts have watched guys, the GM's to a certain extent of watch guys, but they have they GM's probably
aren't super locked in on the draft until after free agency because they have to make decisions on the
however many free agents are going to be available. They have to be informed on that. So they're watching
a lot of pro guys. The coaches are watching pro guys. And so it's really funny like when I talk to
my buddies about like who they like, who they don't like, where things are going. It's usually two
weeks after the combine where they've kind of started to break down their positions, right? I'm talking
coaches now specifically. So that board is coming together, but to think that it doesn't come together
without the coaches input input is not correct, right? They kind of do their thing. They'll present to
the OC. There's another week of meetings. The scouts, the scouts come back. They sit in the room,
they have a discussion and they start piecing this board together, right? And so it's not like, oh,
the draft or the combine happened. Shoot, we got our big board, top 100 guys ready to rock and roll.
It's a collaborative process for incorporating meetings that we have at the senior bowl. We
incorporate meetings we're having at the combine. We incorporate the 30 visits. We incorporate
the pro days. And obviously the main foundation there is the film, but the people that are coming in,
who having watch prospects, the coaches, the scouts, the GM, the OC, to kind of put this thing
together and say, this is what for watching a commander looks like is a very fluid process. So
to me, the fact that Tennessee is like, oh, yeah, we're not on them. It's crap. You know what I mean?
It's just not a thing right now. And it'll, it'll, and it'll solidify as we get closer, right? But
I think, yeah, to say that they're honing in or they're locking in on a specific player is just,
I don't know how you could say that right now, because I don't think they're even done with all
the reports. You're saying it, the grownups that that cover this thing are not, you know,
chefter's not saying that, right? That kind of stuffs out there. And oftentimes it's for
you're going, what, what site is this? Who is this? It's just, it's not reality, in my opinion.
I would love to be a fly on the wall. Like I would pay good money legitimately to be sitting in
like Adam Peter's office where he's got NFL network up on TV or whatever. Any heirs, just any of
the rumors where it's like, you know, I think the commanders really like who I'm just going to say
Mansor D'Alene or whatever. And you're like, he's literally not even on our board for the reason
acts like there has to be so funny for these guys. You hear all, and you know, I'm sure I'm guilty
of it a million times over when they turn the radio or whatever, but just the hearing of the
opining of all the experts that have no idea because nobody knows right now, because they don't
know right now. Deb, absolutely. And I think about, you know, like when this organization was
making one of the biggest decisions from a personnel standpoint two years ago, and everyone's
like, what's Washington going to do it too? Like no one had any idea until they made the pick,
right? There was no leak of that information prior, right? And guys had, you know, like little
little breadcrumbs here about, oh, we like this kind of thing in a quarterback or we like this
about this and blah, blah, blah, blah. But only they did a good job playing it really close to the
best. So to me, any kind of information that's like coming from the team or about the team,
it's all speculation. This team does a great job, man, great job of keeping it tight lit,
tight lift and really in sync. And I think it's helpful in moments like this. So people don't know
what you're thinking. They don't know who you want. And there is value to that in the draft,
because it's like now there are a bunch of other teams that are saying, well, if we want this football
player, we have to get up and get him from Washington, which is a benefit to Washington in this
draft where we've talked about trading back as being such a value. Oh, AP works in anonymity.
You know, it trades like that. Laramie Tonsadil came out of nowhere. Yeah.
