Imagine your friend tells you she's taking an innocent family trip to Greenville, South Carolina. We'll call her Emma. The trip sounds great to you. Hiking at Jones Gap, dinner at Topsoil, a room at the best hotel in town. Harmless, right? Here's the thing. Emma and her family never return from Greenville. They disappear. You search for answers, but nothing adds up. Emma had a great life back home. You guys were best friends. What happened? Well the truth is, once Emma realized she could have access to Michelin recognized restaurants, nature, local shops, and performing arts all in one place, everywhere else started to seem a little. Meh, Emma's vacation is a cautionary tale. If you're coming this way, don't forget to tell your friends and neighbors goodbye. Visit Greenville, South Carolina, but you may never want to leave. Learn more at visit GreenvilleSC.com. And we are back. I am Brandon Wichert, filling in for Mario Nafel. I am has always at the
ready co-host. He gave me a ping and said, I need you to take care of this one for me today, because I got to take care of something personal. So I jumped in and I am happy to do so, because I get to meet Elijah. Elijah Magneer, veteran, war correspondent, and military analyst. Elijah, thanks for doing this with me. It's my pleasure, Brandon, thank you for having me. Of course, sir. Well, it looks like in a typical fashion, the Israelis, even though they're supposed to be under a ceasefire here, they keep bombing. They keep launching attacks. And now it looks like the Israelis are expanding their bombing of Lebanon. What is going on? Is this part of a larger strategy, or is this just for the election that's coming up in a few weeks, or I guess next month in Israel? Actually, since the 7th of October, 2023, Israel changed its
doctrine. It is no longer recognizing borders. It is unaccountable. It can bomb any place. It benefits from the support of the United States and the international community. And therefore, it is allowed to establish a ceasefire and then violate it. It has done this in Gaza. It is attacking the West Bank, constructing settlements, attacking Iran, taking the initiative twice in June 2025 and in February 2026, attacking Lebanon, agreeing on a ceasefire in November 2024, continuing bombing Lebanon and killing more than 517 people until February 2026, and then regaining the war against Lebanon, including Iran, and the regardless of the
framework of agreement and memorandum between Lebanon and Israel, the Israeli continued bombing Lebanon and killing. And the last one was in the last three days that were more than 27 people killed in the south of Lebanon. So the answer to your question is yes. Israel doesn't abide by the ceasefire and is maintaining the freedom of action in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon and Syria, but not Iran for the moment. So is there any off ramp to these conflicts or is the Israelis just going to continue expanding their war until I don't know, they burn out or I mean, surely they're going through and here's some video here, the audience in southern Lebanon of the Israeli attacks on Lebanese villages. Surely the Israelis are running low on munitions in the same fashion that
the Americans are, aren't they Elijah? Well, no, because first of all, Israel makes ammunition and it has plenty. Secondly, since the 7th of October, the plane and the ships never stopped from the US and Germany that represent 30% of the munitions reaching Israel and 60% coming from the United States. We have all the interception missile systems in Israel that have not been used after the 17th of June, 2026 when the ceasefire was not agreed upon, but the end of the war that was broken only 21 days later. So Israel was not attacked. However, the Jordanian are attacked. Iran has attacked the US assets in Jordan, which means that the kind of a buffer
zone for the Israeli interception missile systems are consumed by the Iranian ballistic missiles to reduce the Israeli capability to have multiple layers of interception missile system outside the Israeli space. And inside the Israeli space, no, they still have their own interception missile system that is multi-layered, as I said. However, for the bomb to attack Lebanon, they have plenty of these. They are using the typical 900 kilograms bomb against any target small or big. They have drones, armed drones, and they have enough ammunition. And they have plenty of these because when they see one target in one house, they use the 900 kilogram bomb, not a small missiles
when they want to make a point that nothing is left of the target they have seen, and they create a major destruction to make sure that these messages, reaches, haspola, and whoever think of not abiding by the Israeli instructions. For the south of Lebanon, we see the area, a south of the Lithane River that is occupied, Israel, is extremely busy demolishing 19 villages so far. They have destroyed 18,000 homes, which means they're not lacking bombs, even if sometimes they use the bulldozer, the nine to destroy some homes. And Iran had previously wanted Hezbollah to be included in their overarching ceasefire, the MOU, Memoranda of misunderstanding as I call it, but they had originally wanted Hezbollah as part of
this access of resistance. It looks to me, and I'm just an outside observer here, but it looks to me like Iran is not really doing much to deter Israeli attacks on their ally in Hezbollah. Is that a misread on my part or is it, why is that? Well, there is this kind of narrative going around, which is no surprising that you saying it. However, there is no end of the war with Iran. Iran is still at the state of war. Therefore, Iran did not stop the war and agreed on the cessation of hostility and conflict, and left Lebanon and the other allies on their own, on a country. In the Memoranda of Understanding Paragraph 1, it says that the first condition is to stop the war on all front, including Lebanon. And the Supreme Leader of the National Security Council in Iran,
the Brigadier General, Makhsiin Rizayi said that there is no end of the war or any agreement with the Americans without the end of the war in Lebanon and Gaza, and the rest of the Middle East, and he meant here Yemen, because the Yemen front is very active these days, and it's expanding, and I'm sure the Iranians will include Yemen. In it, however, we still in the state of war. So Iran cannot be accused of abandoning its allies when it is still emerged in the war, and it had developed its doctrine by saying, now I am adopting a preemptive attack like these released and the Americans, which mean that Iran is still very active in a state of war with against these enemies. I think what I, let me rephrase, yes, and I understand what you're saying. Let me rephrase what I was getting at is my personal surprise, I guess, that the Iranians
have not done more to attack Israel, given the fact that Israel continues to up the anti, if you will, against Hezbollah. Is that because Iran can't right now afford to attack Israel? Because that's what the Israelis, of course, are saying they're saying their deterrence is working, or is it part of a more calibrated longer term strategy by Tehran? And neither null. They is in memorandum understanding between Iran and the Americans, saying that this should be the end of the war between, on all fronts. However, the Americans who try to remove the card or the leverage of the state of almost a paragraph five of the MOU from the Iranians tried and succeeded to remove the paragraph one that includes Lebanon from the Iranians with the approval of the Lebanese
President Josef Houn who insisted in separating the detaching itself from Iran even if it is counterproductive to Lebanon. So the Lebanese President said, I want to go solo and have an agreement with these Israelis and Iran has nothing to do with me and I don't want the Iranian support. So for the Lebanese President, he went to have an agreement with these Israelis forcing Iran to lift his hand which Iran did not agree but kept the paragraph one as it is without any modification because Steve Whitkov contacted the Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araqji asking him to modify paragraph one and paragraph five and paragraph one that we are discussing now, in particularly relating to Lebanon because the Lebanese President has selected a private and independent route and Iran
disagreed even if the Lebanese President insists that he doesn't want Iran to do it. Dave Roberts here, there you are surrounded by fans, sharing wings, sharing drinks, high-fiving random strangers. That's promo code blue at urgentcarekit.com slash blue. A colossal monster, a city in ruins, no way out except inside of the all electric Toyota CHR. John Cho Starsin is scape test drive Toyota's new all electric family today. Toyota, let's go places. Fend Lebanon or include Lebanon in any deal. So actually it is not Iran that is not defending Lebanon. Even if Iran has imposed on these really a rule of engagement where Israel is not allowed to bomb the suburb of Beirut otherwise Iran will bomb it and Iran did bomb the north of Israel and Israel stopped and was deterred not to bomb the suburb of Beirut. So the other way around that's why I disagreed with the first version. Okay. And beyond Lebanon because it looks a lot like, you see the Israelis
putting up these flags on the streets of the conquered southern Lebanese towns. I mean, it doesn't look like the Israelis are planning to leave anytime soon unless they're pushed out. Now we have Israel cats, the defense minister of Israel, announcing that there is a quote war plan on the table for West Bank. They want to now apparently the IDF wants to go in hard into the West Bank and fight the Palestinian Authority. What is, where is this coming from? Why suddenly they're claiming there's a 10-7 attack in the offing and they want to preempt it? Is there any validity to these claims by the Israeli government against the West Bank? Mahmoud Abbas who is the president of the Palestinian state since 2005 and who by the way rejected any president's,
presidency election since supported by the West, the U.S. and these released declared so many endless times that he reject any form of resistance against these released and for him the only way a diplomacy. We know today that his way is a total failure since Oslo 1 and 2, 1993, 1995 did not achieve the objective of a Palestinian state but today we have a plan called the E1 that was a 1990s plan that was forwarded by the Israelis put on the side and now is very active. They want to divide the West Bank the North from the South to make sure there is no Palestinian state ever. This is what this is not an analysis. This is what the foreign minister Jad Al-Nasar of Israel said.
This is what the prime minister Benjamin Nadineau said, no Palestinian state. This is what the finance minister Bezel is smart, which confirmed that the Palestinian state has been buried. So this is why we have seen today the reaction by the UK that is the reason why the Jew migrated from all over the world to Palestine following the Beelfort Declaration 1917 is imposing today sanctions not on the Israeli government but only on settlers and settlements because of the Israeli intention to divide the West Bank which is Israeli at the Israeli defense minister they say they want to attack the West Bank. They are attacking it anyway. There is no limits for the Israeli activity attacks against the camp, Janine and all the other camps they go even to Ramallah
where the Palestinian state has a base they have walked into zone A that is supposedly under only the Israeli control they attacked Nablus they did not leave one area without being attacked. So now they are vitally Israeli intentions to occupy the West Bank in particular because of the elections that are due in the next few months in the end toward the end of October and for that the Israeli liquid party and the all the other far right nationalist their card of the election is to wage wars attack occupy Monterey and allow the settlers to occupy more Palestinian homes and areas. So what is really for the defense minister is Israel Katz is saying falls into the policy
of the Israeli government. It's just it's very odd when he calls it a war it doesn't sound like a war at all it sounds like ethnic cleansing is what it what it sounds like to to me maybe I'm misreading it but it certainly sounds unprovoked as well. The Israeli position on the West Bank is it possible because we had a guest Jakov Katz who was the former I think he was the former editor for the Jerusalem Post but he said that Eisenkot got a Eisenkot who's leading the polls right now former IDF chief of staff that he has floated the idea or he's he's receptive to the idea of not only if he wins stopping the settlers in the West Bank but actually using the IDF to arrest some of the most egregious settlers in the West Bank. Do you think that is a realistic
possibility if he were to win or is this just sort of paying lip service for the international community? Well first you've used the word ethnic cleansing which is exactly the same one used by the UK for a minister Ed Miliband today and this is how he had described what's happening in the West Bank and he also used war crime for Gaza and he said there are terrorists describing the activity of the settlers in the West Bank so what Gadi Eisenkot yes he is leading today but doesn't mean he's going to be a prime minister because the opposition groups are not really united each one has a different agenda like Neftalee Bennett who's very vocal these days and his discourse is not different from the one of Netanyahu or any other one at the exception of
he wants to keep the Americans happy but nobody said that the Americans are really unhappy with Benjamin Netanyahu in the country they are ready to deal with him if he becomes a prime minister again for another four years so what Gadi Eisenkot is willing or not willing to do one point yes is possible is to give back the power to the military because we know that the Israeli government took away the power from the military and put it to the give it to the police which means the people of itema being veered today are dealing with the settlers and the settlements and when there is a response from the Israeli army to the action of the settlers we see settlers in the Israeli armies who's coming to help the settlers who are attacking the Palestinians so basically is Gadi
Eisenkot proposing to change all the command and the units that are deployed in the West Bank replace them with other units the doctrine we have seen in the Israeli army in Gaza is not a doctrine of professional soldiers on the contrary we've seen soldiers with normal that even David Petrao criticized and he said where is the morale of the Israeli army because conducting war crimes and crimes against humanity on TV and showing off about it that is not now me with any morality therefore what Gadi Eisenkot will do or will not do is open to discussion if the opposition comes together and if he manages to form a government and respond to
what all the other members of the opposition which are very tough to satisfy and be able to form a government it does sound a lot like the quote greater Israel project is very much underway do you think that they will achieve these very dastardly goals in Israel and do you think that the international community will intervene to stop them because from my perspective it certainly looks like greater Israel is a very real project underway this is not theoretical anymore you look at what they're doing in southern Lebanon you look at what they're doing in the West Bank in Gaza they're clearly evacuating the population to replace it at least that's my read where do you come down on all this?
Brandon the greater Israel has never been off the table the way Israel works is completed different from what we normally would understand and we think there is a plan now on the table and we see it materializing in some areas no this is not the way Israel works Israel puts up a plan and that plan is absorbed by all the politicians who would wait for the appropriate moment to move slowly toward the achievement of what they call the greater Israel this is one day Robert here there you are surrounded by fans sharing wings sharing drinks high-fiving random strangers everybody remembers the game nobody remembers the guy coughing behind you until a few days later at 2 a.m. you wake up with the fever and your throats on fire now what urgent care
close ER slam telehealth maybe but the pharmacies close you needed a medical emergency kit these aren't first aid kits they contain essential prescriptions used for over 30 common conditions sinus and ear uti stomach bug travelers diarrhea and more on hand before you need them use your doctor develop guide book to select the right prescription or call their telemedicine doctor standing by it's like an urgent care and drugstore at home when you're sick traveling or stranded you'll wish you ordered a medical emergency kit order online in minutes and it's shipped to your door and say 45 dollars with my promo code blue at urgent care kit dot com slash blue that's promo code blue at urgent care kit dot com slash blue israel doesn't have a constitution israel doesn't have a border there are no limited border that i have we have on the map defined particularly and agreed by the Israeli government that these are the limits of the straight of israel it doesn't exist such a thing
this is why we have seen the opportunity for these released to take the golem height occupy it and they accepted to call it the occupy golem height until the moment comes when Donald Trump in his first mandate recognized the golem height despite the fact that the united nation considered as a Syrian territory for these realies they took it as for granted and then they moved beyond the golem height so they moved to conitra they are moving to sueda they saying we want to defend the dros of Syria so this is where they are expanding until they say okay well now we need a buffer zone to protect the golem height so already they have absorbed the golem height in their maps this is what they're doing in the south of Lebanon they saying we need to take some area that we can defend we will see a withdrawal of the Israeli army that occupying south of Lebanon from
some area that are difficult to be protected and once they have created this kind of buffer zone they will work on creating a buffer zone for the buffer zone to understand this is the Israeli mentality and they move slowly they not in the hurry and they wait like the jihadists they call they call it tamkin which means they're waiting until we have the power and the strength to go forward and claim more than what we have today the same doctrine the same policy as al-Qaeda as not as it but al-Qaeda think in these ways and Israel is gradually taking part of Syria part of Lebanon and part of Gaza they say we will not withdraw from Gaza and so far they occupy more than 60 percent so if you listen to naftali Bennett he's not saying he will withdraw from Lebanon or
Syria or Gaza he is keeping these areas when they will withdraw as you rightly said in your comment they will not pull out only by force they would do and they will retrieve if they are attacked on the long term and if they sustain enough casualties that remaining in occupied territory will cost them more than keeping the control and the occupation it certainly seems like a revanchist policy they are they are they are remaking the region to their liking but certainly the region doesn't have to tolerate this i mean obviously the iranians are not on board with it but what about the gulf Arab states i'm looking now at breaking news coming out of Yemen for instance it looks like the taiz muqar road is operationally encircled it looks like the Saudis are escalating there
rather than cutting a deal on some level this has to be in my view in conjunction with Israeli don't want to see the houthis or Ansar ala you know running rough shot over there so why are the gulf Arab states going along or at least looking the other way as israel does all of this you know aggression you spoke about two different things he spoke about the gcc and the view they are approaching israel and iran and you spoke about what's happening in Yemen i'm going to leave the Yemen on the side because we can talk about it as much as you want but not in what not mixing with this answer with the first part so the first part is first of all the gcc countries have always considered iran as the enemy iran has been demonized for decades and this is
why they have accepted and hosted all the u.s. bases thinking that one day the americans are going to get rid of iran and the gulf countries will be very happy without any randat is what it is today these lamic republic and then they were extremely disappointed in 2003 when the americans occupy Iraq and removed the Sunnis at the time saying even if he had attacked Kuwait and Saudi Arabia a bit but he remained a Sunni leader and they reached the peak of discontent when the american gave the power to the shia in Iraq for the prime minister and the shia remained until today they are still in control of iran and they are in harmony with iran and that is not something that the gcc would like to see this is where the relationship with israel started by many gulf countries
starting from ira from Qatar Saudi Arabia the Emirati Bahrain not Kuwait and these countries even Qatar had an office of these realis in the 1990s and they called it the commercial office that was more than that Saudi Arabia's visit of top generals to israel since 2010 this is not new the Emirates now have a most sad base in the united Arab Emirates the Bahraini have no problem and they have relationship with these realis so we don't have today any of these gcc countries at the exception of Kuwait even oman has received Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife visiting Moskat so the gcc country consider iran as the enemy today more than ever because iran managed
to stand on its feet regardless of the us and israeli attacks and they are afraid that iran today will adopt the role of the shia in the 1970s when he was the policeman of the middle east at that time he was supported by the us today it's a failure of the us to destroy these lamic republic and submit iran that is pushing iran to impose itself as a dominant force in the middle east this is why they don't consider israel as the enemy they consider iran as the enemy and now they consider iran because geographically is there they have to deal with it because iran is going nowhere they were relying on the us bases it turned out that the us failed to defend itself and all his bases have been either completely destroyed or severely damaged according to the
new altimes and they have seen the americans incapable of defending themselves and defending the gcc countries so that is the position of the gcc in relation to yemen is completely different now there is a very important escalation on yemen between ansarola and the southeas and that sorry it has started because of the 2022 agreement failed to address the root cause of the problem the ansarola still await for the salaries for the sanctions to be lifted for the airport to be accessible and the southeas refuse to give that to ansarola in yemen so when in june following the assassination of the grenade holace d'Aliqa min ii in iran there was a
delegation that wanted to travel to iran and an Iranian plane came to sanah took the delegation the southeas considered that as a violation of the sanctions on the sanah airport and this is when they bombed the airport on the return of this delegation that landed in an airport nearby and when ansarola decided to close the battle mended on all the southea oil this is when south arabia now is moving the war toward the ansarola area but ansarola is working is moving the war in south arabia itself bombing aramco and making sure that the south arabia will not export at least the four hundred thousand barrels that used to be produced in jizan and exported via the red sea so now the war
in yemen will be the top news and this is where it is expanding because there is a ground attack to keep the ansarola busy and ansarola in 2015 when it managed to hold for seven years against the other arabianist coalition and against Donald Trump who wage war for a month and retreated without giving his objective today ansarola they have misigned they have ballistic miscides we've seen when they fart on israel they have drones and they are no longer the force that used to be in 2015 and at that time managed to impose themselves and prevented the Saudis in coalition and the americans to achieve their objectives yes and real quick we should let the audience in the american audience know ansar ala is the houthis that's the that's their actual name
is ansar ala and so you don't think there's no any connectivity between on some level the fact that saudi is pressuring ansar ala the houthis excuse me and israel's ongoing campaign in their part of the the region because doesn't israel don't they want to see the rollback of what they perceive to be uh iranian proxies like the houthis or the ansar ala in yemen there is some of that but i would say the babel mandib is related to the straight of almost yeah when the iranian said in paragraph one that uh they won the end of the war in the middle east including lebanon they did not exclude yemen but when the yemeni said we will close babel mandib on the saudi tankers and oil
the ships this is when the saudi's uh instead of going and negotiating with the yemeni they thought now they can defeat yemen they've tried that for 70s they haven't learned the lesson and now they're trying again yemen will not stop unless there is a end of the war and an agreement between the americans and the iranians on the straight of homos and that i doubt will be done by donald trump it will be for the next us president if the us president is willing to give concessions to the iranians as stated in the memorandum of understanding that's therefore the situation between yemen and saudi arabia will continue will escalate a lot in the coming days and weeks until it starts de-escalating when the result are more visible and when unsarulah will
occupy some of the most important era of god they aren't going now toward babel mandib and they are advancing but it's too early to say who's winning because it is the area is very kinetic and fluid and some forces will occupy some area others will take it back we've seen that in yemen in the last years between 2015 and June 2022 so this is too early to say who's winning however we are seeing how unsarulah the houthis are conducting an internal war and conducting an external war against al-derabia and bombing saudi territory Saudi airport Saudi oil platform and Saudi oil rigged we are bombing aramco that hurts the americans more than anything because donald trump wants to control the price of oil and he wants a state of no one or peace in yemen we don't have no
no peace and then this is where we see what is related is not the israelis role but we could see an Iranian role coming into the battle and using the preemptive actats as the preemptive doctrine as the israelis and the americans have used for decades and starting the attack to make sure that there are more than one front that are expanding and most probably if the Iranians are engaged then hezbollah will come in not to please Iran or yemen but because it's a golden opportunity for hezbollah to impose try to impose a new rule of engagement on these release and if we have a front in yemen that is very hot one in Iran and one in the Gulf countries and one in Lebanon then this may be in the Iranian mind can at a certain point impose an intervention of the international community the united nation
all the americans to say okay let us stop everything and start talking but all fronts should stop so that would be a good strategy that the Iran may adopt it's certainly comprehensive and if there's one thing i have found watching this war evolve it's that we should not and the west they do this all the time underestimate the strategic mindset of the Iranians they do seem to have a very firm grasp on ends ways and means which is more than i can say for the americans and the is right well the americans at least let me ask you something here as well we had a guest on who's very anti-war but he is a former marine and he was concerned that as the conflict in yemen escalates and continues there might be a cause for the uh hoothe or the ansar ala to turn their anti-ship ballistic missiles on american carriers that are operating um as part of the block aid that
basically the Iranians have their ability to threaten with anti-ship ballistic missiles and the hoothies have longer range anti-ship ballistic missiles that could conceivably threaten uh us naval forces sort of operating near a run is that at all a real possibility at this point or do the hoothies want to keep this confined to just fighting the Saudis in yemen i think it's highly unlikely because i think differently for ansar ala hoothies they are brave but they know stupid and suicidal so they're not going to open another front to invite the americans to come in overtly even if they support the Saudis which is inevitable because Saudi Arabia is part of sent com and keep the pain on something that everybody can feel it the price of oil if the ansar ala hoothies continue bombing Saudi Arabia all terminals then the reduction of oil
export will affect everybody including us here in europe it will affect the united states and the price of oil will start uh inflicting real damage on so many other players that this player will have to intervene at certain point so so far we have seen for example the american saying where we managed to bring out 15 million baris per day and then they reduce it to nine now we still have less than a half of 21 million barit-per-day that the straight-of-form was used to export so the market is lacking around two and a half billion baris per day a billion or a baris of oil since the beginning of this war of course china has reduced his use from 11 to 7.5 million but china is not the the whole world there are other countries
who are suffering there are other products who are not which are not reaching the rest of the world and there are there is no more gas the jet fuel is lacking diesel is lacking and it's very expensive today so the real suffering hasn't started wait for the winter and the winter is knocking our door now we are in september the weather is still okay we're still in the range of 20 degrees but in the in the night we still we start having eight or nine degrees wait until we will have a very harsh summer a winter and then this is when everybody is going to feed the paint and if we add to that russia that is saying well i am an under attack and i need not to export what i'm exporting then you can feel we will feel the heat under our feet everywhere so what i want to go back to our area ansarola are very happy to make sure that the Saudis are not
exporting the 4.5 to 5 million baris via the soes canal and if they manage to do so they are telling everybody including the u.s who thought that in two years the straight-of-formals will be dispensable that actually when there is a war in the red sea and in the bubble mended where will you have the same problem and unless you use the export the oil by satellite or by drones then you can get away with it but for now things are looking really bad for those who are thinking they can really give up on the straight-of-formals in two years which is not true by the way because they're talking about oil a percentage of oil but they are forgetting the gas. yeah now i agree and to your point and we're going to have to wrap it up here because i got a
