Israeli ground operation in Lebanon, Thai sailors return home after Hormuz attack

At least one person has been killed in a missile attack in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi.

Meanwhile the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority says some flights have resumed in and out

of Dubai International Airport.

Flights were temporarily suspended after a drone incident sparked a fire.

The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority says it has already been brought under control and

no injuries have been reported, who has sparked by damage to one of the fuel tanks on site.

The Israeli military has announced its began, quote, focused ground operations in southern

Lebanon.

It comes as fighting has intensified between Israeli forces and Hezbollah around

the southern Lebanese town of Qiyam.

The town sits on high ground, just a few kilometers from the Israeli border and the Latani

river, giving it a commanding view over northern Israel and nearby Lebanese planes.

Qiyam's strategic position has long been seen as a gateway to southern Lebanon.

The Israel and Hezbollah have been exchanging fire for more than 10 days, following the

killing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khaminay.

A group of Thai sailors have arrived home after their cargo ship was attacked in the

strait of Hormuz last week.

Three of the Mauryi Nari's crew are still missing.

Two projectiles hit their vessel on Wednesday.

Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs says it's working with Oman and Iran on the

case.
