Marriage is the foundation of civilization — but what happens when the definition of marriage is separated from children, biological parenthood, and the natural family? I’m joined by Katy Faust, founder of Them Before Us, for a wide-ranging and provocative discussion about her campaign to overturn Obergefell, restore a child-centered definition of marriage, and rebuild a genuine social-conservative movement in America. Faust argues that the consequences of redefining marriage extend far beyond marriage licenses. We examine how the degeneration of marriage and parenthood have affected adoption, surrogacy, IVF, biological parents, parental rights, and the growing marketplace for children being slave-trafficked. Ultimately, the political Right cannot simply oppose individual symptoms while ignoring the underlying questions about marriage, family, sex, parenthood, and children's rights.
