Hey guys and welcome back to the channel, we have Yannick Sinner vs Arthur Feast for the semi-finals of the Madrid Open Masters really looking forward to touching on this one
I think it's going to be an explosive matchup and let me know in the comments section below who you think is going to win and
Why before you do get into my D-tub analysis and
And also my prediction do remember to that like button do subscribe if you're new and do the rating review if you're listening on a podcast platform
So we've got Yannick Sinner the world number one currently versus Arthur Feast who a lot of people have been coining as
Potentially being the one to finally challenge Carlos or Yannick at the slams and not necessarily just by beating one but actually
being
A contender for winning grand slams himself moving forward and let's take no that jock which out the equation because
He of course has won a whole host of slams and we're talking about up and coming players coming through
Let's first we'll touch on Yannick's run for semi-finals
So he beat Bonzi and three sets a Bonzi the only place take a set of Yannick so far on this tournament
Then he beat Moller then nori both in straight sets and then Raphael Haudah who is another very
Exciting young prospect from Spain
It's an incredibly big ball
But he eventually lost that one to 10 a six to seven six
Father Feast
well
He has carried on his very impressive Masters 1000 form he made the courts finals of Indian Wells semi-finals in Miami
And now here he will at least have made the semi-finals in Madrid
One in three sets in his first match as well against Busse and then beat Narva and etchia very both in straight sets
And then lehetsch and straight sets are called revenge for that semi-final loss of lehetsch got in Miami
In terms of this match up well, they only played the one time before and Yannick won that one in 2023
It was in Montpellier in France, but it was an indoor hardcore tournament
It was a semi-final as well, and he won that one seven five six two
Very different circumstances and conditions and almost three years ago now
What I will say for Arthur is that
For Arthur Feast even
He is
And has the best opportunity to be Yannick on clay
If we're talking about surface specificity
On graph I think you'd find it very tough with Yannick and on hardcore I think Yannick holds a very distinct advantage on hardcore as well
Now on clay
Yes, they're in Madrid, so it's not going to be
The classic very slow clay course that you might see or clay court tennis that you'd see an environment that you'd see at Roland Garros or Rome
because of that
added
Or higher altitude that you get in Madrid the walls do tend to fly through more so you do get a bit more
Purchase for hitting them all bigger for being more aggressive. It does reward players who are brave
But at the same time it is still a clay court. So as soon as the wall grips into that clay
It's still a lot more conducive to players who play with a lot of topspin and it's harder to hit through the court
Then it would be on another surface because of the slowness of clay and how the wall grips in the surface
So angles end up being super important
And feasts plays with more topspin than anyone else in the top 10 on his forehand wing
from
What stats have been showing
So that's really impressive for one and for two
I think there has been a marked improvement on his backhand
quality and shot tolerance generally
Since his comeback in injury
I also think his general level has just been higher
And for whatever reason maybe he was working on things in the offseason. I think he was
The serve is solid. It's yeah, I still not a real
I would say weapon as such
But he's doing very well behind it. He's very explosive behind that serve on the plus one
with especially with the forehand
And now only continue on clay as he tries to hunt forehands
On a surface which re-reward plays who are able to
have
impressive and efficient
Footwork in that ad corner
So how does feasts
Get the win hall how does synagogue the win well
I think
We can talk about server turn first so I think he needs to have a good serving day. I think it's gonna be aggressive fees
but he needs to also
Try and get Yannick off balance
Now what that's going to mean is playing very aggressively especially with the forehand
But I think he needs to dip into creative to the drop shot
Even with some net play times. I know he hasn't been come to net as much on clay because of the surface
but I do think
There is a time and place to
start making the court look smaller
And that most likely will be when he's able to drag sinner out
He does leave himself susceptible to getting passed or lobbed
So he needs to choose the right opportunities when to come in in my opinion
The drop shot again
Needs to be the right opportunity when to play that
And he needs to get himself into position the rallies where he's on the front foot where he feels comfortable enough to hit
That drop shot knowing that he's got a bit of safety because either Yannick has been pushed back or pushed out wide
Quite extremely that even if he is to the ball it means an easy put away for Yannick
The back and the back and Yannick is going to dominate despite fees his improvements on that wing
so
What fees is going to have to do is try and go total in the sense that he's going to have to try to
Stay solid in that corner. It'll be a very good test for him
The issue he's going to have is that he likes to hit again with a lot of spin on the backhand wing
And sometimes he finds these really good angles but if the angles are a little bit off
Then Yannick as we know has an incredible backhand line. They's able to hit outside of the tram lines
And it's money. It really is money every time
So if I was to be looking into concentrating more on actually dominating the forehand forehand with Yannick
There's been
Analysis done that shows that Yannick's most
Or let's just say he's
least fruitful matchup
Against opponents is that forehand to forehand cross-coach change
so
That's something that Le Hedgesh needs to go hard into
Hope that this in a forehand breaks down a little bit as well
and
If that does happen then he puts himself in the best possible chance to get the win
Whether he will or not. I guess remains to be seen
In terms of a prediction. I'm finding it tough to go away from Yannick
So I'm going to pick Yannick in three sets. I think Feast will run him close
I wouldn't be surprised too much if Feast were to win. So let's see how this one goes
Let me in the comment section below. Thanks very much guys. Stay safe from what we'll see you next video
