About this episode
Today on the Quivercast we sit down with legendary surfer and shaper, Jeff Timpone @timponehawaii. Growing up in Orange County, California, Jeff wasn’t raised by the beach—his family ran restaurants. The time spent with his dad was limited but they would go fishing at the beach. It was on those trips that he first noticed surfers riding waves, sparking a curiosity that eventually drew him into the water himself. From that point on, Jeff let surfing guide his path, immersing himself into riding waves.
That passion led Jeff into surfboard and many other watercraft manufacturing, where he mastered every step of the process and ultimately became one of the most respected shapers of his era. With decades of experience, Jeff has built boards for surfers in all aspects of surfing and helped influence the direction of modern design. Even today, he keeps the tradition alive by shaping one surfboard a day, staying true to the craft that defined his life. In this episode, Jeff shares stories from his journey, his philosophy on shaping, and what it means to dedicate yourself fully to surfing.
