Jets' 2026 Draft: Top Picks, Trade, & Roster Revamp

On April 2, 8th, the New York Jets just nailed their 2026 draft class, earning top marks

from pundits across the board.

They snagged the draft's best pass rusher in David Bailey from Texas Tech right out

the gate, then added explosive titan Kenyan Sadiq from Oregon, at pick 16.

Later, they traded back in the first round to grab Indiana wide receiver Omar Cooper

Jr. at 30, building serious firepower on offense and edge.

Earlier this week, General manager Darren Moogie got aggressive, swapping spots with the 49ers

to land Cooper while keeping their picks intact.

Bailey brings instant juice to the defense after the Jets scouted him hard at the combine

and his pro day.

Sadiq's versatility as a blocker and receiver fits perfect for today's game.

Analysts are hyped.

Joel Klatt called it a total roster revamp, with speed and explosiveness everywhere.

Tom Pelicero said,

9 out of 10 NFL folks peg Bailey as the top guy over other rushers, all for vying guy.

Michael Robinson praised how Bailey bends corners and precious quarterbacks to help the

secondary.

In round two, they traded down for Indiana cornerback, the Angelo Ponds, who led power

four corners with 54 tackles.

Day three brought value like Florida State defensive tackle Darryl Jackson Jr.

In round four, Miami guard Enneys Cooper in round six, and Kansas, State safety VJ Payne

in round seven.

ESPN's Matt Miller said they checked off edge, tight end, receiver, and more, without forcing

a quarterback early.

This hall sets up Breeze Hall, Garrett Wilson, and the new weapons for Geno Smith, or whoever

steps up, with three first round picks in 2000, 27 to chase that franchise guy.

The jets are stacking the deck for comeback.
