Jets' Edge Rusher Draft Strategy: Bailey or Bust?

On April 20th, the New York Jets are staring down a thin-edged Russia room heading into

the draft, and folks are buzzing about them grabbing two.

High upside guys early.

After trading Jermaine Johnson away and signing Joseph Asai, plus Kingsley and Agbear,

they've got potential, but no real proven stars to lean on.

Their current roster lists eight-edged rushers, yet four have zero career sacks, and even

the top producers like Will McDonald with.

51.5 sacks in 47 games struggle against the run.

O-Size got 14.5 and 61 games, and at Barre, 11.5 and 68, but death is a joke overall.

Fans and analysts see this as a premium position screaming for help, especially with the draft

loaded at edge.

Doubling up could lock down the front for years without breaking the bank on vets.

Word is, General Manager Darren Moogie eyes Texas Tech's David Bailey as a lock at their

second overall pick, or Ohio State's Arvel Reese if he slides.

Then at 33 or 44, they could snag Clemson's TJ Parker, Missouri Zion Young, or Central

Florida's Malachai Lawrence All with big ceilings.

Building that rotation under head coach Aaron Glinn makes total sense, turning a weakness

into a strength before these rookies cash in, big down the gene.
