Jets Eye Eagles' McKee After Dalton Trade

The New York Jets brought back quarterback Geno Smith through a trade earlier this off-season.

Now they're hunting for a second veteran quarterback to bolster the roster.

One name in the mix, Carson Wentz, just resigned with the Minnesota Vikings, taking him out

of play.

Another possibility floating around is Tanner McKee from the Philadelphia Eagles.

They picked him in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

The Jets' new offensive coordinator, Frank Reich, has connections to both the Eagles and

Stanford, where McKee played college ball.

That changed a bit when the Eagles traded for veteran Andy Dalton from the Carolina Panthers

in a late pick swap.

Dalton now lives like the main back up to Jalen Hertz, raising questions about keeping

three quarterbacks on the depth chart.

Eagles beat writer's note that Dalton's arrival doesn't automatically put McKee on the

trade block.

Still, it opens up some flexibility for Philadelphia to listen to offers if teams come calling.

With the Jets still shopping, this Eagles move could create just the right opening for
