On April 5th, the New York Jets hold the number 2 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft,
and with quarterback Fernando Mendoza projected, to go first to the Las Vegas Raiders,
they're eyeing the best player available. Draft experts see Ohio State's Arville Reese,
a versatile linebacker and pass rusher as that top talent and a perfect match for the Jets needs.
ESPN insider Rich Community calls Reese the best fit, pointing to his upside and ability to play
multiple spots on defense. General manager Darren Mugi has a name to guy yet, but the buzz points
to pass rusher like Texas Tech's David Bailey or Miami's Rubin Bane. Junior, even with some
knocks on Bane's shorter arms. With under 3 weeks on the clock, the Jets are zeroing in on their
pick to boost that front seven and turn things around.
