Jets' QB Search: Cousins Off List, Taylor Back?

The New York Jets made some big moves at quarterback this offseason.

They picked up Geno Smith from the Las Vegas Raiders to bolster the room.

Then on Monday, they traded Justin Fields to the Kansas City Chiefs, leaving them short

on backup options.

Now the team needs to find a reliable number two, and there are several free agents available.

But according to SNY Insider Connor Hughes, one name off the list is Kurt Cousins.

Hughes reports that Cousins has zero interest in joining the Jets, and never has.

At 37 years old he's been linked to New York before, but that talk seems done for good.

Cousins had a solid stretch last season with the Atlanta Falcons.

He stepped in after an injury, and when five wins and three losses are starter, throwing

for over 1700 yards, 10 touchdowns, and five.

Instead, the Jets might just bring back Tyra Taylor as backup behind Smith.

He's a steady veteran and great in the locker room, which fits perfectly if they draft a young quarterback too.
