Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Jose Barrios has a stress fracture in his right elbow.

The 31-year-old starter will miss the beginning of the season after the recent diagnosis.

Last year, Barrios win 9-5 with a 4.17-earned run average over 31 appearances for the team.

He finished the season on the injury list and sat out the playoffs as Toronto pushed

deep into the postseason.

The news came out of the team's spring training site in Dunedin, Florida.
