The two-time World Cup winner talks about the NWSL’s recent uptick in red cards, how she made the jump to broadcaster after hanging up her cleats, who she’s picking to win the UEFA Women’s Champions League, and what it means for professional women’s soccer to be coming to her hometown of Atlanta in 2028.
PLUS: The Athletic’s Asli Pelit hops on the show to talk about the biggest winners from the NWSL weekend. The magic of Tessa Dellarose’s debut goal as the Chicago Stars upset the Kansas City Current and the long-awaited return of a USWNT star for NJ/NY Gotham FC.

If I would have been able to play at home,
that would have, and I kind of was like, oh, maybe it'll come in a time
that it'll be right at the end of my career and I can retire.
There, that would have been the dream.
And I actually was supposed to, I'd signed with Atlanta in 2013 with the WPS
before the WPS folded.
So it just feels like a miss, you know?
Yeah.
But no, I'm excited for the city, and I got to retire in Gotham,
and very, very lucky to be able to do so.
They've been an incredible club when I was,
absolutely.
Yeah, so all things happen for a reason, you know?
Hello, everybody of Harry Bourne.
Welcome back to full-time review.
I'm your host, Jillian Sackovitz.
The UEFA Women's Champions League quarterfinals are upon us.
And we've got quite the treat for you today.
US Women's National Team legend turned CBS broadcaster,
Kelly O'Hara will join us to get us all primed and set
and so much more.
We talk about what her favorite trophy in the cabin it is,
that 2019 World Cup post party that seemingly never ended.
The one we all wanted to be at.
And one team, she'd wish she'd play for.
And finally, in the NWSL this weekend,
we saw quite the upset.
Osla Pellet joins us to break it all down when we saw the Chicago stars.
Last year's last-place team beat the Kansas City current last year's
Shield Winners.
This episode is a wild one.
Take a listen.
All right, it is my absolute honor now.
Right off of filming her own podcast,
she's nice enough to come on to ours.
What an honor to bring onto today's show,
two-time World Cup winner, Olympic gold and bronze medalist,
two-time NWSL champion, WPS champion,
and CBS broadcaster for the UEFA Women's Champions League.
It's Kelly O'Hara.
We tried really, and they were having me here.
Osla Pellet, they don't have to mention the bronze,
but I can just like, we can forget that.
You know, I actually thought about it,
but then I was like, it is amazing.
You know, I want to take two-time Olympic medalist.
You know, I like to say gold, because I think that's, you know,
that I liked, I really liked gold,
but maybe I shouldn't be so harsh.
I shouldn't take away from the effort that went into that bronze medal,
because there are a lot of things over that, so.
Okay, so that begs the question.
If that's the least favorite bit of hardware in the cabinet,
shall we say?
What's the favorite piece of hardware in the cabinet?
It's like picking your favorite child, you know?
I know, sorry, I do think it's true.
Favorite?
Probably 2019, 2019 World Cup, when we won in 2019,
I was like, oh, we're going big girls.
Like, nobody's sleeping for the next 96 hours.
Like, let's go.
And that's what we did.
It was, it was, honestly, that was,
I didn't have a voice after we finished.
Partly, truly.
And we saw a championship with spirit.
I was, I wanted that just as bad as a World Cup win.
Like, the feelings that went were going on inside of my body
ahead of that championship game and through that playoff run
was akin to being at a World Championship.
So I would say those two and then 2012 Olympic gold medal,
because Olympics for me were like the thing when I was a kid,
I wanted to be an Olympian.
Before I knew I wanted to even be a World Cup winner or soccer player,
anything like that, I was just like, I want to be an Olympian.
I love it.
Okay.
Before we dive into the questions,
just some quick ice breakers,
because we get to know each other today.
Kelly, are you more of a caller or a tech star?
Oh, um, I think I'm both.
I have trended, but I've started to transition more to caller.
And I actually really love a FaceTime.
Like, I'll face somebody if I'm going to call them.
This is annoying, I think, but I have been on a voice memo train lately.
Oh, wow.
Yeah.
And then when I'm flying, it's like my friends and I,
then I like listen back to all their feedback and it's like a podcast.
So it's kind of been in a voice memo world,
but I know that's not always the most convenient for others.
So I'm a caller.
Okay.
I want to hear your voice.
You have a podcast of your life.
That's pretty cool.
You can save them all so that you can like come back to them
at a later, like long down the road.
Right.
I don't know if in the world of AI if I want those.
Fair enough, fair enough.
We'll say, um, do binge shows or more like a slow weekly release?
So, um, I can binge.
However, I am very bad at completing a series to the frustration of my partner.
She loves like running through a full TV show.
And I'm like, let's take some time.
You know, we can watch two episodes here.
We can watch one episode in two days and then, you know, uh,
so I think it is more so a slow burn for me.
Gotcha.
What's the last series that was worthy of finishing?
Well, we're currently doing Love Story, the JFK.
Me too.
Yeah.
I'm like, down.
This is, it's like, it's tough.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm like, I find, I find it hard to not then Google everything.
I thought that was real or not.
And it's ridiculous.
I'm like, just enjoy the show and stop.
I know.
It's a fact checking everything.
Yeah.
I agree.
Okay.
So Love Story, uh, with your podcast time wasting,
who is the bigger stickler for like the topic and the rundown?
Ooh.
Is it Kelly O'Hare or is it Allie Riley?
Okay.
So, um, Allie Riley is way more on it than I am in a lot of things.
Um, yeah, and she's sitting right next to me.
So she's laughing.
True.
It's true.
Like, we actually had our, in our first episode,
we got an argument about trades being able to happen after the season started.
And I was kind of like, this, she was like, they shouldn't.
It should be the day before the season starts to make trades.
And I was like, two weeks later, like, why not?
It's just the same thing as like trading midseason.
If a trade happens a couple of weeks after the season starts,
what's the difference?
And I likened it to, um, procrastination around a project
and or asking for an extension from a professor,
which I would do she would not.
Therefore, she's on it.
Gotcha.
Okay.
I hear it my way, though.
I hear it my way.
Yeah.
No, it's very obvious as an avid of you and listener of the show, 50, 50, 100.
No, at least optically, optically.
I know, I know the difference behind the scenes, um, with the co-host.
Yeah, she wanted me because my computer died the first, like, recording.
Oh, it's just, yeah, it is one of the minor minor details, honestly.
Minor details.
Who did you watch, Kelly, growing up?
And you said, I want to do that.
Um, the 1996 women's USA women's gymnastics team.
Like I said, I wanted to be an Olympian before.
Even knew I wanted to be a soccer player.
I wanted to represent team USA.
I wanted to, I saw, because I saw these gymnasts.
And it was the Atlanta Games 1996.
Ah, the hometown.
Also didn't go to any of the events because my parents were like,
we're not bothering with that.
But I do specifically remember watching these women on television.
I think it was the first time I saw female athletes competing
and to see them compete for their country.
And the whole world stopped and watched.
I was mesmerized and like so inspired by them.
So yeah, that, that team was, was the, the group of women that first was like, I could do that.
Last one, what's the best advice you've had ever been given?
Best advice I've ever been given is never make a decision when you're too high or too low.
And that is for my father and it has served me well.
All right.
We'll mic drop and leave that there as we now move on to some real soccer topics.
Okay.
So we're going to start with a little NWSL before we move on to the UEFA Women's Champions League
quarter finals.
I want to talk about red cards because we've seen a lot of them and they're
exciting six red cards through just two weeks of matches.
After 11 total all of last season, PS, you and your career never received a red card
in your perspective.
No, no, I did.
I did.
I did.
You did it.
I know I received one when I was playing for Spirit against Orlando.
I think that was only NWSL one.
And that was for Rose.
And then I received a red card in high school soccer of RC soccer.
Whoops.
That was my first one.
And then I received a red card one or two for I think youth national teams.
Okay.
And then college.
Ooh.
Stanford.
We know we had that.
But I was trying professional.
I was trying professional.
Are you are you here?
Are you here or not here for the amount of red cards we've seen to start the NWSL season?
You know what I'm more so it's not that I'm here and not here for it.
The first week and I was like, all right, two red cards from expansion teams.
Good for them.
Bring the heat.
Be like we're here to party and we're coming with some intensity.
But now I'm kind of like, all right girls, what do we do?
Like, what are we doing?
Like, what's why are we seeing so many so quickly?
And I don't know if that's a
officiating question of like, is that, you know, did something happen in these preseason
rules meetings that every team has with the refs?
Like, what happened?
Because it is a little crazy that we've seen so many so quickly.
So it's not that I'm near here or not here for it.
It's more so I'm like, why?
Okay, yeah, that's that's fair.
I'm interested to see what the rest of the
I don't know what it looks like.
It looks like I couldn't tell you.
Let's talk about the Portland Thorns because it was a chaotic win on Friday night.
The 44th Cascadian Darby.
Crazy.
They beat the Seattle Rain with just nine players on the pitch after someone is sent off in the
ninth minute and the 57th minute and this happens all in front of the amazing fans that are
the fans of Providence Park, 21,000 plus.
What was your reaction?
And were you ever in a match down that many players for that match?
Gilliam, I actually meant to ask Ali on our podcast if
well, ask her now.
Bring Ali, have you ever played in a game where you were down to men?
Because I don't think I have.
She's also never been a part of a rain delay.
So she really, I don't know, she's like, cool.
Like, did she play professional sports?
I don't know.
I don't think I, well, I think maybe I have, but
that feels wrong because I feel like I would remember that wild by Portland, wild.
And the craziest part, Gilliam, is that I'm like, it wasn't a straight red in the ninth minute.
It was too yellow.
It was spicy.
I was so here for it.
Before we move on to Champions League, Providence Park gets a lot of love as a good
away stadium, whether it's NWSL or MLS.
I'd love to know from you in your NWSL days, what was your favorite stadium to play in?
And what was your least favorite?
Ooh, favorite would have to be
Providence Park, but then when Angel City arrived, Angel City,
because Angel City's atmosphere matched.
Are they called the Riveters for the Thorns, the support group?
Riveters, correct, yeah.
Yeah.
Angel City matched that.
But they had grass, right?
Like the one downfall of Providence Park is the turf.
It's just such an unfortunate thing that they play on turf.
So I would say Angel City, BMO, stadium, BMO stadium.
Yeah, we're probably my favorite.
I only got to play there once, which was a bummer.
And then least favorite.
And then obviously I loved playing, I loved playing at Audi.
I loved playing at Red Bull NWSL straight stadium.
So yeah, maybe actually I'm going to say Audi,
because I played for Spirit, and we were just when I got there,
and like the end of my career, we just started to get that sort of support
and get that sort of attendance.
And Rowdy Audi is like next level, right?
And it's so sick.
And it's a beautiful field, like a beautiful venue, beautiful field.
And then least favorite, probably Seattle, when they played on,
the where they play now on the hard turf.
And also the baseball stadium that they played in.
I was like, this is ridiculous.
Fair, fair.
Yeah, you're an Audi.
Oh gee, you're Audi pre-routing.
I love that.
I am Audi, yeah, pre-routing, like true rowdy Audi,
but we were on the cusp.
We were getting that out.
Yeah, totally.
Okay, let's move on to UF Women's Champions League quarter finals,
because you are our expert here on the show.
So we're going to see an all London affair between Chelsea and Arsenal.
And we got a knell classico between Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Talk to me about what you're looking forward to most in these quarter finals.
The thing that I'm looking forward to most in these Champions League
quarter finals is Arsenal Chelsea.
I have Chelsea winning at all.
I said from the jump.
I said Chelsea was going to win.
I declared my allegiance to them.
For no other reason that they haven't won,
and I feel like they're a stacked team and have the potential to.
And I obviously have friends on that team,
so I was like, yeah, let's ride with them.
So I'm very nervous for that game,
happening tomorrow, Arsenal Chelsea, and then obviously the second leg of it.
Because Chelsea was kind of going like this,
and Arsenal was kind of going like this,
but now the script has flipped.
And I, anything could happen tomorrow.
And Arsenal, in my opinion, is doing better.
So that's stressful.
Oh, yeah.
So I'm most looking forward to that game.
But all of these matchups are elite.
It's going to be really exciting soccer for the next,
well, I guess Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
Is it Tuesday?
Yeah, Tuesday, Wednesday.
The next two weeks, we're going to be blessed with some good football.
We have had maybe like 10 titles on this show of these podcasts over the last few months
of our Chelsea in crisis.
So Kelly O'Harris take is that Chelsea is not in crisis.
Oh, no, no, no, no, I think they are.
But they're also going to win the Champions League.
Or they're at least going to, well,
I said that at the beginning of the season.
And I like, you know, stand on business,
so I can't take it back now.
And I already fell on the bracket,
but no, I am very concerned.
Okay, but I will be using all of my
power from afar to try to help them.
It has seemed like, Kelly,
I am in the beginning days of your like,
kind of like spot appearances on the CBS things,
that you're a natural at like TV and all this.
Did you always know that this was the progression
that you wanted to make post retirement?
Or it just feels right?
How did this come about?
Oh, gosh.
Thank you for saying that.
That's very kind of you.
No, I don't think I
knew this was a natural progression,
or even like planned for it.
I obviously started doing a podcast with Jettelman Sports.
Like I did, I kicked off their
podcasting and
I'm very much, yeah.
Back in 2020, we started the Jettelman Sports podcast
with Kylo here, and then we transitioned it to the players pod
and did a bunch of different stuff with them.
So, and in doing that,
like, that was kind of on a whim of,
hey, I've always thought interviewing other players
would be really fun.
And having those conversations and
allowing that space to have those conversations
is unique of the player to player.
And, you know, JWS supported that and started the players pod.
So, that kind of started my, I guess,
movement into coverage.
And knowing that, you know,
so little sports coverage goes to women's sports,
that really contributed to wanting to
add to the equation and add to the coverage and visibility,
because if you're not gonna,
if you're like, this is a problem,
but you don't, you're not adding to the solution.
It's like, you can't really complain about it.
And then, honestly, it really came about,
like, I did the pre-show with Ali
ahead of the championship that the interview cell did,
the pre-pre-show for JWS.
We did like a live
like public, like, people were in the background
of us doing this pre-show fun.
And it was so fun.
And that was my first time doing live broadcast.
And I was like, wow, they're just letting us rip.
Like, that's a choice.
But we had a blast.
And I really enjoyed it.
And from that, I think CBS, you know,
one of the producers called me.
I don't even know when after that,
but was like, hey, when you're done playing,
like, we would really love for you to come in.
And even before you're done,
like, if you want to do some studio work.
And yeah, it's kind of gone like that.
And I really actually have enjoyed doing it.
And that's thanks to CBS.
I feel like they've put together a really great team
around Champions League.
And they encourage us to be ourselves and have fun.
Because the whole point is like, it's sports.
It's not rocket science.
It's not brain surgery.
It's supposed to be fun.
So yeah, I feel like I feel very thankful
that I have been given the support from them.
Have really incredible analysts and like teammates
around me in the group that they put together
for Champions League in Darian and Jen
and Janelle and Allie and our host, Hannah Cash.
So it's been fun.
And I've really enjoyed it.
CBS is a really good job.
And they're unique in the way of not only letting people
be themselves, but spotlighting that.
And I think that comes through with yourself
and everybody on that coverage
that I feel like I could be sitting on the couch
or on the bench or in a new bird.
And that's what you'd be saying to me anyway.
And I think it's really elevated.
Maybe I made it more digestible for people
to follow something like the way for Women's Champions League.
So that has been a huge positive.
What has been the easiest part about broadcasting?
And for you, what's been the hardest part?
What's the one thing you're really working on?
The easiest part?
I think it's, again, it's like,
I, these conversations I'm having, the takes I'm giving
on live television is like you said,
what I would be saying to you if we're still
being like, what could go over coffee?
Like I'm just going to say like it is.
And I'm not trying to be anything that I'm not.
So the easy part has been being myself.
And again, I think that comes from the support of CBS
of my teammate on the desk.
It's so important.
Totally.
Hardest part, getting hair and makeup every day,
like that you have to go in.
It's like my least hair before.
But I don't know.
What's the hardest part?
Honestly, the hardest part is like the amount.
When you do the beginning of Champions League,
it's like so many teams, so many games in one day,
you have to wrap your head around so much information.
And when you play, a lot of players I think are like,
oh, it's not that hard to be like due broadcast and like due
commentary.
And they kind of rip on people who do it.
And I'm like, and I always kind of felt like,
dude, they're trying their best one.
And I think it's a lot harder than people think it.
Players think it is.
And I would love for every player to have
the studio and or due commentary.
And that would understand.
And it's like, yeah, we're, you know,
everybody's just trying their best.
And yeah, it is hard.
I love that.
I love that for like a preseason symposium.
Like go stick there at that desk and try to remember every name
and every and every name pronunciation.
Like I stress so much about it.
And I'm so sorry if I've ever pronounced your name wrong.
Like that is my bad.
And it's, I'm trying my best.
All right, as a Atlanta native,
I know how incredible the soccer scene is in the Southeast.
Especially Atlanta, I was lucky enough to spend five years
working for Atlanta United.
And I am so excited for NWSL 2028 to come to Atlanta.
Have you already gotten calls to be the ambassador,
the head coach, like what is going to be
the Kelly O'Hare connection to this team?
Uh, no, no calls yet.
So yeah, I feel like I feel like it's got Kelly O'Hare in all of it.
I would love to be involved, yeah.
Would you be a head coach?
Um, at this moment, no, I don't have the training.
I haven't gone through the, you know, um,
coaching courses.
So no, and on top of that, um, at the moment,
I'm trying not to have the same schedule I had as a player.
I like ownership over my time at the moment.
Yes, I really respect that.
Okay, so if you were still playing,
is there an NWSL team or even a chance of going to Europe,
is there a place that you say, I, I would love to have played there?
Um, I mean, honestly, it was, it was Atlanta for me.
Like, it's my hometown, um, when Atlanta United came about,
I remember how to conversation with Carlos.
He was the GM at the time and, and was like, hey, if and when Atlanta,
like, when do you think Atlanta is going to get the team?
And he was like, I think we'll get a team eventually,
but it's going to be a bit.
And so that, you know, I, if I would have been able to play at home,
um, that would have, and I, and I kind of was like,
oh, maybe it'll come in a time that it'll be right at the end of my career.
And I can retire there like that would have been the dream.
Um, but, and I actually was supposed to,
I'd signed with Atlanta in 2013 with the WPS before the WPS folded.
So it just feels like a miss, you know, uh,
but no, I'm excited for the city.
And, um, I got to retire and got them.
And, uh, yeah, very, very lucky to be able to do so.
They've been an incredible club when I was late.
And yeah, so all of them.
And I prefer being Jim, you know, yeah, absolutely, absolutely.
I remember that like I started Atlanta United in 2018.
And then there were rumblings of like when the women's team comes.
Um, and it is now coming, but what will be 10 years later.
Thank you so very much for coming on the show.
We love watching you.
Gillian, thanks for having me.
This was fun.

I am happy to be back.
As you know, I was away on maternity leave,
which was back back and back back.
Very happy to be back.
Very grateful for my team that covered for me
when I was enjoying motherhood.
They're rocky and probably magical journey into motherhood.
Yeah, she's a great kid.
I cannot really complain.
Hopefully she'll start kicking a ball next to me
in one of these, you know, NWCell games.
I'm going to take her to and we'll have,
you know, let her literally in-house trained talent
coming into the league.
Perfect.
For our listeners, Asla has the most beautiful, precious baby girl
who's now four months old.
So Asla, we're so happy to have you back.
But I also know what a shift it is
to turn on a video, get prepared with a four-month-old at home.
So you're already winning by showing up here today.
Where let's get into another win.
This one far more unexpected than Asla be enabled to do both
as they say, with the Chicago stars beating the Kansas City
Kerr over the weekend, two, one.
Asla, take us inside.
What happened with this upset to say the least?
It was truly a shocking to me that anyone,
the way they play both sides under the, you know,
weather conditions they played.
Because, you know, as you know, Chicago stars play their games.
Now at their new home ground
at the Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium,
which is right on Lake Michigan.
The wind blowing from the, you know, the lake to the stadium.
Everyone looked really cold and a little bit all over the place
because it was really hard to guess where the ball was going to land.
And that aside, I think Chicago took advantage of that.
The biggest surprise came, although, I mean, going back,
I'd say the opening 25 minutes Kansas City
looked like they were dominating the game with amazing shots
from Easy Rodriguez and Michelle Cooper
that didn't find the back of the net.
However, a chaotic moment, Rookie Tessa De La Rose
found her groove and hit the ball right behind a goalkeeper
and scored her first professional goal
in her second appearance in the NWSL.
And post-match listening to her made me think
of another star is being born for sure.
And what a young talent with her eyes on the prize,
super dedicated and seems like she's enjoying every moment of it
with humility.
Now, what about this corner?
That's a better looking one, a dangerous one.
And a fruitful corner as well.
And Chicago stars have their first goal of the new season.
Yeah, I think it was a really great win at home,
especially coming off of such a loss,
that lost the unjust to come back, regroup,
and then get to it in front of our fans in our city.
I think that was really awesome.
It is a bit overwhelming,
but it's just a lot of love from everyone,
so I'll take the overwhelming.
It's a good overwhelming.
All right, so we want to make sure, obviously,
here we give Chicago their flowers.
But I think for your average NWSL fan,
they're sitting there being like,
holy moly.
What happened to the Kansas City current?
Because the Chicago stars are a team that in week one,
one out, and they lose four nil at Angel City.
Then also, they have this home opener,
and they beat the team that shattered every record
on the planet last season.
Yes, it is just match day two.
We know there's growing pains.
Yes, we know there's no Tamas Shawingga
who's still coming back from injury,
but Oslo and a scale of one to 10.
How worried should Kansas City fans be?
I don't think there should be worried.
I feel like Chicago's performance was great.
They needed that win after the big upset,
like you said, against Angel City FC.
But let's put this into, I think I would look at it
from two sides.
Like Chicago needed a win.
Chicago had two positions that they took advantage of.
One was De La Rosa's goal.
The other one was their new transfer,
amazing header.
I mean, if they missed those goals,
I would really worry about Chicago,
and they didn't, and that shows that
this league, anyone can beat any team
in any moment, like we call it a big chaotic beauty
of the league itself.
And on the other hand, for Kansas City,
they're going to be on the road for the next two more weeks again.
I think they're still getting adjusted.
Wow, they have a new coach.
Like you said, 10 ways still injured,
lost Claire Hutton.
I feel like there's going to be maybe an adjustment period,
but I don't think Kansas City fans have anything to worry.
I still feel and see that it's a great team
that is just trying to, I think,
re-structure their backline,
while also creating an opportunity
for Set North to score goals again
without her bestie, Claire Hutton.
And a new head coach in Cribs Arvis.
Okay, so along with Kansas City,
getting beaten by Chicago,
we also saw Gotham drop points at home
in a nil nil draw against the North Carolina courage
or Lando held to a 1-1 draw at home
to expansion side Denver summit.
And we saw the spirit.
I have to fight back from being down to nil to also
get a draw to to in Louisville.
If you look at this NWSL weekend,
number two, who won the weekend?
Chicago was a winner,
but also Spirits performance was definitely worth.
I mean, what an amazing comeback, right?
It was really great watching them come together.
But perhaps the winners also,
we have to look at winners who receive
their beautiful championship rings.
Gotham, at the end of their draw against North Carolina courage,
receive their championship rings,
which I wrote about for the athletic.
It was a beautiful moment.
It was very emotional.
Ali Krieger was there.
And I think when champions are rewarded
with beautiful jewelry,
it's always a win, isn't it, Jillian?
Yeah, that was really fun to watch.
It felt big.
It felt worthy.
And fitting too,
on the day that we had Kelly O'Hare,
who was there for the first ever NWSL title,
that Gotham won.
Lastly, you were at Sports Illustrated Stadium,
not only for the Brings ceremony,
but for another milestone moment
that we got to see this weekend for Gotham.
And that was the return of Tierna Davidson,
who tore her ACL nearly a year ago,
short last April.
And then finally, in this match,
she makes her return.
It was beautiful welcome to Tierna,
for sure, from Gotham fans and her teammates.
I remember when she came to the team,
and I remember how strong Gotham's defensive backline was
when she was playing.
And I remember how the team had to go
through an adjustment period once they lost her.
And now that she's back,
I feel like Gotham I've seen
is the galacticos of the East Coast.
And then let's not forget about San Diego Wave,
coming super strong with Doudinia, with Ludmila,
with Gabi Portillo, like all the Brazilians.
And soon enough, with Kat Makario,
creating galacticos of the West.
And we'll see a very exciting sort of like Bicosol,
I think rivalry with superstars in our league, right?
It's going to be very exciting,
but I think Tierna is going to have
a hard job defending her box
with all these incredible strikers coming from the West.
So I don't know, I'm excited.
All right, Oslo, so good to see you.
Can't wait to see you now for the rest of the season.
Keep killing it at home.
Keep killing it with your articles.
Thank you so much for your time.
Thank you for having me.
Have a good week.
Come on, O, with the shot, O, let it go.
From almost out of nowhere.
Micah, Havana.
And before we close out today's show,
I bring in producer Theo to give us one final roundup
of the Women's Asian Cup out in Australia.
As Theo, we have a brand new continental champion.
Yes, we do.
What a fantastic tournament year.
And maybe the beginnings of more titles for Japan,
they got the 1-0 win over the host, Australia.
Breaking Australian hearts.
So many Australian hearts, I think this Australian team
are going to have a really hard time getting over this.
The final in Sydney.
Everyone wanted them to win.
This was a lot of the same players
that had been to the World Cup semi-final were knocked out
at home against England.
And I think with so many of these veterans,
it feels like the end of a nearer
and maybe your Sam Kurs, your Caitlin Fords,
your Alana Kennedys, who Alana Kennedys was named
to play with the tournament.
You know, these players may never win anything with Australia.
And I think that's going to be really, really hard for them
to take, although their legacy down under
will not be forgotten for Japan.
Like I said, the beginning of a new dawn
of potentially title winning Japanese players,
first Asian Cup trophy since 2018.
And boy, did they look good.
Mike Havana is scoring the winner goal.
And next up on their slate,
it's three games against the US Women's National team in April.
You know Emma Hayes is sitting there being like,
ah, perfect.
Perfect opposition.
It is. It really is perfect.
And you're so right to get a team fresh from a title
is a absolutely fantastic time to play them.
I just don't, I'm not over her yet,
scheduling an opponent three times,
but I am so, so very here for the...
Get back to Emma on that.
So here for it.
It's like she knew.
It's always like Emma Hayes knows to be honest with you.
All right, Theo, before we say goodbye.
Yeah.
I'm putting this, I'm only asking
because you put this in the run now.
We got to go take a trip to fantasy corner.
We have to talk about our teams.
Theo, how are you doing?
Are you in still in like first place, second place?
Where are you?
I'm in second place.
And can I just shout out the listenership?
We're over a hundred people are in our fantasy league now.
Am I in a hundred place?
Okay, you're 75th out of 105 or something.
I should have said, I'm that one called like TL Hughes.
That's me.
That's me.
Well, no, I actually have a fun name.
My team's called Work Marta, not harder.
I apologize to everyone since I submitted my squad
in preseason.
I have not logged back onto the website.
Weekends are really busy.
Weekends are really busy.
We can change others now.
Can I give you some tips?
We had a nice message this week from log on to the website.
Log on to the website.
Remember your past words first one.
Make your transfers.
That's the second one.
Make some changes.
Adam Beasley, who is still number one.
He was number one last week in the full-time fantasy league.
He's still number one.
Clap him in.
Well played, Adam.
Go, Adam.
He actually messaged us to give us some tips
for all the listener managers out there
who want to do better in the fantasy league.
So these are the magic tips from number one,
magic man, Adam Beasley.
Number one, pay attention to the deadline.
So yes, listen to that.
The transfer deadline to make your changes to fantasy league team
is one hour before the kickoff of the match week.
And hey, good reminder, we have a mid-week, match week.
Wednesday games in the end of this week.
Oh my god.
Absolutely more chaos.
So remember, get your transfers in by Wednesday.
Number two, Adam says, look out for favorable opponents
who's playing the Boston legacy.
Maybe they will get more points in fantasy.
And the third top tip from Mr. Adam Beasley
is look for visionary players.
Now, this is a really fun part of fantasy end of yourself
for anyone who hasn't seen this.
If you have a player that less than 2% of all managers
have selected, you get an extra three bonus points
because you've selected this player as your visionary.
You're thinking that this player,
no one else has them, so you get an extra three points
if that player starts.
So look for starters who have visionary status.
That's Adam's extra top tips.
So there you have it from the number one man.
Adam, check your Venmo, okay?
Come on, help a girl out.
Julie Squad, the comeback starts now.
Julie Squad, yes.
You know what?
Match, like match week one, two.
It's just the beginning.
Like just you, you people, wait.
You wait, Adam.
Coming through.
Thank you.
All right, Theo, that's our show.
