Kevin Sheen here to tell you about when our HVAC system started acting up recently.
Foley Mechanical was the first call we made. Dan Foley came out himself and worked directly
with my wife, and let me tell you that's saying something. Foley's no corporate chain. He owns the
business top to bottom. His crew is outstanding. Their experts, especially with older homes and
radiator heat, which is rare these days. Foley Mechanical covers DC, Maryland, and Virginia,
and proudly installs a Manna HVAC systems. Trust me, they know what they're doing.
What's up, it's Draymond Green. I'm back for my 14th NBA season, and my podcast
to Draymond Green show is back too. This season, I'm breaking down games, reacted to the biggest
NBA stories and sitting down with teammates, rivals, and culture shapers. Trust me, I'm not holding
back on the court or on the mic. Two new episodes every week. New segments, big conversations,
real basketball, talk for the real hoot heads. Listen to and follow the Draymond Green show wherever
you get your podcast. We're back. We're better. Let's get it.
All right, time for Max and I to start getting after the brackets a little bit.
The ESPN Tournament Challenge, we are going to create our own little thing where you'll be able to
access our picks by what? By tomorrow night, because we'll have them up by tomorrow night, right?
We'll have them done by the show tomorrow. Yeah, well, I haven't done by the end of the show tomorrow.
The link is already up on the team 980 Twitter. So if you do want to get your picks in early,
feel free to go right ahead. Just type in the team 9 or team 980 TEM 980 as the password to get into
the Kevin Sheen show bracket challenge. Okay, so let's start with the right side of
bracket, which is the West, the West Regional and then the Midwest Regional. And the reason we're
starting with those is the two first four games are tonight. So we'll start with the West where
Arizona's the one seed they're playing Long Island. I certainly don't see any threat of a 16
over one. Arizona's loaded, by the way, absolutely loaded. This is, I love this region because the
team that I might root for more than any other is Purdue, because I'm a big Matt painter fan. I'd
love to see him finally win it all. I think Kelvin, Samson and Purdue are the two teams that I've
got a significant rooting interest in. I'd love to see a Purdue Arizona final. But Arizona
easily overlong on in an island. I'm assuming you have the same. Yeah, as much as I would like to
pick a 16 over one, I simply can't do it. Arizona is one of the few college basketball teams I've
watched a full game of this year. And yeah, they they're absolutely dominant out there on the floor.
So yeah, they're loaded. Give me ears on it. All right, the next game, this is an eight,
nine game. Look, nine speed, eight, it's like 55% of the time. And actually Utah State's favored
over Villanova. I've actually watched Villanova a lot. They've got a very good backward. I love
guard plate this time of year in particular. I'm going to take Kevin Willards Villanova team to
advance into a second round game over Arizona. I think it's an interesting matchup for sure.
You know, Utah State coolies alma mater. Man, they've been in the tournament a lot actually
over the years. But I'm going to go Nova here just because I love the back court, the Villanova
back court. Give me Utah State. I'm just going to fail. This is partially a fade play. This is
partially just, you know, this is March. And I'm going to pick a nine seat over an eight here. Yeah,
give me Utah State. You're taking Utah State over. Let me just say this about Villanova's back court
in particular. You know, they've got a local player who's played very good. He actually probably
would have been at Maryland. Akaden Lewis had Willard been the coach, but he has really, really
played well. Number 55, a lefty freshman, average 12.3 points per game. They've just got guards that
can really do it. So I'm going Nova in that one. Next up, Wisconsin at high point, yesterday
with Patrick Stevens, I asked him about sort of the coaching perception of Greg guard. I know that
a lot of people like this high point team and are giving them a chance in this 12.5. Not me.
I'll take Wisconsin. By the way, they'll probably end up being a smell test pick before their
game on Thursday. It seems like everybody loves high point for some reason. Give me Wisconsin in
this game. Five over 12. Yeah, high point seems to be a little bit of a hot commodity right now.
I think they're a win over firm and because like people are also really high on firm in this year.
But dude, Nick Boyd and John Blackwater are both averaging almost 20 points a game. I can't really,
like Greg guards a great coach and has been at Wisconsin for a little bit. I do trust Wisconsin
more than I do high point in this match up. So give me Wisconsin. Yeah, you mentioned Blackwell
and Boyd another back court. It's just outstanding. All right, next up, we get the four seed
Arkansas and the 13th seed Hawaii. I've been seeing some really good things about Hawaii. But I'm
I actually think there's a chance Darius Acuff could almost be the Walter Clayton of last year's
tournament, but as a freshman as a true freshman, he has just been on fire recently. This guy by
the time we get to the NBA draft, people are going to make the case for him as the third best player
in the draft. A cup junior seems like a player who's ready for a big run. I don't think Hawaii's
got a chance in this game. Give me Arkansas 4 over 13. The beginning of what might be like an
A cup run of averaging. Let's just say 23 plus in tournament games. Yeah, I'm we're picking here.
I'm taking the SEC champs. I call Perry. Darius Acuff. They just they have it all. Hawaii though,
they have been kind of getting hot here late in the season. So there could be a little bit of
I think they might be able to cover that 15 and a half. But damn, against Arkansas, that's that's
one tough team that you're going to be trying to cover that spread again. So yeah, give me Arkansas.
Yeah. All right, next up, by the way, this is an interesting situation in the West. It's BYU
versus the winner of tonight's Texas NC State game Sean Miller against Will Wade. I mean,
the two guys that were on the wiretaps from a few years ago and both of them should have been
in the moment. Now, everything is fine and legal, but should have been gone from the sport.
Will Wade in particular was pretty unbecoming during those times. This is I've always felt like
Sean Miller was a good basketball coach, like a really good basketball coach. I'm going to say
that Sean Miller in Texas get by NC State to face BYU. But then I'll go DeBonza and BYU for
least around. They're not the most impressive overall team, but I could see DeBonza carrying BYU
to at least one win. Yeah, I'm kind of with you on that. I do think BYU has been kind of struggling
here late to come down the stretch of the season. I forget the kid's name, but I know that they're
dealing with some injuries in that room as well. But I do think BYU is going to be able to get out
of this first round, but I don't know about the second. So give me BYU against the winner of
Texas in North Carolina State tonight. All right. I've got BYU against Gonzaga in the second round,
because Gonzaga gets by Kennesaw State. Let's get to I'm assuming you don't have an upset there.
We're in lockstep on that one, brother. So let's get to Miami and Missouri. God, Miami was just
absolutely blown out by Virginia. But Lucas has had, this is John Lucas's son,
who's had a very good year at Miami. The Canes were 25 and 8. They finished third in the ACC.
I know they're playing this game in St. Louis. Patrick Stevens described some of the expected
travel issues with some of these games. I'll go with Miami as a 7 over 10, but it could be like a
road game won't be easy. But I think that's why the public really likes Missouri. I'll take Miami
in this game. It really hurts for me to side with the public on this, but looking at some of these
wins that Missouri's been able to snatch throughout this season, like they got a win over Florida
back in January. Now I understand that was back in January and that was a long time ago.
In terms of the world of college basketball, but a win over the Florida Gators,
the defending national champs is a win over the national champs nonetheless.
Most recently, though, they have a pretty close like four point loss to Arkansas,
the another team that we both like. And the SEC has just been really competitive as a whole this
year. So I think I'm going to go with Missouri on this one, Kevin. Yeah, I'm just looking at what I
was sent here before the show on some of the numbers. It's probably not the public advantage
that I thought it's more split with Missouri playing at home, but I'm going to stick with Missouri.
And then I'll go with Purdue in the first round game setting up an interesting second round game,
Purdue and Miami. I just went and I just realized it. I just went all shock. I went with the
higher seeded team in all eight of those first round matchups.
What's going on? I'm Arche Manning, Viori athlete in college quarterback. Whether I'm running,
training, traveling, or just unlining at home, I love doing it in my core shorts from Viori.

Kevin she in here to tell you about when our HVAC systems started acting up recently.

Hi, I'm PJ vote, and I want to tell you about my podcast Search Engine. We try to make sense
to the world. One question at a time. No question too big, no question too small. We will even answer
your questions if you send them in. Stuff like, what happens when a cemetery goes out of business?
What should we do about teens using AI to do their homework? Who buys luggage at the airport
luggage store? Follow and listen to Search Engine in partnership with Odyssey wherever you get your
podcasts. Did you know what you tossing? No, I think Utah State and I took Missouri.
And you took Missouri. So you got a nine and a ten. Let's go to the Midwest, Michigan versus the
UMBC Howard winner. I think it's going to be Howard. Obviously, I have Michigan advancing there.
And then I actually really like this Georgia team out of the SEC, out of the SEC against the
St. Louis team that for a while was rolling. And I think at one point, weren't they ranked the
size like 16th or 17th in the country? But I'll take Georgia as the eight over St. Louis, the nine.
No, I'm respecting the eight ten. Give me St. Louis. You're giving your, you're respecting the eight
ten. Respecting the eight ten. Me, okay. My Rams and the St. Louis Billikins. Those are the two T
sits where I'm off the side of the bracket. Super athletic. You know that right. Listen man,
they're always athletic. Here's it. Here's a side, you know, that, you know, Akron, you know,
got in as the mid American champion tournament winner. Some people looked at their resume and said
it's actually better than Miami, Vohios. They're both in Akron's, you know, Akron has been playing well.
They're not going to be an easy out. But I will go Texas Tech in that one. The five over the 12. God,
I've got a lot of chalk here. Yeah. I mean, Akron's been, they, they just get smoked by the teams
that seem pretty damn competent. Yeah, bad loss to Purdue, bad loss to Miami,
Ohio, a couple bad losses to Yale and Murray State as well. So yeah, I'm just going to, I'm
going to ride with Texas Tech team out of the big 12 here. Give me Texas Tech. Alabama is a four
against Hofstra. Alabama will be missing a player. Do you want to tell everybody why? Yeah, he got
popped for marijuana possession. He had, I believe, the number was around 960 grams, which comes
out to 2.1 pounds of marijuana in Alabama. Yeah, Hayden Holloway. Alabama's second leading
score is out of this tournament arrested on a felony drug possession yesterday morning,
2.2 pounds of marijuana in the state of Alabama. That is called drug trafficking.
So that hurts for sure, but I'll still take Alabama over Hofstra.
No, I'm still taking Bama. I think they make a little bit of a run, but I do think that they,
they're going to get stymied here in the sweet 16.
So the Miami SMU game, the winner of that game, both of those teams are going to give Tennessee
a tough game. Jacobi Gillespie, who was a turp last year starting point guard, has played well
for Tennessee. He's got some tournament experience. I love the way obviously a Rick Barnes team
defends. I'll go Tennessee here, but I could see this being being a close game, but I'll take
this succeed. Yeah, I do agree that it's going to be close. I mean, there are ten, but Tennessee's
got some wins over some teams that I really, really respect like Houston. And honestly,
Vanderbilt team that's been pretty hot as of late. Now they did drop their last two to those
comedors, but that win over Houston early in the season. It kind of holds a lot of weight for me.
I have a great amount of respect for the Houston Cougars. So give me Tennessee, give me a
mint and Gillespie in this one. All right, Virginia and Wright State. I got Virginia
over Wright State, you two. Yeah, but this is the thing about UVA is that every time that you kind of,
you know, automatically qualify them as a win, they find a way to lose it. So I am
eyeing that that one could be a bracket buster going forward. Here's my upset in this particular
regional. I've got Santa Clara against a banged up Kentucky team at 10 over seven. Santa Clara's
big. They are very skilled with their bigs. I like Santa Clara over Kentucky at 10 over seven
in the first round. Damn, I, I'm kind of waffling back and forth on this one because every time I've,
I've talked or listened to a Kentucky fan talk about their team this year, it's just been like,
bro, we are completely unserious. Do not expect anything out of us. Don't expect anything out of
Mark Pope or anybody like that. So I think I'm going to ride Santa Clara with you on this one.
Oh, all right. Let's go. Yeah, let's do it. Let's fake Kentucky. I was state, Tennessee state.
We both I'm assuming have Iowa state advancing. Give me the cyclones. All right, let's get through the,
the, the, we kind of forgot here with the, with the time that we got to get through the rest.
Back to the west. I'll take Arizona over Villanova in a second round game.
Arkansas over Wisconsin and would could be a great second round game. Blackwell versus A cup
junior. What a battle that will be. Gonzaga over a BYU team that even with DeBonza, I haven't been
super impressed with. And I really like Purdue lawyers and Smith, that guard, you know, combination
guards in the tournament, especially experienced guards in the tournament. That sets up for me,
Arizona, Arkansas, Gonzaga, Purdue in the sweet 16. What do you have? Yeah, so I've got the same,
sweet 16 matchups as you had you have Arizona state or Arizona advancing over Utah state.
Arkansas beating Wisconsin, Gonzaga beating BYU and Purdue prevailing over Missouri.
I think one of the best games of the tournament could be Arizona, Arkansas, and that's
sweet 16. And I'm going calipari in a cuff to advance as a four seed against Purdue. But that's
where it ends for Arkansas, Purdue's into the final four. Okay, I got Arizona going all the way to
the final four. I got Purdue beating Gonzaga and then ending their title run there. Um,
because Purdue, Matt Payner, they always find a way to lose to a team that they shouldn't. But
Arizona's probably one that they should. Mitt St. Peters isn't in this draw. Michigan and Georgia,
I've got Michigan boy, there will be some athleticism on the floor. This is not going to be a
great game because the injury or the the the expulsion, I guess, of the Alabama player. I'll go,
I'll still take NATO's to get by Texas Tech and into the sweet 16 with a lesser team. I like
Virginia. I like the way this team plays their shot blocking ability with that big number 33 is
insane. That game could be 58 56. And then I'll go Iowa State over Santa Clara, but look out
for Santa Clara. They've got skilled bigs. But that sets up a shock sweet 16 for me. What's your
sweet 16? So my sweet 16 just looks a little bit different. So I got Michigan over Saint Louis,
Alabama, advancing past Texas Tech. But then I have Tennessee advancing over Virginia. I just
every March Virginia comes around and they they'll either make a big run or they will flame out
early. And I think this is probably going to be one of those where they end up exiting the first
weekend. So give me Tennessee, give me a mint, give me Gillespie. And yeah, so I think balls are
going to make it into the sweet 16. And then after them, I got Iowa State beating Santa Clara
to also advance and then getting into the or do you want to talk elite eight or do we want to
say yeah, I've got Michigan in Virginia one versus three in the elite eight with Michigan advancing
to the final four. And I've got an all big 10 matchup on one side Purdue versus Michigan. It's
a rematch of the just finished big 10 tournament title game. That's my final four on that side of
the bracket. So my final four looks like I got Michigan advancing over Iowa State. So Arizona and
Michigan will be the final four matchup. Two number ones. I got a one and a two. We'll do the
other side of the bracket on tomorrow's show. I am giving out Howard tonight, which by the way,
right now, my God, look at what's happening with this game. There's a lot of action on Howard
UMBC. Howard's now a one point favorite. If I gave it out at the beginning of the show, I would
have had Howard plus one and a half. Let me just see what the best number I can get on this game
is right now. I'm going to take the best number. Okay, I see I still see in a couple of spots. I
still see Howard at plus one in a couple of places, but they're also even and minus one. So I'm
going to take Howard plus one is the first smell test tonight. Pick against UMBC. A lot of
sharp money on Howard, publics on UMBC, thinking that this is the 16 team that beat the one-seated Virginia
team from all the way back in. What year was that 2018? 2018. Virginia won it 19, right? Yep.
All right, we're done for the day. Chris is next.
