Kiper: Browns Should Stick with Sanders, Skip QBs in Draft

On March 26th, ESPN draft expert Mel Kiber Jr. says the Cleveland Browns should skip

quarterbacks in this year's NFL draft.

He believes they already have their guy and shader Sanders, who he rates higher than

top prospect Ty Simpson from Alabama.

Kiber has championed Sanders since last year's draft when the former Colorado quarterbacks

surprisingly fell to the fifth round and landed with the Browns.

He ranked Sanders as the top quarterback and fifth overall on his final bigboard.

Fans and analysts have mixed views on Sanders after his uneven college season where he

completed just over half his passes for 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns, and 10 picks.

Still, he showed flashes like a big game against the Tennessee Titans with over 360 passing

yards and three scores.

Simpson sits as the number two quarterback on many boards and could be available at the

Browns' 24th overall pick, but Kiber urges them to, trust Sanders instead.

The team passed on free agency or trades for quarterbacks this all season.

With the draft starting April 23rd and picks at 5 and 24, Sanders looks set to lead Cleveland

into the 2026 season if no early moves happen.
