Knicks Win The Title, Wemby Got Bullied, Brunson Greatest Knicks Leader

Colin is joined by Jason Timpf, host of “Hoops Tonight” to break down the Knicks win over the Spurs in the NBA Finals.

They start with Colin highlighting  the physical play that the referees allow in the playoffs was too much for Wemby and his thin frame, and Jason argues that Wemby is built to be more of a perimeter player (3:15). Colin argues that Jalen Brunson is the greatest leader in Knicks history, and Jason explains how Brunson uses his creativity to make up for his lack of physical traits (9:00).

Colin believes that the loss will benefit the Spurs in the long run, and make them even better going forward, and they discuss how age and experience won the series for the Knicks (13:15).

Jason argues that the Spurs guards made some bad mistakes driving into the Knicks defense, and became too reliant on De’Aaron Fox taking pull up jumpers (19:00). They also debate what the Knicks will look like in a year and they both agree that the Knicks aren’t going anywhere (28:30).

They pivot to the Lakers and debate whether the should pay or trade Austin Reeves, and what type of talent to put around him should they keep him (35:45). 

Finally, they discuss how everything came together in order for the Knicks to win the championship, and why it will be difficult for them to repeat (40:30).
