Knife Rampage: Man Charged with Attempted Murder

On May 1st, a 45-year-old man named Esa Sulemon faces charges for three counts of attempted

murder after a violent knife-spray that started early Wednesday morning.

He allegedly first attacked a friend he'd known for about 20 years at his home in South

work, then headed north to Golders Green where he stabbed.

Two Jewish men, a 34-year-old, leaving synagogue and a 76-year-old at a bus stop.

Prosecutors say Sulemon called his friend's phone multiple times before getting buzzed

in around 7.50 a.m., then tried stabbing him in the upper body, but the guy fought him off.

Later in Golders Green, he chased the younger victim back toward the synagogue after

stabbing his chest, puncturing a lung, and then went after the older man adjusting his

kippah.

Both Golders Green victims ended up in hospital.

With a younger one calling his survival a miracle from God, he's home now recovering

after stitches.

The older one's stable after a neck wound, a member of the public tried stepping in and

cops tazered Sulemon right after.

And core Friday, the Somalia-born Londoner, who came here legally as a kid in the 1990s,

got remanded in custody, no pleas yet, next stop.

Old Bailey on May 15th, turns out he was flagged to the anti-extremism program back in

2020, but they closed the case quick.
