Friplane footy lives on listener thanks to McDonald's and Reem Ho order. A listener production. Here he is over! This is... What a try! The Knights Clubcast. The Knights have silenced the bunnies and are through to the semifinals. Here from Ponga, Gags and Tyson after the win. So I want because we are with David Ricchio and the Caramel Cougar, the Tyson Brazil. The Caramel Cougar is pretty happy. I saw you on the sideline when that full time siren went. You did not want this one to be your last game in a nice jump. No, not at all mate. Yeah, that was pretty special winner. I guess not only the two many people gave us a chance and we turned out four wars. We turned up with the right attitude and just a relentless role from the start.

You know, we'll give ourselves a to go into the night and we're super proud. Man, like between me and Gags and the next eldest, there's a hard-earned Gags and Gags. So I'm really proud of the young boys today. Friplane, where does the resilience come from? Because that's you touched on. I mean, you've just been injury ravies. Yeah, so many elite boys are sitting on the sidelines but yourself, Gags, Shota, enormous leadership. KP out the back was so, so influential. Where's this resilience at fight coming from? Yeah, I guess we've built it throughout the whole year. We've gone through the years, stages there with had depleted slides. So we've had some good tests through it along the way and we know it's, it's due or die. I say there's no tomorrow and he told me to step on the field now, so, no, it's just really rough. What will that do to the belief within the team? I'm sure the belief was already dead, but sometimes you just need the rubber stamp and you certainly did that tonight. Yeah, mate, it's, it's unbelievable.

It's going to do a lot of good for us, you know. We'll enjoy the win, but we know who we come up against. It's going to be a tough side, so just go out there, just do our best and then see what happens. A huge win, congratulations, Todd. Thank you, mate. I'm standing congratulations. I want to take you back 12 months, you would have thought, when do I get my chance to play some finals? When do I get to where the seven for a team and lead them through to a finals victory? You've just done that congratulations. Thanks a lot, mate. It's just a massive threat to this team, this pub and the coaching stuff, mate. You know, it's just next men up mentality at the club at the moment. We've done it all year. I'm so proud of the boys and coaching stuff. They just back it, whoever's in there, they just back all the way and just instilled up a leaf and know what anyone's out there. You're pretty yourself standing because you've had to fight. You've had to fight to get here. Yeah, mate. I just want to enjoy my footing, you know. I've been having fun this year, I've been new here, it's a good club, we've created a good environment. So I just want my footing and enjoying being out here, mate. It seems as though nothing phases this 40 club. It's just so much belief and desire, resilience, under pressure.

We know how many players are on the sidelines. And again tonight, you were the other dog. No one gave you a chance and here you are, I'm moving you to week two of the final. Yeah, mate, it's, you know, we've believed this whole year ever since we've come into preseason. We're in Justin, Steven Ailes, Betsy and Brett White come in, you know. From day one, they've had that belief in us, you know. And when you feel that belief comes from the coaching staff, you're really believing yourselves. And that's what we've got at the moment. We're enjoying our footing. What's it like playing with Caleb Pong, a GD littered up tonight? Yeah, mate. It's all to bed in the seven where you've got Caleb Pong and Fetch start, they ain't going to go up. Tom, yeah, hold these boys, it makes my life so much easier. I just stick to my rolling and do my job, mate. So it's my, I like to say that we're enjoying our footing. It's good having boys around. Warriors or dolphins? I don't know yet. I'll go find it next week. Great win, well done, go enjoy it. Thank you, mate. Thank you very much, San and Smith and, Man, KPP, well done, mate. Spirit, resilience, desire, belief. It's all there in this jersey. Yes, man, that's nothing new.

I mean, we've had a lot of evidence this year to suggest that we can come out here and play our footing, let the people that are playing tonight are going to do a job. It's been next year mentality all year and yeah, just really proud of the boys. That underdog status actually helped UK people. You come here with nothing to lose and you got just went after it. I feel like we've been going after it all year. We can't control what people think of us or where they predict we're going to be. We can control our actions and we've done that all year. I think our coach has done a good job at instilling belief, confidence and soul of footing that we love. We've put Dane Gagoyne, Tosla Priscilla, the two old boys. They just didn't want this one to be their last game in a nice jersey. Neither do we. Both have served this club amazingly and done so much for the jersey and they're not done yet. We're two next, KPP. Keta Bodies, right. Obviously enjoy the moment. These moments don't come by often. Enjoy the moment. We're going to get our minds and our body right for next week. Good luck, World Dung.

Thanks, mate. Thursday's NREL Daily, a Kiwi squad reveal with a nice twist. Our Kiwis have announced the training squad for the Rugby League Wild Cup that basically named every Kiwi player in the NREL in this one. There's some great players. So let's see Fiketty. He's been in incredible form for the races. Cooper Clarks at Kiwi as well. It looks pretty strong though. Fiketty, my paper tile. We a little bit of mail there. The mail man. No, I just, I can get selected for both boys in your squad. Yes. Yes. I guess for some of them, they'll pick their like Frances Manu Lele, who are I'm pretty sure is a Samoan eligible and Kiwi eligible. And I think he'll probably end up in the Samoan side, you would imagine. Yeah, this is really with Payne House not being in the squad or going for surgery. It concerns me that a lot of our Samoan boys might choose to play for New Zealand, which is okay. We just want. But if you have Payne House in the squad, the only other guy that I can see have some

pulling power with guys like Moolatale, Frances, Isaiah, Papalee, those kind of guys is someone like Tina. If Tina, if Tina, Pages is allegiance to Samoan, I think we could see a couple of these guys maybe jump ship Samoan. Great side boys. Well, honestly. Great walk up. Great job. I'm so excited. Wednesday's Tania and Steve, when meeting KP, goes sideways. All right, let me tell you another pommestory. Oh, yeah, getting me a job. Getting out there this morning, we're leaving to get in the car. And we all got flammestied to the suicide walk this morning and coming closer and closer. And you know, he got that guy. Doesn't that look like Bonga? Kind of giggled to myself, closer and closer. And that's Kaelin. He's leaned against my bonnet. So, because we've jadded him to a few times. Yeah, I've gone, give me car. And he got really startled. And then he looked at me and went, oh, sorry, mate.

I went, no, no, it's me. He goes, oh, good day. And I said, yeah, good luck, mate. And he goes, okay, but he kept looking at me weirdly. And then he walked away. And then he lost his standing with a flower. Well, it's a gerbra. And it's a very pink, very upright gerbra. So, don't you know what I was doing before that? And he and I go, yeah, good luck for the viral too, mate. Maybe he was waiting for you to give it to him. Yeah. You never gave it to him. It would be the first time. And just then did you know it's like called in Ponga? Well, yes. But that's okay when you're not directly talking to him. Well, yeah. We spoke to Ponga on Kaelin. Kaelin, Kaelin, two days ago. I'm setting up the story. Okay. We spoke to Kaelin Ponga on Tuesday this week. Yes. Talking leading into the finals. And obviously, it's part of my role. I call the guests that we have on a few minutes before we go to air. Yeah. And just kind of tear them up, make sure the line sounds good. And, you know, if there's anything happening on their end. And I called him and I said, oh, hey, Ponga, you ready to go? And he, without missing a beat, it's Kaelin mate.

And I said, oh, so, so, Tonya and Steve are ready when you are Kaelin. He was presuming usual. He thought that was his first name. And now that I know that story, I didn't know it because I could have given you the flower and go, that's from Jerry. Yeah, wish. I have never been scolded by a football player like that for my little one. Well, I try to do a bit cool. I was trying to, you know, connect on like a young level. I'm trying to work it out like so I'm on the phone to you, right? And I go, yeah, you got about a minute, Wilkes. Yeah, Jerry. It's, it's Daniel. It's a little bit more personable if you use the first name. Well, I have a way of doing things that up until this point has had no complaints ever. And then one football superstar, can we tell you they just don't complain to you, mate. Oh, that's true. Did you feel, did you feel very much put in your place? Did you? I just had a different understanding of maybe the way that Kaelin thinks he sees the world. What does that mean? I just think that, you know, maybe he has tickets on himself. No, he doesn't.

Well, you know, my interactions are just at otherwise, Tonya. No, I just think. No, no, he just thought you were an idiot. Anyway, yeah. He might have thought that he was pung up. You thought his name was pung up. You did think his name was pung up? Well, I mean, I did think there were three John Sprouls. That's right. And the word has got around that you're clueless when it comes to football. Hey, they all look very tough. Hey, look, there's our boss, Alan. Jason. Oh, Jason. Yeah, I know him. Do you call him Jason Alan? I call him Jason DeRullo. Yeah. You've got a theme here. Jerry doesn't call anybody their real name. Kaelin, I'm going to speak to him pretty soon. My apology. The pung up. Jim Kaelin. It's true though, isn't it? That's what it was. Yeah, but he's gone. No, no, it's calm. Yeah, I do. So between you calling him pung up and Steve, proffering gerbers to our super star, you're creating shame upon the show both of you. You'll never speak to us again. That's a lot of words going on there, proffering gerbers. You've been on jibbles. Yeah, no, no, you're right.

I can't. I can't. I can't. I can't. I can't disagree with you. I'm sitting here. Good luck on the game, mate. Hold on a bloody flower. It's trick-a-lam. Tenderest Steve. That's the natural. This is the NRL Clubcast. Back with tenure and Steve, a night's question. A grand on the line. Very morning at 7 o'clock, we play our $1,000 minute. 60 seconds, 10 questions, get them all right and you win the grand. And Kelly from Holmesville played on Tuesday. Ready to go, mate? Oh, I think so. I'm a little bit nervous. I have chemo brains. Oh, no. What are you going through? I've got breast cancer, and I'm doing... Well, the time I've finished you in another four weeks, I've done 11 months of chemo. Far out, Kelly. Isn't that good? I can't see the light at the tunnel at the end of it, Kelly. Oh, yes. It seems so far, I know, but you'll be there soon, then. Yeah, I hope. So if I do really bad, I'm blind, Keen. Very cold.

Yeah. I'd blame breast cancer, if I were you. Well, hey, let's check in and see how things went. Well, skip to question number six. We're time running out fast. The leading scientific theory about the creation of the universe is called the Big What Theory. Thank you, Rick. In cricket, if a batter gets out on the first ball, it's known as a what? Golden duck. What is the colored part of your eye called? Iris. Which band had a 1992 hit song with creep? Oh, radio hit. Radio hit. And who do the nights play Friday night? Oh, that's the end of you. I'm sorry. Don's like... What did she say? You said rabbit-o's. Did she get it on the ball? On the ball. Yeah. No, did she get it? Was that for $1,000? Yes. I'm saying yes. You got $1,000 by the four-year-old girl. She said rabbit-o's. She said rabbit-o's. Really lost all the bells. She beat it. You got a collection. Oh, my God, I can't believe it. That's so good. You know what's going to be really awkward when you think breast cancer. So when a baby that's going to be...

NRL Daily again. Phoenix Crossland stocks and a black jersey call. All right, what about the... I just like... You know, I love boys and he just sort of goes very underrated. Phoenix Crossland men. Tough player, mate. Is it a play in well since Hobbrek came in? Tough. 40-20s. Out in real men. Running, running, and he's... I felt like he was trying so hard last year when they were in a struggling side that... You can't look at him. How's this guy playing first grade? But now he's got a good coach, good system, great players around him. The same players around him that are well coached. You see the footballer in him. You know, and a hooker that can kick a 40-20 out of nowhere, that's invaluable. You know, like when you don't, when you least expect it, you know, as a... You know, a back-five and you're trying to get a penulem going and then you're waiting for... You know, someone to... Some half to keep a 40-20 or, you know, you're trying to protect the sideline and then someone like Phoenix Crossland can kick a 40-20.

That would be good. Boys, I've got rapid-five for you. Just quickly. I just had a quick thing about the spine. Ponga, Kinni. Ponga. At one. Ponga. Ponga. You were... Jerome the white seven. Jerome Hughes. Jerome Hughes. Jerome Hughes. Jerome Hughes. Jerome Hughes. Jerome Hughes. I'm sorry. I just see... He's used his horse to beat an ordinary squad. He'd been in the same one too. He'd been in some arm. OK. They'll have Nicarima at five. So they go Nicarima? Probably. Straight out. I'm Nicarima. I've got Nicarima. Yeah. Yeah, probably. Just... Just... It's a tough one. Nah, I'm going on. OK. Yeah. I'll put Nicarima in 14. And then you got Crossland cheese. Like two? I'd go Crossland and start. I'd go... I'd go crossland and start. Oh, yeah. You go start them, don't you? Yeah. I've got Nicarima. I'm going to go crossland and start. I'd go crossland and start. I'd go crossland and start. I'd go crossland and start. I'd go crossland and start. Or on 14 off on the bench. Oh, four thirty. Or thirty.

But then they'll have, um... Naffo Huwai, or Jotarpani, or... Mostly Ida Fisher, I actually got to fit the big boys in there. One of them. Yeah, well Naffo Huwai. Owery Clark, sorry, Aaron Clark in a tenetive. Aaron Clark, in a tenetive. Yeah. Naffo Huwai, my party October. In my party October, or in my party October? Yeah. In my Party October. Yeah, in my party October, or in my country, The Stuffy. You know, after the Grand Final they have to... Name their squad. They need their squad. Yeah, but play jar allegiance to whatever country you go. Yeah. white can play for New Zealand, Sarmo or Tonga? You can play for all of them. So then that that's really interesting. If he can play for all of them, the far who white declared for New Zealand, he used to clear. Jolder said, yeah, the fight will be clear. We're something like that where a guy is eligible for Sarmo or Tonga in New Zealand. What would how did they make it cool like that? Would that come down to who the family members are closest with? Yeah. They connect with the most. He said, like he goes, look, one of his parents is Sarmo and one's Tonga, but he goes New Zealand gave my family opportunity back in the day. So I'm going to repay New Zealand for what they did for my family.

So that's why he pledges the allegiance to the Kiwis. I actually saw him over in Sarmo at the end of last year. So he's got a connection to all these cultures. But I think it's commendable that he's representing the Kiwis because I like I said New Zealand gave his family an opportunity when they left the arms. Are you doing anything on the small team for this World Cup? No way. No way. No, that's another podcast. You just stay away. I'm happy to be a fan. Yeah. Yeah. I'll help the women out. So if anyone's listening, I'd love to do stuff with the girls. Yeah. But yeah, no, I like to just sit back and be a fan. Yeah. Nice. Nice. But can this team win the World Cup? This Kiwis team. I think so. Oh, definitely. Absolutely. I think it's between four teams. I think Tonga can win. I think so. I'm all can win. It's obviously Australia and I think the Kiwis. No England. No, no. Not just if they showed us in the ashes. I honestly were horrible. They were horrible. It's just like really bad.

And I'm not just even saying that like it's not that I'll, you know, bribery the problems, but they were really, really bad. They'll have a different squad. That'll be better. But yeah, I just don't think they can match it. Yeah. Well, Fiji's team might be strong as well. Because they say one thing. Yeah, go. Sorry. I mean, I've been in Rapa J. Connor needs to be half back. Okay. And that'll be a big chance. Because he wasn't getting picked in the last, last squads. And mate, honestly, he's, um, he's one of the best. I played, he played fullback when I was at home. And he's one of the best three untusavable ever seen. That's really. I played with a few good, like Benny Barber, Haynes, he'd like unbelievable. God is up tuning now. He's calm down a bit. He's, um, he's a funny guy. I got on really well with him. I think I'm really there. A lot of people like all the players, if you ask them about Jake, I'm going to be like, ah, he's, he's a grub. He will. But I'm saying that I, I loved him. But now you see him at, um, leads. He's the way he's leading them. Um, they're leading the comp. Man is still. He has to be the half back. And then they'll be a better shot.

Would you put George Williams's fit? Would you pair him up with George Williams? Yeah. Yeah. Definitely work. And then you go, what Jack Wells be at the back as well as we go on or has? He gone there because Sin Helen's a struggling aren't there? Yeah. I'll be honest. I haven't really watched much. Yeah. But he's a player. Yeah. He's, he's a player. Yeah. Jake, I think it's a rise as a, they could come out here and just, you know, everyone underestimates or they could just, um, the ashes were, were disappointing. But I wouldn't rule them out completely. Okay. Quick break. Plenty more to talk about. We're back very shortly. Last up, the rush hour boys, right the nights off. Should they? This week is finals. Now, I know we have a lot of listeners in Newcastle. We do. South's are going to kick their ass back up the M1 or the F3 or whatever you call it. Now, are you hearing it in Newcastle fans? Don't waste your time. Don't even turn the TV on. South's will lap them. I don't know about lap them. I'm going to, I'm going to, I'm going to tip South's all right. So don't, don't take offense in Newcastle fans.

I just think you've been riddled with injuries, key injuries. You've got suspensions and what not. So I know Kaelin at full back still can be very dangerous. Sharp in the halves with Sandin Smith. I think it's been very underrated. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sandin Smith, but you look at the South city side. They are on fire all across the board. The trails back, duffty at full back, it's been outstanding. Cody Walker has been awesome. That a bit of late. And the forwards for South's, they are really saddened to let the platform, slip the platform. Tell us Duncan for photo. Where's that going for? Yeah, I know. I know. And what about that tricecord against the Titans? We haven't seen that in a while. Have we? We know he can do it. But he's, he did it again. He's, he's, he's, he's like a manchild playing against the little kids. And poor old nights are no train mooney and no j, no Jacob so feedy. A ta ta. Yes, unfortunately, unfortunately, nights fans, I think so. It's been a great turn around. Wooden Spurners last year, top eight this year.
