Kon Knueppel Breaks Hornets 3-Point Record

On April 3rd, Charlotte Hornet's rookie, Khan Newepple, just etched his name in team history

by breaking the franchise record for most three pointers in a season.

He hit four from deep in their 127-106 blowout win over the Phoenix Sons at Spectrum Center

Thursday night, pushing his total.

To 261, that top-demark said by Hornet's legend, Kimber Walker, who drained 260 in the

2018-2019 season.

Newepple bounced back strong with 20 points on 7-14 shooting, including four of nine from

beyond the arc, plus three boards, and two.

Asigasts, before tip-off, Walker gave him some words of encouragement, firing him up to

chase the record after Newepple struggled one for nine from three in his, prior two games.

The 20-year-old Duke product, the number four overall pick, admitted he had a rough off
