I mean, that's three wins in a row, folks,
for a team that hadn't won two straight since Jimmy Butler
went down.
I guess a stretch of Brooklyn and Washington
is just with the doctor ordered,
but it's a Washington team that I'm convinced
they were actively trying to lose this game.
Because Bala Kool-Abali was one of the best players
on the floor and he was nowhere to be found
in the fourth quarter.
Bub Carrington, nowhere to be found.
Alex Sarr, nowhere to be found.
They were running the likes of Anthony Gill
and Justin Shampini and Jayden Hardy
who hadn't played it all in the first half.
All the sudden starts playing down the stretch.
They did have Will Riley on the floor
who looks really good for a young player.
But that's a Washington team that you needed to beat
and the Warriors gave up a big lead.
They were up by, what, 12 at half time.
And Washington was able to take the lead
for stretches there in the fourth quarter,
with the Warriors able to pull it out.
On today's show, key talking points
I want to get into, a Steph Curry, the injury update.
A somewhat, I don't want to say pessimistic,
but realistic Steve Kerr talking about the possibilities
that Steph Curry may not play the rest of this season.
The running out of time was the exact words
that were spoken there,
gotta get into Guy Santos's incredible play as of late.
But we start with Chris Stapps Porzingus
who goes for 28 points for the Dubs, 9 of 17.
Loves chucking up those threes, five of 11,
grabs eight rebounds, protected the rim.
He was awesome.
And I have gotten to the point now
where I've seen enough of Chris Stapps Porzingus
in terms of, I knew what he could do on the floor.
I don't need to see him play with Steph.
Like, that's basically when Jimmy Butler joined the team
last year and if you questioned,
is Jimmy Butler gonna work with Steph Curry?
Of course, he's gonna work with Steph Gort Curry.
Of course, Chris Stapps Porzingus is gonna work with Steph.
I don't need to see that.
It was the health factor all along.
Could he stay on the floor?
Could he play consistently?
And he's done that.
I mean, for the most part,
since that stretch of games to start his Warriors 10 year
where he didn't play at all,
Chris Stapps has been extremely reliable
and another really good game.
He shows off that mid-range jumper,
that bullet line drive where he's a security blanket.
Late in the shot clock,
you can get Porzingus the ball
and he's gonna make something happen.
And he did that today
and then he put the icing on top of the cake
with that tip slam,
late to give the Warriors a five point win at home.
The Dubs protected the basketball better
than they have in recent games,
but there was a stretch in the third quarter there
where they were kicking it all over the place.
Pat Spencer, the home run pass.
I was actually sitting, we were at Chase, Kyle and I.
And we're sitting there
and I see that pass fly down the floor
and I think it was two Porzingus
with three Wizards players around
and I thought to myself,
was that dream on that,
because he always makes that pass.
And Kyle was like, no, that was Spencer.
And Curry, you could tell he was ready to explode.
Steph went up to him and he's like,
it's the Wizards, Steve, like to come on.
Let's not lose your mind too much over that.
LJ Cryer had 12 points in the game, all on three pointers.
I love how his game is strictly just catching shoot threes,
maybe off the dribble,
but there's no other part to his game
aside from attack, kick and then shoot threes.
That's what LJ Cryer does.
And you gotta love that.
Spencer had 13 Gary Payton continues to play
really good basketball with 15,
but Gempski was on triple double watch with 22, 10 and seven.
Richard had eight,
Gisanto's had 27,
Dremon had 64 and 10.
But back to Porzingus.
Is anyone not in the camp of
Chris Daps coming back next season?
It's a gamble.
But here's the way that I look at this thing.
The only way that the Warriors are going to
to reach their mission next season,
which is contending for a championship
is to take some form of a gamble.
They can't be conservative entering next season
and expect to do anything.
That's just not the way they're set up right now.
And Chris Daps was in this is a gamble
that could potentially pay off.
Maybe not only next year, but beyond.
He's an unrestricted free agent this summer
with his $30.7 million contract expiring.
And Monty Poole actually had a report
that came out recently saying
that he thinks Porzingus is going to come back.
This is kind of like the the feel-out stage
between both parties to see if the Warriors
would want Chris Daps and if Chris Daps
would want to return to Golden State.
And he said that he loves Rick Celebraini
said after Thursday's practice that Rick is the goat
really happy with all these guys.
I'm sure they'll keep me on the same path.
And Monty said that it's likely that
Porzingus would resign with the Warriors in the offseason.
And after 27 and 8 today and looking healthy,
you see a viable scoring option.
You see his rim protection.
And I don't see any reason why you wouldn't want
Chris Daps and Porzingus coming back next year.
Now what is the number?
I don't know.
Could Porzingus and Melton come back together?
That answer is likely no unless Dremon Green
were to go out there.
That's the only way to make financial salary cap
situation work is for Dremon to no longer be a part of this.
And I don't think that's going to happen.
So I would have to imagine this is probably it
for Anthony Melton as a warrior.
But maybe they can finagle something.
We'll see.
I've gotten to the point that where
Chris Daps needs to touch every possession.
Too many times in the game today,
it was Pod's pick and roll with Porzingus
and Pod's comes off the screen and launches a D3.
And he was fine shooting in today's game with Pajemski,
three of eight, miss some deep ones,
but hit some big time threes.
I just think that a possession is wasted if you're not
getting the ball into Porzingus's hands
because the double is going to come.
If the double is not going to come,
he can make something happen.
And he's just given you the best opportunities to score.
Again, over 50% from the floor, nearly 50% from three in the game
and got to the charity strike seven times.
So I'm all on board with Chris Daps Porzingus
returning next year.
That is my number one takeaway from today's win.
It's not beating the Washington Wizards who are Basura.
I mean, they have six road wins.
They're now 17 and 56 on the season.
And like I said, they could have potentially won this game,
had Kula Bali, Bubb and some of their others
been playing in the fourth,
but it did feel like they were actually tanking.
And they were talking trash.
I don't know if you were able to see it on TV,
but from the bird's eye view of where I was sitting
and club four, whatever it was, right, half court,
what, fourth, whatever it was.
You could see the vantage point of Bubb Carrington
and Anthony Davis obviously wasn't taking part in it,
but it was like three other Wizards dudes on the bench.
Bubb, maybe Balal and Tsar just going after GP2,
talking trash and I'm sure GP2 tried to point to a box score
somewhere in the arena.
It's like, have you guys seen your record?
You're now six and 30 on the road.
You guys suck, but they didn't suck today
for a large portion of this game.
The Wizards shot 53% for the floor, 43% from three.
They were really doing whatever they wanted
against Golden State's defense.
That includes even against Dremont
in the isolation matchups that they had against them.
They were getting good looks.
Will Riley was getting to a spot.
He was knocking down shots.
Jayden Hardy was hitting shots.
Sharif Cooper was getting to the bucket.
Anthony Gill had 14 points in the game.
Kool-of-Bolly was cooking.
Bubb Carrington was getting to the mid-range.
Alex Tsar, interesting prospect.
He is good rim protector.
But man, he does not have discipline defensively
in terms of keeping grounded.
You saw it with a play where pods went in transition.
I'm like, oh, how's this going to end up with Tsar there?
And he ended up getting Tsar to bite on his pump
and pods ended up going to the free throw line
where he's been living lately.
Got to the line eight more times today.
Did Pajemsky and knock down seven of them
so you will not complain.
Geese Santos, what a rise we have seen
from this man from Brazil, the second round pick
that is turned into the Warriors, what, second best player,
maybe best player during this stretch of games
where Steph Curry's been out.
I want to tell you about Geese Santos' performance tonight
and why I have come to the conclusion.
I've seen enough, like Porzingus, I've seen enough
that Geese is just good.
He's just a hooper, man.
We'll talk about it coming up on Lockdown Dubs.
Destroy Jimmy and Domino.
I know Jimmy Drink is great wine.

We got Kylin Mills on the program for this segment
is she made her Giants debut today.
We went to the Warriors game after.
It's that camera, Kylin.
You're just the shots not going to look great,
but we value your input regardless.
A Geese Santos was incredible for the Dubs today
scoring 27 points.
Was that your number one takeaway from today's game?
Was Geese play?
Geese play.
And I think that I know you were talking about early in the show
just being impressed by Christophe Porzingus.
However, I'm opposite of you in terms of your stance.
You sounded pretty sure after watching tonight's game,
we got to watch live in person.
So it is different seeing the players up close and personal.
Your take was that the Warriors need to sign Christophe
no matter what, correct?
Was that a no matter what?
I mean, I wouldn't say no matter what,
there are things that can happen before the season ends,
but as of what we see in the last 10 games
from Porzingus, assuming he remains healthy,
the rest of the way, sign Christophe Porzingus, yes.
Yeah, I just still think that the injury slash illness concerns
there too much for me.
Now, extremely impressive.
I think he's a perfect fit with the Warriors.
Obviously, they love a big who can stretch the floor.
They've needed some size, just verticality in terms of just height,
like vertical height, not that he's like extremely athletic
and verticality.
But the issue for me is what's gonna be the price tag?
Like the fact that he was on a $30 million contract.
Yeah, right.
So that's the thing, like how big of a bargain can you get
Porzingus for?
I just don't know how much I'm willing to spend.
Like are we talking 15 or are we talking 20?
I saw people tweeting that they wanted it.
Like 25 would be good.
They would bring him in on a minimum.
I'm like, okay, I think that's, yeah,
but I think that's pushing it.
I don't think that's realistically what he's gonna settle for.
So for me, I'm not as sold as you.
I think he's a great fit with the Warriors in terms of the skill,
but I just think that the illness and injury concerns,
like how many games has he played total in the last three seasons?
Like the Warriors already have guys who are old
and who are banged up, like you just can't put a lot of money
into signing another player who may or may not play.
Now again, I think if you get him on a great deal,
I don't know that I'd go 25, maybe 20.
If we get him on 20,
I think I would drop in the comments
kind of what your dollar amount is.
I think I would, if we got Christophe's on 20, 20 a year.
I don't know, I wouldn't do 25.
I think that's too high.
Yeah, depends on the price.
For someone who's not healthy.
For someone who's not healthy,
but he was very impressive and then geek.
Gees emerged.
Like what an electric player.
Now, everyone knows who's been following this program
and watching the Warriors.
Like, since he first got signed
and since he first took the floor for the Warriors
and not the C-Dubs,
you could tell there was an electricity in his play,
there was an energy, there was an intensity,
there was a spark.
Like I just think there's certain individuals
that have an it factor and to me right away,
you could tell that he had an it factor
and it's not even like I said,
a precise thing about his skill set.
It's just the it factor.
And now we're seeing it officially.
No, it's starting to see that.
From the floor today, he does that every single night.
I know, but I'm talking about one,
they first signed it.
Like before he even emerged and started producing,
but he had the it factor where it just feel like
you could tell that he was going to be a player
who could impact games.
And now we're seeing the numbers start to reflect that
and the efficiency and the shooting
and he just looks more confident.
He looks more comfortable.
He lets the game come to him at least offensively,
but he always had that spark in terms of like bringing,
bringing defensive energy, getting after it on the glass.
He would score a couple buckets.
He could get out and transition,
but now you're really seeing the shooting efficiency come along.
So I love energy.
I think it's great.
My last comment I want to make though
was the fact that like we were watching
this Warriors team warm up, and it was just the funniest thing.
We both took videos because I'm like,
who are these people on the floor?
Like this isn't the beat.
No, it was the hidden camera.
It was a hidden camera in the tunnel before the game.
And eventually pods crashed it and I'm like,
all right, at least they have an NBA starter in there.
But at one point it was Omar Yurt7.
Yeah.
It was Malaviv Leon's.
It was Pat Spencer.
It was LJ Cryer.
And there may have been one other.
Is there even another g-leagor on the team?
May have been like, will Richard,
may have been Will Richard or something.
But it was like five dudes sitting in there
that they were highlighting before this game.
And I just remember looking at you saying like,
two years ago, two and a half years ago,
we would have been in this arena
and it would have been a spotlight on Curry, Thompson,
and Dremon.
And now we're talking Leon's Yurt7
who is a quality space taker upper.
I mean, he didn't score it all tonight.
His final stat line, he doesn't try to shoot.
He just goes out there and grabs some boards.
I mean, Yurt7 in eight minutes, zero points,
zero shot attempts, three rebounds, a turnover,
zero steals, zero blocks, zero assists,
just eight minutes of take-up space, two fouls.
Eight minutes of just take-up space,
give us a big body.
We're not expecting much of you.
You haven't been in the NBA since 2024.
And-
What about Leon's?
He just, to me, looks like a baby deer
who hasn't figured out how to get his legs to work
for his body size.
He's just so lanky.
He kind of looks like Yurt7 to a degree
to where I kind of get the two confused Yurt7
a little more bulky.
But Gary Pate, I mean, he was around the bucket all night
tonight, making unbelievable cuts.
He was just a couple shots away from a Warriors record
with 16 buckets in a row.
The record was 19 by Will Chamberlain.
I don't know if he finished 7 of 11.
I don't know if he hit his first four to break that record.
I didn't hear anything about it.
So imagine he didn't.
But Gary Pate has been playing some unbelievable ball lately.
I want to shift away from Gary Pate.
I do think-
I tear it up and she just says-
Look, look, look.
I just have thoughts going on in my head.
Gary Pate has been great during this recent stretch.
And he was actually very elite tonight,
speaking of a player as the factor.
It's been kind of bizarre as someone
who watched Gary Pate's rise from the G League
to earning a spot in the Warriors
to being a premier player in that championship run.
To watch it just kind of weighing,
like that spark just kind of fizzled.
And it was like, where is that Gary of the past?
And just what he brought in his on-ball defense,
the perimeter defending the Warriors of Flax so much.
But then also like the spark was some of the dunks
to playing so much bigger than his size.
Like, I don't know what it is,
but I just feel like he's lost his spark.
But he has looked good during this last stretch.
But you know what I'm saying?
It felt like some of that special magic
that he had for a couple of years
and during the Warriors Championship season.
Like he's one of the guys that kind of like-
when he came back to the Warriors,
of course, after going to Portland,
dealing with the injury,
like I just feel like he's never been the same since.
But it's been good to see him get back on that track.
Sorry, what my brain was really pondering
during these last couple of minutes
was just because we were talking about Christophe's Porzingus
is what a lot of the beatwriters and fans
have been pondering,
do you feel like you need to see Porzingus with Steph Curry
to feel confident about bringing him back?
Because there are a lot of people
that are still saying, yes,
bring Curry back to figure out what that looks like
with Porzingus or even at the front office.
It would want to see what Curry and Porzingus
look like together.
The front office knows it would work.
I mean, we know that Porzingus game is at this point
to where a big that can stretch the floor
and can play in the pick and roll
and they can pass and they can command double teams.
There's absolutely no way it wouldn't work.
But again, the health factor is the only factor
when it comes to Steph Curry.
So I want to-
I still think there's a debate there to be had
about whether or not it's worthwhile to bring Porzingus back.
I don't think there should be a debate
about whether Steph Curry should come back.
Like Steph needs to just rest, weight it out.
At this point, there's no, I don't personally think
there's any use of him coming back
to playing a playing game.
Like, come on.
No Jimmy Butler, let's pack it up.
I mean, he's getting paid $60 million per year.
Like from a, from a fans perspective,
like we as podcasters, as warriors fans
deserve to watch Steph Curry play.
If he's healthy to go, he should absolutely play.
Okay, but at his age, you cannot risk him getting hurt again
because that's the thing.
He's not coming up.
Anytime you're coming off an injury,
you're going to be more vulnerable to another injury.
So I'm 10% cleared if he plays.
Yeah, but no, I'm saying even if he's clear, don't play.
Don't play.
All right, Kyle Miller is made up of mine.
And I am not someone who is an advocate
for the load management.
That is beyond frustrating to me.
Look at MJ's numbers back in the day
as someone who is a diehard bull's fan.
Like those dudes back in the 90s played.
They played every game.
They went 110%.
Now, of course, every game minus injuries.
But I do miss some of the era of NBA basketball.
And there's something to be said
about players wanting to have more longevity in this day
and age.
And I get that to some degree,
but I'm not a fan of the load management.
But this is a very specific case
where you're talking about one of the best shooters of all time.
You're talking about the centerpiece of this franchise
dealing with what's a pretty complicated injury.
Actually, what's the wording again?
It's a patella, patella, femoral pain syndrome.
I sister had that going up.
Anyways, that's runners knee.
Yeah, runners knee.
Like that's just something like why?
Why?
And even if you're not at risk of that happening again,
like if you come back late in the season,
you're at risk of any kind of injury at all happening.
And it's not worth it because ultimately,
like what are you playing for?
Does anyone believe this team even think out of the plan
and get to a series is going to win an NBA championship?
Like let's be realistic.
And I love the warriors.
Let Steph rest, refocus and regroup for next year.
Let's get to the off season,
figure out what this roster is going to look like.
Are we bringing back for Zingas?
Honestly, if they did, like Jimmy,
or Zingas, Steph, that could be a very interesting team.
Now, the issue is that all doesn't work
the way the warriors are currently built
with the roster and the salary cap.
So that's going to be a big question mark.
I just was looking at a projection
and a bunch of people on Twitter who were saying
that they could maintain poor Zingas
and the entire rest of the roster
if they got rid of Draymond Green.
So that's something to ponder for the off season.
It's not going to happen.
You don't think just because he's dry.
Just because he's dry.
Okay, Dubs fans, would you want to see it?
Do you think, do you think that if that means bringing back?
So like I think the thing that I saw
was that they couldn't resign
Melton and Porzingus with Draymond staying.
Like there's just no possible way
with a salary cap being what it is.
And these are conversations obviously get deeper
into in the off season.
But like Dubs are going to have some decisions coming up.
Listen, the season's coming down to the wire.
There was no reason to push Steph back
to play in a couple of playing games.
I don't care if he's 110% cleared.
That's the side I'm on of the fence.
All right, we got Steve Kerr's comments
on the matter coming up.
I want to talk more about Guy Santos straight ahead
on Lockdown Warriors.
Appreciate you hopping in, Kylin.
Wasn't expecting it.
All right, Lockdown Warriors will continue after this.
It's all mean to hop in.
I did.
And buddy, stop trying to dribble the ball.

Hopefully we'll never find out.
Few things are as uplifting
as the greatest moments in sports.
And nothing brings us together quite like Team USA
at the Olympic Winter Games.
From NBC Universal's iconic storytelling

Comcast brings the Olympic Games home to America

When Team USA steps onto the world stage,
we're not just watching.
We're cheering together.
This winter we're all on the same team.
Comcast, proud partner of Team USA.
All right, one thing I wanted to mention
about Guy Santos before we move on to Steph Curry
and this is a very potentially delusional mindset.
Definitely the optimist in me coming out with, hey,
what was it?
Pat Spencer's coach from high school last night.
Actually funny enough, Thursday night
I went to an event down on Embarkadero at Pier 27.
Pat Spencer was speaking there.
It was honoring coaches and on the way there,
I saw Will Richard walking down Embarkadero
just chilling with flip-flops on.
And then 10 minutes later saw Pat Spencer.
I'm like, oh, the Warriors are for sure went in tomorrow.
And they did.
And one of the quotes that was said during that event
was there are no positives to be gained from being negative
and there are no negatives that happen from being positive.
I think that was what it was.
And he's right.
So we'll give you the optimism here.
And it's that Guy Santos getting this opportunity has been huge.
Obviously the year unraveling this way sucks.
If we could go back and fix some things
and tell Jimmy to sit out for the Miami game
and I don't even know when Steph's knee started flaring up.
But Moses Moody, if you could take him out
with two minutes left in the Mavericks game,
of course you're going to change these things.
But now that it's already happened,
you got to look for the positives from this.
And the dude is legit.
He just backed up 31 points with 27.
You see the footwork and the body control
and just the IQ, a great passer.
So maybe this is protecting myself to a certain degree,
not thinking that he's super legit
or at least wanting to see more
because we've seen enough now for like a month and a half straight
that tells me he's legit.
So maybe I'm protecting myself.
After all, I was one of the guys leading the charge
on spin sanity, but it feels like he is legit.
And it's funny because last year people really lost their minds
that Yi Santos got the nod over Jonathan Kaminga.
And it's starting to appear like he may be better.
I mean, Kaminga at three points tonight,
he was O of five, I think it was for the Hawks.
Santos just went for 31 and 27 and back to back.
I get it, the Hawks are better.
Make that argument, he's not on the team anymore.
It's irrelevant.
This is not a shot at JK, it's more a clap for Yi
who is starting to legitimately look really good.
Now in terms of the Warriors playoff expectations,
obviously it comes through winning the nine, 10 play in game.
That's what they are locked into at this moment.
And it's gonna be against the Portland Trailblazers
who lost to the Dallas Mavericks in today's game.
So the Warriors creep up a game behind Portland in the standings
and that's just the difference of home or away.
The Warriors get the nine, they're gonna be playing
the Blazers at home, they beat the Blazers.
Then it's likely, I mean, at this point, who's even the seven?
It's likely, I guess the Clippers who you're gonna get.
And I mean, I don't feel good about back-to-back
wins over Portland and the Clippers by any means,
but I feel a lot better if Steph Curry was on the floor
and going back to what Kylin said,
we don't know how many games left of Curry we're gonna get.
Truly, I mean, it would not be the craziest thing
in the world to say that he keeps having setback after setback
and based on a lot of people having this injury
and never being the same afterwards,
I think Steph Curry's gonna play another basketball game.
I don't think his career is over by any means,
but you never know how serious something is until it's over.
And just because he hasn't dealt with this issue in the past,
does it mean that it becomes chronic
and it's something that drives Curry into retirement?
So if he's able to play, you're absolutely playing him.
He's paying, you're paying him $60 million
to entertain the fan base and to put on a show
and to provide joy.
And that's what he's gonna do, win or lose.
So I don't care whether you're in the play-in,
seven-game play-off series, I wanna see him play.
Steve Curry said it's becoming less and less likely by the day.
He needs a ramp up period.
They're not gonna bring him back for the play-in tournament,
have him play one game in the play-in tournament
all as well, good to go for the play-offs.
He needs a few games to ramp up
and they're running out of games.
We're less than 10 games in the regular season.
So that's a real storyline now.
For a long time, it felt like, all right, he's gonna be back.
I mean, we thought he was gonna be back right
after the all-star game.
Him and Porzingas were supposed to play against Boston.
That was like a month ago, maybe even more than a month ago.
So I don't know, we may not be seeing Curry this season.
And if that's the case,
going back to what we were talking about with Porzingas,
I don't need to see them on the floor together.
They would work.
They would 1,000% work.
Now, Porzingas's number is 25 million too much.
That's for the books to decide.
But I don't think you have a lot of opportunities
to get a better player in free agency
than Chris Staff's Porzingas,
especially one that provides what you need.
28 and 8 tonight for Porzingas.
He was good.
Taking a look around the league,
Clippers beat the Pacers, 114, 113,
Kawaii Leonard had 28 points in the game.
Boston beat the Hawks, 109, 102,
Peyton Pritchard at 36, Jalen Johnson at 29 for Atlanta.
Cavs destroyed the heat, 149 to 128.
Strew said 29.
Jaime Hawkez had 20 for the heat.
Rockets beat the Grizzlies by 10.
Prosper had 31 for the Grizz.
Durant had 25 for the Rockets.
Thunder beat the Bulls, 131, 113.
Case in Wallace had 21.
Tyus Jones had 21.
Raptors beat the Pelicans, 119, 106,
22 and 7 for Zion, 23 for Scotty Barnes.
Nuggets beat the Jazz.
Billipowski had 25 in a losing effort.
Yokech, just your standard triple double
like every 9, 33, 15 and 12.
The Warriors beat the Wizards by five.
Will Riley had 22 to lead the way for Washington.
Porzingus had 28, Nate, as I mentioned,
and Porzingus has been a number one option in a minute now.
Again, he was buried on the depth chart
in terms of putting the ball on his hands
and asking him to make a bucket for Boston
with Jalen Brown and with Jason Tatum
and with Peyton Pritchard and with go up and down the list
of guys and get you a bucket.
So Porzingus was a complimentary piece there
and he's showcasing now that you can put the ball on his hands
and he can go to work.
Patrick speak the Blazers, 193, Dinyabdi had 20.
Bagley had 26 and 9.
Marvin Bagley, low keys having a pretty good year
for Dallas as of late.
Still a young enough guy that I'm keeping tabs on him,
although like I said, there are just rebuild merchants,
rebuild Mirages that were hoping Gees Santos is not.
And I think Bagley's probably a rebuild Mirage.
Someone scoring 26 and grabbing nine boards on a team
that's just not very good.
Luca goes for 40 points and the Lakers beat the Nets 116 to 99.
That is your look around the league.
That'll do it for Lockdown Warriors.
