Landeskog & Injured Forwards Return for Avalanche Road Trip

Good news for Colorado Avalanche fans, as Captain Gabriel Landiskov hit the ice for practice

Friday before their game against the Chicago Blackhawks.

The 33-year-old forward, sidelines since early March with a lower body injury, is expected

to return during the team's current four-game, Road Trip.

Following him were fellow injured forwards, Arturie Laconin, Ross Colton, and Logan

O'Connor, all showing solid progress.

These players have been out with various upper body issues and surgeries, missing key games

in recent weeks.

Leckonon has 19 goals, and 23 assists in 59 games this season, while Colton has 8 goals

in 15 assists over 60.

O'Connor has yet to suit up after offseason hip work.

Landiskov brings a story comeback story, having missed three full seasons from knee

problems and multiple surgeries, including a cartilage, transplant.

He returns strong with points in every game since the Olympics, where he scored twice

for Sweden, and now has nine goals in 20 assists in 47 games.

Coach Jared Bednar noted they're all traveling on the trip, with possible returns as soon

as Sunday in Washington, or later against Pittsburgh on, Tuesday or Winnipeg on Thursday.

The avalanche lead the central division with a 44, 13, 10 record, two points ahead of

Dallas, and can clinch a playoff spot with one.

With these key pieces potentially back soon, Colorado looks primed to strengthen their

top seat push as the road trip unfolds.
