released on electronic monitoring only to have Metro police refuse to do so. The conflict is
now before the Nevada Supreme Court, with challenges filed by both Metro and the Clark County Public
Defenders Office. In at least one case, Metro faces the possibility of being held in contempt of court.
Metro stands is that they have authority to refuse to release a defendant who poses
in their view and unreasonable threat to public safety. In the view of the public defender's office
and the judge who has figured most prominently in the dispute, these are court orders that
Metro must follow. Around 450 people are on electronic monitoring at any given time,
according to Metro. There's one city in Nevada that uses water from Lake Mead, but doesn't
send any back and officials are trying to change that. Boulder City has received a $1 million
grant from Congress as a first step toward building an infrastructure to send water back to the lake,
which is projected to hit record low water levels in 2027. The mayor said, I don't want to call
it wastewater. I want to call it water that is reused. This is step one and a long term plan
so that the water that is recycled can go back into the lake. And you know how low the lake is
and dropping fast so that won't be much needed and then we'll recycle back.
A spokesman for the Southern Nevada Water Authority says some of Boulder City's reclaimed water
is used for dust control at solar facilities in the El Dorado Valley and a quarry. Engineers are
looking at potential ways for the city to use its wastewater, including for irrigation within the city.

use the empty land at the property to build an NBA arena. Castro, who was recommended for
licensing by the board, did not comment on the prospects of an arena or team. A source tells

Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. That ended broad recommendations for vaccines against
illnesses like the flu, hepatitis A and B, and some forms of meningitis. Medical groups are
suing the federal government over the changes in recommendations. A spokesman for the Department
of Health and Human Services said it looks forward to the judge's decision being overturned.
