Politics. I'm doing a lot of this, but it's getting pretty scary, especially if you're in,
well, I'm trying to get some examples where I don't sound too strident.
If you're in line at an airport, I'm not sounding strident enough.
We start with the fact that the lines at some airports are now almost five hours
in length. It's just crazy. Anybody's flying these days is nuts. I mean, just can't do it.
So the issue is the funding of TSA. Not Homeland Security, mind you, just the funding of TSA,
because Homeland Security, for example, ICE is fully funded. You know that.
The ICE folks that are out there are getting paid. The TSA folks are out there working,
and they're not getting paid. What ends up happening when you have people that earn that little
money and TSA workers don't get a lot? Generally, missing a paycheck is a very, very big deal,
and they're now on their second paycheck missed. A lot of them are simply not going to work,
even though they're supposed to under the law. You've got airports Houston, JFK,
were 30% of the TSA agents are not showing up. They called in sick. A small percentage
have already quit, and that's going to grow. And so until this thing comes to somehow comes
the way ahead, it's really bad. So here is where the president, I think, is blowing it again
on the PR front. Forget about which side of the coin you're on. It's just the perception. One
of the things, for example, of moving ICE agents to those airports to somehow help alleviate
the problem with the lines, whether or not that helps or doesn't help. No one knows at this point.
But here was a situation where the president is sending ICE agents to help out, and that's
a positive. You know, that's a positive. All we're doing here is helping with the lines. We're
helping the processing of people through. We're not here to arrest anybody. We're not here
to create any kind of altercation. We're just here to help. Number one, all of a sudden ICE has
a chance at a much better reputation instead of being basically all negative. The president has
a chance of saying, I'm going to help this situation. And instead, what the president does is go
out and says, Oh, I believe that I'm doing a good job in sending them out. They're going to help.
And they'll be able to catch a whole lot more illegal aliens and deport them and detain them
right there at the airport. Whoa. Okay. Good move. Right. Defeat out of the jaws of victory.
Well, another one is coming down. And this has to do with Department of Homeland Security shutdown,
with ICE still being funded. And so the president, this was Sunday, was presented with a potential
off ramp to this Department of Homeland Security shutdown. The Democrats are saying we will fund
every part of the department except for ICE, which is already funded.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune spoke with Trump right after the staff presented the idea
to the president with the president rejected the idea. He went to he went on truth social
to attack the Democrats. How unusual for not backing the Save America Act. What he has done is
connected the Save America Act to the shutdown and the funding of the Department of Homeland
Security. What does one have to do with the other? Not much. So a federal elections overhaul bill
is with the Save America Act. And by the way, it's impossible for to go through the Senate.
This is simply an exercise in futility. And all it is is a disaster in terms of the public
relations for the Republican Party. And especially the president. President doesn't care.
President is there for three more years. He is not going to be reelected. There is nothing stopping
this president from doing exactly what he wants except for Congress or the court stopping him.
And as we've discussed many times before, this particular president is truly testing the boundaries
of presidential power. We've never had a president who has stretched the boundaries to redefine how
powerful the presidency is. I think people that say this is well beyond just the presidency of
Donald Trump. I think that's a legitimate claim. It is. If it is, people talk about a kingdom.
And I think President Trump views the United States as a kingdom. Or views the United States as
a constitutional republic, but the constitution being as he defines it. I am the constitution.
I will tell you who is the constitution. And if you disagree with me, you are a traitor to the
constitution. That's the basic premise. Okay. So now no deal is being cut because the president says,
you don't say you don't pass the Save America Act. They're not there's not going to be any
inviting funding of Homeland Security. We're fine. And so what he does is he goes and posts
to truth social. I'm going to quote now, I don't think we should make any deal with the crazy
country destroying radical left Democrats unless and until they vote with Republicans to pass
the Save America Act. It is far more important than anything else we're doing in the Senate.
And that includes giving these same terrible people, the Dems, who are to blame for this mess
a $5 billion cut in ice funding, a deal which even when disguised as something else
is unacceptable to me and the American people. If it's unacceptable to me,
according to the world of Donald Trump, it is then unacceptable to the American people. There
is no no daylight between those two statements. Again, I am the constitution.
And if therefore if you are not in favor of me and my policies, you are against the constitution.
All right, I want to come back and keep on going with this one because there is a real interesting
factor. I don't and I just don't get it. I truly don't get it. I mean, it's at some point,
this is just, you know, delusional. Is that fair to say? I'll explain my position and what's
actually going on. You know, and by the way, take it with a grain of salt, what I say, you know,
I'm biased. You know, I am completely biased on these issues. I had a talk with a friend of mine
last night and we talked about my bias and his bias. And we both started laughing at how on
opposite size of the coin we are. If you notice, if you're watching news and I watch the national
news, not much Fox and a little bit of CNN and a whole lot of the other news outlets,
the lead story is no longer what's happening in Iran and the war in the Middle East.
It now starts with the TSA lines on these broadcasts. And it was two hours, three hours,
and now it was reported last night that it can be up to a five hour wait to go through the TSA
lines. So what's going on with that? As I explained in the previous segment, there is no budget at this
point where Department of Homeland Security is not being funded. I see it is because that's
under a separate bill, but the TSA is not, which means TSA agents are not being paid. Second
month out, they have to work. And so they're doing is calling in sick. And now yes, some airports
that are 30% and today or tomorrow be 40% the calling rate in terms of the sick callings.
So a deal is on the table. Democrats are saying, I tell you what, let's just vote for TSA,
a standalone bill. Let's just vote for it and get TSA working and then we'll figure out the rest.
The president and Republicans who follow the president, which is all the Republicans are saying no.
The president says, I want the Save America Act bill passed as part of this.
And the argument is, wait a minute, Save America Act has nothing to do with the TSA.
And the president said that it is the most important thing we can do.
That we will not let a, I will not let a vote through until the crazy country destroying radical
left Democrats vote with the Republicans to pass the Save America Act bill. And then he said,
it's far more important than anything else we're doing in the Senate. And that includes
giving these same terrible people, the Dems, who are to blame for this mess, a $5 billion cut
in ice funding and even disguised something else unacceptable to me and the American people.
I talked about that before. Now this is a big reversal for a lot of Republicans with blocks,
similar proposals for the Democrats for weeks. And now they're going, even though they're still
following the president's orders and they literally it is the president's orders when it comes
to the Republican legislators. And now they're saying, you know what, this is, there's a shifting
political dynamic here. Longer these lines grow, the more pissed off the people are at us for not
doing something about TSA. And the Democrats are saying, hey, just just fun TSA and the president
is saying, nope. And what is the Save America Act? Well, this has to do with mail-in ballots
and ID to be shown when voting. And what does it have to do with the TSA lines and funding TSA?
Basically, absolutely nothing. A quote from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on the Senate floor
said Democrats are going to keep working in good faith, Donald Trump, or in good faith.
Donald Trump, meanwhile, is trying to sabotage negotiations, demanding that the talk stop
entirely until Congress passes the Save Act. A bill that has nothing, nothing repeats it again
to do with paying TSA workers and nothing to do with ending the shutdowns. And here the president
truly believes that the Save America Act, well, every act that he passes is the most important
thing the Senate could ever do. If you notice that, absolutely everything is the most important
thing we can do to save America. America will be destroyed if you not pass this bill.
Well, at some point the Republicans are, they have to run. The president is not going to run
again. I mean, he is immune. Any president is immune second term from anything because he's out
the door at the end of the term. Republican and Democratic Congress people have to run every two
years. And now they're going to be telling their constituents who have stood in line for five
hours at a TSA checkpoint at an airport and a whole lot of people fly saying the president is
right. Save the ID at the polls. And the mail-in ballot issue is far more important. It's the most
important thing that America can do right now. Yep. You go ahead and say that to a constituent and see
what happens on the vote. Now I may be wrong on this, but the way it's going and the way the
polls are swinging right now as if the vote, if the vote was right now for the legislator for
Congress, it would be a wipe out. Republicans would have their clock cleaned. And I think you're
going to see more and more of them because as this thing gets closer to the midterms, all of a sudden
you have Republicans that are looking at some very, very angry voters. And there it's going to be
harder for them to say the president is right. He knows best for the country no matter what he says
we're there. They're going to be parroting Mike Johnson speaker saying the president knows right
no matter what you say. It's the president who is making the right choices for the country.
I don't know how long that's going to last. Now for those of us that are not particularly fans of
the president. And that includes me as you know, I got to tell you, there are fans of the president
now that are going to be looking going, well, I don't know. I don't know. Okay, I want to get a little
bit local. Another episode of the vote was rigged. We've been robbed. Here's a little difference here.
It's the Democrats who are saying this. And it had to do with tonight's debate that is no longer
going to be debated. It was supposed to be at USC. And it was a gubernatorial debate,
people running for governor. And there was a little bit of criticism about the way that
SC was running this. And so they canceled. The debate was co-sponsored by KBC. And here's what happened.
Every gubernatorial candidate of color was excluded.
Only white folks were allowed in. Now, there was methodology used in determining who was going to
be at the diocese at the debate. And the university defended the methodology,
used to determine who's going to be invited to participate. But because of the controversy,
because of the attacks, they canceled no more debate tonight. We recognize that concerns about
the selection criteria for tomorrow's. This was yesterday. Gubernatorial's debate has created a
significant distraction for the from the issues that matter to voters. I think that's true,
by the way. Usually distraction. I've been a distraction is crap all out of me. But this one
is true because had the debate happened tonight, the issue would have been why are white people
excluded? Forget about the issues. So SC and KBC have been unable to reach an agreement on
expanding the number of candidates at the debate. And as a result, USC has made the difficult
decision to cancel the debate and look for other opportunities to educate voters on the candidates
and issues. And here's the bottom line. USC has faced increasing criticism and has been
growing and growing in well from, for example, from four prominent candidates of color who were
excluded. And the candidates and their supporters are arguing because you are racist,
because only white people are going to the debate. Therefore, by definition, you are racist.
Uh, even former U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Basera, who was not invited,
he celebrated SC's decision to cancel. We fought, we won. We stood up against an unfair candidate
debate, set up that prematurely chose winners and losers. He posted that last night.
And the decision came hours after Democratic legislative leaders called on voters to boycott the
debate. Uh, if the university did not invite, uh, those candidates who were excluded from participating,
uh, that is an interesting situation going on. And yet I want to reiterate, these are Democrats
saying this was rigged, that the selection process, in this case, the debate among the candidates
was rigged because only white people were included in this debate. No people of color.
So here's why were they excluded? I mean, SC, they just decided to exclude, uh, non, uh, non-whites,
white people of color. Well, there's a methodology that SC uses that is used all over the country
and it combines polling numbers and the money you have in the campaign campaign war chest. That's
it. If you make those numbers, you're on the debate stage. If you don't make those numbers,
you're off the debate stage. Uh, now does that mean people of color are included somehow in the
formula? Absolutely not. So you've got leading candidates who are saying, hey, what do I look like
shop liver? Those are the Jews, by the way. Uh, you've got Basera who is saying, I mean,
I was the attorney general of California. Give me a break. Well, he didn't make the cut with polling
numbers and with, uh, combined with the money that was in a political war chest. And so SC defended
itself saying, hey guys, the question to them, maybe monks and, uh, Merrill will pass
this. Why in the most Hispanic populist state in the union? Are they're polling and coffers so low?
And I don't know the answer. And that is a good question. But that's not up to SC to determine why
that's what they should be asked. How come you're scoring so low? And that's a good question.
That is a very, very, that's a very good question. Okay. And these caucuses are saying, basically,
we don't care. Uh, if we are leading candidates leading in terms of we have, uh, we have more attention
than others. Well, uh, you know, and have the polls and, you know, the polling numbers and you don't
have, and it's not just one poll they look at. They average out a bunch of polls. So now I'm going to
give you, uh, what happens in England? This is, I love this. Members of parliament, Congress people,
uh, have four year terms and every four years, they have to go to their districts and they have
to pitch themselves again. And there are these town meetings that they have to go to
because the votes take place along those lines. Now, if you, you want to YouTube, this,
this is hilarious. Margaret Thatcher, when she was prime minister of Great Britain,
well, she's a member of parliament. That's how they, uh, the population, uh, the electorate doesn't
vote the prime minister, the party votes the prime minister, all of people do his vote for the members
of parliament. Uh, and then they vote the prime minister in. So, uh, in terms of elections,
it's just another, uh, member of parliament. Like in terms of election, the Speaker of the House
is just a member of, uh, Congress. So in England, the law is that anybody who wants to run against,
uh, the incumbent has to be included. All you have to do is sign up and pay the fee.
Look at one of the events that Margaret Thatcher was at. Now, keep in mind, she's a prime minister
of Great Britain. And there you are on the stage. Margaret Thatcher, a couple of leading candidates,
a guy dressed as Abraham Lincoln, a guy dressed as the Tin Man and Wizard of Oz. All of them are up
there. Now, is, see, that's what, uh, that we should do is allow anybody and everybody. Do you
remember when we had the special election after tossing out Great Davis and Arnold Schwarzenegger
one, they had 200 applicants that were running for mayor. I interviewed Gary Coleman,
who, and I interviewed that porn star. Uh, what's her face? Mary Carey or Carrie Mary or whatever
the whole her name was. She was running. And uh, Webster was running Gary Goldman, except he
Coleman, but he had to be on some phone books because he's like two foot two. And uh, it was,
he's very short. And he had to look up to the microphone because we just couldn't get the microphone
low enough. And uh, it was ridiculous. It was, yeah, you're just insane. So there's the methodology.
So, uh, you know, the answer is too bad. Get better polling numbers and get more money in your
war chest. And there's shoots a few other issues involved, but those are the big ones.
All right, uh, coming up, uh, it's rich tomorrow. And it's our tech segment. This is KFI AM640.
