Dallas Godder is back with the Eagles, but will AJ Brown be his teammate this year?
Or will another team finally get a trade done for him?
We discuss this and more on today's episode of Lockdown Fantasy Football.
You are Lockdown Fantasy, your daily NFL fantasy podcast, part of the Lockdown Podcast
Network, your team every day.
Welcome to Lockdown Fantasy Football, part of the Lockdown Podcast Network.
Now the number one sports podcasting network.
I am one of your co-host, Michelle Majuka, and when I'm not doing this, I'm a researcher
and fantasy analyst with NFL Network.
And I'm your other co-host, Vinnie Iyer, when I'm not doing this, I'm writing about NFL
fantasy embedding for sporting news dot com.
Today's episode is brought to you by Fandall.
Fandall's giving you a way to turn that energy into even bigger potential wins with a college
basketball parlay profit boost had the fandall dot com to get started.
All right.
We've hit on the latest NFL news today surrounding fantasy football from 2026.
The big one being that Dallas gotter is back with the Eagles and that AJ Brown is still
with the Philadelphia Eagles.
He has not been traded yet.
The latest rumors are that the Rams backed out of being interested in trading for AJ
Brown.
So, you know, less teams possibly interested, but there's still a good amount of teams
out there at the top one being the Patriots.
Let's start with Dallas gotter here.
His cost right now is super, super low.
Maybe it goes up now that he got signed, but tight and 17 in consensus ranking C was
the tight and five last season, but most of that was fueled by his 11 touchdowns, which
he's never really been a big touchdown score in his career.
So, what are your thoughts on gotter?
Should he be ranked inside the top 10 or is tight and 17 fair for him?
Yeah, we need to actually see what happens with AJ Brown.
Let's see if the target structuring of the Eagles changes with Devon to Smith and then gotter
figuring to be busier here, but they could also make a big move for a wider receiver.
The draft you figure would be a draft pick with which they would replenish wide receiver.
They can actually do that at their current spot now later in the first round.
So, we have to see how that happens here.
It's a new offense.
We know they were really dependent on gotter to be the finisher on the red zone when they
weren't running it there would say, come on, Barclay, or jailed hurts.
Again, he wasn't a big touchdown score until the last year, really carried his value.
Right now on the board, he can be found around tight and 17.
There's just a lot of healthy guys coming back with upside this kind of surprise.
The Eagles took their time and they restructured things and they said, okay, we'll bring you
back.
It's not a one year deal.
So, I'm still not sure they're totally hot on having gotter back, but he probably didn't
have that much of a market.
He's an aging tight end with some limitations.
And really he hasn't shown anything in other offense or other teams.
So, when it was all said and done, I don't think he had much of a choice.
I mean, the tight end market has been kind of quiet.
David and Joku is still trying to find a place here.
So when you look at that, I mean, I don't think you can go to Dallas, got it feeling confident
that he's going to duplicate anything close to his tight end one finish even on the top
12.
This year again, I fully expect the Eagles to invest a little bit more in their passing
game.
They did lose Johan that's in their lose.
I shouldn't say it loosely.
They probably didn't have any plans to keep him, but they did bring back Grand Calcutta
at tight end.
So that could be just a minor position right now.
And then they still look at the wide receivers of the biggest source in the Dowfield passing
game for jail hurts.
So, we'll see how it goes right now.
But the bottom line is Asia Brown, I always think about this, what team needs Asia Brown
a lot.
The Eagles to do.
So I don't quite get why they want to move them other than, okay, his attitude, it can
be a problem.
But you're still creating a big void on this team.
If you don't keep him and the other thing is the Rams will get into why the Patriots
on top sooner.
But the one thing with the Rams is they wanted to also move to Vite Adams at the same
time.
It's extremely hard to do that multiple layer deal where you're trying to move Adams and
up with A.J. Brown and Puka Nakua.
So that's why I think you're lining up to see the Patriots here and I think Eagles signed
Dallas guard because again, there was not much else in the end to make sure that at least
had two guys that could trust for hurts.
Yeah, I was shocked to hear that they're looking to trade Devonte Adams.
It makes more sense to me now though that they were interested in a Jay Brown because I was
like having A.J. Brown and Puka and Devonte Adams, it just seems like it could be a bit too
many resources going to your wide receiver room.
It looks like they're going to stick with Adams.
They're going to let Brown go elsewhere if he goes anywhere at all.
And we brought up that we would love to see the Patriots trade for him, right?
Like it makes too much sense.
And then citing Romeo dobs and free agencies should not be a reason that they're not still
trying to get a top tier wide receiver in the building, whether that be with first round
draft pick or trading for A.J. Brown or another wide receiver.
But I think A.J. Brown would fit very well in this offense.
He'd be back with like fravel, his old head coach for the Titans.
And Drake may can get him the ball and he needs a true alpha wide receiver one.
And again, that's not Romeo dobs.
So the one that makes the most sense by far is the Patriots.
And if the, if the Eagles are willing to trade away A.J. Brown for just that first
round pick, what 31st overall pick, I think the Patriots should be jumping on that immediately.
Yeah, the Patriots from Adams, we weren't inspired by that signing, especially because
Stefan Diggs is out the door.
So basically a replacement for Diggs.
They need to upgrade them.
We're not just looking to replace what was left, but what we can do to make Drake man this
passing you about Romeo dobs is the number two would be fantastic.
If A.J. Brown was on the other side, much like Devon to Smith playing off A.J.
Brown now, that would be a much better scenario for dobs as he is a number two receiver.
So look, A.J. Brown has been a tough guy to move.
And I don't know if every team is willing to give up that first round pick for him.
No, the Eagles are really wanting to move him ideally.
If they can't just kind of get on the same page with them, I think they'll start liking the offense.
So I think you'll open things up more.
And I think he'll be pleased with that.
So right now, I just wanted to say that the Eagles, like the Patriots would be one thing,
but you still have dobs, you still have some running game there.
But I know what I'm going to get with him on the Eagles.
His quarterback, the way the scheme is happening here, it's a little bit different though
when they could want to move on.
But again, the Patriots, if he goes to Patriots, Michelle, he's definitely a top 12 receiver.
You'll definitely be the most targeted outside guy in the team.
And then you look at the Eagles, if he stays there, I think he's a 12 to 15 receiver.
So wherever he goes, the talent says that A.J. Brown is going to be highly coveted.
Yeah, absolutely.
Now, Brandon Ayuk is still a San Francisco 49er.
I think a lot of people are shocked by that.
We all expected him to be released at the start of the new year last week.
That did not happen.
It looks like they might still be holding out hope that they could get a trade for him.
Or maybe they're just being petty and saying,
we don't want to let you go walk right now.
They really don't have much to lose.
He's on like the non-injured, because he didn't report to practice or to the team at all.
So they don't really owe him anything right now.
They're not hurting them against the roster.
So I guess technically they could just keep pulling on to him.
I don't know where this turns to.
But it does feel like if he ever is released or traded,
which I doubt anyone's willing to pay that contract,
it looks like the commanders would be the one team that would be interested in getting him.
I think the biggest question mark right now is, are you ready to go, right?
Like he's now taken a whole year off.
And the report say he didn't do his rehab correctly.
No, that's those are just rumors.
I do not know that to be correct or whatever,
but that's what's coming out now.
So is any team really willing to put a risk on him?
Like, I think he's going to have to take a minimal deal and really prove himself
before getting a big deal again.
But it does feel like the commanders are the one spot that he would actually land in
if he does play in 2026.
Yeah, there's been a little bit of an exchange between these two teams in terms of free agents.
You've had Devo Samuel crossover from San Francisco,
Washington, he had Brian Robinson Jr.
Go the other way and running back.
And it makes sense because I think at a Peter's the GM of the commander's
really respects Kyle Shanahan, his former mentor slash boss.
So yeah, you kind of have to evaluate it as you go along here because it's a tough situation.
And I want to just kind of see where the commanders are still going here.
They're still making some offensive moves.
So I you keep they wait too long.
I don't know if the commanders are going to be all that interested.
Yeah, we'll see what happens with I you, but right now, big question marks.
Now that we talked about the commanders and they in how they've been adding pieces,
a lot of pieces in the backfield, which we'll talk about those two running backs that added.
They also added Chica Conco.
I don't think that's really going to change much for them on the offense.
And then we got a couple small signings at wide receiver for the giants.
Does that mean they will no longer look for wide receiver in the draft?
Vinnie and I do not think so we'll get to all of that and more right after quick break.
College basketball is nonstop big plays tight spreads momentum swings every single night

All right, let's talk about this commanders backfield.
They've been adding running backs.
They add reshot white, right?
So it was looking like Bill Croskey merit.
He was going to be the top guy heading into the draft for the commanders,
the top of their depth, I should say, heading into the straft.
And we are hoping for dear Maya love, you know, to the commanders.
It's the seventh overall pick.
But now they add reshot white and not only that, they also adds room for it.
Are those two important enough good enough for the team to look away from drafting love in the first round?
I don't think so.
I mean, reshot white is a good complimentary back.
I don't know if I would put a full workload on him.
I don't think they would just go in with that combination.
They chose to bring back Jeremy with Nichols.
Chris Rodriguez is now a Jaguar.
So a little bit of mix up there.
I don't think you'll see much of Bill anymore.
Jacob Croskey merit.
So that pretty much kills his value with white is a very accomplished back.
He's done what he needs to do and had good production in Tampa when called upon to have a bigger role.
And he kind of got in there again.
The Tom Brady era where they were looking for a receiving back.
He kind of evolved into a little bit more than that.
But still, but he Irving was the preferred guy when both were healthy.
So when I look at this situation, I don't necessarily see a lead back to the commanders yet.
They were trying to clear stuff.
I see a guy that Austin Eccler is ancient at this point.
He's worn down.
I see a guy stepping up in the receiving role that you had.
And I think Jerome Ford is just a guy maybe replacing what Chris Rodriguez was.
But that leaves a big void here for that lead back still.
So the commanders have to decide that they want to go after a past rush.
I think they get a lot of spending in free agency with Kevin on Jason and also a Duffie OA to say they might not go after that.
And Russia was Rubin Bane or David Bailey in that first round.
And then OK, Jeremy love is in the sweet spot for where they're picking in the top 10.
So I really think it's all lining up toward that.
I could be totally wrong, but I do not want to see the commanders going with this backfield.
I've already seen this before with different guys at 300 monster.
Maybe get a fourth guy there.
I don't want to see it.
I want to see one back that's going to help and the guy that Jay Daniels can lean on and play off of consistently and hope that's sure of my loss.
Yeah, and maybe this is a setup.
So if they they're sitting there and they love the top five receiver on the board and he's still there at seven till for all day,
they're not forced to take a running back, right?
Which you can appreciate not to have to be forced to take any position in the draft to set yourself up that way.
Because right now, you know, if I use not going to be ready to go this year and they can't get them or whatever, your wide receiver room is looking pretty thin after Terry McLaren.
So I do think maybe they could be eyeing wide receiver there as well.
Now the giants we mentioned have added a couple wide receivers.
They added Darnell Mooney after the felkins moved on from him and then Kelvin Austin coming from the Steelers.
He was a free agent this year.
I like is this going to keep them from selecting a wide receiver in the first round to go with Malik neighbors.
I don't know.
I think it's good signings.
Like you need wide receiver depth, right?
And they lost Wando Robinson.
Darius Slayton is he's fine.
Like he can make a big plays, but he's been in Malik now for a while and he's just kind of just a guy, right?
So I think you had to add these different weapons.
I don't think this keeps them at all from taking a wide receiver in the first round.
However, it doesn't force them to have to take one early in the first or second round.
It doesn't force them to then have to rely on that guy to be a really important key focus in this offense in year one.
So I don't mind these moves and I also don't think it changes too much about the draft strategy.
Yeah, we're all trying to figure this out and there were rumors that they might take Jeremiah love.
But now things have shifted where it gives them flexibility because Malik neighbors looks like he's on the mend.
We're talking about Cam's cataboo and his recovery here coming up.
But I want to thought, okay, well, they go off with skill positions.
They did keep germane aluminum or their right tackle.
They did keep Evan Neil, which is a surprise.
I thought they would let him go.
He's like, they're inside player now to go with the pretty decent offensive line.
They're shuffling some things inside and all that.
So everyone thought they could go after tackle that spot.
Francis Maligua of Miami would be the target.
But now their rumors are coming full circle to carnival tape at number eight,
which is the field stretching wide receiver.
They did not get you know, it appears that attempt to get him because the colds resigned him and kept him off the market.
So again, they lost one now Robinson part of that.
I don't know if they're totally sold on going forward.
Terry Slayton, he's been around for a while.
In that case, you would look at Mooney and Austin as being kind of replacement bodies for those guys in different roles, right?
Mooney can do a lot of things.
Slayton can big playguide times can work outside and be effective.
And then Calvin Austin is a smaller kind of short area receiver that you'd work in the middle of field much like you would with Robinson,
except with a lot less experience and effectiveness so far in the NFL.
So I think it all ends up to say, hey, they still need to go get that field stretching weapon.
You also can't assume Blake neighbors are going to be at the same level or speed that he was might take him a little while to get to that maybe mid season.
So I think you really get an impact wide receiver.
You got Jackson Dart, invest well with him.
So again, what this tells me is they feel good about neighbors want that complimentary receiver.
But it also says, hey, we're not going to go after running back.
They didn't really think about that and free agency either.
So that's probably good news for Camp Scataboo as well.
Yeah, I mean, and the latest news on Camp Scataboo is he's on track to be 100% for OTAs.
He had that really nasty ankle fracture.
And but if he's going to be already 100% by OTAs, that would be huge and
our relief and stress about drafting Camp Scataboo in this next year's fantasy draft.
Now right now he's sitting at running back 21, which could feel aggressive.
If you don't feel like he's going to be 100% healthy or you might take time to recover,
you know, get fully back to his old playing style.
And also the way he plays definitely brings on more risk for injury in the long haul.
And then there still have kind of a packed backfield with Devon single Terry and Tyrone Tracy.
And again, could a team or could they take a running back early in the draft possibly.
Last year at Camp Scataboo was the running back 10 on average scoring and half PPR.
And that was as a rookie.
That was getting limited time there to begin with.
So his running back 21 cost, I think it's super, super fair.
He's going after guys like Travion Henderson and Breeze Hall and Bucky Irving and Travis
ETN. Like I'm okay with him going after some of those guys.
But I also think at the same time outside of you being worried about injuries,
it doesn't really make a ton of sense to be taking Travion Henderson or Bucky Irving over
Camp Scataboo. Yeah, he does so much for this offense. He has a good chemistry when he's on the
field with Jetson Dart. I think they'll look at his skill set. It's pretty versatile. He can stay
on field on third downs as well. So he can catch some passes, be effective that way.
So yeah, I think the draft would tell us a lot. They might be just happy with the status quo,
which would say that that's really good news for Scataboo. He's on the way to Mending,
here Tyrone Tracy has seen him more as a complimentary back. So again, yeah, very aggressive.
I think part of his name and the excitement that it generates here is why he might be ranked
that high. But I think he could end up being very deserving should again, these reports and him
being on track to be 100% from his ankle injury are true. So that's good to know. And now I think
we may have been tipped off to another guy's recovery here with Seattle. Look, I thought Zach
Charving may might need some time to play, but they're very optimistic about his knee injury,
about his rehab and all that coming up. So they didn't resign Kenneth Walker.
They didn't go move under shot light or any of these other guys that were available, even a
tiny little year. So they were very patient. And then also they add Emanuel Wilson,
who was a pretty good backup to Josh Jacobs in Green Bay. So they have him right now.
Their depth chart with Sharmin and the shelf with no Walker reads like this. Emanuel Wilson first
George Holani, who they've been talking up as like a versatile guy. Is this the back that we're
sitting on or this is really say that Zach Charving is on his way back and he could be a really
good pick with now without Walker. I think we have to wait for the draft and see if they
kind of forced in a pick in the second round or third round or something like that. But
I cannot see Zach Charving a back probably to start at the season. Like I don't know how he's not
put on the public. And this is the first four weeks. It just happened way too late. It happened in
middle of January. Like you cannot expect a guy to come back from ACL to pair that quickly,
especially at running back position. We're cutting is so necessary. So and we've also never seen
Zach Charving. They have to be able to lead back for a full year. So there's risk of that too
that you can't hold up. I think them annual Wilson signing is a solid backup signing. They have
care makers there too. Now that dude just keeps living and going to team team. But I don't know.
I think they still have to make moves. And I think they could still be a team that trades for
Albuquerque mayor or if Albuquerque mayor has cut signs Albuquerque mayor there as well. But
we have some a little bit of quarterback news. Justin Fields gets traded on Monday morning to
the chiefs. What does that mean about Patrick Mahomes? Health will get into that to close out
today, Chef. All right. This episode of Lockdown Fantasy football is brought to you by
TurboTax. And look, it is an important time of the year. We got to get ready filing dates are
coming up here soon. April is just around the corner. It's tax time. But for a lot of us,

All right. It is time to close the show here as we look at the latest news and notes you need to
know for fantasy football and the free agency is going. It's not ending and never really ends.
And Justin Fields was the latest quarterback move, but not in a situation where we're going to
think about him in fantasy at all. Maybe early in the season, but he has traded to the chief. So
they'd only give up a 2027 six-round pick for him. So really not a lot. The jets were going to
dump them as soon as they traded for you know Smith. You know this was going to happen. And now
you have a new backup. It's a revolving door. You've gone from Chad Hennie who retired to Carson
Wentz to Garter Rinshu. And now Justin Fields is your new number two in Kansas City. Show, what is
this really mean other than, look, he's maybe in the best office he's ever been, but not starting.
Yeah. I mean, and he was okay for this year. He wasn't like a dumpster fire quarterback
for that when he was with a decent organization. Now he didn't have a ton of weapons either with
the chiefs. I don't know if it's necessarily an upgrade at weapons at wide receiver. We have
to see what happens with Rishi Rice off the field. And if you'll be playing this year, he got Travis
Kelsey playing his hundredth year in the league. And then a bunch of kind of disappointing wide
receivers elsewhere. Now Kenneth Walker, I think in the backfield helps. They could be a really good
duo if Fields does have to start the season. But I think this is the chief saying, okay,
who do we want to start a few games? Start the year if my homes isn't ready. And if that's the case,
I do think Fields is going to be considered as a last, you know, draft pick type of guy in fantasy
leagues and say, I'm going to play him until my home says back. And that's for teams that completely
punted the position. They're helping for fire, right? To start the year. And then you kind of have
to have that backup plan. Or let's say you take Patrick Mahomes in fantasy drafts, then you might
have to take just a field with your last pick, right? To make sure you have that quarterback there.
But I could see Fields putting up some fantasy production. And with Andy Reed, by far the most
creative play collar, he's going to ever play with the best coach and getting it done in this office.
Now I don't know if they'll win games with just some fields, but in terms of fantasy production,
I could see him putting up some numbers as long as he's starting for the Chiefs.
Yeah, it's a good situation for him as the Chiefs are going to transition to leading a little bit
more in the running game with Kenneth Walker. That'd be good for Fields. They're going to be back as
well. So there'll be some more running concepts that are factored in versus the passing concepts we
had with Matt Nagy. So all those things are going to add up here to make it a good developmental
situation. Keep in mind that Justin Field is only 27. So now he gets this coaching staff.
Look, we've seen it just happen with Malik Willis and Sam Darnold and even Victor Mayfield.
You can't rebound and still get an opportunity in this league. So might as well go sit behind
or play for Mahomes, get the tutelage of Andy Reed and be enemy, get better in this league.
And then you have a shot to maybe start somewhere if you can get down your passing game and all that.
But he gives them different ways to win obviously, right? So they can get mobile. They can run some
of their old RPO stuff with him. They can kind of transition should something happen to Mahomes.
It feels as a guy that you could play and you'd feel like something could happen there if you
play him for three to four or five games if needed. Well, I mean, actually you probably are
comfortable with maybe one game. You're not looking for too much there or it's going to fall apart.
So I think fields they can build the offense around kind of his strengths to have on hand here,
should something happen to Mahomes. But I think you're right. Mahomes is drafting a lot of leagues.
I think a lot of people are going to jump on fields too, especially with early and we're not a
100% sure Mahomes they're ready for week one because I think he's a plug and play dude because
he's got the cheat code. He's got still potentially decent weapons if it all works out here.
So that's enough for me and it's a good enough team and a good enough coaching staff where I think
he can produce the numbers. So very interesting there. Now last thing we'll talk about is another
similar running quarterback could be on the move. This one is also interesting because we're
down on Jordan Love and coming off season they've had. But Anthony Richardson could be on the move
also as a backup, not to Cleveland, but to Green Bay. And that could be something interesting as well
because they just turned around Malik Willis as a pick. So maybe it happens again with Richardson.
Would you prefer that or do you want to see him in spot where you get a competing starting job right
away? I'm going to be completely honest. I do not care. I don't think Anthony Richardson is going
to have like he just doesn't look like he's going to have an opportunity to start anywhere.
There's teams that desperately need a quarterback like Steelers. Well, I guess we've got to see
about Aaron Rodgers, the Browns, like the Raiders. There there seems that that's what need a guy
and they're not even calling. It doesn't seem like they're interested. So if he goes to the packer
shirt, maybe he can come in for a couple games if Jordan Love misses and he can perform in
Matt LaFloor's offense and he looks good and a team decides to trade for him. Like maybe
that happens or you know if he's a free agent next year again, maybe he gets a deal like Malik Willis
did and gets a real shot. But for now in 2026 for fantasy wise, he's completely off my radar.
Yeah, I think there's a few ways this could go. It could go the Malik Willis route and they could
resurrect him as a high draft pick and use his mobility well or it could go the other way,
which is in between is the Justin Fields way where he gets a few opportunities here to start and
then the lesser of all these would be the trade lance way or basically stuck as it back up
perpetually. Now Lance is going back to the chargers so they like him. There's reserve, but that's it.
So Lance didn't really get a starting shot once the 49ers thing was done. The trade to the Cowboys
and all that. So fantasy buzz phrase, there's a wide range of outcome. Still ahead for Anthony Richardson.
He's a young quarterback, but I don't know if there's much else for Shale as you mentioned,
he still needs to be developed well. He's raw and we're seeing all those issues where
probably under the league a little bit too early and now he's trying to get back on track and
maybe always being playing catch up in the sleep. Yep. Now that will be it for today's episode.
