So you were scrolling on Marketplace. And there it was. The bike you've been searching for. You sent a message and it turned out the seller was super chatty. Kind of funny and an avid cyclist. The next thing you know, you're in a cycling crew. Well, a community cycling group. The thing about Facebook, you might find more than what you're looking for. From a browse to a bike ride, this summer find more on Facebook. At some point in your life, you will have witnessed the aura of a man that is unbothered by what is going on around him. Someone that maybe a high pressure situation pops up. Everyone else loses their head. And they manage to sit there calm and collected. Think clearly and direct the people around them. That is the number one skill a man can master to have complete control over his life. Because in doing that, becoming unbothered by the things that go on around you
means you're living in your inner world. It means you've mastered yourself and your emotions. It allows you to think and act clearly. Now, I have a fight camp starting tomorrow. Training twice a day. I come in up to a pro fight in the third of December. I lost my last fight because I was bothered by everything. Because I was bothered by the way people were talking around me. I was training. I was bothered by the training. I was getting. I was bothered by the pain. I was bothered by the comments online. And it led me to a place of inner turmoil where I couldn't focus and I couldn't lock in correctly. And I had added excess importance to the event because everything bothered me. And I started to become hysterical. I started to become super angry and enraged by the smallest things because I was stressed. So the key focus of this fight camp, the one I'm taking on now and which I've been training for the last three weeks, running up to this fight camp is to be unbothered or at least act unbothered by everything around me. And that's because acting unbothered basically is being unbothered.
You only feel bad about things because you acted in a way you didn't like. After a situation, the thing passes. But what you're left with was your reaction. I've done this many times. The thing passes and it's no longer a big deal. But what makes you feel bad after the fact was the fact that you acted bothered, that you gave it emotions. That's what really drains you. So this video is about how do you manage your emotions and how do you learn to act as if nothing bothered you. The first key to this is mastering emotional detachment. Every man should master emotional detachment. The ability to not be affected emotionally by the things that are going on around you. So that when something bad happens you can still keep thinking clearly so you don't overreact. So you don't ruin situations. That's what a man should master. But how do you do this? Number one is something I call the pause method. Anything triggers you. You get that spark of anger, that spark of rage, where something's annoyed you and you want to pop off. And you wait three seconds.
You count down for three seconds in your head. This is normally the time it takes for you to reassess what the situation is and calmly move forwards. Anything that is pulling you emotionally is draining you, it's tiring you out. Anyone who can get a rise out of you emotionally is winning. When someone speaks bad about you and you then get angry, that's the poison that doesn't affect them. You're drinking poison that doesn't affect them. Someone badmouts you. You want to get angry, you want to go back at them, you want to hurt them. But really all that's doing is hurting you. This doesn't mean to be a pushover. It means to remain calm. If someone insults you to your face and that person is not threatening is obviously very unhappy with their own life. And you don't know them or even care about them. You can smile in their face and walk off. This actually really annoys people that are designed to wind people up. Sometimes you can call them energy vampires. They come into your life and they feed off your energy.
They've learned through their lives that if they get a rise out of people it gives them some feeling of status. And these people are incredibly destructive when they're in your circle. The way to deal with them and these people exist is to pause, smile, disengage. Don't give them any contact, don't give them any time. What you do is rob them of the status they wanted to have over you and it makes them incredibly annoyed. Number two in mastering emotional detachment is the stoic mindset reframe. You have to completely get rid of victimhood. Victimhood is all emotions. Why did this thing happen to me? It has no purpose in solving the problem and instead focuses on the emotions that the problem has caused. But there is no such thing as problems or good things or bad things. It is the mind that makes them so. So the stoic reframe is to go from why did this happen to me? What can I learn from this?
What is this special lesson I need to learn now in my journey through this small piece of pain but not suffering, crucial difference? Pain is inevitable in life and should be run towards. Suffering is optional, comes from your mind and in a turmoil. When a bad situation happens, you ask what am I meant to learn from this situation? How do I learn something here so that it doesn't affect me further down the line? That is what you have asked for. You have asked to become the best version of yourself to have accolades, achievements, strength and courage. What soldier, what warrior, what fighter would be able to call themselves courageous without a time of problems, a time of trouble, some challenges to overcome. You are getting exactly what you ask for. You ask to be the best, the best are challenged and they are pushed to prove they are the best. So don't feel bad about receiving a lesson. Never feel bad about receiving a lesson. Take it as a lesson. And use that to craft yourself because what happens is that lesson comes in and if you are a victim it destroys you.
You don't grow. If you are not a victim, you are never a victim and you see it as a lesson, you learn and grow from it. The same thing comes to happen again but this time you know the lesson. So it does not happen and you reach an elevated state of success. That's mastery in the mind. That is a key and fundamental point of becoming a successful man. Number three. Star Wars, the Mandalorian and Grogu is now streaming on Disney+. What are you waiting for? Hop on. The must-see galactic adventure comes home on Disney+. This is the way. Our only chance is to work together. I like this game. Always wear your seatbelt. Star Wars, the Mandalorian and Grogu now streaming on Disney+. Wait PG-13. Class it up with Crocs. You know back to school is coming in fast. So why wait to find your new faith footwear? Step into a local Crocs store and step into your new look.
Try it. Style it. Make it yours. Because the right pair doesn't just show up. It shows off. First day fits, handled. Walk out ready for whatever's next. Visit your nearest Crocs store today. This episode is brought to you by Facebook. So you were scrolling on Marketplace. And there it was. The bike you've been searching for. You sent a message and it turned out the seller was super chatty. Kind of funny and an avid cyclist. The next thing you know, you're in a cycling crew. Well a community cycling group. The thing about Facebook, you might find more than what you're looking for. From a browse to a bike ride, this summer find more on Facebook. It's daily exposure to stress. If you can bring in small little stresses into your life, maybe fight boxing, sparring, cold showers, ice bath, training harder than you wanted to, working that extra hour, you learn to stay calm under pressure.
And you have to train your mind so you go into the ice bath. And instead of freaking out, you train yourself each day to remain instantly calm when that cold water hits you. You practice your breathing to train yourself to stay calm, to stay light, to stay friendly and flowy when you are faced with hard sparring. As you add in these stresses, your tolerance increases, meaning that you can make it to a higher level. Because if you want to work in at the top, you have to learn to handle stress. Don't eradicate stress from your life. Become a stronger man that can deal with it. Number two, the art of being totally unbothered is cultivate indifference to the unimportant. You must know what to let go of and what to focus on. Over the last three years of building my business, changing my life, I've built a very selective focus. I now only give my time and energy to things that affect me, my business and my overall growth. And one of the tricks I use to do this is I have a five-year plan. And I think to myself, something happens in my life, let's say for example, a bank account gets closed down and you have to call the bank and go through a load of paper
to get it opened up, some of your money is held. A lot of people can get stressed by that, have a money held that they don't know if they'll get back. But what I do is I ask myself, in the grand scheme of things in five years time, all that matter. No. Well that person, cutting in front of me in traffic matter in five years time, no. Well what that comment said online matter to me in five years time, my five-year goal, absolutely not, your goal is to get rid of anything that does not affect you in five years instantly from taking up mental space. It is your choice on whether or not to be bothered. Something comes up in your life, you don't get a job application and you decide to be sad for two weeks, an old melon collie. And really, is that going to matter in five years? Will you even remember it? No. So you're wasting your life, you're wasting your energy, you're fundamental time. You've got limited amounts of energy that you can use on a daily basis. You must make sure that energy is used to skyrocket you to success. That's the only valuable use of your energy in time. So anything that takes that away, something on the news. Some gossip, some drama. All pendulums designed to suck you in and you have to ignore them.
You have to get rid of them and you have to focus only on the inputs that lead to your rise. Another hack for cultivating indifference is an energy audit on a Sunday evening, which as it happens it is right now, Sunday evening. On a Sunday evening sit down and you might be very tired from the week I am. And right down on your Sunday, what drained you this week of energy and what gave you energy? Was it a certain type of food you felt you didn't feel good after? Was it a person that you spent time with that took away some of your aspiration, your goals, your dreams? Do an energy audit and strictly remove the things that steal your energy. Find out what was stole my energy this week and what gave me energy. Oh, when I saw my friend Brian, he actually gave me loads of energy and motivated me and taught me some new stuff that he'd learnt this week and then I went and worked to my business. That's a good friend. That's the kind of person you should spend time with. Or I went and saw my friend Liam and all he could do was complain about his problems with his girlfriend that he's been having for years. And afterwards I just felt drained and emotional and I just wasn't able to work.
That was an energy drain that you shouldn't have had. You have to protect your time, become selectively selfish and build the reality that will take you to the next level. Number three, in order to become a maverick, in order to become somebody that just walks calmly through battle and through fire, you have to be someone that does not seek approval from others because often being that strong person is not going to be the thing that everyone else admires. It's going to be the unusual thing. And the real strong soul, the person that can really one day be a mime, is the person that the only approval they need is from themselves. And so you have to stop seeking the approval of others. And the way you do this is you find ways to approve of yourself through your daily discipline. So when you wake up in the morning and you get up at bed on time and you don't snooze the alarm, you've just won. You've just won one battle of the day and you go to the mirror in the bathroom and you say, I'm proud of myself. I woke up on time, I'm a man of discipline, I'm a man of my word. And you look yourself in the eye and you feel that recognition for who you are as a man.
You then continue throughout your day stacking up wins and rewarding yourself mentally, not looking for the praise from others, but looking for the praise from yourself for knowing that you've stuck to your word, which will build your confidence over time. Number four, you must learn to handle criticism with logic, not emotion. And this means when somebody criticises you, you have to think logically rather than getting offended. Just like we said at the start, you have to detach yourself from offense, you have to detach yourself from the emotions of situations and you have to take information in and logically sort it. So number one, somebody gives you criticism. I didn't like it when you did this. Your brain logically thinks, do I value this person? Is this person trying to get the best out of me? Or are they trying to harm me? Are they trying to bring me down a level? Even though it's not true. And you have to wait those three seconds and you have to categorize this person. Do I want a life like this? Is what they're saying valid? Is what they're saying true?
Why does what they're saying offend me? Normally if it really offends you, it's because it is true. And if it's coming in a way that's reasonable from somebody else, you take time, you listen and you inquire, okay, that's interesting. But what makes you think that about? So someone might turn to you and go, Jack, I think you're really selfish lately. You don't think enough about other people. And instead of going right back, just like most people do and losing your energy and starting an argument with, I'm not selfish, fuck you, blah blah blah. You think for a second, you let go of the emotion, you smile, and you go, that's interesting. Star Wars The Mandalorian and Grogu is now streaming on Disney Plus. What are you waiting for? Hop on. The must-see galactic adventure comes home on Disney Plus. This is the way. Our only chance is to work together. I like this game. And always wear your seatbelt. Star Wars The Mandalorian and Grogu Now streaming on Disney Plus. Wait, PG-13.
Class it up with Crocs. You know back to school is coming in fast. So why wait to find your new-fade footwear? Step into a local Crocs store and step into your new look. Try it. Style it. Make it yours. Because the right pair doesn't just show up. It shows off. First day fits. Handled. Well, a community cycling group. The thing about Facebook, you might find more than what you're looking for. From a browse to a bike ride, this summer find more on Facebook. What makes you say that? Get an explanation. Find out.
Listen to their point. Is that true? And then you can go, I understand where you're coming from and a couple of those points. And I'll take them on and I think you'll try and change a couple of those things. I appreciate you bringing that up with me. You've just turned somebody who was trying to hate on you or trying to criticize you into someone that can really quite, they can start to respect you and love you because you take the criticism so well. Or it might be a point where it's totally false and untrue. You say, look, I understand why you see it that way or where you're coming from. But I'll tell you why I just don't think it's correct. And then let's just, the problem with most people when they debate, they try and explain their point, is they get so irrationally angry or irrationally emotional rather than just having a conversation. That's normally where most arguments, divorces or business relationship issues. That's where they stem from. One or both parties' ability to not handle their emotions and think logically and speak with each other. If you can learn to do that, not only will you become incredibly much,
you'll also be less stressed and less bothered. You see things logically rather than emotionally and deal with them that an essential part of handling criticism with logic and not emotion is having an inner compass. A set-dream desire, a person that you want to become and a set of rules that you live your life by. If you don't have these things, you can never really agree or disagree with someone. If you do have an emotional compass, a compass for your life, somewhere you aim to be, and a set of rules for yourself, you can tell someone exactly why you disagree with them. They might say, Jack, you're very selfish right now, to which you can say, well, the most important thing in my life for me right now is becoming the most successful version of myself. Or you have to understand this, if you want to become the most successful version of yourself to give back to other people, you have to spend a lot of time alone because it takes so much time and focus and energy. So I apologize if you're offended by me not spending enough time with you,
but I hope you can understand that it's because I have a really important goal for my becoming this best version of me. And that's going to mean saying no to a lot of things, even if it pisses some people off. You know that one of your rules is that you put yourself first, that you put your goal first. Now saying no to someone and any criticism they send back your way, you know it's unjustified and it low longer bothers you because you have that compass inside that guides you on the... And number five, my final tip on becoming unbothered is stay calm and move in silence. And I want to give you an insight into how the Spartans, they would use a reverse visualization technique. A lot of people visualize the best case scenario in a situation. Unfortunately, best case scenarios rarely happen. Although they do sometimes, it's more likely that you have to overcome some problems to get the result that you want. If you visualize the best case scenario happening on a continuous basis, you're essentially living through that moment.
And although it's more positive than visualizing yourself losing, what you should be visualizing and what I do for my fight is moving forwards now. One of the things I've implemented for my fight coming up is that you visualize the worst case scenario. You visualize everything going wrong and you visualize yourself. Your self still being calmed, unfazed and focused in the face of amber. Rather than picturing yourself as I didn't the last fight, I'm going to walk in, I'm going to knock him out and one round. I walked in, tried to knock him out and one round, it didn't happen. My visualization has now ended. What I visualize now is a 12 round war. My thighs are going to be 12 rounds, but you visualize a 12 round war where you cannot put him. But there is just a far tougher opponent than you ever could have imagined. But then you look at yourself and you see the determination, the grit and the fact that you won't. And you use everything you've got to stay in them. And you win at the end.
You win at the end with points, you win with that last round knockout for not giving up. You visualize the worst case scenario. You visualize bad things happening, stress, pressure. The worst of the worst happens. And then you visualize yourself calm, unaffected, cool, collect. That's how you start to teach how to remain calm under. And another thing you have to do is remain, it's a challenge for you. Remain silent for 90 days. And that doesn't mean you can't talk to anyone. That would be quite... What it means is you don't tell anyone else about your dreams for 90 days. You don't tell anyone about the progress you're making on your life for 90 days. You keep it to yourself. You reward yourself. You do not look for the words of encouragement from other people. When I wanted to change my life, every time I spoke about it, the magic went. I noticed that over time. I'd go and tell a family member or a friend. And then they'd have just a couple of normal concerns. They'd throw a couple of concerns about my way. Or why it might not be such a good idea. And I'd lose some of them. So over time I stopped talking about things.
I'll just go and do them and show them the result. And watch the surprise on their face. Wow, how did you do that? I've been working on it for a long time. And that makes you very... Most people are scared to do anything in their life. Because they have not mastered any of it. Because you're totally bothered by everyone and everything there. So you lose all of your... And you need the approval of other people to feel worthy. Because you have not mastered your... If you've sold both of those problems, you can do anything. Absolutely anything at all. You remain with unlimited energy. That's not taken by any... And you move and you act with... And you make progress on your own. So guys, it's been absolute pleasure. I hope you enjoyed this video. The Fight Series begins this week. Training camp tomorrow. Start in two times a day. We're filming it all. So you'll get a Sunday now. Sunday Fight Vlog. Again, which I know a lot of you've been looking forward to. And have a great week. Go smash it. Go and have a good one. And have a good one.
