Weather With Enthusiasm ! — Learning teamwork from the atmosphere. Machine-transcribed; use the interactive transcript above to jump the player to any line.
In Pierre-Kéavos, Pierre-Qaqdallid, that's chapter 4, Benzlomit, teaches Azehu Khacham, hallowing Michal Adom, who is wise one who learns from every person. Tonight we're going to stretch that a little further, we're going to learn something from the atmosphere itself, something amazing about teamwork. Take the driest air mass imaginable, sit it over the golf for a few days, and you'll get two points in the 70s. Golf's warm water could do that much, but it can't push you into the 80s, maybe a little bit, or 90s, maybe that happened once, because two-point can never exceed air temperature, and over open water, air temperature stays close to water temperature. A cornfield is different. The air over a cornfield could genuinely get hot, and that's the two-point climb higher there than it ever could over the golf. So they work as a team, neither one alone produces this kind of humidity. The golf by itself tops out in the 70s, sometimes 80s, and the corn belt by itself might only nudge a cold Canadian air mass
from the 30s and 40s into the 50s, two-point wise. But put the two together in the right order, air crosses the golf first. Then moves north and over the cornfields, you get Persian golf level humidity right here in the Midwest, and the chitish. The novel inside over here is this week is that it's happening in September, possibly aided by that lower sun angle reducing atmospheric mixing. There's a lesson in there for any team, professionally. Some organizations run fine as a collection of individuals each doing their own job. But some, like a hospice team, for example, genuinely need people working together, because no single piece can do it, the combination can do. A cornfield alone cannot produce this humidity, the golf alone can't either. Together, they do something neither could do on its own. Now to the next.
