Hi, I'm Johnny Erksen Tata, and let's be honest, nobody likes doing their taxes, and things weren't much different back in Jesus' time. Back then, Jews hated having to pay taxes to Caesar, and if you were a Jewish tax collector and employee of Caesar, everyone saw you as nothing but a traitor, a sinner, a liar, and a cheat. That is, everyone but Jesus. In Luke 5, Jesus approached Matthew the tax collector. He invited Matthew to leave his job and become a disciple. The tax collector left everything, and then, hosted a banquet for Jesus at his house. The Pharisees were disgusted, but Jesus saw beyond Matthew's past. He saw a disciple in the making. I don't know your past, but Jesus sees beyond all your transgressions. He sees you a disciple in the making. So today, partner with the Holy Spirit and helping to make that discipleship happen.
