Les Snead Pushes for Future Draft Picks Trade

0:00On April 1st, Los Angeles Rams' General Manager, List Sneed, just said he devoted yes on a rule change to let teams trade draft picks up to five years into the future. That's two more years than the current limit of three. The idea came from the Cleveland Browns, but got pulled before a full vote. Earlier this week on The Up and Adam Show, Sneed explained he wanted to hear all sides and spark some real talk on it. Rams coach Sean McBae, who's on the NFL Competition Committee, revealed they shot it down 11-0, calling it a 0% shot at passing. Sneed's no stranger to wheeling and dealing. He's traded first round picks in nine of the last ten drafts. That bold style earned him a spot rocking a t-shirt, saying F-Them picks at the Rams Super Bowl 56 Parade back in 2022. He wonders why the committee was so against it, saying there are plenty of safeguards to prevent wild trades. Sneed gets that the NFL's a traditional league, so radical changes face uphill battles. Still, he figures tossing it into the conversation, plants the seed. Maybe it'll grow over time.

1:06For now, picks from 2029 and 2030, stay off limits. Rams hold the number 13 spot in this month's draft, starting April 23rd, but don't bet on them keeping it. They've only used first rounders twice in the last decade, so expect Sneed to keep flipping picks as the team builds for the long game.
