Hey Kim, it's great to talk to you. Well thank you, what's going on? Ah, not much. I recently subscribed to your current email newsletter. I'm really enjoying that with my coffee in the morning, and that's why I'm calling you today, because you had a question in there. You said, have you ever used AI to calm down an emotional situation? And I was like, that's definitely me, because I got really riled up about something. So about a year ago, I was laid off and a friend, I'm unlinked in, she saw, I worked with her years and years ago, that I was open to work as they call it, which is just a nice way of saying, it's unemployed.

4:05But she remembered me and she was like, oh yeah, she told her manager about me, because we were working the same area, same skills. And she was like, oh he's really nice, and he's professionally smart. You should talk to him, because maybe we want to hire him someday. And so we got in touch, me and the hiring manager, and we had a nice conversation, got to know each other, hit it all. She was telling about the corporate culture there, and she said, something stood out to me, she said, there's no real jerks here. And it's good that your friend recommended you, because that way I know you're not a jerk, and I don't hire jerks, unlike most. Well, I'm not OK. OK. I mean, I even wouldn't say that. It's only rough to the jerks. That's true. The nine jerks are like great. I'm the nine jerks. Perfect. Yeah. And so I was like, OK, and we concluded the call. And I sent her up. Thank you, note, follow up, saying, you know, I would be to hear about the next steps in everything. And that was kind of like November of last year.

5:05But then a day or two went by, and then a week and more, and I didn't hear anything back. And so I'm like, OK, I'll try again. I'm going to email her, hey, I'm still enthusiastic. You know, about finding a fit for me in your company. I'm wondering, you know, I would look forward to hearing from you. A day goes by, a couple more days a week. So now I'm stewing about it, right? I'm like getting really upset and annoyed that we had this professional relationship going. And she never even gave me this courtesy of her reply. You know, so I'm like, I'm going to craft a zinger of an email and just put her on full blast. You know, and make her feel bad about ghosting me. You're becoming a jerk. That's kind of true. And so then I thought about that. And I was like, well, they say you should never burn a bridge. Right. That's true. You never trust me. We know that here. First hand in the last about 14 days. So I thought, let me get a second opinion here. So then I went to Groc. And then I put in my message that I had written very carefully

6:07to this hiring manager and I asked Groc, well, what do you think about this message? And do you want me to read you a little bit of it? I want to know how snarky it is. You think? OK, OK, read some. Normally, we don't like reading on the air, because we're going to let this go for Trevor. OK, I'll hit the high notes. We spoke months ago. I'm disappointed in the way you treated me after we spoke. We had a good rapport going. But you didn't reply to either of my emails. And you ghosted me like I was a stranger. You told me, I don't hire jerks. But the way you treated me by not even having the courtesy to send me a short reply demonstrated your own character. Oh, wow. Shock's fired. Did she call you up after that? But did the AI tell you don't send that? Don't be a dummy? Yeah. OK. Yes. Groc told me, it goes very much with the theme of the question. I said, oh, your message is correct and emotionally charged. Which might not land well with a hiring manager.

7:10That's my first part. Yeah. You told me, oh, you sound frustrated. And I get why, but people are busy. Just try again. It told me. You might. And so I did try again. And she did reply. And she was like, hey, yeah, it's great to hear from you. We might still have something. Let's keep in touch. And to give you the bottom line, it's a good thing that I checked with AI because now I work for the company. Oh, yes. Now, what are you going to do when you get into the office on Monday and your hiring manager listens to the Kim Commando show? Well, hopefully we've scrubbed enough to identify and mention that it doesn't become an issue. That's right. Teddy and Baltimore, Maryland? Teddy. Sounds like Maryland to me.
