Lindsay Clancy May NEVER Leave the Hospital

If the jury finds Lindsay Clancy not criminally responsible, she does not go home. Massachusetts law allows the state to commit her to a psychiatric facility — six months initially, renewable every year, no maximum sentence. Andrea Yates was found not guilty by reason of insanity in 2006. She is still committed twenty years later.
