Lisa, who is not a lawyer, represented herself through scores of court appearances and her case was published in the Connecticut Law Journal in 2021 and her live testimony contributed to the passage of "Jennifer's Law", one of the first U.S. laws to expand the legal definition of domestic violence to include "coercive control" which is financial or emotional abuse.
