During the early morning hours of June 30, 2002, a text was received from a 21-year-old Indigenous woman who was last seen getting into a vehicle with a young man she met earlier that evening. The text read, “come get me, they won’t let me leave”. Unfortunately, she was never found. Rumors swirled that she was killed by a group of people in a snuff film. The person that gave her a ride that fateful night has not provided answers and no one has been charged in relation to her disappearance.
