Tyson Gross, a 23-year-old center from Calgary, just signed with the team as a free agent after a breakout season at St. Cloud State University. On Monday, the National Collegiate Hockey Conference named him defensive forward of the year for the 2025-26 season. Gross put up impressive numbers, leading his Huskies with 41 points, including 23 assists and 18 goals. He tied for fourth in conference scoring and claimed the goal-scoring title in league play with 16 tallies. He also shown in face-offs, winning 59.3% and leading the nation with 464 wins. Fans in Calgary are buzzing about this local kid making good. Gross captain St. St. Cloud State and earned first team All-Star honors, plus runner-up for fourth of the year and a finalist nod for player of the year. His defensive play on the penalty kill and short-handed goals sealed the award.
