. . . . . . . . . Welcome everyone, this is Valve Needles and you're listening to LotuPlayer's News where we take a look at places in LotuPlayer's and here LotuPlayer's. And this week I'm joined by Cinders! Hello! And Cendswinda! Hello everybody! Hello there! And let's have a look at what we got today and I'm afraid we are going to be starting out
with some release notes. Oh well, okay, let's do it. Yeah right, let's get to the release notes and this is update 47.2 which was released on Thursday this last week on March 19th, 2026. And in here we have, it was release notes for update 47.2, Folly the Kings patch 2. The Lutinist inside the boat and Baskethavern is no longer T-Posing. Alright, that's good. They're probably also more comfortable now. Yeah, I'm hope so. DVDs have been fixed in the Spring Festival's Daily Rapper, a taste of spring. The map of Cleger, given to players at the start of a gardener's lament, no longer shares
cool down with the map to the Spring Festival. Nice. Oh, that's good. The appearance of the defidel banners used in the quest Springtimes colors and flower envy have been corrected, what was that all about? Well, earlier, they were perhaps advertising or declaring a war of the daffodils, I think. The war of the daffodils? Definitely a war like banner, yeah, the war of the daffodils. Now it's unclear if it was a war over daffodils, like who had the best daffodils, who should be able to plant daffodils, or if it was a war in a field of daffodils, or if perhaps the daffodils themselves were going to war, or maybe there were two factions, one that used a symbol of one type of daffodil and the other one that used a symbol of another type of daffodil? Right, right. But it would appear that whatever happened, the daffodils won.
The daffodils won, all right? So it must have been a war against between daffodils and rabbits, maybe? Maybe a war between daffodils and grass? I don't know. Okay. But daffodils are now victoriously displayed on the banners. Oh, okay, they're victorians. Battle symbols. It in replace to those red skirmish symbols that were on there before. All right. But it definitely looked like we were advertising, like the war of the daffodils was coming or commemorating, like, never forget the war of the daffodils was here, or something to that effect when we were planting the banners. Yes. Well, I am sure that we were really afraid of the counterattacks being made by the rabbits after each time a daffodil was planted. Okay, that would be a fun instance. It would be a really fun instance.
All right. Also, I don't want to fight as a daffodil though. You didn't want to fight as a daffodil. What weapons will a daffodil have? It's a good question. Now, I do remember... Paulin. Well, yes, you do have Paulin, yes, on that. I do remember no doctor who episode, which was center one of the plot points of this was during the part we era, where one of the plot points had to do with these daffodils. I think there were plastic daffodils that someone was distributing, and that they were being used as, and that they were actually weaponized, that the daffodils were actually weapons. Yeah, that's pretty fun. Yes. And I think that was, it's a very, very, was it the first auton episode, maybe, or something like... Maybe.
No, because I believe it was a later auton because I think the first one was spearheads in space, but I believe it was a Joe Grant episode that had one with the daffodils in it. All right. So anyway. Anyway, they're not displaying the symbols that the devs intended. Okay. Very well. Also, the appearance of the small daffodil celebration matters. Housing decoration has been updated to resolve some visual issues. It's probably the same ones. The same ones we were talking about there, yes. And T-Pokes and NPCs in various parts of the game have been fixed. I think so that the... That there is a skirmish NPC in the defense of the prancing pony that is still...
It's draw. It has been deposing lately in defense of the prancing pony. So there's still occasional ones in there. Maybe some time I could get around to writing a bug report on that if I see that continuing. Fair. Yes. And the appearance of the small daffodil celebration bound a housing decoration has been updated to resolve some visual issues. For these changes to take full effect, please unhook and re-hook the housing decoration. So if you have some were like daffodil banners in your house and you don't want them to be more like any longer, then remove them and put them back in and they should be fine. Yep, it'll now display the victor properly. Yes. And the instance quest for the folly of Nagaketi will now correctly update if a conquering of folly of Nagaketi quest has is used to skip bosses.
Okay. The challenges of the folly of Nagaketi weekly quest now requires you to kill each boss once on any tier instead of completing the instance quest three times. The advanced challenge for the folly of Nagaketi weekly quest now requires you to kill each boss once on tier three difficulty. The explorer of the folly of Nagaketi tiers one to three deeds now requires you to complete each boss on each respective tier. For daily quest, the daily rotating out-of-game quest attacking the blight now advances based off of any horn kills in that zone.
And the daily rotating quest terror of of knee shoe has has had the matron removed as a requirement. Okay, I am not too familiar with the rotating quest either. Are you familiar with the rotating quest? Nope. No, I'm not. All right. Now for Monster Play, fix the typo in the description of E-Var's corrupted staff. Okay. And for the warden, armor of the wound carpers free spear of fate skill can now be used as intended. When the special spear of fate skill is usable, there is now a visible effect for 10 seconds.
What is armor of the wound carvers? Is that I guess something related to the new raid or something? Maybe. And armor of the wound carvers for bonus now correctly states that the tier three hero spear of fate will cause spear of fate to remove your mastery skill cooldowns for a brief moment. And for the folly of Nagaketi, fix an issue where Barthories, the Gorge's caustic birth may target few eggs after a reset. For Mocorn, cascading bloons should no longer spawn on players after the encounter has ended. For the Legion of Larath, animated blood monsters now have a set spawns instead of reactively spawning based on the location of blood pools.
To help us out, this mechanic was changed to improve game performance issues. The Maktar, picking up the second mushroom of the same color as a mushroom you are currently holding, will now correctly cause the second mushroom to detonate immediately. Also, fix an issue where players could end up with the blight mastery in addition to blue or yellow spores. Also increase the health values of Maktar and the pootry recent on tier 2 and tier 3 by 10%. And that's it for the updates to 47.2. Well, one thing is not woohoo about it. And that is that the issue where we are only seeing one set of the missions for Otageem and Zajani, those two mission sets were supposed to be alternating between two sets.
As a result, we are getting the same 5 missions every day even though it was intended to alternate between them. I was hoping there would be a fix for that in here but there isn't. Now, I did send a bug report on this so maybe in the next update we can get it because right now it's been two weeks and it's still doing that. There is any fix to that, Pine Leaf. There is a fix to that? Yes, you only do the missions every other day. How is that a fix? Well, after you have no missions to do because you refuse to do them two days in a row. Yep, please, nicely.
Not quite an actual fix. That wasn't exactly what I meant. I mean, it does solve the problem of doing the same quest two days in a row. But it doesn't unlock the access to the other 5 that are supposed to be accessible. Yes. So it's always one half of the problem. One half of the problem. You go to Klaiger and do the missions over there. I'm sure there's not going to be any festivals being held there or anything like that that could make them place busy. No, clearly not. I mean, if there were you would be able to tell because the daffodils would probably be slightly warlike. I was attacked by daffodils. That's it for the release notes in there. And we also had an article that was posed by Imamo RPG but there was a link to it put in the forums in there.
That is a look at Rivendell housing. That's right, we are getting closer to it. I believe that the next casual stroll is supposed to be on April 1st, if I remember correctly, and that they will be showing the preview of the Rivendell housing. If I got the date for April 1st will be a win. Yeah, that would be the proper date. I think Imamo RPG says exclusive interview. The Lord of the Ring online is upcoming Rivendell housing. Aim to create a more cozy neighborhood experience. I believe it's supposed to be a smaller neighborhood than most of the others. Good reasons. I guess we'll get a better idea because since this is not an official item in here, obviously I'm not going to be reading this out. We can use something from the forums.
By the dev team, that's all right for me to do that. I think we'll be stepping on Imamo RPGs. Copyrights if I went around reading this. But so you can follow the link in our show notes though to see the full discussion on this matter. They do have a few screenshots of the new neighborhood. It looks kind of cool. It'll be interesting to actually be able to walk through it. Yes, and it probably won't be too long because I believe it will be getting to Barbara pretty soon. As soon as they are. Because I think they want this update to be out in time for the anniversary. That makes sense. So it's coming out by the end. That means it'll be something like mid-April then when they do the release, which means it will be probably entering into Barbara maybe next week. Yeah.
Does that mean I'm going to have to wait till Rivendell housing before I'm going to be able to do the rest of those missions? Hopefully they just need to change the little thing to get that working. Anyway, so they had this little interview there. And that means we could be looking forward to a new neighborhood soon and we could decide, are we going to spend the coins in order to go and get them? I don't know if either of you two are planning on getting at Rivendell House. It's going to depend on what it looks like. That is... I'm rather picky about it. Yeah, it's okay. If you don't like what it looks like. And if you don't like Elven architecture, you're going to have a problem with it. Yeah, I'm usually okay with the Elven architecture. It tends to be more like human architecture than I'm like it asks.
All right. And what would you sense? I'll probably get one because it would be nice to be able to pop into Rivendell regularly. I guess it would be an easy way to any of your characters to get the Rivendell. Right. And it looks like the entrance is pretty close to the skirmish camp and the stable master. It is. Which would be a really handy port to have. And because it's premium housing, I could use it every one minute. Yes. Rivendell, now very convenient for you. Yeah, I think it's probably the one speculation. But some of it will depend on how hard it is to actually get through the neighborhood. Like if there's a long path or something like that. You have five miles before you get to the exit. That did make fallacy weren't kind of obnoxious. All right. So it's been set up, but I probably will.
All right. Depending on the architecture, depending on the layout of the house relative to the exit to the neighborhood. And probably like if it has a cool view or something that might override convenience. Yes, of course. And of course, there's going to be the. Never any question about how much is it going to cost and how is that compared to your current stash of. Mythal coins. And it would be worth buying Mitchell points for you know all sorts of things like that. It anyway. Coming soon. Rivendell housing. So. So now let's go and see what's in. The store at the store. So what's in sale this week centers. On sale this week is spring savings special sales through March 26.
Can get 30% off of profession slot unlocks 40% off classes and races, including bundles. 50% off the quest pack core sales of Umbar and quest pack legacy. Also through March 26. Through March 26 and then the weekly coupon is for virtual solvent. With the coupon code essence of essence. Also to March 26 essence of essence. Yep. Okay. Universal solvent. Yes. Yes. Weird coupon code. All right. So. Here's the question. Do we have a reminiscing or do we have a new player question? We sort of decided to bundle those two up together and we will have some classic questions.
And these were questions that were posed by Sense Winter. I guess a few years ago. Do you remember how long ago that was? Uh, shortly after I started playing the game. Shortly after a few years ago. Yeah. More than a few years ago. So you said it had been 10 years since the document you were looking at had been edited. You were right. Yeah. So about 10 years ago then. So it has to be about 10 years ago. Because I'm pretty sure I wrote all the questions down like on one evening maybe two. All right. So these are some. So not only it. Not only are these classic questions. These are like from the brain of Sanswenda. And that's a pretty cool place. So. Okay. So you will catch her methodical ways of processing which is part of what makes it really fun. Because she doesn't miss things like she's very detail oriented.
So. I'm actually looking forward to hearing this. All right. So question number one. How do you add something like mail to your toolbar? Maybe we should also add and what is your toolbar as opposed to your quick slots? Yes. Yes. That is important distinction. And there is that the toolbar are all those circular buttons that are at the bottom that are under your quick slots. So your quick slots are where your skills go like if you're under all of your arrow shots are going to be in your quick slots. Probably. Yes. Well, if you're playing in your efficiently, you'll have to go find them again and put them back on. So the quick slots you can just hit like the number keys or control and number keys or all number keys to use. But the toolbars are the toolbars as like just the little icon buttons, right?
The little icon circles. Right. And you can click those to open up different things like mail or this instance finder. If you remember to reset it to the instance finder. I don't know if new characters come with that automatically anymore. What is this? I don't. At one point it got pulled off my toolbars, which I think is what led to this question. Yeah. The instance finder is still on the toolbars. I think as default. Yeah. It was. And then for a while it wasn't because I have a set of characters still who have an empty hole where it should be. Yeah. One of the things that I have trouble answering this particular question is the fact that the first thing I do after I create a character and I enter the world for the first time. I type in slash UI space layout space load space and then I'm up and then name of my standard layout so that I just dump whatever is in those buttons and replace it with what I like to have there.
So that is now how I handle this as well. However, I did just go back and check on one of my characters who is who was still missing their instance finder tool slot from whenever that update was years ago. Maybe a decade ago. Then I just never got around to actually reloading UI saves on those characters. And it turns out if you go to options. You can escape to get to the option to hit options. Then you go to UI settings and scroll down to toolbar slots and now there's a lot of things to scroll through the scroll all the way down to toolbar slots. And then I think that's about halfway down the down that particular pain. Yeah, there's a lot more to scroll through these days than there used to be. Unless I'm just really misremembering, but it seemed like there was a lot more.
Which would make sense with the UI changes that they've made. Anyway, then they have a list of them and it'll be like left toolbar slot one or something to that effect and the order there goes from left to right across your screen on the bottom. But it also goes top to bottom in the list so you can kind of count over to see which slot you want to change or you can just change all the slots as you go. And then when it goes to the other side of your quick slot bars, the names have it'll say like to write toolbar slot one or something to that effect. I don't remember the exact name, but you should be able to figure out which side it is because it does have the left or the right in the name. Yes. And then the numbers go from left to right across your screen. So you can kind of count over which circle you want to change.
Right. And you have a nice convenient combo box in there which you could select which item you want. So you have to use the drop down menu to put something in there so you can't put something that's not an option in the drop down menu into one of those slots. But if it is in the drop down menu, you can put it in there. Yes. And then it includes things like males, things like bags, things like instance finder. I saw a system settings are in there. Is one of the buttons you can push there. So there's lots of different things you can change it to. And it might be worth playing with if you want to change what your two layers are or want to consider changing it. Yeah. And said before, when I had that all nice and set up, I just created a UI layout and...
And I don't have to worry about taking your first layer. When you get a layout on a character that you really like how everything is laid out, you like where your keymins are. You like the tool slots. I don't think keymins are actually part of this. But you like where things are positioned on your screen. Type in the chat. It's that backslash, right? And then it's UI space layout, space save space. And then a name that you want to save it as. And then on any other character you load in, you can just type the same thing only with... Load instead of save. And it will put it back to... Like it will give you the same layout that you're used to. Yeah. On all characters. And it's fortunate that... You have to modify skills. Well, yeah, because you have to earn the skills as you go.
Yes. But it will... It'll put your map... Your little mini map in the same place. It'll put your chat window in the same place. It'll put your toolbar slots to the toolbar slots you want. Yeah. And it's... It's such a point that we have... I want things to be where they are, that every time I do a session play, I type that in so that I don't have to worry about the stuff being on the wrong slide. I have to find it. Yes. I do that too now. Now that you said that it was possible, I've been doing that. Yes. Yes. I even do that with a session play. But it will take a second. And then your whole screen feels so much better because it's what you're used to seeing. Right. He said, I think have the headache of session play is that everything's now in the wrong spot. Right. Right. So that's the... That's the first. Anything else about this particular question?
Good, it makes sense. It did make sense. I don't usually mess with mine, but I did have kindly shown me how to do it once, because I wanted some information more easily accessible. I just, for the life of me, can't think what it was that we were trying to make more accessible. There. I was like, oh, I just keep that on my toolbars. And I was like, how do I put that on my toolbars? And so he walked me through it. Nice. Oh, right. And then... Okay, question number two. That's a question number two for today. Are you ready? Right. How do you set up or filter your chat tabs? And what considerations went into those choices? Yeah, that's the... Well, it depends on the purpose of the gaming that I'm doing. The purpose of the gaming.
Because there are specific chat things that I filter differently if I'm doing, say, PVP, PVMP, as opposed to things that I would ordinarily filter. But almost all of my filters actually match San Swindas. Because when I was first starting, she was like, these are the ones I like. And I was like, sweet, that sounds great. And then I've never changed them. Oh, yeah. How do you do yours, Swind? It's the... You just made a brand new character. And everything is dumping into one chat window. What do you do? All right. Is he... I think that UI thing takes care of most of it, doesn't it? No. Or do I have...
Okay, no, no, okay. You'll still have... So your chat window, your default chat window, will have the general tab, the combat tab, and the... Yeah. What do they call it? The tell tab. You're right, because... Now that reminds me. That is the... Now you reminded me of the second thing I do in every session play. The first thing I do in every session play is that slash UI thing we were talking about earlier. The second thing I do in a session play is to... Is the right click on the main tab. And when the option's in there is the filter in there, and I go into the filter. And I filter out trade, LFF, world, sometimes maybe even regional on top of that. So the first thing I do is to filter out those four channels.
That is one of the first things that I do too. Otherwise, your whole thing will be filled with somebody arguing in world chat about something punctuated by somebody being like... 1 of 12 looking for whatever. Yeah. And when I make a new character, because I've made a lot of them, I usually immediately add three sometimes four new tabs to it. You can right click on the main general tab window and add chat tabs. And so I now add chat tabs. And then I immediately take one of those. And I name it world. And on that one, the only thing that I let filter into that is world chat looking for group and trade channel.
And then I immediately go back to the general channel and turn all of those off, because I don't want to see them all in my general tab. I wouldn't do that in the session play, but maybe a serious character I might do something like that. Right. I don't do that for a session play. In a session play, I just mute them. But on a character that I'm planning to keep around, there are going to be times that I'm going to want to see those. But it's not going to be most of the time. And so I will move that tab so that it's the tab that I have to scroll over to see. Because I keep my chat box so that I've got three tabs on the bottom visible, three tabs on the top visible, and then one just off to the side. And so my one just off to the side that I have to actually scroll over to see and click on is the world tab that has the world chats, because I don't. I want to be able to go back and see what was going on if somebody mentions it or if something comes up and I'm looking to see if there's a group going for something I want to run. But I don't want to see it all the time.
And then one of the tabs on the bottom that I can see, I name Social. And I let that one filter like all my social messages can go into that one. And I leave, unless it's a big festival, I leave emotes on as well in that one. So it has emotes, it has kin chat. I usually take officer chat just in case. That way I don't have to go back and do it again if I do become an officer. And you won't see anything in it if you're not an officer so it doesn't ever hurt to check that. Fellowship, raid, and instant messages. I just let all of that come into my social tab. Because then I can see in one place any of the conversations I'm trying to follow. And if I have a custom channel, I'll send it into that social tab too.
But then I make a raid dedicated tab that I usually call fellowship. And I put it right above the general tab. And that one only gets fellowship and raid notifications. It doesn't get anything else. Because you can write click and you can change which things filter into that. So it only gets fellowship and raid. So if I'm in a group like a raid, and I need to hear the instructions or see the instructions, I can click that tab and I don't have to worry about if my kin is discussing something or if people are falling around emoting or whatever. I can always see the latest instructions because that's all that goes into that tab. And next to that I have a kinship tab that only has the kinship and officer tags on it. And so if I'm just trying to follow what my kinship is doing and I don't really care about everything else that's going on, I'll be in that tab. And then next to that I have my instant messaging tab because I want to be able to see what's going on.
And then of course on the bottom I keep the general and the combat next to each other and then the next one over to the social and then the world is just off the screen. So that's why I set mine up now. And most of my time I spend on the social tab because, well, okay. If I'm just logging through and I'm not going to be on for very long, I'll probably stay on the general tab. And if I'm trying to see like what NPCs are saying in an instance or something, I'll stay on the general tab. But if I'm kind of trying to pay attention to the world around me while I'm playing and don't want to miss things, I can say hi or people waving or whatever I'll stay on the social tab and just kind of game with that one being the one that's up. So that's how I do my chat tabs now, which is probably slightly more complicated than it needs to be.
But also like having the option to just like if somebody's like, oh, I type that in this chat or whatever. And the other chats are moving too fast. I can just click to that tab and I can see just those messages. And I really appreciate that, especially if I've done something like walk through, walk past the prancing pony on a Saturday or something like that. And there's the concert going on. That will very quickly fill up the social tab with all the emotes. Yeah, that's my slightly more complicated answer now. Okay, I don't think I do anything that complex. I tend not to look at those channels all that. So I tend to lump the world stuff with the remote channel. I think I might sometimes throw into there again. I forget why sometimes do with the with the remote channel and the like because yeah, I get to get annoyed if a lot of moaks come through and I'm just trying to see.
What's going on? I can't read. Oh, wait, it's scrolled off. Right. And if I'm in like an extended thing like weather top or whatever, I just turn the emotes off entirely on the social one because it's not helpful. It just goes way too fast. Yeah. All right, senders, do you do anything special? No, I have the slightly less complex version of what Sans does because she knew I would get really irritated if I had to do that much. So I run with about five tabs. Now that used to be six, but mine are not filtered. Like I have my instant message tab. I have my general tab. I have my regular stuff. I filter LFF. I filter world chat. I filter trade. But other than that, I usually keep regional open.
But I would I would have to go back and look because I like the chatter and I don't mind scrolling to stay on top of it. So I do tend to keep some things open. So I don't I don't really mess with the stuff as much because most of the time I'm doing audio stuff with people and I can hear just fine. Right. And I don't I don't use it in the same way. Yeah, I suppose when I came up with my setup, I was mostly not audio. Like not voice chats. Yeah. When I was doing stuff with my kin. I'd be in voice chats like with the academy, but then back on land while I wasn't in voice chat most of the time. And like my kin experience really did start being in sans windows kid. And since we're sisters, we were usually sitting on the couch next to each other.
So it was like, I could just look at her screen. If I needed to get caught up on what was going on. So I had a lot of convenience there. And then, you know, hang out with you guys. And Sans was like, I think it's out of my friends. And so then it was. Terry and Piley think he'll about be in a key and you know, and so I mean. Voice chat just kind of naturally happened there for me, which was helpful. Okay. No, I hope that answers the questions. And they're in that it's certainly a different perspective on it because I'm not too sure we would have answered the question the same way 10 years ago. When I originally asked the question, I was getting so frustrated that people would be like. Like, didn't you see this kin message asking this or didn't you see those raid notifications that I gave you or like.
Well, I gave you the instruction. I like sent you the instructions that I'm like, where? And like trying to figure out like how this person was on pop of like all of these messages without making their chat screen. Like their whole screen. And so I came up with a way that worked for me so that I could see relatively quickly what I needed to see and type into the right place without having to constantly be changing what I was doing. But yeah, I don't know if that setup is actually technically necessary for what most of what I do now. It's probably not. Well, anyway, that's it for this week's question. And I suspect that in the week coming up ahead, we will be going through some more of these classic questions and having another look at them.
So let's end into our week in gaming and centers. What were you up to? I was not up to a lot. But I did get some stuff done in ESO. I have my Evan heart pack character. She's now up to level 50 CP 160. So she's got she's like at her cap level and can now actually work on getting her gear and having it have some longevity. So that is something I started working on today. Yeah, because she hit CP our level 50 CP 160 today. This morning and back. So I did that. I did patch low true, but I haven't played low Joe yet this week. And that's more because it's harder to start and like it's easy to start, but it's harder for me to stop because I get going and don't want to quit.
And I needed to be able to stop at different points throughout the day this week. So that was kind of my week in gaming. Sans, how was yours? My week was good. I celebrated spring and helped either commemorate or advertise the War of the Daffodils and Klaiger with Quarindus. And that was a lot of fun. I also finished destroying all of the dark inquiries in ESO and got the achievement for it with Sunroos and Pine Leaf and Christopher. Yay! And that was pretty awesome. And we only died once to PvP groups that came through because that's what we were taking out of Dolmen. But we still got credit for the Dolmen even though they finished the boss fight. So that was pretty cool. And because we don't have to taste the Dolmen all the way around until I got back to that one. And I created a character in San Haven to try the game because it looked like every kind of similar to Stardew Alley.
And I thought that would be pretty cool. And there's a lot more to it than I was expecting when I started it. So I played like all of one day and part of a second day. And I appreciate that I could save an exit when I needed to. And I'm intrigued by the skill lines and not at all sure how to go about optimizing it, which is kind of disconcerting. So we'll see. I might like give up and start looking at ways to optimize it based on like player guides soon to decide if I really want to do this. Or I might just see what happens if I don't know how to optimize it and I just play. I don't know. Or I might just run out of time. All of those are still possibilities, but it's interesting. How would you describe San Haven? Well, it has skill trees where you can like assign skill points for each of your different types of skills.
So like you're still gaining skills in like farming and mining and they have one called exploring that's kind of like foraging. It seems like in combat. And so like you're still gaining experience in the different skill lines like you do in starting a valley. But then you get skill points that you can put into different things. So like I put one into something to make me go faster and exploring because that seemed fun. Right. We are all floored by this. Yeah, I know how two points and that one actually to go faster. Anyway, it's interesting that because it looks like you can kind of build out a somewhat individualized. Great tree skill tree in each of the skills, which is pretty cool.
And doing things like chopping wood or rocks doesn't appear to take any energy, which is pretty nice. But that could be because your two stats that you're working with are health and mana. And doing things like going faster uses mana. Or like for weapons that give me a choice of a sword or crossbow. And there's a little bit hard to choose, but I took the crossbow. But both of them felt good. You could do like a jump attack with the, with the, not the bow with the sword that felt pretty good. But I haven't actually tried it in combat except against training. So there's that. But with my combat points, I was able to unlock a spell for a fireball, which would be a combat spell. So I'm curious about trying that too.
Yeah, you don't know. There's like some magical spell throwing type stuff you can do. Yeah, planted some stuff. I got some partial hearts with some people. And it's interesting. I don't feel like I have a really good way to characterize it yet, but it looks. It looks like a cross between some different types of games. With some farming aspects. So we'll see what happens. Okay. How was your week finally? All right. It's the beginning of the week. Well, Magical Monday. We were getting a tornado warning. And of course, we were having thunderstorm, you know. You could imagine what the weather would have been like if, if you're getting tornado warnings and the like in there.
So I thought, okay. I think it's going to be pretty bad. So maybe I better just shut down my computer and wait until the storm is over. You know, it sounded like a logical thing to do. My computer decided it didn't want to come back up afterwards. Okay. No computer. So I. It sounds like it is time for me to pull out that. That top I. Got a couple of years ago and bring this out and set this up finally. I had tried to set it up before, but. Lotto would not install properly on there. So I sort of say, okay, I better wait to do this later. And unfortunately, I got around never to doing it. Well, finally on Monday, I got around to doing it because I didn't have much choice on the matter. So I downloaded the. If I went back up there.
So what I had on to there and found out that. This is one of those times where I am very happy that. The bulk of my. Documents folder. It was in the cloud using whatever that tool that. And so all this stuff that in any other circumstance would have been completely impossible to replace. And I would have been. Knowing out my hair and probably been screaming for a week or maybe a month about all this stuff that I lost. It just bought back it. That's on the. So now I did. See, the thing that I lost was a directory, which I intentionally did not have on the cloud there because. We're talking about several gigabytes stuff that I was not throwing gigabyte size videos onto the cloud.
And especially since I'm actually uploading those up to YouTube anyway so that. They're there. They're saved on YouTube, but I did have a video that I had recorded. But was never rendered that was saving for. To be posted on Monday on there, which. Okay, that one got lost in there. So. So I did had to rerecord that video on there. But other than that, most of the stuff that was really important was in there. I mean. I couldn't let go for example had all the options that I had. Were all loaded up fine when I finally got to because what I had to. What I did is I attempted to. Retry my low tro building there that at first that didn't work. So I said, okay, fine. There have been troubles with the steam plant. So I decided, okay, let me just. Reinstall the.
Non steam version in there. And that seemed to be running fine except for the fact that. I could not record anything. OBS did not like. The non steam version. And that was not really a shock to me. Because. Boomer when it record either on there. So so the non steam version was acting like, whoa, and not being able to record anything on there. So I downloaded DDO. See, does DDO work? So I've downloaded DDO and. DDO worked fine on steam. Okay, fine. Everything is perfect on there. Good. So. I decided to completely remove my first attempt at downloading the steam version of low tro in there. And reload it from scratch. On the steam side. Low tro in there. And that worked. Whether it was because I had the regular one already up there or for some other reason I don't know.
But that worked fine. So now I have low tro running on there. I installed ESO. And it's been slowly adding games on to there on. Because fortunately I had installed steam already on there. So I had steam already as a baseline for them. So because of between steam and having the one drive from windows on there between those two things. And it went a lot more smoothly in getting this stuff over than I was anticipating on. So with all that said, what did I actually do in gaming as a result of this? Well, on my warden. I did run the new instances, the three instances that were on there. So I ran the one player version of those in there. I discovered that the one player and two player versions of those instances are identical.
I guess they decided, well, if people run missions as either one player or two player, then we'll do the same thing for instances. I guess that's their liking on it. And the trouble is that a lot of those instances are tuned for two players. And my warden was hard pressed to get to two of those. I tried running the... Let's see, we had three instances in there. There were the whaling holes, the one with the bandits and the... Here we go. Okay, we had the... All right, the treasure caves. The treasure caves? I needed two tries to get past boss one. And I barely survived that second try. And then the second one is... I don't know what your ward's going on there, but it looks like it must be some DPS rate...
Race, where I get killed before I can kill even one of the three mobs that are in there. And maybe there's some secret to doing it or something like this. But to me, it looked like, well, if you can't get rid of any one of those three, it's impossible to get rid of any one of those three, then... I'd try that. What root is that? You can't set up a kill order if none of them can get killed. So I had... Free? Yeah, so I did not get past the treasure caves. I gave up on that one and probably... Maybe I'll have to have two with two. Because I did do some tests on there and verified that... Everything in there is identical between the one player version and the two player version. I would have thought that at least... That since you have a separate selector for one and two players, that they would at least give a... Maybe a stronger nerf to... To them in the...
In the one player mode, perhaps, or something like that. But I could not get by it on there. So I gave up on that instance. Then in the fallen palace, pretty much the same thing happened to me. I got past the first boss, but could not get past the second boss. And finally, I said, okay, I do this complete. And so I did go to the third one, the wailing hold. And that one I did manage to complete. That was a lot easier than the other two. So I don't know why... No, the one two players were also identical on that one. So... I'm not too sure what to do about it because I would think that... Expecting someone, because it looks like it's tuned for two players... Even if you're doing the solo version, it's tuned for two players.
So it's like... So yes, absolutely. Not going to have any trouble. Maybe sometime I could do them with senders or you. And we might be able to do something. But for the time being, I don't think I'll be doing those instances because... Or at least not the first two of them. I mean, the wailing hold I've seen to be able to do. And... And this is quite the fact that the utugi and the wailing hold, they are listed as being elite masters. So I would look at those elite masters as I'm going to get slaughtered in this artite. No, they're pretty nerfed elite masters in there. So I was actually able to get past them in there. So I think... So I do find that the wailing hold is doable,
at least on my warden in there. And that's what I was doing on each... Now, I was doing this on a warden in red line. And it could be that maybe in the other two I could survive a little bit longer in... For war and blue line, but if the second boss really is a DPS race, that I am losing... If I'm losing it with a red line warden, then I'm going to lose it even worse with a blue line warden, because blue line wardens don't have good DPS. I mean, that's the entire point is that they survive. But in a DPS race scenario... You hit a deadline sometimes. Yeah, so... That's what I was like in there. So I tried to run them, but it didn't go all that too well. I did those... Get back to resuming Mizati's storyline. That had to take a little break of it while I was trying to get my computer all reset up and all that stuff.
And that looks like I'm finally getting back into that. Also... Because I've got this new computer, I was trying it out under certain circumstances and seeing how it works. So when I was playing ESO, for example, I was comparing how things work in the various towns and all this stuff. Because with my old computer, whenever I would go into a major area, let's say, near the way rest, undaunted enclave, my system would take one to two minutes in order to load in the NPCs. And now I go into there and there's barely a blip going into those zones in there. So the performance graphics wise on the new system is a lot better.
I said it to ultra high graphics, which is something that I think my old system was at a customized moderate maybe. I think at the minimum one, where you were able to see your picture instead of some icon in your character portrait. So I think that was either moderate or that was just simply... It was either high or moderate. I can't remember what it was. Because I know that the low settings, you don't see your character portrait if you're in the lower settings. So that's much better. So the performance is a lot better, which means that the tornado probably did me a favor in there. And forcing me to go back to this and finally actually going and getting things to work in there. And because of that,
I was reminded that there was a game that I bought about a year ago that was Tales of the Shire. And when Tales of the Shire came out, I could not run it on my system. My system could not run the game. And I think I did look at the specs in there saying, well, I will try it anyway. How bad is it going to be? And I said, okay, fair enough. The specs in there didn't make it rather obvious that was unlikely to run on my system. And that was quite true. So it does run looks like on my new system. So I did play through the early parts of that. And that only started that yesterday. So I haven't had much time actually to get too far to the storyline. So it's running on that. And I also decided to play Slade the Spire 2, which just came out in early access on there. How was that?
It seemed to be working pretty well. And I was rather surprised that on my first run, because I was able to actually get through all three acts in there. Now, of course, I had it on the starter settings. So therefore, all this up. But this means that I've learned enough about deck building. Since I did try Slade Spire 1 a couple of times, but I don't think I ever got past Act 2 in Slade Spire 1 in there. But it looks like Slade Spire 2 plays a little bit better than Slade Spire 1 in there. And I think they changed mouse a little bit or anything like this. Now, of course, if I go and tried to play in Ascension 20, I think I don't think it will allow me to, because I've never even beaten Ascension 2. You know, I'm going up in Ascension yet. But Ascension are what they call the, I guess, equipment to tiers in Lotro.
So yes, I'm not going... So I'm sure that if I tried to play in Ascension 20, of course, I'll get my teeth kicked in into their tool to learn how to play better. But it looks like that, at least the starter level. And I get an idea of how the game works. I guess it's probably the best way of putting in there so that I could win it on the easier settings. So I'll probably be trying that over the next couple of weeks in order to see how that goes, to see whether I'll continue to play it or not. He's, I have played some similar games to it. So I've never stuck to any of them, though, for any long period of time, so we'll see. Because, of course, state-spire is the original in that particular category, meaning the rogue-like deck-builder-type category. I think that was the first one I don't know if there was, or any other before that. If there were, I think they were probably obscure.
Yeah. So if it's rogue-like, does that mean that it's going to be like celebrating your death and expecting it? Is that what it is? Or is it more, like, random... Well, it's truly curious. Okay, okay. In... How is it, like, rogue? Okay, okay. Rogue Light is probably the better word. I think what they're able to they called rogue. You know, that term is a... It's not procedurally generated in... As I said, it's a rogue-like deck-builder. And there's more of an emphasis on the deck-builder. The deck-builders are vastly different than, like, exploring. Right. So what you do is that you progress along a path. And this is an interwoven path or anything like this. And so... You make about... Maybe about a dozen stops along the way on along this path. And there are several branches. And the part of the strategy, I guess, of it is choosing an optimal path in order to get what you need
so that you can become more powerful. You'll be facing encounters in there. And the deck-building aspect goes when you do your various encounters in there. You'll be running the deck that you have at the time in there. And you want to reward us a new card that you add to your deck. And as you go along the path, some of them will be battles. But some of them might be shops where you could buy new items or you could destroy items that you don't want anymore or anything like this. Whenever you win a battle, you start to pick up relics. I think you pick up relics whenever you beat an elite. So you have to face the elite. So you have to do some of the elite fights. In fact, I think that might be my problem the first time I played it. I didn't understand how important it was to make sure you face those elite opponents. Because if you don't face them enough, you don't get enough relics in order to be strong enough in order to face the bosses. Interesting. Yeah, so therefore you pick up relics.
You have your deck that you have, but your deck you modify it either based on what you get for your rewards at the end of a fight or things that you buy in the shops along the way as you travel down the path. Nice. So that's what I mean with it. And what's interesting was Slade Spire. Slade Spire has actually converted into a board game a couple of years back. So it's one of the top, so it's one of the few things that's one of the top video games and one of the top board games at the same time. Nice. And one of the things that added in the board game version that did exist in the Slade Spire 1 was co-op. Well, one of the things they did is Slade Spire 2. One thing they did add was to put in the bouncing that it was necessary from the ground up. So they already have multiplayer supported in there because they decided I guess they're going to redo the engine or they better put it co-op in there because that's the first thing everybody's going to be asking for anyway.
Makes sense. All right. So anyway. So I was trying out Slade Spire 1. This is some tales that are sharp. But most of it was getting less stuff re-installed and making sure that Lotto, DDO, and ESO were all working properly. And of course making sure that I could record things and render the videos and stuff like that. It was fun, funny. OBS trying to say, OK, now where do I get my new copy of the OBS? It turned out that OBS is on Steam now. So once I learned that, that became easy. And that was my week early in gaming and things like that. And that was my week in gaming for this week. Nice.
