Welcome to Logos Rima'a with God 7 Reverend Dr. Joseph Bowel being head pastor of Harvest
Japanese National Commissary and now to today's message.
Let's take our confession from Joshua 1 verse 8. This book of the law shall not
depart out of my mouth but I shall meditate in it day and night and I may
observe to do according to all that is written in it. But then I will make my way
prosperous and then I will have good success. Amen God bless you.
The theme for this abandoned life conference and IP first number one is I will
pray again. I will pray again. Amen.
Let's go to first Kings. Let's pick it up from verse 41 to 46 where the text of
the theme for this abandoned life conference can be picked up from talking about prayer
Hallelujah. There's 41, first Kings 18, 41 to 46. Then Elijah said to Ehab,
go get something to eat and drink. For there is the sound of abundance of
3, 42. So Ehab went up to eat and drink and Elijah went up to the top of
Carmel. Then he bowed down on the ground and put his face between his knees and
said to his seven, go up now, look toward the sea. So he went up and looked and
said there is nothing and seven times he said go and came. Then it came to
pause the seven times that he said there is a club, a small as a month's hand
rising out of the sea. So he said go up. Set Ehab, prepare your
chariot and go down before the rain stops you. Now it happened in the meantime
another sky became black with clouds and wheat and there was a heavy rain so he
have rode up with and went to Jesuit. Then the hand of the Lord came upon
Elijah and he gathered up his lungs and ran ahead of Ehab to the entrance of
Jesuit. Amen. Now can we come to James 5? Let's pick it up from 13 to 8.
Like you always see, the Bible is his own commentary. Hallelujah. Amen.
The Bible is his own commentary and let's listen to that also James. That's
a comment on what we just read. Hallelujah. But before then he's picking it up
from 13 because James was generally just giving an exotation about the need to
pray. Hallelujah. Amen. And so he tells us some of the areas that we can pray and
some of the amazing things that can happen when we commit ourselves to prayer.
So number one in 13 say that is anyone among you suffering? Anyone going
to try in times? Anyone going to try in season? Going through
bad black cities? He says what? Let him pray. Hallelujah.
Tell you somebody and say let us pray. And then tell you what I'm saying.
I will pray again. Hallelujah. Amen. And then the next point is very interesting
isn't it? That's why we always say that prayer and praise. Pray and praise.
It's usually good to get a heart of the New Year. We saw it's about porn and
violence in a Philippian Jingle. At midnight the Bible says that
Hallelujah. Instead of pitting themselves the Bible says that they decided to
praise and to pray. That's something amazing. Hallelujah.
So he said is anyone cheerful? Let him sing some. Hallelujah. Amen.
Amen. 10 to somebody and say are you cheerful? Oh my God. Somebody,
somebody. Somebody ask for this IP IP. After that, you are not going back
and pick up that you know, mobile wall face and mobile wall spirit. Hallelujah.
10 to somebody you smile again. Amen. Because he says that all the problems
that we are going to that every time you face you can't afford to smile.
You can't afford to be cheerful. He says we are going to pray about them.
Thank you. Somebody say what? What? You never know who you'll be ministering to
water. Hallelujah. Amen. So he said is anyone cheerful? Let him sing
sounds. Hallelujah. You must have your foundations right? So you can pray again.
Say a big amen. 14. What else? He said is anyone among you sick? Let him
call for the elders of the church and let them pray for him.
Annoying him with oil in the name of the Lord. Who pray for the sick? Say amen.
Hallelujah. Amen. We are talking about sick people. Hallelujah.
Really, really sick. Amen. Hallelujah. Amen.
I'll resent what I wanted to say. Amen. That's 15. He said in the prayer of
faith, who said the sick and the Lord who raised him up. And I like this one.
If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. So he's telling us that some
of the sickness is some of the things that we are going through. Hallelujah.
It's as a result of sin in our lives. Amen. Look at the next verse from
especially those of us who always have problems with people. And when people
hurt you, you can't forgive. Confess your trespasses to one another. That's
what it is. Everything goes against God. And God is the one. He's the one.
He's the habitat. He's the one that we go to when we are doing confessions.
But this verse once is telling you that it means that we're talking about
interpersonal disagreements. Interpersonal disagreements. And he's saying that
confess your trespasses to one another and pray for one another that you may be
guilty. On forgiveness, bitterness, quarrels, unnecessary quarrels.
Hallelujah. Amen. For some of us that is wrong, our problem that is wrong.
The reason why we are not cheerful believers, the reason why we are always
downhearted and downcasts. Hallelujah. And our faith is something.
Why are not cast out all my soul? Because you're always cut. Why are
not cast out all my soul? And even though the samis says they rejoice,
you can't rejoice. Because all that he's saying, all that he's
saying, bitterness and anger and quarrels, they have a way of clogging
your prayer channels. Hallelujah. It's a big hindrance to effective prayer.
So it does do that so that you can be healed. Then we can now come to the
be part that effective prayer of a righteous man avails much.
Hallelujah. Then verse 17, he says, now he comes to he say that like
a man was a man with a nature like ours. And he prayed endlessly that he
would not reign. And he did not reign on the land for three years and six
months. That is what we read in this now commenting on it. That was an ordinary
man like us. Hallelujah. He says, was a man with like passions like
us. And he prayed endlessly that it would not reign. And he did not
reign on the land for three years and six months. 18. And he prayed again.
Tell me someone else I'll pray again. And the heavens gave reign. Hallelujah.
And the earth produced its fruits. Amen. Hallelujah. So who was this man in
Elijah that he prayed and he prayed again. He once he prayed once that
there shall not be any reign. And there was no reign for three and a half
years. And this same man comes. Hallelujah. And the Bible is saying it's
just like us. Hello. You think it's like us. Hallelujah. The Bible cannot
come tonight. Cannot contradict it. But so the Bible is quite
emphatic. Hallelujah. That it was a man just like us. Amen. And you and I
know that sometimes we bind and it doesn't get seemed like it's been
bound. But who is this extraordinary man that when he cries out that
there shall not be any reign for three and a half good years and the
reigns were held. So we can learn a few things. Hallelujah. So let's
go to fast skin, chapter 17. Because that is where he makes his
life in the Bible. Hallelujah. Amen. So fast skin, chapter 17.
Let's look at the money Elijah. Now the Bible says it was such a
man like us. Very human like us. Hallelujah. See, let's do this one.
You see that any Elijah, the Tishbites of the inhabitants of
Gilead set to air. This was his first appearance. The Bible doesn't
tell us where he comes from. He just seems to have just surfaced on
the scene. And the Bible says that he came and confronted the king
here. And he said, has the Lord God of Israel leaves. I'm
aligning it. As the Lord God of Israel leaves. Our God leaves.
Our God leaves. Our God rules in the affairs of men. Our God
reigns. Hallelujah. Amen. And then the next thing that he told
he had before whom I stand. I have access before him. He needs
to tell me that the Lord that translation says that the Lord
before whom I said, before whom I stand like a waiter, my
lemon standing in my attire. Rama standing in my attire. More
like I am a servant of the Lord, my attire. Really ask the king
there. And then he next is proclamation. There shall not be
this year's except at my word, hallelujah. It is very
instructional to get the background where Elijah is coming
from to make those declarations that he's making hallelujah.
Amen. King Ahab is a seventh king of the nothing tribes of
Israel. Remember, the united kingdom of Israel, where the
12 tribes were together, happened only during the reign of
King Saul, the reign of King David, and then the reign of
King Solomon. Amen. That was when Israel was a united, if
you like, United States of Israel, consisting of all the 12
tribes, hallelujah. But during Solomon's reign, hallelujah,
during Solomon, because of his drifting away, amen.
And his apostasy. God decided I'm going to strip the kingdom
from you. And split it up. But because of David and his
faithfulness, I'm going to preserve for him and his lineage
because my wife has already gone out to David. That I will never
allow. I'll always leave a member of his household or his
dynasty. I'll establish a dynasty for him. And there will be
always someone who will be ruling hallelujah in the tribe of
Judah for which he was coming from. So God preserved him
two tribes, the tribes of Judah and then Benjamin, hallelujah.
And then the other 10 tribes, hallelujah. So Ahab was a
king of the 10 tribes, hallelujah. So the actual splitting
happened during the success of Solomon. That is real
work. Amen. The man who said that my hand is ticker, hallelujah.
Amen. That the noise of my father, amen. And if my father
just ties you with with me, I'll just ties you with scorpions, hallelujah.
And then the people said, we, what are we going to do with the
tribe of David? And then the kingdom was split. And so Ahab
was a ruler in the 10 nothing tribes. Amen. Hallelujah.
And he was the seventh king when Jerobo was the first king
of the 10 tribes, hallelujah. So down the line Ahab became
the king, hallelujah. And he's the seventh king there. Amen.
And his dad was hungry. Amen. And join his dad's reign.
That is when he bought the land for Samaria and built a city
there, hallelujah. He purchased a land and built a city there.
And then Samaria became the capital of the nothing tribes. Amen.
So it is his son, Ahab. And the man who bought Samaria and
built Samaria as the capital of the nothing tribe, his son
now Ahab is the one who was ruling hallelujah. Amen.
It's very important that we get some of these backgrounds.
And Ahab, when he started ruling, he married Jesse Bell.
Amen. And Sidonean Princess and a Balweshipa, hallelujah.
And so when Jesse Bell came to a matrimonial home, amen.
Then she brought Balweship, hallelujah. So Ahab and then
Jesse Bell brought Balweship to Israel. Now this Bal, amen.
Bal was supposed to be a male god, amen. And then Asherah was
a female god. Now Bal was responsible for reign, for fertility, amen.
Hallelujah for prosperity and all those things. Amen.
And Bal was supposed to be in charge for reign and due, which was
important for an agrarian society like Israel, hallelujah.
And so that is the context that and Jesse Bell also, in
order to be able to exterminate Yahweh worship, he killed all the
prophets of God. Amen. That is why I come that Elijah was
at the point saying that he is the only one that is left.
And God said, no, I've been able to preserve 7,000 souls that
have not bowed themselves to Balweship. Are you getting the context?
Very, very important, hallelujah. So Ahab and Jesse Bell were
responsible for importing Balweship to Israel. And indeed they
built a worship center for him, for Balweship. And he had as
much as 850 hallelujah, 450 for Bal, 400 for Asherah. And so
the place where we read about the, amen. Elijah prayed that
it will reign. It was after the context on Mount Kamel, hallelujah,
where Elijah was able to prove that Yahweh was God, was a
God that could answer my fire. And he began the people said, oh,
Yah, Yahweh he is God. And then the people came back to Yahweh
worship, hallelujah. Amen. So at this point in time, as I was
saying, Ahab and Jesse Bell had imported and a lot of people were
drifting towards Balweship, amen, hallelujah. So when Elijah comes
on the scene and then he says that as the Lord God of Israel lives
before whom I stand, they shall not be due nor reign these
years, except I might wait. He was trying to hit right the
hallelujah of Balweship. The father was claiming to be the Lord
over the rings, over the climate, over Tanda, hallelujah, amen.
And so once you get it this way, then you understand where Elijah
was coming from, amen. But in the first point that I wanted
to make hallelujah, that it talks about Elijah being a man like
Alba, as we are seeing here, when this man comes on the scene
immediately, it comes to confront Ahab concerning the gods of
the land, concerning Balweship, amen. So we see this man the first time he
appears, it doesn't look like somebody who has been just around
and somebody who does not know God. So you can't just get up and
then begin to command and hold reign. The point being that
before he appears here, it looks that he has been on the
setting journey with God. And the first point that he makes
mention is that as the Lord God of Israel lives, amen.
As the Lord God of Israel lives, God is not dead.
That is the point that is making. Now you have been able to
persuade all Israel and everybody has drifted towards Balweship.
But God is still alive. I know that God is still alive.
And he's coming to make some bold declarations and to
prove that God is alive with signs and warnings, including
the context on the mount camel and then that withholding of the
reign. Amen. So when James is telling us that
he was a man like us, don't think that hallelujah.
You can just be living anyhow and then you can just begin and
then you can conjure the reign and stay at the reign and
command the race to come and the race to come. No.
So yes, we are talking about praying again. That was not an ordinary
man. Hallelujah. But the point being that he began a
setting journey of getting to know God and that you and I
are just like him can equally be equipped more like you are all
candidates to be used by God like he likes our Zeus.
Hallelujah. So IPIP, we are saying all we know all the
barren needs in our own lives in the lives of our friends in
the lives of our loved ones. And we are saying that we are
setting our foot aside to see for them. But do you have
a standing with God? Do you have a standing with God?
Do you know how you are whether God leaves God
courage in the affairs of men? Hallelujah. Amen.
Ask somebody for me. That's Godly.
I was upon a time I read a story. I read an article
of a point that a man of God was making. It said, look,
there are some of us. There are some of us.
If there was a news flash, incontrovertible,
that Jesus is a rough story, it's a complete hoax.
We have been able to prove it. There was no Jesus that
ever lived. And then they came to the church.
Have you seen it? What do you think? They said Jesus
never lived. And it's proof, conclusive.
So so so. Yeah, name is
a man. The behind name is a name is a
name is a name is a. I'm not surprised.
I'm not surprised. Ask yourself, what would be your comment?
I knew it. I knew it. I knew it was a waste of time.
Waste of time? Yes, we didn't check. You don't know God.
You don't know God. You have not proved that it's a life.
Once upon a time, when I was on campus,
there was a gentleman, I mean, or my, or my floor.
So we used to go to meetings together. I used to go
to Harvard research. So we used to go together.
And because we were you know moving from
unity home to African whole chapel.
And when this most of them were sitting together.
And we were praying to do that.
A praying together.
I can't tell you we were praying together.
And he was also, one day, after one holy day,
when he came, he said, it's over.
He said, no, no, he didn't. He doesn't believe in Jesus again.
You can admit, I said, but you, but I talked,
you were praying in tongues.
Because I still remember he was praying in tongues.
At least it was me.
I was also depressed.
I said, what happened to this guy?
He says that no.
This whole Christian thing, it's a ox.
He said, away.
God does not live.
I don't want to have anything to do with God again.
Hallelujah. Amen.
I used to pray for him.
I said, what happened to this guy?
I thought he was don't speaking.
So what's he?
Hallelujah.
He said, I hope you are getting me.
I don't know where you got your guna.
Ask yourself, where did you get your tongues from?
Ask yourself, don't ask anybody.
Ask yourself, Mikra, where did I get my tongues from?
Hallelujah.
Oh my God, Elijah, the Tishbite.
And he said, until my word comes from the presence of the Lord.
Who lives?
It doesn't matter.
All Israel have turned to bar worship.
He said, ask for me, no.
The man was coming from some way.
That the Bible unfortunately doesn't give us an account of his beginnings
and his work with God.
But at this point in time, when everybody was saying that no, it is bar.
It is bar.
In Israel.
He comes boldly and says, no, I want to confront this lies in our day.
Oh my God, that's it.
This is the, I'm trusting God that during this Ikea race,
the next generation of leaders or the church.
Bold, bold, bold, confrontational leaders who will confront the lies.
Who confront the lies?
Jesus is alive.
That's what I'm saying.
Look inside.
Hallelujah.
What it was are evident that Jesus lives.
Elijah comes and he says, guys, where did you get this from?
That God?
Yahweh is dead.
And you are resorted to bar worship.
And you have been able to lead all Israel.
To go to bar worship.
Oh.
And the man who he came with a mission, isn't it?
He came with a mission.
One prophet slew 850 bar prophets.
When it was proven in controversy that Yahweh, he is king.
Hallelujah.
Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen.
Look, when we talk about prayer, when we talk about prayer,
you must have a standing with God.
He's alive.
He's alive.
Amen.
And we keep on saying, that's what we are saying.
You are here.
God.
God.
Hallelujah.
You don't know whether it's a lie.
Whether it can't.
Because you don't have the...
There's a lack of proofs in your life.
You need proofs before you can pray again.
Hallelujah.
And this...
Should I... I call it the adventures of Elijah with God.
This is episode number one.
When it shows up, the rings.
We are stopping the rings.
Papa, say, yeah.
It's a goal. Show yourself.
Can tell him.
Bow.
In charge of rings.
In charge of fertility.
In charge of tanda.
Let us mind.
Tell him.
Until I come back and speak.
There's no going to be a...
Let bow prove himself.
Let us all think.
Let bow prove himself.
Who is this man?
Who is this man?
You...look.
We need signs and numbers now.
You need it.
You need it.
If you believe that God is alive, you will see it.
Nobody language.
And that's the next point he makes.
The first point he says, as the Lord God of Israel lives, God lives.
And I'm here to proclaim it to you that God is alive.
And he rules and he ranks.
And he's in charge.
He's in charge of the heavens and the earth.
He's the one who stands for range to us and gives life and breath and everything that is driving on this earth.
What are you saying? Who is this bar at my word to save the Lord?
He was not making the proclamations on his own.
That's another important point as a leader.
You want to be a servant of the Lord?
You must know where you get your marching orders from.
Hallelujah.
And you know when to speak and to shut up.
A servant of the Lord, your master has not made you go and then you just go and say,
like, I see, I keep on saying, you know, I've not had anything in there.
You know, but because he had that is why he was able to pray again.
It's a no.
That's what gives the effect effect for fair and pray of the righteous man.
Somebody was standing before God.
Don't know him and I know God.
Why?
Like I said, something you see this they know.
He has proofs.
He has proofs in his pocket.
He knows where he's coming from.
He said, God lives.
And he's coming to make a bold proclamation and confront about.
Unfortunately, we don't know.
What are you doing?
What are you doing now?
In your closet?
In your hiding place?
What are the things that God is teaching you?
So that when one day he sends you a new spring for a new cup.
That's the end of the Lord.
And you know what you see?
There is the sound of their pandas of freedom.
I hear God.
You need it.
You need it.
You don't need the newspaper to tell you that Jesus is alive.
