Welcome back in to Lakeland Sports Guy's podcast, Tom Carroll. Chris Cox, the Kenny Flaught joining you from Howard's Unmain and Uptown Greenwood. Glad to have you along for the ride on this Thursday week three of High School football week two. I guess they're saying week one. They have a week zero in college, right Chris? Yeah, I don't agree with it. But to us, it's the first official weekend. Yes. Okay. What do you do that? It's what happens. We got that for you. Clemson taking on LSU. We got that Carolina Kent State PC is in action. Erskine has the week off. And they're going to buy week this week and they'll be in action next weekend to go along with it. So all kinds of high school football to talk about with three wood going down to North Augusta. Emerald has probably the best game in our areas.
They go up to Winley Varn Stadium and take on the Wolverines of Woodruff in the process of that. So it should be a good, good high school weekend, a bunch of games in and around the lakelands. However, not a lot of big, big games like there were last week. Can you wait here last week? Let me go ahead and just for Ryan. I'm going to do this again. I'm going to do a fair for Hiveman. I think Erskine will be on the map this year because of the quarterback. And I almost say his that man is hair for Hiveman. He's going to put numbers up and we're going to like it. As long as he keeps his hair. Yeah. So, just like Simpson, he's all in it. All the strength is in his head. Hey, look at this chap boy. You keep everybody over him. You've retained his hair. Hey, if they win it, don't cut your hair. He's trying to get arm, though. That's one thing I think we noticed in the stats. What last week, he was like 65 or 68 percent by Hiveman. Makes some good decisions in that game last week and hopefully that will continue on. So, we'll see what happens when we talk about that next week. That's the next week. But before we begin, I'm going to give you a chance to talk about the NBA because the harshest penalty, I think ever handed down to an NBA team, was handed down to the Clippers due to the fact that they broke the salary camp rules.
But they are going to lose five first round picks. That's a lot. That's a lot. It's not exactly the death penalty, but... Which is what should happen. To the player, to the owner, to the team. You remember, probably eight years ago, when the Clippers owner got caught racially motivated, not hiring. They took him off with a head, president of the Clippers. The Southern gentleman came in and bought him and now he is in the same thing. Here's the reason it ain't harsh, Tom. What was it? It's $3.00 million. $30 million. $34.00 million. That man is going to write that check. It'll be a write-off. Kawaii Leonard is the one just going to get away with the murder, as you're calling him out. He got traded. From said, Clippers, who are absolutely awful. He's going back to be a part of the Toronto Raptors, who he won a championship with several years ago.
He's leaving the team that he can't win with to get to a team he can win with. And he's going to get $71 million on top of it. The harsh penalty is what my man. I look, Stephen A. for president, is all I want to say. Stephen A. I can't say the words you said because you did use the N word. But he said, I don't say that very often, but this one ought to be hung, is exactly what Stephen A. said. Because now they're giving him everything he wants. They said, it's penalty ought to be he can never leave the Clippers and has to play with them the rest of his career till he retires. Not harsh enough, Emily. You're talking about the five one draft fix. That's probably going to cost you maybe $40 million over a period of time because you won't have them. Yeah. And then you got your owner. It has been suspended for a year. Your basketball operations manager or head of basketball, basketball operations has also been suspended for six months. Who you got running this team? Who you want? Well, let's go and say who running after Donald Sterling got the team taking, bro. And they're saying, grew. He's taking him. He's taking the run. He's just ain't going to be in the forefront. He'll run it from somewhere.
You know, this is what I got to go. This is what bothers me. I was a Clippers fan early because Uncle was stationed in San Diego and they were the San Diego Clippers at the time. Had a little basketball player that Paul might remember named Cermet Washington. I said, Front Row, they called it the Garden. Believe it or not, San Diego Clippers arena was called the Garden also. Dr. J in Cermet Washington went for 52 points. The only game I ever sat in attendance. They both went for 52 in Cermet Washington and San Diego Clippers beat them. So when I saw that this morning, I was disheartened because I do like Cawal and I'm not going to lie. I think it's a really good player, but he stays hurt. He stays in your reserve more than Cawal does. Hmm. All right. Well, anyway, all kinds of bad news happening for the Clippers. That's right now. So, like I said, Cawal, he's going to come out smelling like that. He will. He always does. He will. All right. Well, let's start with the college aspect of things because we've got some big, big games are going to be taking place here with the two big schools that we've got with South Carolina and also with Clemson.
Let's start with Clemson. All kinds of speculation going on right now with LSU, hiring, former NFL players to come back and play for their 50 years. So on and so forth. I think there's two of them that they've better coming back. One of them is the tight end. I know who gave us all kinds of trouble last year. For the bruh. Oh, that's a court case today on it. Isn't it to decide if they can do that or not? Because I think ex-Pinke was down in Louisiana getting ready to testify or something today. I thought he's there for the appeal. The appeal because there was a judge in Texas that ruled against the NCAA and saying that Lane can bring whoever he wants in every college can. I tell you what I want to say. I told you money. I want this judge. They need to take his. He needs to be disbard from anything where reality included. Well, whatever she's getting ready. What's getting ready to happen to other shoot? Yeah, the other shoot can ready to be kicked out of South Carolina conference. If they play any of that. And I really feel like that's probably going to happen eventually if I keep going down this road.
Well, that's why Sanky is there today is to let LSU, the four stipulations. If you go ahead, you want to continue this with your thief of a head coach, Crook Nutsy, Crook of a head coach. Continue to go down that path, but we will have our day with you. And like I said, you play them. I mean, the original thing from the conferences where your coach is suspended and you're going to lose players and you're going to lose games. So I think the NCAA has to stay strong with that. And if they do play them, suspend them, fire them, and if they don't get there on lawyer anyway, but you got to set the precedent that one judge in Texas don't run the whole deal. It means to me that a judge in Texas did it and not a judge. Oh, no, he's friends with the LSU president and the governor. He's friends with those. Yeah, that's what they do. They go on a fine who they're friends with or who we can get a better, maybe a shot of breaking the rules. And that's where they go. And you know, let's talk about Lane Kiffin a minute. We can talk all we want about Lane Kiffin.
But put yourself in his shoes. If they allow you to do it, you're going to do it. And if they allow him to do this. So of course, he's going to do it if he can do it. I mean, I think any, I say any coach, probably if they look at it, yeah, he's not. He's not one I would hire because he's going to get you in trouble. But I mean, he's, they letting him do it. He's going to do it. You know, so I mean, you can blame him all you want. I don't like him. He wasn't hired. But I mean, he's not done by no means. And if he's going to get away with it, he's going to try. And until somebody puts a stop to him or stop to ask this more of the University of LSU, then he is him because they don't want to push in this. And you know, let's see what happens.
I hope I hope that I can come and kick somebody to lead. I really do because they need to use somebody as an example. Yeah. I don't see it. I mean, unless you is a founding member of the CCR, I think they were one of those. I just, I see the teams more so maybe forfitting against them. Then I see them before again, kick down the league. But at some point, your morals have got to say to you that this is wrong. This is not a good thing to do. They don't have any in Louisiana. They don't have any good morals down there. They go from the governor, headlet director, the president of the University, and everything. I mean, yeah, you look at the women's basketball. You get away with it too. Wait, wait. The basketball coach, wait. He's back. He's back. I mean, they got a hard apple. He got a hard apple doing the same thing a few years ago. I want Howard to be right there because there's not many times I'm going to do this. I'm going to do it for a full all right now. He don't have morals and he don't have ethics. But I'm going to tell you what.
I hope Davo, they can't win the game, Tom Carroll. But I hope they go down and they mate the game and he smacks them in a mile because you said one guy and not his dabbo that will not do this. And I'm not a dabbo dude. But when Davo says, I don't want the poor one, he means with a several. So I'll stand up for him now. I'm not a dabbo dude. I'm not a beamer dude. I need to get on coastal carol. Let us do it. You got the two extremes going right? You know what it is, a dabbo in Lane Kippin. You know, God in the devil. You got dabbo who wants what 1935 kind of football back and then you got Lane Kippin who just doesn't care. And has yet to win. That's what I think people really need to realize. They've got to set it. Now I'm skinny to word. What does it go look like? If Ella she goes out and like I said a crook now, he still ahead coached from Ole Miss. Which Ole Miss is glad he's gone now. They don't have the right guy in place either. And this is what has to happen now.
And now you got courts having to peel to make sure he can win. What is there roster this year at LSU? It's like 50 to 70 million dollar roster. And they want to use an X Cleveland Brown tied in. You ain't got nobody else that ain't you going to stop from somebody else to tie it in. I don't know who it was but somebody mentioned another day. I can't remember who it was that. And why? It's just messed up because look, you'll go all your life with the make it to the pros. You make it to the pros and they cut you. You won't go about the college. You really? You said something right there. That was the Brown's assistant. Where is he going to go? He's not going back to college. He didn't roll in no classes. So you tell him hey, thank you. And this is what the judge should be worried about everything in Texas. Should be worried about. If I allow all these kids to go back to school, somebody's kids are graduated. They might be driving,
ranging with the North. It's working. I don't know. But they're not going back to school. They're taking play and time from a guy to someone's scholarship on one. And that's what I think is just ludicrous that they letting these guys come back. And like I said, it's tanky and we'd go much. But if you really kick this team out of the lead, that coach I'd lead, who's the quarterback for all they stole from Arizona State? Levitt. They got to go. Everyone in players ought to not be allowed to play college football again. Because I think it's one of the highest payrolls in college football this year. Well, I think they had most of the defense coming back. And they got bikers that defense the quarter. And so they're going to be pretty good on defense. They're going to be good. I'd like to say I stood up with my Davos thing, but I mean, I don't know what the spread even is. They didn't hear enough. I won't say that. It is. They're giving LSU 10.5. Or excuse, clumps of 10.5. And let me get you five of the guys over under 50.5. If I were the bad man, I might would take clumps in the 10.5. I cheated myself with five to point five.
I might be the one I'm looking for. Well, like I said, I think that's the spread. It's pretty. I think it's pretty close to what it should be. LSU should win this game easily from the guys I've talked to, the RLSU and R Clumps to man. That's another problem I got here. You can't be a tiger on both sides. You're the big guy to be a game cock or a duck. Today I'm a duck. So I know it's even to say you can fit into talk about Burrerman and my ducks. But it should be a fun game. I mean, since we're already there with the Clumps in the game, what has to happen, Kenny? For the devil to even be in this game, what has to happen? That guy, if I have, they're going to have to be consistent on offense. I think, I have to have a running game on offense. They're going to have to have something, a balanced attack. They're going to have to build a runner ball and throw it. And they're defense, I think, I think, I think that's a difference going to be pretty good. They can hold their own. But offense, I think that's what people have waiting because you got a new quarterback. You got a running bat.
You got a couple of running, good running backs back. I don't even know. You got some great receivers. So we'll see what the office line does. Did you run them back on me, Tom? Because I hadn't seen the put you out. You got the guy to mess SMU now. Yeah. Well, I forgot about you. Okay. All right. I'm just not sure what the scene here. And I got some pretty good receivers on the outside. So we'll see. And they had one guy heard. I think they still put his pretty solid out there. Maybe. Can you be offense line like it always is? I mean, if you can. And that's where they're. I think that's where you may see a struggle for Clemson. I don't like. I was joking with you all about Clemson Terry. He's worried about the offense line and what they can do to put points on the board. I'm in the same situation in Columbia. I don't think it's this dire in Clemson as it is in Carolina. Yeah. We got Gideon Davidson, who probably is going to end up starting. You've got Chris Johnson Jr. He's the one that came over. That was there. Then you got David Izumi. I like that, Kayan. Tom Kerr guys. He's right here. So we'll see where that ends up. Receiving you got the one through last.
You know, the one the one plus Clemson's offense has despite all the unknowns with running back, with quarterback. But you got two wide receivers that are pretty dog gone good. That are out there. And then you've also got an offensive line. I think that has improved from last year and didn't lose, but what one or two folks from that. So if they can keep Visini up upright, they may have a better chance than not. And all the pressure face it. All the pressure isn't on Clemson in this. That's all. I think you got a show though. I mean, we're not going to say it like a Kentucky derby when you get money for a show or it's show end finished. But I mean, I don't think this is a game Clemson can go down here and it ends up 56 to 3. And positive things happen at Clemson University. I think they got to at least make a game out of it. But the thing is, like I said, you're right. The pressure, I mean, that will is for these issues. He's always been the underdog, whatever he's tried to do. And like I said, I'm not saying this is going to be if they lose this game 56 to 7 or whatever I just told you.
That's not doing anything to the SEC record. I mean, ACC record because I still think they can win that and they can win enough games that they need to in the ACC. But in their minds that lost the SEC if it comes to on the playoffs, that will be where it's resurrected in their minds if they have to play a Texas. And LSU possibly again and Alabama and they're like, I can't do it. I can't do it. Can you wait and know where ACC and we can't compete. That's basically what the mindset is going to be until they roll that dice. If they roll the dice, you're going to be okay with that ACC, ACC. Because I would trade it right now. We would jump in. They could jump in the SEC if they wanted to. We'd jump into I would go to ACC in a heartbeat myself with a coaching staff. I got right now. But like I said, this is the game they got to show. And then we didn't even talk about what if it's worse than 56 to 7. What are we talking about a 40 point loss? What is that going to be about? That would not look good for the ACC in general, in particular, Clemson.
But for the ACC, it would it would put them even what two or four five main steps backwards from where the SEC in the big 10 are. Yeah, I would say the same name because we go a couple games tonight. Colorado Georgia Tech. I don't want to talk about the on, but I think you have to talk about the on because I'd say he's. If they come out and go three and whatever like last year, I think he's gone. Even though he's had the health issues and stuff now. Georgia Tech should be a better improved team because they got the portal gave them a lot of talent. Miami's Stanford's an ACC game. I'm just trying to try to take the pressure off of Clemson here. Miami has that pit. Conference game already there. BC's Cincinnati, Tulane Duke. BMI and BT Clemson LSU. I mean, so there's a bunch of games that if you lose this game, you got more ACC teams and say, wait, what did they do? You know, Dabble can he's not going to throw it. He can't jump his staff and the players, but I just don't.
I got a lot of Clemson and LSU guys are telling me in the low country. This won't be close. They'll be stunned if this is a 50 point game because Clemson's nowhere near talent wise. And if that's the case, that's what I'm saying. Where are we at with Dabble as far as head coach at University of Clemson? I mean, what can he go again this year? Can he go? What y'all got last year? Seven five. Seven and six. Seven and six. So if he does another seven and six, I mean, do you have guys like Howard and Manley and guys that put the money to it? The update is say, you know what? We're okay with that because here's the thing. I think a lot of those same guys are like, why are we getting quarter players? Why aren't we? I respect Dabble for saying, I'm going to build it my way. I've done it for 20 years. I'm going to continue to do it. I don't need quarter. I think certainly later you've got to realize you do. You went quarter to get a punter and I don't think he made the team. I know you want to build it the right way, but like Kenny started with,
if everybody else is doing it, why don't we jump on board until something's done about it? And that's what I'm saying. I think Clonston would fare a lot better if they would be like everybody else and just need a pick who they can pull. Maybe Tom Allen is that way. He's saying, yeah, Allen is that problem. That's what you're going to do it. Allen, he don't, I don't think Dabble likes it. Tom Allen built, built in the end. I don't give a nobody say, see, Nettie win it one in there, but at Tom Allen built it. Well, you know, Ellen's you has Sam Levitt as the quarterback from Arizona State, okay? He proved all kinds of records and things for Arizona State while he was over there. But he was more, if you ask me, he was more of, you know, it's about me kind of attitude than it was about the team attitude when he was there in Arizona State. Dude, man, you know who that guy played with? His play was cataboo. That fellow yummy green. He's going to be a really good quarterback. I mean, he's really good quarterback and to go to a team like I said,
it's, I just don't, again, I'm a game cocking for us to be having a commute with a few teams. It's got a $200 million roster and we got a $70 million. We're not going farewell for all in SEC when you got guys doing that. The other thing is Clemson has got the poor Clemson, you know, they're going to get beat by so and so. Lo is me. Yeah, the one was me from all the fan bases that are out there and all this. You know, go back to 2013, 2014 when all that was going on the same way. Clemson, it was, it was Clemson back then. Everybody, you know, I was going to do what they do. And, you know, we're back to that kind of mentality here once again where Clemson is going to have to prove themselves to get back up. And I think they will. I think this is right where they want to be. I like where you're at because you're talking about what the Clemson came in and then what happened? Dabble said he smacked Alabama in the face. He says not so fast. And I think that's what has to happen. I'm just, I'm trying to look at every feasible thing. I know, I know levit three for 31 touchdowns and eight pigs last year.
They're going to stay a good schedule because they're playing big or they were playing whatever. I mean, it's just, I think it's a game that Clemson's got a show. I don't think they had to win it, but they got a show. Now, you remember link Kippins offenses are hurry up and go. They're going to play tempo. They're going to play fast. And Clemson's going to have to find a way to, I don't want to say slow them down, but literally they're going to have to find a way to slow them down some way somehow. Being at the first game of the season penalties could probably be a part of that as far as slowing them down. But you're going to have to find a way to get guys in on defense to give these, you know, front four defensive lines. Defensive lineman, some breaks that are in there because he's going to, he's going to try to do what Chad Morris does and that's around 100 plays in a game. Can you show me a fast-paced game? How do you shut that down? What was it that Burkett used to say, you limit possessions. You got to be strategic and if you get the ball first, I mean the coin toss should be something that we look at in the game.
If Clemson gets to kick it and running back, let me tell you a number of possessions. I told my Sam Levin while I go, I ain't sold on him. Clemson's going to have to get pressure on him. Clemson cannot afford to let him sit back down and throw the ball all night long because LSU's got some receipts on outside. They got athletes. I mean, let's be honest. And if you let a quarterback like that sit back down and just pick your part, you're in trouble. So Clemson's going to have to find some kind of way to put pressure on him and hit him in the mouth. I mean, and then again, I'm saying, Sam Levin's part, I want to see him play against him a good competition. I ain't saying he didn't play against good confidence last year because I don't know what to say. But it ain't nothing to what he's going to play against this year. And Clemson's going to be known as having a good defense. And I want to see if Clemson can put pressure on him. They got a shot. So don't let him sit back down and pick your part and don't let him sit back down and run for 10 yards every time he runs the ball.
You can't afford to do that. Up back up running, I mean, I'm running back, starting running back from I'm going to see. I think he's got a better chance than a high one than Levin does. I mean, we'll see how he does. And I suppose his name is brother, Lasty or whatever. So there again, you smack him into my house, you got to run him back to order about two losses. It's kind of a double-edged. I think what you say, I think you do win with defense somehow. If you win this game, it's with defense. But you still got a high ability to put points on the board and that's the. I don't know, easy team this year about what it's going to look like for those times. And on Clemson offense, when they're on offense. They got a, Eddyshoot got a, got a pretty good defense. I mean, good defense front. They got a lot of guys back on defense. And they got a great defense coordinator. Clemson's going to have to establish a running game early. To keep the linebackers from just. Pilling their ears back and just coming and keeping them right there. And then when you throw the ball, do a little. I don't know if Chad Mars is known for play action passing, but.
He's going to have to, if he can get that running game going, he can do some play action passes. And maybe keep them linebackers back a little bit, keep them from coming in. And he could dump it to the tide in here. He can throw that little screen out there to the Y receivers. I don't want to see Chad Mars falling in love with that bubble screen out there like he normally does. That's, that's like a love throwing that bubble screen. And I just don't think that's going to work against LSU. I just think they're too fast on the outside. So they're going to have to establish something between the tackles. I don't know what it is, but they're going to have to establish a good running game. And you, and utilize the tidy and more. I think they'll be fine. But they got to do that. Who is the defensive tackle that y'all got her in that you got last year? I just state it was so good. No one deepens a guy in the state. A myriadons or something. I think he's got to be there. I think that's who's got to be together. He's the guy that's got to step it up and bust them into my arms. I agree with everything you're saying. Now you got me thinking about Raj Fence where he went from glimpsen with the bubble screen.
Well, me and Chad Mars from the same way. They love that bubble screen, but he has some good athletes over there. He could do that too. I ain't saying they don't know, but LSU can match him as a athlete on the outside. Oh, well, that's what I'm saying. Again, we're fixing, we're balancing out ACC, ACC. And I mean, I know a lot of people are, they don't think it should be even a close game. And I don't know. I mean, I could see this if it was in the other valley. If it was in glimpsen, I could see maybe a thought process. But I've been down there before, right? I know what it's going to be like. So if you think you can want to shake your hands and meet the light, you better be waiting for the dogs to go and be out of the chain. You had to worry about no tigers. You got to worry about the dog off the chain. You got to walk right by a tiger just in that cage when you go in that stadium. Them been there. And it's, and any great place to play at night. I mean, it's all, I mean, it's terrible. It's scary. It's worse than Birmingham. I mean, I'm coming off the Bourbon Street down there. So including Beirad. And, and there's the other kicker. The Anheuser Bush Clod's Dales are going to be there for their Tiger Walk Down the Hill.
So Beirad made a ride. He's already got the pictures this morning. So he's, Game Day's going to be there too, I think. He's already posting up on, on, on, on the street, now that he is. So have a good time. Be ready. Make it back. Well, I guess a good thing about bad road. Just about 30 miles from, uh, home New Orleans. So hopefully they got a designated driver on the stadium. But anyway. So the first 20 minutes, I think the first half is going to be lights out. I think we're going to see a lot of great football can. And Clemson keep up with their athletes in the depth that, that LSU is going to have in the second half is going to be, I think we're Clemson and sub winning or losing it. Oh, yeah, I get to the second half first. I think you got to shut everything down first time. You can't do that. Second half can be miserable. Should we play them in other times and know that? Yeah, I don't think Clemson will lose 50 to 6. I hope they don't because if they do. And then they go on and have a decent year and have a chance for playoff. That's the game they're going to look at when they go by.
They say whatever early game don't mind it yet they do matter. They matter in your mind. If you get 50 to 6, your first game of the year against LSU, the LSU is the playoff team. Say they playoff team, they're going to look at that. That's a man. They did this, but they ain't they won on the road and got 50 to 6 by LSU. I think we're going to choose them. That wouldn't be good. All right. Here's Dambos, sweetie, what he had to say in the press conference this week is last one heading in and getting ready to leave for Baton Rouge. I mean, ask me next week. I mean, we need to go play a game. That's what I think. You know, we've got a bunch of guys that have worked hard, but we need to go play a game and see where we're at. It's true. We're going to listen to what happens with their NFL tight end. They have a nightmare or a match up with Green, number 14 last season. We scored the winning touchdown in last year's game. What's the key to defending a guy like him in the red zone? You better find a way to get to the quarterback.
He's a problem. I mean, he's a big, long guy. You got to just you got to do a great job at the line of scrimmage. If you if you try to press him and if you play any type of coverage, you've got to stay on top of him. He's a handful, but you know, we've got to not let him not let him have just a bunch of free access. That's for sure. He's a great player. Never had a quarter. Obviously, Ashton is the top guy there, but outside of Ashton, who's the guy who's kind of in that top group in the corner? Yeah, same guys. You know, Elliott and Strozier, you know, in Ashton, those have been those have been same guys, you know, since the spring. Elliott's, you know, done a great job since he got here. And then, you know, we really like our group. We got a lot of guys, you know, Gibson can play anywhere. Tink can play anywhere. Really like what we've seen out of star. So we've done a good job of developing some depth that position. And is a coach still away from the team right now or she back? No, he's still away. And that only came in time and then I was wondering if there's an official decision made in Los Alpreas between Todd and Lee.
I mean, they'll both have an opportunity to play. Same thing, you know. You know, we got to need the one on me. I mean, Brody, I guess has played a little bit in a couple of games, but obviously reached just got here. So kind of same thing. Those guys have done a good job in practice, but we've got to go play some games and then we'll go from there. Team and air receivers in there off the ball blocking. Have you been pleased there and maybe taken a step forward in that department since last season? Well, I'd say we've worked really hard on it. We certainly have practiced it a ton since the spring. It's been a big if it's not just on offense, but on defense as well. So definitely something we put a lot of work into. And we need to show up on game day. How was it all when you guys keep up with the hearing tomorrow in that bridge about this NFL player's eligibility and how well that effect came planning for you guys middle piece of that decision? I didn't even know there was a hearing.
So I'm not worried about it all. I'm just worried about us, man. That's it. Just worried about us and making sure we're having a great team Thursday tomorrow and really just trying to polish all the details of our plan and what we want to try to do and focus on that. That's really it. All right. So there you have a little bit about to have a swing. He's press conference on Tuesday and what he had to say and the questions that he had to say after all of that. You've already heard the pardon the pun, but we're going to stay in our lane. I thought I could say it again right there, but it kind of gives you an idea of where he's at and where he's focuses as of right now. And it's, I want to play this football game. Let's, you know, let's get to that. We've already made the roster. We got what we want. We got, you know, first team, second team, third team. So let's line them up and let's go. I like what he said, he's in. He didn't even acknowledge it. Here he going on. That's for Jim Phillips to do from the ACC.
Now Jim Phillips would be a big part of that. Stank he'll be there in every other commissional and president from big 10 and every other conference is trying to get this scene thrown out. And I like the focus and I think that's where it has to be. Like I said, these two teams and my love affair with either team could tie for a whole like care. I just this year alone, I am really, and it's hard for me to say this for all I am really pulling for clubs in the windows football game. Just because of the, I'll say it, the outright hatred for LSU, my trips down the Baton Rouge and the Orleans, Miami, wherever you played it, they're at. They are ruthless individuals. I don't know if I ever can say I'm in. Now when I went to Ole Miss, nice people, I went to start Vegas, mean people, but at least they would shake your hand instead of stabbing the back. LSU don't turn around on nobody. So I want clubs to get on and have a good time. I think the focus in the mindset is right. I just don't know that they got the bullets in the gun to complete the win.
I hope so. But if they do, it'll be stopping the defense, stopping LSU, which is going to be difficult. So I think this Fred's pretty high for a game without magnitude, not knowing what you have for me, the team. LSU was like that full-length keeping, and we got that out. They were ruthless people. They had hotter, and we just added to it, and then look at this way. It's all this media stuff going to affect the LSU. They could. Man, what's going on here? This guy going to play, he's ain't going to play. I was just reading a few minutes ago where he's already practicing. He's practicing his mind. He's been practicing his mind. So, you know, they plan on him playing. So what's going to happen if your judge says he can't play, or somebody doesn't enjoy the way he can't play? Is that going to affect them? And all this media hype. You got to look at that too. He could affect Lane because I guess that I promised he's been practicing him. He's been out there with the team every day, hoping he can get a chance to play again.
I still look at, like Kenny just said, man, you're an NFL. You signed with the Browns, cut by the Browns. Why do you even want to go back? When you go chance to play in the practice squad. And it still, well, no, he's going to make 10 times more money with LSU. I get that, but where is he going to go? You can't have him on a football team. Not going to class. He's already got enough money from NAL. He's got to probably, he probably bought out Plojo's condo when she got drafted to the WNBA. So he's probably already got that million dollar a boot. And like I said, he can't make it because he's not going to get picked up by another team because of this, Kenny. This is the reason I don't think you're going to be able to look at him again. It's because he is so desperate to get back to college. Well, that's what I was getting to say. And then when he's done this year, he don't have any more responsibility. Does he go back into NFL draft? Of course he will because he's got no way else to go. He can't go back. See, that's messed up all the way around. You get the opportunity to get an NFL draft twice, which you always dreamed for.
Wow. I like it. I hope sensibility reigns over the stupidity of this judge. And I know what I would say. And I don't know the guy. I don't care to know him. Say in Texas for goodness sake. All right. Well, this game 730 Saturday night at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Again, LSU is favored by a 10 and a half in this game. So, and the over under as far as points is 50.5. I got blows. It's not the pink pin. Well, you ain't got to worry about the paint. It's the show's the roof. All right. A year ago, South Carolina struggled against Virginia Tech. If you remember that, they won the first four games, right? And then the losing streak started after that. This time they open up with Kent State. And, you know, South Carolina has got a lot of questions that people are saying.
And we've said it as well that they've got a new offensive coordinator knows what he's doing. They've got a decent offensive line coach has brought in some really good guys in the process of all of this. The fact is too that you're going to be playing in 95, 96 degree heat with the heat index of what 117, I think is what I saw something like that. But it will be on the SEC network at Williams-Brice Stadium. So you do have them at home. And Kent State is kind of the whipping boy, I guess you would say, for all opening games. They haven't won an opening game when I went back and looked, I think 12 years as the losses. They're going to get paid. That really matters. I saw you looking at right now. If you Kent State, you won't win, but you're looking at the dollar sign right now. They probably going to get paid about a million dollars. What did they go like? They were almost 500 last year.
They were five and seven. I think last year. Yeah, that's right. I was Carnie's first year. Mark Carnie's got her here. The one thing I do know about Kent State is they got a quarterback, Lightland North Sellers, but his name is The Shields, I don't remember. But he's basically, I would say, he's the North's mirror. I know he can run for touchdown, he can throw for touchdown. So he could be a good game if he could get going. I just don't know how they're going to run the ball against. Our defense should be formidable this year. I will say this especially in this game. Now, do I think we cover, and we'll get into chaos a little bit, do I think we cover that spread? Probably not. Probably not. Well, that kind of corporate use is give us problems. That's what I'm saying. We put it good against the dropback bowser for defense, but when we got one and conscrime one and throw the ball, we don't fare too well. We might win the ball game, but we don't fare too well by stopping him.
I mean, no, our defense have been on the field 80 yards. We need to, I mean, I don't remember his stats, but I know he had like 30 touchdown passes. But I think he did a lot of peace, too. And I just don't remember running back, and I don't see it on here because I tried to find the Kent State. The realist Clark, I think, or see the wide receiver. He might well, I like the name. He's one of the players. He's one of the playmakers there that drew to shields has been nature receiver. I'm pretty sure I like that name. I like it. Yeah, but you're right. The shields is a lot like sellers is in a lot of ways, just a big mobile quarterback that can run around. You know, aren't a lot of working parts that we work Kent State's reworking their offensive line. They pulled a bunch of folks out of the transfer portal in all of that. So they're trying to find something that's going to work somewhere some way in all of this doubtful that Dylan Stewart will play on defense. Now he's not for the game cox sounds of right now.
I keep him out and let him go ahead and make sure he's healthy because in a couple of weeks, you've got a bigger game that you're going to need. Yeah, I wouldn't play that way. That's the key. I don't know that we play him until it does kind of miss the best state or even maybe the week after you can't take a risk on losing in all American. I don't leave it at all. He's also got to play enough games to qualify for the status, but you can't risk it in this game the next week. I just don't see it. You got to win the games, but I don't think you risk it. I wouldn't play him till. Mississippi State and if we don't need him then I probably wouldn't pay him in. But I hope he don't turn to David on clown in last year. That's what worries me about the fact that he is sitting. He's not, he realizes, you know what, they're on. They don't want to blame me. I need to get my numbers out there. I'm making this money. So at least it doesn't have to worry about because he's getting his check. I mean, it's not like he's not getting his check. Now toward the end, when they start wanting to sit out themselves, that's when I'm saying he coaches all the bid to pull the checks back to.
So I'm not forward. But if he's got a hurt back and it's legit and it is, it's not like an injury. He came up with himself. It's legit back injury. I'll tell you. Well, I guess what I was questioning is how long is he going to take that back? They said it was just a crack. Vertebrae or something in his back or some crack bone. He was crack bone. He was crack bone. How long was that going to take the heel? I mean, he had, I don't know. I mean, he had surgery. For one, I said he had surgery. Was frame practice before? I think he had surgery before. Before frame practice? Oh, shortly thereafter. I mean, how long did it take for that bone to heal? You're taking about six weeks. Now, I understand you don't want to put him out there in the fire. I understand that point. But I mean, how much longer you keep him out? I think he's going through some drills. I think they let him go through some drills. He's just not having contact right now. Right. He's definitely going to be there. And to me, that would be the biggest concern for me. It's in shape. You put him out there out of shape. He's going to get hurt.
So you find a double S sword here. So just along with peak, you got to keep him in. He's got to do something that's staying in shape. Peach got to stay. You're right, because I was one thing he struggled with at NC State. His whole career was that weight and just here being in shape to play football. And I went to his head coach. He's a great coach and daydoring. But anyway, not especially. I mean, I've seen players being registered to cover their out of shape. Now what, you know what? I mean, seriously. Come back out of shape. Yeah. Peach definitely. I wanted to. I worry more about pees and I do deal with him. Because I can see like you just, you brought up a name that you want to be synonymous with Carolina football. You think about the Michigan hit in the day being county, but also him actually asking the defense of coordinator at the time, which also was one of the coaches. Can I take third down off? Can you put somebody else in that? I don't want to play. I don't want to do that. I want to play three quarters, two quarters.
And then he was making all this money. You don't want it. That's when I'm saying the money in the NALs makes lazy players. And today being is one of the best ones to look at because he's still got a career going. And for me, that's amazing that he's going back to the Texans. Yeah, but you look at his career. It can never stay with one team. Because if you watch him play and he's gotten better over the years, but if you watch him play, he takes plays off. He takes plays off every year. Period. I love just, like I said, he's got the biggest hit in Carolina history probably. And I'd like for Dylan Stewart to come along this year at some point in time and break that and just take another hell when all somebody said. I mean, I like the motors, but like I said, it's not, we talk about all time. To me, I think that times players are just lazier than they used to be. And I hate you. I don't use that in high school because I never going to do that with them. But it's like, as soon as they start drawing that money for Lauderdale, something that man, I don't want to play the third down every series.
Can you put somebody right there? Let's see how good this guy really is, Tom Kerr. Can you belong at a year eligibility level, quarterback? I don't want to play this series for all you going in. And for Lauderdale, I'll take my job again. And I think again, when they hit, you can say what you want to, but bring hit is these sports guys saying, he's going to be the number one draft pick. He's looking at it. I mean, he's listening. He's saying, well, I don't need to get hurt here because I'm projecting number one. And you can't sit in and tell me they don't look at that. They don't, they don't, they don't, they don't even their mind. And so I hope, and I know they've heard Dylan Stewart, all American candidate, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, first round draft. You can't sit in and tell me he ain't heard that. Now, I know he wants to play, but like I said, you making that money, he ain't worried about it. But you better get him in shape. Oh, he's going to get hurt again. Well, he played like I used to would do. I mean, I'm not getting make a year or two sooner, just so I can, our game with two
sooner, so I can hold on to that number one draft. Yeah, no. I'm going to sit back and I'm going to sit in the air condition and draw my check. So I just don't like that aspect to football the way it's turned now because it's not about the game anymore. It's about me. So. But what I am interested is the offense of how, how well the offense line does this week. It don't matter who you play, the offense line's got to play well. And that's the key. So I want to, I want to see that. And you know, I want to get us. Carolina is notorious for letting teams like this hang around about the fourth quarter. And it had to fans just nervous in the seats and stuff, they had the torrents for it. And if you're a Carolina fan out there, you know exactly what I'm talking about. A team, you're supposed to win by 50, but you're in a sweatin' it out of the end, win in by three or by seven because you just, that's you. I mean, that's just South Carolina football. I want to see if they got, they've been able to put somebody away early.
South Carolina also has a winning record when they score, when they score, when they run for over 115 yards. They can get over 115 yards. They've pretty much got this game in the bag. And then that goes for any game that they, that, you know, going back when I think five years is what Stant said that I saw. So if you can get 115 yards, they should be able to get 200 yards. If not more against this team though, I would think. I think the Norse can get it 100 by himself. I think he could too. But I also want the Norse to get 300 by himself too. They got four Xs running back. They do. The room's good. I mean, they, that running back room is loaded up. Receivers loaded? Yeah, I mean, we lost two to two, but we loaded there. I mean, I, I mean, if I could say that. I'm still worried about spread, but anyway, where it is? Yeah. Got a win game won. Yeah, college football news is kind of going along with the same lines that, that Kenny is going to. Their biggest question is, can the offensive line play be night and day better than it was last year that was in there? Also their best case and worst case scenario.
Can they make the college football playoffs being their best case scenario? The worst losing season, everybody's fired. I say, let's go open whatever it is you're doing. I don't want anybody fired. Like I said, we, we, we brought extra eight million dollars in to help one man save his seven million dollar job. So I think we need to win. And I guess I'll say to Kenny, I will say this, we can, we can make a bowl game this year in that conference that I don't care about. I think they've done their job. I will say that. I know I can say Bimmer, I'm going to say they, because like I said, we can, we brought in three guys to save one man's job. So I, Kendall Braille knows that the line coach knows it, Clayton White knows it, and he's probably wanting that job to be honest with you, deep into coordinator. Okay, I was probably wanting that job because he reminds me of Charlie Strong. I don't mind saying it. But you got to win this game. I mean, you come out and you have a flat game here, Flo. I'm not going to be nice next year. I'm not nice this year, but I need, like I said, I need 50 probably.
Maybe when, when I need a, I need a blanket and a shillacking. So I mean, you go out and you beat this team 21 to 7, you ain't done nothing. Somebody of you ain't done nothing. You know, somebody, I was watching Kendall Braille's press conference other day, and somebody asking, you know, Kendall, would you, would you reputate anything we put fit down the board? Kendall goes, I just want to win. They get a nose again. My job is to win. Yeah. But he knows his offense is all sort of put points. Yeah, but, um, and we might not be back. You know, the win, you got to put points in the back. Like Tom said, man, we've seen his last three quarter or two quarterbacks. I mean, it's too coordinated as it is word with. I mean, now we got to wait till watching the end of the play football issue because I said, stood in Hoover that is the start quarterback in Indiana. So we'll see how great he is. So last year and the year before South Carolina's had trouble in the fourth quarter, a opponent of outscore them 83 to 35. So I, this should be no problem whatsoever. The problem again outscored this one as well because we'll have third, fourth string
in, I think by the time the fourth quarter rolls around. For future use, future use, just keep that stat in mind when we get to the Texas A&M game for one or Alabama that's coming up here rather soon to you. Hello, I would say you started. You got to complete. You got to make adjustments to like Kenny's always say, I mean, make adjustments. The other thing is can they convert on third down? They were 125th in college football and third down conversions last year, 31.9%. So that's got to improve in that running game and that new offensive line is what's going to improve that. Beaver's got that circle. That's first thing probably on Beaver's sheet is that right there where the improvement has to be from worse to first. And he's probably going to make that the middle, the middle focus all year long, especially when we get into the conference play. That's probably one thing you look at say, we could have won these games last year, it takes the day in and we should have won out one. Should have beat Alabama. Yeah, I mean, that's where he's going to focus on and that's where you do that's where improvements have to be made. I mean, should have beat them 210th, had it been 6th, had it had 6 wins.
And Alabama one again, that. Okay. Another thing that worries me as of right now with Shane Beamer is he is not released to Dept chart whatsoever. It says it's not a game, gamesmanship thing. He's just not going to do it and you won't be able to, you'll see who the starters are, Kenny, when you're in there watching them warm up on Saturday. That's who you'll be. Title of the starters are going to be. No starting kicker has been named as of yet. According to Beamer, they're still competing. Well, I read a few minutes ago, they added a kicker from Houston. Yeah. Big leg too, by the way. But again, you're bringing another guy in to compete with guys that have been fighting all summer for a fight and then, oh, look at this guy. He ain't going to make that team. We ain't going to come in. And that to me is a problem. I mean, I get, I really do get the coaches don't want to depth chart out there because they want to be especially in LHU cleansing game. I'm probably going to put everybody out there either and make them wonder what happened to that punt returners. He back, he's a hurt, cold turner, so I was a receiver.
He's practicing with the team, but will he play? Tom and cold turn on play tomorrow. There's a problem in that game. If he's already practicing with the team, he best be playing. Now, I don't want you to know what. But does the opposing coach really need a depth coach? No. I mean, he don't really need one. Well, they said they watched him on tape. You know, he's going to play and who's back. You practice your game. Exactly. Don't worry about what that team does. Exactly. You do what you supposed to do. You ain't got worry about no depth chart. You'll adjust as it goes. I still say if you don't know, you didn't. That's pretty late. You're not to know who you're going to have. It's a second team running back on four down or two, second, third down or whatever. You got to know that in your own heads. Now, we don't have that in our own heads. It, yeah. We behind A-Ball. And I felt like that's how BT went last year. Behind A-Ball first half. I mean, anything about Bryant, though, is he going to let the quarterback do what he does best and that's run the football when he needs to?
Because remember, sellers, his freshman year, it was basically he had what, one, two looks, and then he was told to run. Or he decided he was going to run. You know, he'd look at last year and they basically kept him in the pocket the whole time and told him he needed to throw the ball and make good decisions. And that was Mike Chula. Not with Chula. I was just thinking, he said, that's Mike Chula that said, I think, and again, I mean, I, I think you're a new coordinate to come in. You look at that quarterback and see what he's best at. And if he's best on getting blitz on third down, they're going to bring it nine times I-10. You got to let him know if you see the safety stuff up, you see the corner and you know their blitz and you. I don't care if you got a 300, I mean, a 30-yard pass out in the flat or not. If you got 40 yards, that way you take it. Instead of trying to complete a 30-yard pass to the outs, do what's best for you as far as the Llanores sellers. And I mean, it could be first game. They could come in Llanores to first play at a game and he could break it for 70, right on one play instead of throwing it.
But now I think with Chula, you're right. He wanted to see the passing yards. He wanted to see the completions. He was trying to make him overall a better quarterback for that. I think Rob is the one who used the best player for what he needs done. He always has. Well, he comes out, actually said that. Somebody asked him that same question and he comes out and said, we're going to do whatever is best for our quarterback and what he does best. And if he-and me personally, I think, you know, sellers throw his ball better on the run when they sprint him out. No, he throw a great deep ball. I mean, he's got one of the best deep balls out there. But short, 15 yards though. He needs to work on 15, 20 yards past. He needs to work on them. But I think he throws in ball better when he's on the run. And mentality. I don't think he needs to remember fix if he's trying one on one open plays and you know, they picked the ball up. He let it roll off his shoulder. The question, I'm going to talk about the U-turn, Carol. What do you want to see him do this year? Because I remember, regular remember, a clumpsing game several years ago that he looked like
an NFL quarterback running the football against a really good defense in clumpsing. But when he plays clumpsing, I want him to get sacked a lot. Yeah. That's what I'm pushing. You're in a lot of penalties and complete passes, things with that nature. There you go. But the rest is, yeah, I want him to play like he was capable of playing at South Florence. I want him to play with his hair on fire and do what he does. You brought up another good point though. You just brought up on a name, think about this game. Two targets are going to be out. Once his brother, who is a big target target for him in his mindset. That's why again, if he looks up, he doesn't. I see Jator's making the cut in this. It's Mario and the rest of these guys are been in and the rest of those guys doing it. It's not Mario. I mean, his brother, Jaden, that's what I think you're going to see. Oh, man, where's J. Oh, he's not here. I'm gone. And I'm thinking the way that could be a good thing to you. It could be a positive because, but again, I will say this. I think this is definitely a year. The Nick Harbour's got to step up in any capacity whatsoever as a player.
And I still think that's going to be the tie-down slot. It's going to be best for him coming off as far as getting played. Now you want to send him on a fly against a freshman cornerback at Clemson or wherever. I don't mind you doing that because I know Nick Harbour has got to speed probably to blow by him. So I think Nick Harbour is the other name that we have it talked about this year. It's got to step up to the plate and have a big game first game. I think you'll see a lot of RPOs. I agree this year. Run past. I thought I really started. I really think you're going to give an option to pass it and you run it. Or vice versa. You're going to see a lot of that this year. And I like that with him. I got to change my mentality because we call them don't passes and screens back in the day. But I agree. RPOs what it put balls about now. You don't hear like, oh man, he's got one of the best Korean passes. One of the don't passes in the game. He's just, he is a great RPO quarterback. So run pass option, it means a lot. And like I said, this game is going to be like our season is going.
This first game is going to be no more important than the last game. That could be depending on a lot more than the last game. Depending on what we can do this first. First three games ought to be, I'm not going to see Kate walk until I don't want to do that. But we should win the first two fairly easy. And then I like Jeff Levy and Miss Jimmy Stable. It's a game we shouldn't win also. I stand on the road. One of the one thing I think we need to is get ahead and get a big lead on both of these games coming up and get our starters out of there. Because we can't afford to get anybody heard. I agree with that. I agree with that. And it gives you an opportunity to get some of these young guys in there and let them get some playing time because you want to depend on them sometimes. They want to play. So that's from, I think that's the key to the game too. Do not get anybody. Keep everybody healthy. Keep everybody healthy. Get them out of the game. Clemson don't have that. Clemson don't have that luxury.
They got LHG. You got to play. That's only bad part. They got to play. But in a way, I think I still look it back. And you know, in the past, especially when Stan was over there, we were, we were talking about like Clemson's starting out with a Kent State. And I was always a full-pop for Stan, especially was like, now you're not starting with Kent State. And I was like, she wishes your hardest game. Probably what? First three games you played as your toughest game and you already got it out of the way. I mean, that just says a lot too. You just don't want to get, again, in your game. What happens if a scene he goes down? My quarterback is going to get a shot in. Percent of gets. And he may not let go of it. I'm just not sure if a scene is your best option in quarterback. All right. Well, this is a 12 45 game on Saturday at Williams-Briest Stadium. So it's going to be hotter. It'll be on the SEC network if you're looking for it. Here's what Shane Beamer had to say yesterday about his season opener versus Kent State. As we get into game week, just wrapping up last week, had a good finish to our mock game
week, practice schedule last week. I saw you guys what on Tuesday, so good work on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We had our situational practice over in the stadium on Friday afternoon. Got a lot of plays run in that on Friday of this every situation you can think of. Think of on offense and defense and special teams that comes up in a game. So really good for me as the head coach, really good for all of our coaches to be able to go through that. Our team and talk about all the situations that could come up and making sure that we're prepared for them. Everybody had the weekend off. Players, coaches, staff. It's been a long month of August. It's the coaches last day off until, I guess, the Saturday. Of the, of the by week, if they're not out recruiting at a game on Saturday. So wanted everybody to have that day on Saturday. And then everybody was back in here on Sunday to get back to work and full speed ahead on Kent State. So off to a good start from that, from that aspect of it over the weekend.
Some big time wins by our sports team. I was unfortunately not at soccer on Friday night, but was dialed in and watched it on television. So what a win for our soccer team over our rival on the upstate for the first time since 2014. So super excited for Tony and his team. And I know they've got another big match this Thursday on the road up at Charlotte. Another good weekend for women's soccer with a pair of road wins last week. They're back at home on Sunday night coming up against college at Charleston and they've all evolved to a great start to an O. And so far, really good year for our fall sports and great to have two wins over the rivals in the upstate to kick the year off so far and certainly need to need to keep that going. Again, a lot of excitement this weekend. New stadium or renovated stadium. Excited for the fans to get in there and see that. Players, coaches, everybody. Certainly, as we're encouraging recruits, get here early.
We know we're going to have 80,000 people all coming in here about the same time on Saturday morning. So make sure everybody gets plenty of time for traffic. Hopefully traffic flow and all that is better than ever this year along with the stadium enhancements. But it's going to be a great Saturday afternoon and Williams Brice. And need everybody in there early from an injury update. Peek and store will not play this week. They are getting closer. Wanted to see what they did in practice this morning and they were able to do a little bit more. But won't quite be there. Aren't quite there yet. I'm familiar with him. He's spent some time coaching in the state of Virginia where I was obviously grew up and played and spent some time at as a coach. He was actually on the staff at Charlotte when we played them back in 2022. So he's been in this stadium, but he's done a great job in a short period of time. Two years span, a couple years ago, where Kent State won one game over two years. He was named the head coach last spring and immediately in year one, he got on the five
wins. And three of those losses were to Florida State, Texas Tech and Oklahoma last season. So they had a winning record overall outside of those games against those other three teams. They certainly will be coming in here with a lot of confidence based on the season that they had and the people that they are returning quarterbacks, athletic God that does a great job of protecting the football. 21 touchdowns last year to three interceptions. So when you got that kind of turnover ratio touchdown interceptions, that's really, really good. They've got size at the linebacker position. I think the top linebackers average like 6, 3, 2, 30. So they've got some size at the linebacker position. They're disruptive what they do is scheme wise and then they've got two returners that can flat out get it. Kick returner took two back for touchdowns. He's a preseason all-american. Five touchdown returns in his career. They do different things with him. He's thrown a reverse pass for a fake punt last season. Their punt returner has returned points for touchdowns.
So that's an aspect of it that they're really good and we better be good on Saturday too. But it's been a long month going against each other. It's been a long, what, eight months now since we started in January of just practicing and preparing against ourselves. So to finally be able to get out there in that stadium in front of our fans on Saturday, we are counting down the days to it and looking forward to seeing everybody at 1245 on Saturday. So there you have Shane Beamer in his press conference. He previewed and got ready for Kent State and Shane on that man for not being able to say the name of his rival, Clemson Tigers. I'm just going to say it right there. He doesn't know how to pronounce it. That's why he says it the way he says it. Clemson. He says. Does he? I don't know why I'll leave the Z out every time. He's a Steve Spurrier disciple. Steve Spurrier always did that. Clemson. Who is the one who has finished? He came up with that one. Clemson, who was the one who did it? I don't remember who started. It's one of the older guys, but like I said, I like it every time I hear it.
But, well, all again, here we are. We're looking at it. He's talking about all the pressure all the time because the other teams have beaten Clemson and the other sports. They're starting to fall seasons off right. I think he's just trying again to say, look, look at how great they've done in case we kind of fought for a little bit down the road that at least I gave him, like he called Tony out. Tony had been called out and ever in Carolina. The way no one knows who he is. He's your soccer coach. You should know that guy. I mean, for him to say it, that means he's more worried about the other ball teams than he is his own. And when he did that flow, I did. And now flow ain't with me today. I don't know what the girls call here. It's green, I don't know. But green would envy me. She wanted me to put it on here. And it is on here because we've talked about spread. But I got eight already and that would give me nine. So if I see another one, I know, I think that's a high spread even for Kent State. Because I can say that he knows the coach. This is a liner against one of his friends again if you're looking at it.
He knows what he did and I'm more impressed now with what he said. Kent State. I mean, Texas Tech. Who was it that was a Texas Tech? He just called the three teams they played with them. We're in every one of those games. If you put them not many points against Texas Tech, you can put up 36 and a half against the game, guys. I feel sure. I don't have a big twerid on playing on defense, man. I know. I just got to see I defense first, but they can hold it. And now next year, next week, we talking about whatever points spread against somebody else. I got to see the first week first. But luckily that's out of my eight, their number nine. I will say they're on the list, but I got a K. I'll see you other teams to worry about other night games. I mean, I'll say this. Carol, they got athletes on defense. They do. They got some stunts. Some stunts of athletes on defense. So we'll see what happens. Even in the secondary, even though they lost something last year, we got some, we got they young, but they athletes.
They won't hit us too. And they going to be good. I don't like the fact that some, we got two or three can pick any ball off of you. They got a touch to get the ball. They don't need to, you don't need that little bit of air if you got that right there. So you utilize your talent, your speed, no penalties. I mean, let's do it. Play solid 100% defense, man, no penalties. And I need to, you need to see that because I promise you can't state it's going to need to play Pinto T free football if they got a chance even in this game. And I don't think they do it. But hopefully we get a win time. I saw them will say it's Jane Beamer. So I don't know. I've got more confidence than I do. But for a long time, he's got a chance this time. First three games to get back toward Mustchump as much as we hated him as a coach, Shane needs these three games to get closer to the win loss because they're close. And they probably shouldn't be because Trump did a lot of bad negative things. And Beamer is doing things in your way to right way. So they shouldn't be close to win loss.
But they close. I keep up with things like that because I remember at the time I had a license and I drove that bus and Mustchump was in the back and I had them put the chain lock on the back door. He wasn't getting back off. And we got him out of Columbia. So he made him one one and then he did it Columbia though. We'll see that. He's still on his household well on the island. You know, he got, he's consulted, didn't he? Yeah, because he bought one of the ones that Lou had and then went, uh, Miss Beth passed away. Lou got rid of it. And so I think Beamer bought it. I mean, I think I saw what was for sale last last summer. You don't, you know, down on like murder. Yeah. Yeah. The island. The island that basically would be is probably by the man I can say, you better, you win that chair. Are you going to be for sale? Well, Kenny's been hydrating all week because you're going to be out in the sun. 1245 kickoff at Williams, Bryce Stadium. Uh, be on the SEC network. Kent State coming in to take on the game cocks. Let me refresh what you just said.
I know on good authority that that man will be in a booth. Well, I know. I just want to get to say it. Now, my question to him is, he'll be hydrating the different way. He's hydrating for 96 because he will be in the stands Friday night. We'll be in the stands tomorrow. So that's what he's hydrating for this week. But he will, the man and a prox man, you get to go there with Todd and him. See what's going on. You get to check out the new deals, the man, the new elevators and how the, what else will we excite about the, uh, the bathrooms or expand it? Bathroom, you said stand where you check out your own, yourself, you put your stuff right in it, checks out yourself. That's going to be nice. And all you do is a booth, you know, of course, I don't have to do that. I'm being a booth. I'll be able to eat in any way. You know, I got a sprint. You don't have a sprint. Listen, I'll take, listen, I'm fully taking advantage of it. I don't blame you, dude. I don't blame you. All right. We're in Howard's on main and uptown Greenwood. We invite you to come on by and enjoy some of the great food that they've got. Of course, today they got a twice baked potato with a ribeye steak sandwich.
You're not going to want to miss out on that key note. My twice baked potato right there. So you want to, I'm not telling everybody, I'm hungry. I'm not doing peace every time I'm talking about twice. It's good. They got breakfast items here as well. If you're looking for catering services, there's no better man to get the job done for whatever event or family gathering that you have, you can cover all of that for you. You better start, like I said, start getting to doing because we're into September now. When do we need to Thanksgiving stuff done by when you need to catering stuff for Thanksgiving Christmas now? Yeah, that's what we're saying every week. We say, man, you got to call and live now right now. So you get busy. It gets busy. Come on mind and go ahead and get your name on the calendar for all of that. To post and join some of the great food and the great staff that they've got here as well, it's Howard's on main and uptown Greenwood. I got him a salad. Well, I was going to get a twice baked potato and ribeye steak sandwich. So he got to try that one. Yeah. I don't know if he's going to come out tonight, isn't here. He usually gives us the leftover twice baked. No, but he's usually there gone. There you go.
So when it does happen. There you go. All right. We're getting ready to talk high school. Before we do that, there's only one person that will interrupt all of that and we'll get him to come on here. This is Willie's winners on the Lakeland sports guys. Yeah, sports junkies. I'm feeling under the weather this week. But wow, but at night, it was just past Friday with all the storms coming through the area. We got the games in. Also want to say prayers to Christopher Dean running back for Emerald for his speedy recovery. I went to him four last week. I now have no backside left. So I'm now six and eight on the season, which is a 42 percent winning percentage so far. One of the minor endophanes will be any better. Now for Willie's winners, L'OE 3, Lakeland's top 10. Number 10. Carhome Falls Flashes. Number nine. Carhome T-Sh. Number eight. The Mure Shoes Purple Hornets. Number 70 Dixie Green Hornets. Number six. The Iberville Pampers. Number five.
Greenwood Eagles. Number four. 96 Wildcats. Number three. The Schliedertigers. Number two. Greenwood Christian Holtz. Number one. Emerald Vikings. This week's games. 96 Wildcats at Wagner's Sally Warriors. The Wildcats go strolling down to the southern part of the Middle East and to Aiken County, to the wonderful town of Wagner's Sally. The Eagles don't like strangers coming to their town, trying to steal their chitlins. Even though that's some good find grew up. Well, the war Eagles be able to hold back the Wildcats. Willie's winner. 96. Fots Creek Predators at Dixie Green Hornets. The Predators come up from North Augusta into the nest of the Green Hornets. Reds Creek's armor will be too much for the younger but feisty jackets. Willie's winner. Fox Creek. Kahung Falls Blue Flashes at Greenwood Christian Holtz. The Blue Flashes leave the shores of the Savannah River all charged up and ready to strike
the fast flying hawks down. With these hawks away faster than these flashes, you imagine. Willie's winner. Greenwood Christian. Abigail Panthers at Crescent Tigers. The Panthers don't get a break for the third week in a row as they stroll over to Iowa to take on the big Tigers of Crescent. Can the Panthers get these stripes off these tigers like they did earlier against the Tigers of Sluder? Are these Tigers be able to take the Panthers' claws just like strong thurmin' did? Willie's winner. Abigail. Greenwood Eagles at North Augusta Yellow Jackets. The Eagles go soaring down towards the Savannah River that end up flying into hostile territory that is known to be Yellow Jackets territory. After a lot of buzzing around the Ponderosa for a few hours, their finally is a victor. Will Lee's winner? Greenwood. The Sluder Tigers at Batesburg leaves the Panthers.
After the beating the Tigers got two weeks ago to the Pals of Abigail, they go over to the Panthers' country in Batesburg, Liesville to see who goes first in line as she leaves barbecue afterwards. Will Lee's winner? Sluder. Our school game of the week. Emerald Vikings at Woodruff, Wolverines. The Vikings venture out into the woods of Woodruff looking for some fur for the upcoming winner months and come across some mean and nasty Wolverines. Do the Vikings have enough weapons to get fur from these Wolverines? Will Lee's winner? Woodruff. This week's college games. Kent State Golden flashes at South Carolina Game Cots. Carolina fans were flashback to 1995 when the King Cots won 77-14. Will Lee's winner? South Carolina. Climpsons Tigers at number 11 LSU Tigers. The orange pants wearing tires go down to Death Valley, looking for revenge from last
years to tell with them they received from the yellow pants wearing tires. When the sun sets it will go down and only one big cat will be the King of Death Valley. Will it be the orange cats or the yellow cats? Will Lee's winner? Climpsons. College Game of the Week. Number 9 Ole Miss against number 24 Louisville from Nashville, Tennessee. The rebels go running up to Nissan Stadium to get rid of the carnels of Louisville, where the carnels be able to escape by jumping into a Nissan Titan or where the rebels be able to catch them in a Nissan 370Z. Will Lee's winner Ole Miss. That's his sweet schemes. Remember to get out there, support your school, the cheerleaders, the bands and the concessions. Time for me to scatter out of here and head to Columbia and Chesapeake for the weekend. Give me a bite of here. Alright, there you have Will Lee's winners and his choices already and Chris is marking them down because we got Chris's chaos coming up later. You didn't want to have any of the same ones that Will Lee had, so.
Say number games, but I don't like it said I didn't. I know we had early, but I don't listen to him until the end. Like you say, here's the same time. We hit every weekend. This needs to probably be a two hour show, to be honest with you. We're approaching that right now. What I'm saying, we missed permanent Tennessee, which you might hear on chaos because that's a big spread. Boys you say organs are big spread. PC Mercer is a good sized spread. We're not even talking about half the games in the SEC, and because we don't have time. So like I said, one of the games I'm going to look for, I thought Will Lee might have put on here was Coastal Carolina, West Virginia. But New Code, he doesn't know what they're going to have down at Coastal either. I mean, BTV and I, I can promise you that's chaos for me. Pull out. I can just go and tell you that's chaotic because of James Franklin. But Will Lee's got it right. He's going to be dorsaguss and then he's going to hit 26. I reckon he had an attestipete. So we won't get nothing from Will's winter and no cheese to this week, Tom Carroll.
He probably won't come home or cheese. It's a Saturday weekend. So well, he may have that all too then. He might have it all. But anyway, I like it. He's getting better at it. I'm stunned. I won't say this, Will Lee. I love what you did. I mean, you did what I didn't have to, because who needs to do and I didn't pick Clemson. He picked them straight up to Wampellow. And he don't like them. My base for Lee's bill, Salud. I think my base for Lee's bill is a little bit stronger than Salud had this year. But like I said, I mean, fighting for laws. He'd be foolish not to take the fighting for laws at 96. I'm just saying. I think cats are playing pretty good. But like I said, he's Emmer Woodruff. I mean, he said he didn't say enough last week. Damn, I saw 70 points on this cold board. What more does it really need to see? I mean, Anna Woodruff team is reeling for law. Well, you know, last two years, Emmer was got out of the big leagues against Woodruff there. And then, last year, we were at that game, Tom Ewanis. And let them come back and win.
So I made the favor of Emmer on that game. I did do it. And let's say just fall apart. Well, they got more things to play for now. That's Chris Dane. Amen. There you go. That is very true. So. I mean, I look at that. I'm shot by a server with a bit of pigs. I mean, he doesn't like the lakelands. I mean, you don't always pick the lakelands, but the feed, again, the big Abbeyville and I have a high school. I mean, I wouldn't be honest with everyone's probably not having a big crisis. Well, I mean, because they see it, you know, I can see that happening. Now, do I want it to happen? Probably not, but I mean, and that's what I would have sprung if it did. Lot of street beating Dixie. Oh, wow. Well, I'm going to tell you, Dixie's, I think Dixie's got some issues. They're going to have to work out. Of course, you know, everybody doesn't look at that Greenwood Christian game being Dixie. And the Christian guy got good football team. So I mean, don't sell them short.
But Dixie, they need to battle the one A's for a while. I'm keeping it right here. Dixie and Warshall, we're playing. Keeping it. Greenwood Christian and one A. They got to figure some things out. Well, like I said, there are so many huge games that we're not even going to touch. I don't have a spread on Cambridge Academy and Community Christian. I don't even know where Community Christian is at. It could be in North Carolina, fall. I know the way the Schesal works. It's all about Adams Deans at Warshall's this weekend. It's 13, by the way. Okay. Well, I mean, then you got Adams Deans and that's probably one that'll be chaotic. BHPGL, man. I mean, there's so many games where I, like I said, Hookress at Fountain Inn who started it slow, and a white nose going to be a blast. I mean, there's just so many games that are leaving out. So I thought Christian Lawrence, I know for all follows the Raiders, that we're just not going to even talk about one that I will go ahead and give you a hint. There is chaos at Spartanburg this weekend. I will say that. Farbury has an interesting home game this weekend.
And they do. That's right. They're getting 22 points at home. So Tom Knight, you better go to load up a couple more points to, I mean, I don't think there's a doubt in my mind. You can win by 22. I don't think you will win by 22. Because I think, you know, with the running back, probably you're going to be back, you won't be 100. But a 70% of him, what's the name, Trenton Rich? What's his name? I'm not sure. That's Farbury. Trenton. That's it. So with him, 70% I mean, that's still pretty good. This Spartanburg team is pretty good. And I'm not saying they're Dutch for good, but Dutch for it never has test light this early in the year. Now, you'd play Greenwood. You know, we were the, what the second or third game a couple of times. We should have beat them then. But I mean, it should be fun, man. But like I say, well, he's doing a good job. I just, I hate to admit all the things we don't even talk about around here because they're not like, you know, six and eight. How is that a good job? No, but Tom, he's going in the direction that I should be going in. So he's playing more Chris's chaos than anybody else.
It's actually flipped around. My chaos is like winning this thing. And like I said, I just want to go back and look. And unfortunately, Palau can't state will be in chaos this week with the points for it. So we'll get that at the end of it. Yes, sir. And so it will be a lot of fun. One game that you did mention that I really like is the South Point Lake Wiley game. Yeah. Lake Wiley is a first year program right into 5a. They go. South Point is given 24 points on all this. This game is going to be a little heck of a lot closer than that. I totally agree that the head coach is like I said from Lake Wiley's. I think he's a graduate of the South Point to be honest. So we'll see what happens. That's one to keep your eye on. That's there. But Daniel Poundersville is also going to be another one of those games. I think that'll be a lot of fun here in the upstate. What about your team? Summeter? No, no, the Western. They get a home game this week. They do get a home game, but it didn't anything to brag about.
It's trappers. So I was not bad this year. But not bad. So I do like the fact that you're seeing a lot of the upstate teams play the lower state teams and their non-region schedule. So that is fun to watch. Greenville does have a big game. They're playing a team called Peach Tree Ridge that is out of Swany, Georgia. I always want to sing the song when I say that. But that's a lot of fun. Try to sing it. The thing. But yeah, this should be. And this is a toss for me. Both these teams, Greenville down this year, Peach Tree is more of a one-two-a team out of Swany. So we'll see what happens with that. Well, he said he's a lead. I just kind of want to acknowledge some of these games because I got another Barmer will even with this from James Island at Grand Collegiate. That can be a Barmer or two. Now tell me about your Summeter Blue Game Cox purple field or whatever you want. Blue and Soul. Blue and Soul. So they got hit the Bruins. I mean, Blue and Greenville have who?
I don't even remember who they have. I didn't market because I didn't think it was anybody significant. Oh, they've got West Florence. There you go. I put it down. Here's one of that shall both. Being the OC Collegiate guy that I am, Ridgeview comes Ocean Collegiate. Can the Sandshars get a win this week against a really good Ridgeview team? They can. They can. Four or three weeks, they're going to start out with powerhouses. They can, but will they? I don't know, probably. It's going to say it, man. Summeter Blue West short. Now West short, some of those are going to be pretty good games. But all in all, like I said, that's a ton of different games. If we all met your school, your school was because we don't have time. I'm just being honest with you. I wouldn't have Monday, but I'm going to tell you a game this past weekend. I was really shocked that it was a score. And that was Daniel and BHP. We did. We brought that one up, yeah.
I saw almost that by the album. It was really shocked that you got to beat that bad. You got to shut out. You know, stone is a score point. Yeah. Stones are good coach. I don't like to tell like in the way I haven't done your last couple of years or the last year, but I give them credit. Something because BHP's a really good team. And that's why, like I said, they're right here. Even man, 25 points. I mean, you know, BHP's bounce back. You take your hat off the lawn last week. They had, they were right there with Clint. They should have won. They probably should have won. Last second, man. Wait a minute, last second, stuff. You know, that's soft to them. But they're getting better year in and year out. And it'll be a fun game this year at the end of the year with Greenwood and Lawrence. So rivalry could be back. Keep that from circled. I will tell you a hint. Willie doesn't. He's do. Doodles. You think he does? I know he does because he told me he had, the day when we were working at it, he told me, was that it's Dixie. He gave me this Fred of Dixie and, uh, it's 19.
They're giving past crew 19 points. So if I was Willie, I'd probably take past crew two, but he doesn't do points. And then again, our buddy is Tommy Fry. Modders coming to Westside. Ken Westside finally get off the tracks after they've had a ocean cycle each and type of your start to you. So I don't know if you saw the comment to Tommy Fry. But he said that they treated Dixie expected him by putting him in the stands at Jefferson City. I said, kind of like putting Tom Carroll on the roof at Westside Greenwood when it was 4 in the out rain. You in standing Willie. That was a game I couldn't do for law. I couldn't do it because I couldn't climb that ladder. So he just kind of put back. He said, yeah, but you don't like math later, I said, no, I don't. But he was trying to give Jefferson City the crowd up there. And I thought the fans were misty, you know, non-hospitable and stuff. And I'll never get over Westside Greenwood that year that y'all had to go by a tent to put your equipment under the tent. And what I will call a pretty good thunderstorm, the whole night Tom Carroll, to the point where I was really worried about standing falling off that ladder.
If he hadn't been a firefighter, he might would have. Anyway, you got to turn respect, you got to do it before you get it, though. I don't get on Tommy Price in my side area, but I will with that. All right, well, let's talk about some of the big games are going to be happening with Lakeland teams. It's kind of a toss up as to who the game of the week is going to be between Emeralds at Woodruff and Greenwood at North Augusta. When you look at it from there, let's start with Emeralds taking place and going up against Woodruff and this one because, you know, I will get to the Greenwood Wood. But before we get into that, I'm basically say, I, well, I'll get to it with the Greenwood. I'll, I'll, I'll, I can't survive. But you're looking at a two A team ranked third right now in the media poll is the Woodruff Wolverines. There are two and O Emeralds, of course, is 11th right now. Haven't quite broken the top 10 there too and O averaging 41 points a game. You know, from 21 to 41, thanks to the 70 points you scored last week.
So that's all you need. That's all you need to go with that. However, they are giving up basically 34, well, was it 17 points a game. Thanks to 34 points that Newberry put up last week in the process of that. With Christine going down, just puts, you know, the next guy up and that is going to be Joe Moore. Usam's score four touchdowns last week. Can Woodruff with their defense managed to, to corral him in the process and then you got to worry about does a ray Christian, the fact that he put up 183 points last week on what 70 catches. So, you know, that's a big factor, I think, as well that they're going to have to play there. The defense for Emerald, I think is what's going to have to tighten up. They're going to have to find a way to slow down some of these, you know, big running backs. I guess you would say that are there and they're passing game as well. When you look at Woodruff against the number nine rank fountain in Fury last week, they won 32 to 15.
And Woodruff forced five turnovers in that game, including three interceptions. He also took another big effort by having an offense that what managed a wide receiver that 19 catches for 277 yards and 33. Excuse me, three touchdowns that go along with it and that is their junior Christian bell or Curtis bell. So, I mean, that's who you're going to have to look at and see if they can defend him or not. You know, the first two games are averaging 138.5 points receiving. They've got a tight end in McCom, a kitchen that is right behind that wide receivers. Got 227 yards receiving a three touchdowns and Jalen Liles is a running back. I was talking about 266 yards through two games that he's got as of right now. Just a quick scat back that's able to hit holes and fight holes in that offensive line. 74 points last week.
Not again with anybody. No, it was against the number 14 or 13 into a new bearing. I think that this table just says like those sports guys, I think I'm not going to say the pressure. I just know that Tad thinks he's under a little bit of pressure and I'm really impressed because like I said, we talked about it Monday and this is the sprized thing about 70 for me, Kenny. This is a new coordinator. You got the old one. I'll sense your target. So he's coming in with a new coordinator and that was the most shocking game probably for me for the year. I go ahead and buy a day to think that number one, 70 to whatever it was, Kenny mindset, if you can score, if you realize you can score 30 a game, does that not change the mindset of your defense automatically? This should. That's what I'm saying should. But I don't want my defense giving up 35 points a game though. I agree. But against new bearing who we knew of it was going to score. Big offensive defensive fronts.
I 70 just stunned me. I mean it did and not only the fact of Dean hurt but Joe Moore is going to do his thing. He's a really Christian there so now you know you're going to use that receiver Moore and then bow height. Just looking for another good game passing the ball for bow height. I mean I think that said none. I know what you went last year. We were there. I saw it. They didn't make the changes they needed. I have a lot of got beat in home. But after last week I just think this is a whole mindset change for TA. I do think you did back in Abbeyville again. I really believe that. He knows he's not but because he's got purple on him. But I think when you play teams like this would you end you very if they come up with the Sunday one forty eight twenty one. Are you okay with defense this week they gave up twenty one points but they knew that you know when you win. Nobody's going to point along with you winning. I mean but I can say I don't know how to score on points this year and they've already got one seventy in a game.
The seventy in that one game is going to boost your offense stop. You don't matter what you do dressing here. I just I mean I I feel like everyone's going to win this week but they cannot turn the ball over or get four touchdowns called by like they didn't press it a few weeks ago. If they do that they'll lose. But yeah I was impressed when I put seven on Newberry. Now I don't know if Newberry how many turn over the head because I didn't really listen to that game. I was going back and forth and it was out of hand when I got. I think we're five turnovers I think in that game. So you know if Woodrow turns the ball over if they get Woodrow to turn the ball over yeah they won't be they'll put fifteen on the board I believe but they can't do that. They can't give the ball Woodrow. That's great to win. I remember size of Woodrow last year everybody guys so be ready. Well history is not on the side of Canada Boas and the Emerald Vikings when it comes to two years in a row they got on a big league and let them come back beat them.
Yeah it's worse than that. When you look at it last year they had they were up what 22 to like seven they lost 50 to 22. That was last year. The year before that 2024 they took on Woodruff ended up losing 62 to 35 and 23. That was the closer game they only lost by a point 36 to 35 and 22 they ended up losing to Woodruff 35 to 28. 2021 they lost to Woodruff. 42 to 6 and then in the COVID year they lost to Woodruff 36 to 28. So history has not been kind whatsoever to the Emerald Vikings with this. I think this is where they turn it around. I think they've got the offense, a good offense that can keep up with the scoring. I think this is going to be who can score last kind of again.
They go ahead and score in a second half. They can't score all the points in the first half in respect to the win this week. I just don't think that. I like your history but I like the fact I see a T right there and that means toss up and I say that Woodruff. I mean I like it. I think it moves a stronger team up instantly. I think this is a different team that we've seen in the last couple of years and I think you know Tadbury well. You know how he made adjustments when he had to at Abbeyville. He knows he can make it. I think this year for a while maybe he's got coaches he trusts a little more. And I think the adjustments will be made this year. We know it was last week because it was almost like you flipped this way. He finally got some players that can play. I mean I think that's what's here. I mean that's what I think not that he didn't have players before. He's got guys just been in that program for three or four years now. They know the system even though he lost some coaches here and there.
They're still running that same system. And he's done a great job by keeping that program together. And I really think I hope it pays off for him this year. Of course he loses a good run about like Chris Dane. That's going to hurt you. But Joe Moore stepped in and and and and he'll be a good running back and all this stuff. But you cannot turn the ball over. You know you got to be consistent offensive. Don't turn the ball over. Don't throw interceptions. If they get up two touchdowns on Woodruff tomorrow night, then don't call the dogs off. You just keep going. Keep running. And I think that's what that's what the problem is with some of these coaches right here. I know that Chris Lines was problem. He'll get up a big lead and he'll just he'll call the dogs off. You can't do that. Not in high school. These coaches in high school will run the score upon you. And they don't give up. And you know you went back and said the history.
But everyone in the Woodruff series, you know, I remember the last 34 years that Emmerl was up a couple of touchdowns on each of them games. And they didn't score a point to say a half almost. I mean they didn't score but a few. And that's going to have to change. They're going to have to keep the game plan. I don't know if they went in the pre-vent or just went conservative. You know we all know when you go conservative conservative it's not going to bow well for you. You got to keep running your same offense to two minutes ago in the game. We know you got the game won by two or three touchdowns. So that's what I think they need to change. And thankful that they must have Tom Butler's cousin over the defensive coordinator. Giving a bold importance now I'm just kidding. Like I said I'm impressed with what I've seen so far. I can't. I can't worry about last week.
They're the best team in this town right now. They are. Coach Rooney I ain't see it. I ain't see that coach Rooney. That's these two boys. I still think Coach Rooney is one of the better offensive guys in the game in this in this town. Well I said team I didn't say anything but offensive guys. I just said. I like to say I don't even know the coordinator. That number two right now. So they're undefeated. Well two and one but they beat some good teams. I got to find out all of them coordinator. And then we got to find out he needs his name and need to be brought up. So it should be a great game. Unfortunately it's at the the Vaughners they call it and that's the top place to win. The defensive coordinator is Duby DeBose. Oh I know him. I said offensive. And the offense is Garrett Jones. How to baits Berglies. Oh Jeff Jones. Yeah. Who did Garrett Jones? I had to hit Coach Sondar. Yeah Duby. Oh Duby. Duby's both. Yeah it went down to a good coordinator there. And now I'm kind of worried about. Good job he's learning.
Yeah that's what I'm saying. I'd like to be young and learning to put in 7 on the number two or three team. And it's like last week against Duby. I mean that looks good for you. I mean that's good. Can the broads you ain't got no pressure. We'll go get Jared Jones from Remorlough if you don't work out. But tap we you know when TAS did a pit that touchdown club me said we're going to sling it out all around the field. Is that what he's in they doing it. Do it coach. Do it. I don't want to just see you running down some my third. I saw enough of that for 25 years over there with Dennis Bots and everybody else. Show me something new. You know what he's about to bring my man back out there. I mean you come on time to show you brother and my team cutting grass again boys over with. I need to go see him in person rather than just listen to him on the radio and. And see them in person see how they stack up with that 2005 team with Dan Wydeman and Anderson and that crew. Good job. He brought an emerald thing guys we talk about. And while I was there for that I got. I'm not going to forget Dan Wydeman. I'll tell you a story after we get off there about Dan Wydeman.
You're not going to believe. We need more Dan Wydeman this week against his type of bull hide to step it up. All right well let's talk about the Greenwood Eagles. They suffered a loss 21 14 at the hands of the Vikings. A Spartanburg last week. Move them to one and one this week they do not get to stay in the friendly confines of JW Bab Stadium. They go on the road down to North Augusta. And this has always been in the last five years. This has been a dog fight. I mean even back in the championship years in 2011-2012. This was a dog fight. I mean it was just line them up smack them and they come back and smack you and it was back and forth. I'm kind of good. I go both ways with this one this year. I'm not exactly sure what North Augusta has. The fact that they struggled against strong thermon leaves me to believe it's kind of in a rebuilding year for them. You know their their coaches Richard Bush he's been there.
Literally maybe what four years. 5 years five years five years. Something like that. So he doesn't have that that. Star running back that he's had in the past couple of years either so you know it just the defense I think will be there. I just not so sure their offense can get going against Greenwood's defensive line. Now he's had the same quarterback receiver for the last couple of years. I mean you really liked and he finally graduated. But like I said the you brought strong thermon that's one thing you look at. They had the Hillary kid at quarterback last year and then strong thermon says you know that. That's so fast my friend. He is born here every every parent. I mean they went back in the scrolls to come out with Hillary kid because his uncle his daddies and everybody's always been a peach field guy. That's really what's really promoted both teams. So a strong thermon would be a strong is our would a really good quarterback. I don't mind saying he's definitely four or five a talent. Kind of like Lincoln has got this year.
I just you know Bush league I don't that's what I'm always calling with a guest from the night to light and went out in. Nor Georgia or North Augustus. Carolina the way it was handled everything else that went on in the press box from me and Tom Carroll. And they did I don't care nothing about and just I like the guy before that Bush guy what's the name. It wasn't weird names PJ black and bush or something else but you know I respect that coach I gotta do him. I will say this about that game right there Kenny distance Kentucky Carolina. Is she really the game that we circle and say we got to have it and I believe we got to have him. I really believe it. I mean yeah I'm on the I'm on the coach but little lifeline here. He I didn't realize how many sophomore green was playing on the center there. They're playing a lot. So I'll give him a little bit of a lifeline. But he I think right now I don't know what North gussard does as far as running the pass and whatever it is.
But I just you know green was got to have his game defensively the defense line going to have to put pressure on whatever they do. And second they just want to grow up. I mean I mean it don't get any easier. I mean this anytime you play on the road it's hard. I don't care who you play away play. Staying at two deep zone. If you need some advice how about giving me a call I didn't play defense. But I'll give you some advice what I see. That two deep zone I think will vote well for you especially against a passing team or whenever they get passing situations. So just just be aware of that and don't get out of it. So that's all I have to say. Coach Butler. I have you have. I'm glad to I'm glad to put all life line because he had an honest owner. Might be a bother. But I mean I think this is like I said I think it's a game they need to win. I mean no the guys have got talent in players. I mean that like I said the portal stole from them and they stole from silver blood.
So their quarterback is from silver blood to replace the Hillary kid. They still got a good running back. And like I said you got like Kenny said you got on there and play four quarters. And I will say this and I will win with this if you if you ever had an opportunity to put that G on the helmet. It keeps you greasy palms off to G helmet if you're not going to go out and play with everything you got in your system. You got to put on if you're going to be agree with Eagle you got to play like you agree with Eagle. And if they're not playing like a coach you got to get a player in there is going to take a job. That wants to be there to win. Because all in all it depends your coach the job does depend on the sooner or later. But I know that for all he had a bill it the chances to where I work for limited time. Like you said like like the game the video college game you're going to keep it gritty palms off the rock and come on the helmet. If you're not going to play with 150% and I just don't think we've seen a full 100% game by the green with Eagles yet. I think they played really good last week.
Should have won last week but they didn't and therefore cut down on your penalties. I think that's the first thing you got to do but you need to go down there and just play. I mean like I said I didn't care about the spread. I probably would have picked green with anyway. I just think they have a good percentage down there overall. I mean when we were there it was probably what 70% run the pass and then RPO quarterback in Colby Brown. He's no longer there and like I said a kid from a lot of streak I mean Superbless pretty good quarterback. So you go out of a pressure on him like Kenny said but they lost the two running back to where brothers. One brother graduate didn't just pass you the other one did so they're starting from scratch. So that's when you got to you got to get them. Well Green would have still operating on a two quarterback system in that regard between Kwe Johnson and say white. So you know that isn't coming to us. I don't think it affects this game whatsoever but when they get into region play at May.
I think they'll have a starter set hopefully by then we'll see what happens. But the two games each quarterback is shined in in their game. So it's you're kind of at a stalemate when it comes to that. You know penalties are still an issue. They were an issue last year and a year before. You know they had what nine penalties for 80 yards. I think it was got to correct them. That's what's hurting one of them. You know the putrid term was called back. So you could you could finish really easily been a 20 win 21 kind of game. Well he was got a guess ball to him and his in your bread. There are two jobs. I think you got to get a catch in balls. I'm okay with two quarterback set right now because we're earlier in the year but now sooner or later one's got a one's going to have to show the talent that he does. But I do just say you know I don't mean to because I really respect that little Chris liner. I just I want to see that offensive I didn't do that. I'm seeing from him right now.
And it's not because they just scored 70s if they're consistently doing this. And like I said they were in this week big. I'm just saying like I said go out there and put it on. Cut your penalties down and you should be the North of Guestor team. Spreads only four. You get three for being at home. That's the top step. So that is the top step. So they already giving Greenwood plus one right there with a four point to their given. So they already telling you right now Greenwood is the better team. I'm excited man but I think this is our Kentucky game that we have. We need this has got to be a win for Greenwood. But teams have got to have it but I think you're even using more. One thing that Spartanburg did that I don't know if North Augusta can do or not. And that was a just in the second half to what Greenwood was doing offensively. Particularly in the running game when you look at that offensive line for Greenwood. They do a great job to do some trap runs and things of that nature. So with let's see we got rice there the center of Sanders cutting Ham child Smith.
You know those guys do a fantastic job but for particularly in the run game that are there. The question is can they they you know. Past protection wise that that's I think the area that they're trying to improve in as of right now. But Greenwood's offense identity is the run game. And that's kind of unlike a Chris Leder offense you want to see more of maybe that that 70 30 60 40 kind of matchup with the run. I was a win. Well I'm going to see wins to I'll just tell it like I said I think that's what he's looking for. He's still trying to the two quarterbacks similar kind of different quarterbacks. I mean they both can run it they both can throw the ball. I think white's a little bit better quarterback when he's like a seller just kind of maybe quarterback is what I'm trying to say. I was you know I talked with some people about them two quarterbacks and they both from got high salons. But from got great talent. Actually everybody I talked to said the black kid was has it's got more of a talent that he's probably going to win the job for us over with.
So we'll see but I think they're going to work something out here. I just don't think you know if you can work it together fine. I mean I've never known of two quarterback system really working a whole lot unless you kind of show in the Dylan Thompson. But both of them did the same thing. Both of them could run it and they can throw it. Now Conner was faster than Dylan. If you got two quarterbacks like that they can throw it and run it by all means play them. That's that's the plus for you. But you got two different quarterbacks. You got one quarterback that can throw it better than the other one. That's not to say that's always going to be the case. But right now that's what you got. Wait a minute. It's over. Just in his throw I just like to what white can do like I said. I don't see you have to play him at quarterback. There's times. I want to see I want times you want to see maybe what he could do it or run him by a position. I mean he did you know I guess that if he didn't win the opening quarter by job I mean he's got the speed or you can just pitch him a ball.
And white's got the speed to take it around the end and go. I mean this team should be and here's another problem with Greenwood right now we're talking about it right now just a bunch of losers. The problem is they've been a riverside team that they should have been. They lost to a farmer team at home that they should have been. So you lick your wounds as high as you want to get it done. But I don't think anybody was saying that Spartan were was going to win. Right and that's what I'm saying. Five margins. Not just seven. I mean I just think it I mean that's not a bad loss in the year. It's a farmer. And River size not a great win can he say it's almost like give or take. It's not a bad loss if you improve. Correct. Just come and wait. Right. And don't make the same mistakes you made this past week and out. I don't know about the weather. You know it's it's what you know everybody knows this time you get a weather's up in there every Friday night. Whether you're going to start on time. Whether you're going to play in lightning and then rain and all this stuff. You just got to block all that out.
And it's quite them play. Well, Bob says 10 o'clock. Start. Let's hope not. Let's lead to wet. Bob and Bob and Bob. I don't think we're starting 7 30. I think we'll be eight o'clock for we start. But I don't know. I guess what you're going to start is if it's not raining in the picture. By the way, the Emerald JV game got moved to 7 o'clock tonight. Oh, six to seven. I don't say team nine six say team gang got moved to 7 o'clock tonight. Yeah. And Dixie, if you leave the ballpark this year, you got to pay to get back in. And they're not allowing any extra balls in. So if you bring a baseball another football, all that stuff, you will be escorted out. So they're getting strict on that. That's because we kids come on. They already living enough. What anyway? You know, don't give me started on that. Sorry, do you. Yes. Then I got to figure out the who of what? All right. Should be fun game 7 30 tomorrow night. North Augusta taking on your greenwood Eagles. Eagles in my opinion should win this by. Don't do it to me. 10 14 points. I would say if you're right.
It's capable. That's all I'm saying. I'm just saying their offense to me is better than North Augusta. And their defense is better. I'm saying quick shooting seven to feet. If I don't shoot a seven to foot. I said, feed this time because they last week it was feet. They shot themselves on both sides of the ball. Play green with the ball. Let's go. All right. No dumb penalty. 96. I got a tough task. I got to take on Wagner Sally and Wagner Sally has been. They've been pretty dug on good over their last two games. I think they're averaging 41 points in game as of right now. So it's, you know, it's. As coach Sarge said, I don't show they ain't played this yet. They had well. I say that. You keep in mind, you know, the teams they beat great falls 48 to nothing. Great falls. I'm going to do my nose. Okay. Branchville. Their softball. Their softball school. And they lost 54 to 20. I'm not bad. So, you know, Wagner Sally ended up with a win.
And even the head coach for Wagner Sally said, you know, this is a different animal with. With 96 coming in. We're not used to somebody as they come in to smack us in the mouth. And that's that's what he said. He was seeing on film when I went back and listened to their show this week. So I think 96 got a good chance of going in there walking out with the win. You know, they they found a running game. In my opinion, we got pretty good. We got a couple back to run it. So. So. You know, I'm going to take a look at the. So. I ain't talking to rock. So. You know, I'm going to take something. Our offensive line has been excellent for three weeks. I mean, we played guys bigger than us. But we made we found a way to make holes. And if we hadn't, if they had the pauls of the game the other night and had to go back side, we probably had a quarterback. Because I posted to coach, I said, Coach, when's the last time you had a quarterback to rush over 100 yards and pass over 100 yards.
But he was Jacob Evans on his way to having that. And then we had to, you know, post-ponet to the next day. And then Lendron made some adjustments and they cut that out on Saturday. But yeah, well, I mean, off our offense line, and I mean, I'm just I'm static over that offense line, done real well. You know, we moved the ball all year long offensively. I mean, our offense Friday night, it was. I mean, we was up 14 to nothing quick on pass plays. I mean, we just moved about down the fields and then course lightning coming and all that stuff. So we're good defensively. I'm going to tell you something. It's going to be a repeat like Greenwood, but we're we playing a lot of sophomores and freshmen on defense. First time you hit it, our young boys Friday, sophomore. Sophomores. Sophomores. And that's good. We're playing. Our best running back, our best playing offense is freshmen number 24.
I can't think of the name. It's quite something. His name keeps living on because he's a new guy. Right. But he's I mean, he does it all. And I mean, I'm talking freshmen now doing this. You got three new offensive lineman, young guys, playing on the offensive line. The only thing you got on that off in line is Will Allen. I mean, future looks good for 96. And I was, you know, waking the salaries got two guys according to the coach on defense that would just flat out. Hit you. I mean, so going to be very important. We do, we do our assignments. We move the ball and all of that stuff don't hurt us. I feel like if we don't hurt us as we're winning, even though with, you know, Wagoners side has got great talent. They kind of remind me a little bit of McCormick.
They have great talent. Don't have anybody doing anything with it. I mean, I'm just comparing. I know they got a coach down there right in the side of the McCormick. I mean, if they'd ever get a consistent coach in McCormick, I think they'd be fine. They'd be able to resemble them a little bit. We'd tie that. But yeah, I think it's going to be a good football game. I think you should win after, had you lost last week, I would go ahead and take Wagoner Seller right now and home. I mean, but like I said, you did something last week that really just did surprise me. After a weather delay, you come back the next day and you've landed on credit for coming back. I mean, they brought everybody back with them. I mean, I snought an easy trip to me, but I mean, you did what had to happen to me for y'all to even be in the conversation. This week, now Tom says, you know, that branch feeling no good there, volleyball, no, no, softball. That was Lewisville. That was Lewisville, there was softball school. Branchville, a good branch feel pretty good. And they get beat by Wagoner Seller, but that much. I mean, you can put some points on the board. I've been like, good, pretty good team. He always thinks about Branchville for rear row days and he's got to get it.
You got to take the kids, man. I don't even know where Branchville is. It's almost to Walter for us. So being skinny, you know, I mean, they do battle with Johnsonville and everybody else, but really good football team. But rear row days, you got to take the grants. You'll love it. They'll love it too. I got a fast football. What's Wagoner Seller got a fast football team now? They are quick. They're quick. But I still, like I said, after last week, you've proved enough to me, you got to coach your win? Well, I think we can establish that running game. I think we can wear them down. And I think that's what I'm going to say we're going to, that's what we're going to emphasize. Because we're going to do both. We're going to throw it and run it. We're going to, it's like coach said. If they give us five yards and a cloud of dust, that's what we're going to take every time. We're going to take it. That's what they give us. And if that's what they want to do, that's what we're going to do. And we're running the clock out and we're win. You know, we're going to do whatever we're going to adjust and we're going to do whatever they give us. If they want to give us the past, we're going to pass it. Now we're going to run it. I mean, that's just, I mean, I like that. Here's philosophy. Well, that's what you got to do to win.
I think that's been the tradition in 96 for a while. And I guess that's what local kids do. And they remember what they've done in the past. How they won and it's just been brought back to him. And he wants to re-enterate that fact, but in his way. Well, he made a good point. You got to learn how to win. And that's something we ain't done in two years. A whole lot of, I mean, we won games here and there. But I'm talking when the game's on line to learn how to win. You know where I'm on drill? What's that? They're former coach. I want to say something. I had a good chance to text with Coach Minnes as birthday today. Told him happy birthday. I said, we ain't forgot about who you are and what you did at 96. And he said, I'll be glad to come on the podcast with y'all. Mungies and Thursday and talk about my kids because that's what I want to talk about. Not Matt Bennett. But he also got his first win on Friday night also. So coach number one at Pillion and Plov. I think y'all played Pillion the last couple of years, didn't you?
Yeah, we won't play him this year. Yeah, but I mean, I just think they still two way. It was just pretty cool to get a chance to talk to him. I mean, I want him because he remembers Tom Carroll. It's not me. He remembered me locking him out of a press box in the cold and over and over. But he remembers Tom Carroll and his questions are so polite. You know, as I ain't that dude, I'm going to ask you, maybe you losing. Come on. What you got to do? I ask you the hard questions in a nice way. I'm not. He's not me. You know, you see a lot of these reporters who that always circle back try to get you to say something to him. You know, whatever, whatever always struck me by him. My coach meant is that as young as he is, he knows so many people that he could call in the coaching profession. I mean, he just knows so many dog on people. It don't matter who it is. He knows them. And that most well thing. I mean, that's what I mean. That's telling me. You got you a great coach. You agree. You know, every reputation with everybody in the state.
You know, every birthday coach. If you're listening. Yeah, we need to see him back on the out of the game. It will show. It'll be low country, but it's still picking. I got all that make care of me. You are cycling on a bit. I was looking to see you're right. You don't have a billion on the schedule this year. If you were still in two, are you probably. You know, the second episode. So they've been out, out bought our region. Go there within our region. All right. Before we get to Chris's chaos, Crescent gets the other game of the week. Three of them, and they get to take on the Abbyville panthers and this one. It's going to be at Crescent. Remember Crescent took on emerald and they lost that game 21 to seven. So you know, they've got an impressive defense. So question is, is the Abbyville curse for you if you pick them? to come to our against pick against them as Abby really can come back and win this one. A lot of people are saying that Crescent will win this game, including some of the odds
makers. I think they've got them as late as we go. What a five point favorite, four point favorite, something like that. Yeah, I mean, I guess it is Abby. So I, you know, I just like to see one pick Abby. In this game. Yeah, we know Willie. We heard him already tell us that he picked Abby. And I want you know, just conversations that we have with each other. It probably comes out when we talk to each other about games and stuff. He almost told you about high school because he hears me say it so much. But like I said, can we have a chance to ride out there? I hadn't been to Crescent in years. And I said something to Tom about it. I said reminds me a lot of Emerald press box and new press box. It looks a lot like 96's press box. Yeah, right. And then you told me you did a game and then I thought it was pretty cool too. So I again, until I'll be able to show me they can play four quarters of football. I don't think they beat nobody. And I'll say that here too. I'm not going to give them 21 this week because I mean, I don't have to just spread it already. Whatever it is. So it's high enough to know what to worry about it. But I don't think I see
when the game I even touched. I got it somewhere where it was. But I mean, Abby was getting poor, maybe maybe that's what it was. I was like, man, come on. We didn't got a 35. Let them start with it. But again, can you for us to sit here and talk about it? We expect to turn around every week from Abbyville and we've yet to see it. And we're already in the third week of the season. I mean, granted you started with a pretty tough team in Salluda. I didn't think you'd win that one. Give them the props, give them the cake or whatever. Then you lose again. I thought you'd lose too. But I didn't. I was joking when I get them cats, you know, three touchdowns. I you don't give Abby bill that many points that box for you. That Jamie Nichol stayed in the vice versa. You don't give them that many. But I guess you gave them 21. You gave them more points than in the other marks. I gave them four more points because I knew how good strong Germany is. Now strong. They're only losing this game this week. Yeah, they're going to buy this week. I'm sure the girls are stopping. So you hit me on that one. I got down with the buy,
but yeah, you said that. I'm looking at this game. I was trying to see what it was. Katava region BS. I was like, yeah, BS in your announcement. But like I said, at some point in time, we spent able to be Abbyville. And that's what I think we're all looking for, you know, coach Nichol is it for you to bring it, whether you lost so much talent off in Sly or not. I remember days when that defense could win games by themselves. I'm talking about seven, that 49 games because defense for a team was so good, huh? We haven't seen that this year on that side. I mean, granted, nobody's scored on a strong tournament. I mean, they basically held, you know, a double Augusta team this four way smack down to. I mean, so you get, and that's what I think if they're going to win this week, it needs to be defensively. It needs to be like in-war shut, kind of shut down, crescent poor a little bit, but they couldn't contain them for the whole game. And that's why I would probably going to take crescent in that game. Well, Abbyville's averaging right now with the two games that they've played about 17 points, maybe 16 and a half points
to game. They're giving up 33 a game as of right now with that. I think with crescent, their offensive line is going to be a lot more like like saluteus. So I think you're probably looking at a game in the high 20s, low 30s. Again, with these two squads, but you know, crescent has been good for now for what, five years, they've been decent and they have not progressed much at all. Always a prolific, I'm going to say prolific quarterback, but a really good guy to get through the ball around. But they probably got a bigger offensive line too. And they probably got more players than saluted it. I mean, let's be honest. Sluder probably lost that ball in because they didn't have enough ball players. They lost a game with a head coach. So, but I think crescent, if I, if I aim, if I can say that, I think crescent is going to line up. They're going to throw it, but I crescent going to line up. They're going to run it right right down the aviars, because they can. And they're going there. Abbeyville to stop them. And when they stop them running, they're going to throw
the ball on them. Abbeyville, that's a lot of points. Abbeyville defense gives up. That's not a aviars. You never know about Abbeyville defense give up the 33 points of game. They got some issues on. I thought they had issues on offense. They got issues on defense too. I still think they got some issues on offense of being able to move the ball. They're going hard to find a passing game. So, I'm aware. I mean, because these team, and they don't get any easier next week, it's not a conference schedule. But they better figure out something. You know, even if you make the playoffs, if you losing all these games, you're not going to get a good seed. Third straight game, Tom Carroll. Abbeyville is getting points. So, I mean, I applaud them for playing these teams. I mean, I guess offense, Coach Nichols is listening to people talk. That's the stands five. You know, you ain't got a stand five room. Just stand sitting there cheering for a year and saying,
you don't blame them by nine conference. Yeah. So they bring in Westside and now they're playing the biggie boys. So, you know, stand square rule is an effect. I give him credit. He's playing them. He's taking his lump, but he's playing them. And he just took out that little reach that he's in and get back where he need to play. But yeah, I think I'm going to have to that. That's, you know, for years, they've had identity running the ball on offense. And they still do, but they better get another identity and passing the ball a little bit somewhere because teams are going to start packing. They're going to start packing that box. Now, Chris, it does have a little bit of turnover. I guess you would say they've got what three turnovers in the last two games with that they had two interceptions against Emerald. They had one interception last week to go along with that. So that could be a little bit of an issue and a benefit for Abbyville this game. As far as the running back, they're going to have to stop. That's Elijah Brown for Cresson. He's got 22 carries
on the season for 247 yards. So, and he's averaging 11.2 yards of carry. That's the key, I mean, so if you can stop him and force them to be one dimensional in the passing department, I think you'll have a better chance passing wise 18 to 30 for 166 yards, you know, two interceptions to go along with that and only one touchdown. So everything they do is pretty much on the ground. That's all I said, two headed, well, not really two headed monster, but if you do, if you're able and you state that box, they can throw it. He's going to have a good game. I will say that. If you are, Jamie Nicholson, you say I'm going to just totally worry about stopping that guy running the ball. Like he said, I had Brown and the Noose because I would add him close to the 15 yards of carry. But what did you say was 12? 10. So, he's about 10. But I mean, he's just a tough guy to bring down. I gave him more yards of game, but I mean, I'm just going to play in Abbyville. So I can't give you an over and over touchdown. He scored if you want to get that right. I think Abbyville
is going to have to score touchdown defensively. I do too. That's why I said, you know, that's where they're going to get it rolling. And then again, I don't, I'm not 100% sure they've had one guy in their center all year long. I think salute is starting this guy. And then, you know, storm thermonauty started this guy. And I mean, they're trying to still pick it. I mean, I knew that was the thing that Jamie told the WSPA crowd out on Channel 7, crowd during the football preview shows is that they don't put the first time in 34 years. They don't have a starting quarterback. I true starter at quarterback. So defense has to pick it up. I mean, what he wants to do? Cry about it. I'm not crying. I mean, you know, cry me a river. No, I can't really. It's not. All that tell us you got that and you can't find your quarterback. Well, how many two shows did I go in there and just almost look at the dice and say, man, you a golfer ain't you the way you say in bag. He never got nothing. The little Abbyville is they likely called me and I make him mad because that means that he's a lot better than he tells people. Now this year, Tom, I'm
saying right now, I don't think he got it this year, coach. You got to prove me wrong now. And I know sooner rather than later, I'm going to see that big score over that side. I'm going to give you more. I'm going to give you more. But you know, Abbyville getting 7 points this week on the road. I mean, that's telling me to do little, Gerald do little has been doing this longer than me and you have. Thanks to the Abbyville. It's going to probably be doing there in Windows games. It wasn't surprising. It's surprising this year because I just don't think they've got the talent this year. And it's hard to say about Abbyville. Tom will tell you, I've never been a pro pro because I don't play nobody. You don't mean you don't. They play that little week. And see when I say that to Pallola, they play in in it. But I mean, I'm going to say you gone a week and we got to play in it. All right. Well, y'all there. I mean, yeah, I'd rather see all y'all step up and leave the little and you ain't got my corner going to have some wing on follow that because I don't play with call me. No, I'm talking about the next team he talks about. Okay. Well, I'm just going to go run down the list. We're running short on time. Yeah, we are. So you need to hit the button on the game. Games this week. You got Greenwood at
North Augusta Fox Creek at Dixie. Soundside Christian is at Lawrence taking on the Raiders there. Emerald is at Woodruff. You got Crescent hosting Abbyville. Newberry is going to host Clinton. So Clinton goes on the game. Well, one salute as a Batesburg Glee'sville Greenwood Christian host, Calhoun Falls Lincoln County, Georgia was supposed to play McCormick, but they're playing Aquantus this week. That game ended up getting canceled and then McCormick came back and said, you know, we got a team now and they said, well, we already filled in the slot. Another four 18, though, for Lincoln. It is 96 is on the road at Wagner, Sally, where shows will host Thornwell and Community Christian will host Cambridge Academy. Never heard of him. I mean, Cambridge. Yeah, tree house. Yeah, it's thunderstorm. No. So. All right. With that being said, it's time for the one, the only and we take things very seriously around here. Are you ready for it? All right. Chris's
chaos. Hello, I had to really game up with him games. I had to come up with another one of my slay at last. My first game will happen at Blacksburg. It's BMI getting 56 and a half points against a coach that I don't consider coaching James Franklin. I think he's a joking. I think the team will be a joke this year. Give me 56 and a half and BMI. Secondly, I'm going to Hemingway now. You lost last week coach. You lose one more. Yeah, but they're going, they're going, they're going to really tough game this week and they're getting 42 at home. Give me the 42 in Hemingway. This one's stunned me because they've been rival since me and you've been breathing. Bamberg goes to Barnwell and you know, we've all the shakeups in this. Doodlittle, I don't want to go on home. Barnwell must have just lost every player they ever had. Coach every day. They getting 33 points on the road to Bamberg. Bamberg won a state last year and I'm going to give him the credit. But 33 over your rival. Give me a rival. Give me Barnwell. That game's going to be like 110.
I know. It's my game. That's what I'm telling you. No, playing hard. Don't listen to it because it's going to be one of them games. Philip Semen. They got a big game this week. They're getting 31 at home. Doodlittle, I'm going to tell you something. You got the strongest stuff in North Carolina and all the ones I'll rock heel because I can say you get Philip Semen 31 after they just covered a 42 points for it last week and I lost. Give me my Philip Semen's. What are they? The fighting eight name team or whatever. I don't even know who they are. I got to see my woman last week. I'm starting to love them. Pull all green, sea, Floyd. GSF like 8KT. Be sound. They getting 31 again this week. Give it to me. They won three straight weeks when they've been 25 plus 400 dog. Give me green sea floors until somebody will respect them. Adam Zee. I got you this week. I got you. They getting 36 points. I'm going to take it. Come on. I mean, come on. PC Core, I like you.
We've come together. Better me. Come on. Adam Zee and home's getting 36. Give it to me. Here's the two little shot. I'm going to go reverse order. I'm going to take 35 and a half or 10 state. I won't go and do it. I need the game to compete with Willie. Second one will give you tonight. Herman's getting our note. Give me 30. 46 and a half up there. Rocky Tauke. I'm going to take the paladins this week. They won and owe. I won one in Tennessee. High pool. I won't what you got. I'm going to take a shot. Now, Lane Kivrin hurt me though that we are the other year with Ole Miss and putting 70 on the bowl against Herman. And I'm going in. Like I said, I'm going in with Spartanburg. They're home. No respect against Tom Nights. I don't think you know anybody in state like me. Sometimes that's not going to end cycle on since he's been a coach at Independence and then Dutch for it. They get 22 points at home to Dutch for. Spartanburg is not that bad for the home. They'll be getting 22 at home. Give me Spartan burg mark highs. They're running back. It was hurt. Tom Nights, I don't know. You
played this good team yet, but you coming to Spartanburg to find out. The hurt was cramped. So that was his issue. Well, I ain't going to say I won't cramp this week, but I'm just saying it's not an injury. It's what I was saying. Keep that pickle juice close. Eggman, you can sleep. You mean you got just how pickle juice for tequila? I'm telling you all. Sorry I had to do that. It's great for cramps, but like I said, that's Chris's K.R. I don't have a battle willy, but what I did see you had 10 games I had to find an attempt one. So, be aware it's against you. I just don't know to you score that many points against, against state. So, Kenne Bryles, now as your time to show me if you had coached me to go. Alright, Chris's chaos here for this third week of the football season, high school football season. And really the week one, I guess you would say for college to go along. Oh, Willie's mad because I'm on fire and he's on fire. He's on fire. And I should have shippied away for long. I'm going for a wrong way to go. I'm going crazy with free as and like I said, I have yet, but now I could lose the big one this
week if it is a 70 nothing game between Furman and Tennessee, but I've only showed me that. So, we'll see. Go to the ends. Anything else I'm forgetting? Should get started Thursday night football tonight, Georgia Tech taking Colorado. Colorado again. He even pros open up this week. Next week. Next week. Next weekend. Yeah. I said they're rostered this past week. And that's why Lane's still waiting to see who got cut where. So he thinks two will got cut it. The balcony. Did he get cut? No, I'm just saying he thinks he's waiting for it to get cut. Two of my. Did he get cut? Two of my head. I didn't see that one. I just threw that out. I know I just locked down the cut list and went there. There are big ones that got cuts on there. That we have it and really mentioned we're 11 got cut. Yeah. So what if someone up the hang one might get tacky so. And like I said, what do you guys do go back? Where did they go, Judge? You to one ruling. Where did they go? Nobody knows. They're not going back into classroom. No,
who thought it started? Well, yeah, it's like a lot of the head coaches already said. I don't have a place for them. I'm not, I'm not, you know, kicking somebody off scholarship to bring somebody in. So there's already been on scholarship three times. And be interesting to see what transpires this afternoon with that hearing. I'd like to have Will love us in New England. I will say that as a backup. I would like to see that. Somebody picking up. Did you get enough quarterback? All right, Labor Day, Tom Carroll. Go do it. Get it back from Monday. We'll be ready for. Well, that's just another thing. We won't be here Monday because I will be out of town. There you go. It's Labor Day. I hope everybody has a safe and productive weekend to go along with a big three day weekend. Awesome. Go along with it. So we'll be back on Thursday next week. Perfect timing. Be ready. All right. Thanks to Howard and his great staff. Eric Howard's on Mankamai and see the good folks and enjoy some great food as well. And live entertainment Fridays and Saturdays. After the football game. Come on by and enjoy that. I'm Tom Carroll. Chris Cox. Kenny Falon. We are the Lakeland sports guys. Enjoy the games.
