Supreme Rice, since the 1930s, supporting Louisiana farmers and communities throughout Louisiana to find out more, go to SupremeRice.com. From the original walk on to Burbank at Nicholson, welcome to the Thursday edition of Live It Lunch, 104-5 ESPN Baton Rouge, Charles Hannigar, Jimmy Otte, Mike Delacano with us on Thursdays, Kaluci from Vegas, Matt Newman's rejoined to show. We'll have his picks, further week one of college football, a little bit later on in the show. Tons of stuff going on here at walk on as they prepare, people are starting to make their way in towards Baton Rouge, actually open
the campus, some of the parking lots are going to open today. And so you're getting a little bit of an influx right now and over the next 48 hours, obviously. It's going to be crazy. Got a huge amount of things to tell you about here at walk on, it's going to be the place to be on Saturdays, we get ready for LSU and Clemson. Get in. Get in. Get in. Get ready. A little bit over here. Just a touch. Across town as we open the hearing for the injunction for the players is taking place in a Baton Rouge courtroom. We got boots on the ground there. As things happen, we'll tell you if we need to go down Michael Cava from WBRZ is helping us out today. If we need to go down there, something happens. We'll keep you up to date on what's going on. I can tell you that Commissioner Greg Sanky is in attendance there as is the Attorney General Liz Miro from Louisiana. They filed dueling briefs late yesterday. So I'm not going to speculate anymore about what might happen as of right now it started.
We'll let you know what happens as it goes on today. And in the meantime, we'll tell you about what's going on here and what's going to go on in the next few days as far as football goes. Jimmy and there's there's plenty to get to tonight. We got we got football tonight. We got football tomorrow night and of course all day Saturday. Used to be where and bolder. That was the biggest side show. I don't move down south. So I mean it's got a lot of a lot of say very quiet with the camp camp Sanders. So I can't prime. Especially for him going back to Atlanta of all places where he debuted as a brother. He's mentioned that. You know when they when they bring up the game. Nobody's really talked about her a little bit about it. But I really have just a touch though. Okay. Not a lot. I haven't heard anybody bring that up. But it's very good, Charlie. You know, of course we're two sport athletes going in the plane from the football field to the Pirates and LCS you know on Sunday night and you know what it was a state. He just performed
in that world series. One of the I think he might have led the team and hitting you know a batting average. Did he really? Oh yes. Yeah. On that world series though I think you just all he did was pinch Ron. I did not the world series in LCS. Oh, the Pirates. I remember the helicopter. Yeah. He didn't even though he batted I don't know like 450 or whatever it was. They didn't use it that much in the world series because he was playing because he was. They thought maybe he was you know playing the football game literally the same day. I mean, I would. I'm going to I'm going to hit him till he breaks out of his slump. I can tell you that. We've seen some great ones. Hall of Fame hitters going slumps in the postseason. Smaller sample size of course and also the pitching is you know is not as thinned out as a stretch out. But anyway, yeah that's interesting. But Kane's King. Kane's King. You know Brent. Brent Key. Former offensive lineman. One what multiple games as three touchdown underdogs to rip the interim tag off of
a sweet and lame kiffin in them. They beat him about 100 that year to either the first or second week. Ole Miss against Georgia Tech. But Georgia Tech's lack of roster in their schedule was just so brutal. I mean, not in conference. You playing teams like Georgia and Ole Miss. You know, so they they they fired the coach and he's done a heck of a job. But man, how much design runs between the tackles for Haynes King. Former offensive lineman. So now a Bertleman does it goes there. He can run a little bit. We saw 58 yard TD run. I know it's Purdue, but still he's got some wheels and how much will they miss Haynes King's production? Because we saw him the first football exhibition of Hall of Fame game. He looked pretty good throwing them all. They were running a completely different offense than that power running running a quarterback over and over and over and joule. Yes, it was a four points bread. They were in field goal range. They were going to kick the field. Go get out of it. Nope. He busts one. They scored seven and they cover the spread last year in this game.
This is a Thursday night of Friday night game last year. I thought it was a Friday night game, but I could be sure. Colorado, Colorado used to play a lot of Friday night games. Yeah. Well, this weekend is this five day college football weekend is different. But even when they played the game against Colorado State, remember they played that Friday night game that big, big two years ago? That was zero. Was it? Yeah, it was a week zero game. Yeah, we were in Las Vegas. Okay. Or was it? No, I remember it as being like we were for USC. It might have been the front. I think it was week two. They played on a Friday night. They had beaten somebody. Maybe one TCU. That was the first year. Anyway, they played the Friday night game against Colorado State. It was a really good game. We're real late. It was real late. A lot of celebrities, a lot of Deon's former teammates were there. And Colorado won late. It was a real good game. And off they went. That was the big season for them. You know, I wonder about Deon. I think I got the answer to this. If he were anybody else, first season you win four games, last season you win three games.
The season in between that, you won one nine games, you win nine and four. But you had the Highsman Trophy winner and a true unicorn because he was going both ways the whole time. I mean, a truly once in a last 30 years type of player. Plus, regardless of what you think of Shedor as a professional quarterback, a more than competent, really good college quarterback. Anybody else would be saying, well, you rode those two players in the one year. You know, you haven't been very good, especially if you go four and eight again this year. Wouldn't that be the narrative of this word somebody else? Yes, but I think he's getting a little bit of a pass, not really because of his celebrity because of his health issues. And that's fair. He's serious health issues that he has. And he is a big, he is the face of the football program. And I'm not going to be ignorant to the fact that he has drawn money there. There have been boosters that have bought into that that would not have.
At the same pace, I mean, there was an awful lot of the first one when you go three and nine last year, you're supposed to be progressing. I mean, when four and eight the first year, they and started out and started out three and oh, that year, you were right there. There was third week of the season this first year. They opened up. You remember the one AOP. TCU, correct? Yeah, on TCU and then they beat Nebraska. Yeah, next week they beat them 36 to 14. That was a home game. And at Colorado State, that's when the coach was making his headline. He was talking his garbage and Colorado State law. It was double overtime that Colorado beat him. And that was a very late game. It was a Saturday. It was week three by that time. So, yeah, so it was and then it was a date of nine. And keep in mind what he had, you tell him about your door, but Travis Hatterbeard, about a lot of games too, you know, in two years ago when they were playing them the last week of the season as a chance still alive for the big 12 championship game. They went to Kansas and lost, but Hunter was so good. Those guys weren't really around there anymore.
There's been nobody like Travis Hunter for 40 years in college football. We were doing the O'Bitt for Jerry Stovall and all the two-way stuff. We weren't anybody like that since the 60s, man. You know, in big time, do you want football except for Travis Hunter? So, yeah, any other coach who would be like, well, you know what, when you had that generational talent, yeah, you won. Other than that, it hasn't been very good. And that's why the promotion and the hype can only, you have to deliver at some point to sustain the support. Whether it's from the Boosters, the administration, he's on the commercials, basically as part of the package for the University. I mean, we're prime. It's just the whole thing. Yes, he put them on the map, but he's been very, very quiet this year. And this is kind of a reboot year. You know, have your son, you know, have Travis Hunter who you took with Jackson State. They're gone and you went three and nine. Well, that's, that's a lot of let them pull the upset tonight. They'll start talking about them again.
Because this would be a really good win at Georgia Tech. It's open to see it. It should be a nice win. It was be a nice win. Six and a half is the line. Paul Stone who I do the podcast with them, Bet River. He has never picked Colorado. He picked against them the first year as a win total, the start of the year. He's picked his spots with, he's never picked him. He picked him. Now his, his basis, you lost so much production from Haynes King. He was such a big part of everything that you did. And you know, he's going now. And so this is, this is a little windows. This isn't, this isn't the older one. And so we'll see. Like I said, I still think he's going to run him some. He's more of a, he's a speed runner and not much is behind, you know, running behind his pads between the tackles runner. And so it's an interesting, interesting spot because Georgia Tech started to win just enough. When they had to have some sort of winning product once you started leaning on your boosters for this money. Either you got a great hire or exciting hire that's going to, you know, excite the boosters.
A conference affiliation. We've seen that with some of them escalating the game. Or you coach leaves you like South Bend. They get off their rear end and, you know, with their six in the, in estimated a pay roll, player pay roll this year. But something, but Deon has been there enough now. This is, it's, if he follows it up with another five and seven here. And that's, that's eight and 16 into two years. And you should be making progress. You should not be regressing because there was once where you were getting the guy that's the offensive tackles. The number one alarm in the, in the country coming out of the high school that year. That's, he's not getting those guys now. We got football at five o'clock. I'm a five o'clock. Five o'clock. Who is that? Five. You, you massing Rutgers. I don't care who. Put it on TV. You pass, man. The big 10 network. Well, you can tell when they're playing. Man, they're, they're, they're a little slow and they're a little small. They might be the worst B one program right now. If not there in the conversation. Gosh, they're in the bottom five or six. For sure. They may, they may be less.
You know how Ryan McGee does his bottom 10 every year just every week is kind of a, you know, if we're up to one and cheek once at one thirty eight now. She's there in the one. They're in one 30s. I could tell you I could tell you who's going to, who would give him a room for their money. And we saw him last week in week zero. We went against Sacramento State. And they're in there in their newbie. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I feel comfortable you messing with one. I'll take North Dakota State over Sacramento State. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. All right. What's coming up here in walk on besides besides the game that is, you know, so first of all the doors open at 10 a.m. We open it our early on game day at 10 a.m. Even with the night games. So a lot of people are going to be around campus looking to watch some games and you know, get a bite to eat and get a bloody mario whatever it is going start to start your day over here at walk on. It's man. I got a got a big Clemson party that they have catered over here. So that's got on but ESPN Radio College Game Day tour will be here broadcasting live at three to six p.m. And then post game we got we got live music pants party. Charlie. That's your favorite pants party.
Party. Party. Yes indeed. I like a good pants party. Yeah. As opposed to no pants party. Let me let me stand a truck. No, no pants is opening up for it. So the headliner is pants party. So post get live music. It's festive. Of course, everybody will be celebrating a big Tiger win in Death Valley. The core proceedings are underway. Well, update. We will have updates as they become available during breaks in the proceedings. If anything finishes, we'll have Michael Cobbler with us. If this could go on for I'm not even going to speculate. So something happens. We'll let you know in the meantime. We're here at walk on's and yeah, so that in Drew Barry, Mara Drew Barrymore is a close talker. She is very much a close talker. She's kind of touched. She's a touchy feely talk show host. We it's one of the TVs over here at walk on so Charlie knew. He knew though. We also got some new menu addition additional items over here at walk on's and new classic chicken nachos, crispy house made tortilla chips loaded with cheese grilled chicken, queso, pickled jalapenos, diced tomatoes, sour cream and spicy ranch and Louisiana loaded nachos chips with black and chicken pepper jack boot on on dewy sausage,

A addition is a little spicy mango margarita refreshing on a warm Saturday afternoon here at walk on's Mike. We're 48 hours away, a little 48 hours away from the kickoff with this game all the pre you know all camp everything is done everything with this court case. So let's put that aside for a second until something happens. So let's talk with the game itself and how LSU and your eyes matches up with Clemson. I know there's a lot of new pieces on both sides. There's a lot of moving parts in general for boat teams but especially for LSU and this if everything goes to according to Lane Kiffin's plan this will be the worst as far as new people coming in at once. He hopes to add some stability as the years go by. Build with his young defensive line build his team around that and move forward so I mean you got let's look at what we're dealing with you got a quarterback transfer and that misspring football he seems to be very smart working hard you got all new receivers.
That you think are going to be pretty good they're going to be talented but are they going to be on the same page and how quick. So anything with you can have running you know you can have good running backs I'm not sure the rotation or how they're going to do it. So offensively you really just down to one question mark probably and that's going to be the offensive line which was weak last year especially with the injuries and having to play freshmen overall grade would be a weak offensive line for the season. So that seems to be what I'm going to look at the most and I'm sure what the you know I think if you're scouting LSU and trying to assess their future to see how that group progresses. Now if you flip to the defense you have your defense or your same defense coordinator you have a lot more stability and you should already there should be less question marks on defense and it looks to be pretty good you have to replace two phenomenal players.
And Montserr Delaing and Halsey the safety but besides that you seem to be pretty pretty good shape your your linebackers should be your strength your two linebackers are both been all conference. You have backup depth in the secondary if that young defensive line can help can mature pretty quick then you're really looking at a real good defense. So it's you know LSU it's it's just going to take a little time and right now the goal is to get wins to get as many wins as you can eroing the season and then when you get toward the middle of the season is when you're planning on your team really being good and improving and getting ready to make the stretch that should be the way it's set up. When you watch Lane Kiffin's offenses specifically at Ole Miss but you really anywhere I don't remember him having you know all American offensive lineman stacked to the gills yet there always seem to be big running lanes there always seem to be advantageous blocking angles for them to open up holes.
Schematically he seemed to be able to help out those offensive lineman now he may have more talent here but I don't remember Ole Miss just lined up and blowing you off the football it seemed like there was a lot of time space they would create space and how they do that with their passing game. Okay. They're worried about the passing game so tell me how that operates well you know he's established a reputation at Ole Miss he built it up and now he's here at LSU and that's what he's going to try to do. You know again the quarterbacks with him usually get the ball out pretty quick they'd run much and I've mentioned this in the past they're much better and again I'm talking about Ole Miss now with things like the back shoulder throw if you play him. That's more of a you know you think a drew breeze and Marcus Colston you think at a back you know back shoulder throws and Ole as a college team Ole Miss really did it better than anybody I saw.
Mendoza and Indiana did a well last year also but I mean so it all he works together he gets that passing game you don't want to get beat deep you're DBS you're safety you're not flying up to the line of scrimmage. You've got that reputation that's why you know if you can make passes it helps your lineman if you quarterback can get the ball out his hands quick that helps your lineman so you have different areas to do it again hopefully you have good lineman too but I mean it can all work together but the quick release is important. Yeah nothing develops slow with him very little of his off the belt. If you get a few first downs then they usually then they're usually going fast you rotate a lot of receive a lot of receivers keeps everybody fresh and rotate your running backs and that's how you go for a long season and have. Do they have enough of the rotation defensively to run a more up tempo like he did you know and at this stage we're just not sure the person now.
Yeah well we know the name Charlie that he's so good to talk but he talks about how there's so much more competition defensive tackle he's got numbers there. Yeah I mean he's talking about there's seven different guys that they're trying to bring it on a eighth guy you know in court today and it will see the interesting thing Mike would tell about okay they set up the row at the past but they're balanced he's always balanced but but they've he's never had a season where they threw it more than they ran it. Oh really I didn't know. Oh absolutely. Oh yeah. No no no he's he's no they their balance compared to most teams but they are they're always ran it to you know more than more than. Well okay that's true Jimmy but let's let me think about that another way and let me ask you this the last three years they were either first or in the top three in the SEC in passing and they were fifth or sixth in rushing is that overall balance because they're not going to be a good match. No. I want to say pie pea- Value balance because they were ahead they one most of their games they were ahead they were confidently clogged in well we call neutral down through the game still in in in question inside a
couple around a few rounds of wins are not conference schedules never been scared each other very tough so gonna have some of those but it seemed to me that turned kill more of a passing game in what we call the darms it matter in the lasts couple years when they had Jackson those guys were so good that they were more of a past first team than they were when he first got there. Is that fair? Because the first three years they were there were first or second in the league and then I think your point is well taken as far as let's take out some of these Rena wins garbage yards, game is out of hand, let's get out of here. Okay, and I think that would do it. I would think that might put it close to 50-50, but I'd have to disagree with you as far as it got down as it matter, would down counts more than fourth down. And fourth down when he ran tempo, he ran it way more than me. He knew he played, there's no hesitation at BAM, they were trying to. That was part of their edge that they got. I mean, he knew on third down, if it's like this, he was ready and the team was
ready and they obviously practiced it because they they've rarely jumped off because they were rushed and stuff like that, but they would catch the defense at a little bit of a disadvantage and not as maybe as prepared. So those over and over when he was going for in a fourth down at Joel 29 and you know 25 against Alabama, you know, in a seven-and-nothing game. He went for it more than anybody. Now it's now it's well at that time. Yes, he's talking about. But he still, he's still the kind of the neutral down zone to you point. I think it is very, very balanced runner pass and that's what's that's part of what that's why he's effective. But he's so much better now and letting the game come to him and playing the game. He used to press. Yes, he used to press. He thought he had he had to pull it, steal a possession or two because he was at disadvantage. And also I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I can guarantee you he was a
pass first coach earlier at Ole Miss than he was later at Ole Miss because of what you just said. He didn't have he didn't have the talent when he first got there and then he developed the talent and he was much more much more run oriented toward the end of his last few years than his early years. How would you compare what you saw to Sam Levit two years ago to what you saw to Jackson Dart two years ago? Levit was a playoff quarterback. Yeah, but it was a first round pick. It was hard with Levit because I mean so much with Scatabo. Scatabo it's 1700 yards. I mean so much with Scatabo. It was kind of hard to to make that. I mean he was I thought the focal part of the off the made focus of their offense with Scatabo not the quarterback. He was not the impression I had. Why didn't watch in those in those big games and don't get me wrong Sam Levit was good but I think you know Dart didn't really have that and Dart did a lot of the
running himself which I'm kind of curious to see because you know Levit you know LGS three new quarterbacks we don't know you know we don't know the depth of the quarterback position you know you you read things you hear things and you know you would think you want Levit healthy and I don't see why why they would want Levit run the ball as much as a Jackson Dart did when you have all these great running backs. We'll see you know Scatabo ran for 1700 two years ago Lacey ran for almost 1600 last year. That count in the playoff game. Yeah that's comp 15 games almost to move rush for how much? You said 1700 yards here. Yeah average like 13 yards reception. Okay a year too. Yes. So he operated as good as Chambles was last year. Lacey damn near lead to conference in rushing I mean he was right behind Ahmad Hardy at Missouri so he's operated with an elite running back. Yeah you know so if we see I certainly don't expect any of these backs to
rush for 1500 yards but in the aggregate if we're gonna do a little money ball thing I think Dylan Jones is gonna start but I think we're gonna see all three of them that elite running game would take a lot of the pressure off of Sam Levit. Here's the rushes to passing attempts first year 2020 457 at 335 so 222 more that increase a little bit five second year 584 to 429 so that's about 155 more rushing and then over 200 more yard his third so they he's still even with them it's not as much just throw it aired out as much as you think then listen yes you got a factor in some of those renaween type of a plays and garbage yards and I get that you know even kneels before half or at the end of the game but that's that's more than you would that's way more rushing than maybe some people would realize don't forget our friends at Legacy Title Chad Reynolds Legacy Title for all of you real estate closings 296 006 so full service title company servicing all the South Louisiana fast
friendly professional services which you get when you dial 296 006 so Ashley Donald Adrian Galata Michael Platt Mary and a Hayden Adley and Bradford Smith buying building refinancing nobody choose but you choose Chad Reynolds Legacy Title 296 0060 live with the original walk on live at lunch one oh four five ESPN Baton Rouge it's time it's now collucci time doing collucci is back to give his best picks on one oh four five ESPN Baton Rouge down the stretch we come in the final week into both Saratoga and Delmar and how about collucci man giving us a seven and a half to one winner Wanneca paying 17 dollars at Delmar last last week well done collucci thank you gentlemen and definitely you know always care about my Baton Rouge contingency you know that we got to have that ROI up there probably a little bit of bro but this college
look at this week's slate I mean look at the point spreads on these games is this comical I mean why are they even I just don't understand yeah let's go through it Rutgers 29 way far as 25 Delaware 28 and a half Buffalo 24 and a half Minnesota 42 and a half it's ridiculous I mean games like this I mean put them fill them in maybe in the middle but to start the regular season like this is just disappointing from a lot a lot a lot a garbage no there's a lot of garbage games just where there's no doubt and I mean it's until they college football this just it has a few issues okay the organization okay and so the you know the the big the big ten in SEC all those teams should be playing one game against each other at least you know I mean like let's place play the better teams in the Rennowins now the SEC give them credit that they got to nine conference games but they also still have a mandate where you are forced to
play one of you not conference games against a power for opponent now it could be Cal and Stanford or Northwestern Vandy or you know with Kentucky but it's still you you have to play a non-conference opponent so that's 10 to 12 so that's reduced it but the Rennowins have been round for a long time cut Charlie we got an update no but would would thank you put out yesterday about his take on the 24 game playoff is that everybody that if they go to 24 game playoff 24 team playoff his recommendation demand whatever you want to call it is that everybody that gets into the playoff has to play 10 of these games against power power teams yeah and there are nine teams this year that are not doing that including Indiana I don't think that it's got any chance to pass but at least gives us an idea where Sankey is thinking for the 24 game playoff Penn State for three years in a row three years ago before we get to some of the line movements things like that we're gonna get picks I mean come on now 17 dollars last week we we we Saratoga and Delmar who we looking at getting
back to that though for a second Jimmy I'm sorry you know what are we gonna do stop playing in college football into March I mean you definitely have to shorten the regular season I mean get rid of week zero obviously I mean this look this late this week looks like week zero and if you expand to a 2014 playoff I mean you're gonna be playing football for 30 quarters of a calendar season a year and you know I don't know how exciting that is now now no wait a minute wait a minute your favorite sport they do start this month they go into the summer the NHL starts this no I understand but the NHL is a professional sport I know college kids okay so as college but the liquidation of these games look at the games on the slate this week and you could easily eliminate a week or two if you're playing teams and having mismatches like there are this week I mean look at Georgia I mean look at that point spread look at Kansas I mean we're talking about 40 points spreads guys Stanford is I mean
astronomical Miami is astronomical I mean it's just it's amazing that you're looking at teams that like would have to score every single time they have the ball basically on a week like this and you know I just think it takes away from the sport that's why I always say the NFL is King because each and every week anything has you know the possibility of winning whereas these minor college teams they have no chance the NFL does is to do I need just call it something different they call it preseason if they go to if they go to 24 teams and you're eliminating week zero starting next year everybody's gonna start a week earlier and you would eliminate the conference championship game you'd have a lot more football in December I think one of the things that this will do is this will bring the end of the college football season actually earlier not later we're ending this season at the last week in January which is way too late for college football they'll be able to move that they'll be able to slide that calendar up if they do this the they will eliminate the conference championship
games and they have eliminated week zero already wants it to be more like a NHL you know September to June September to June we've been working for years down here to eliminate these games in November we're still having to you know deal with them in September right you're gonna get one maybe two but hopefully let's stop it right there yes and give hockey they played three times a week so relax you're talking about a sport like a month a week I know they're starting I know they're starting this month in that September and I know they end in early to mid-June and that's ten months so I mean you know I know it's less of a physical sport it's not real physical hockey you know but I mean we get those guys a break that's why they know I got 18th and you're comparing a pro sport to a college one that's gonna be less physical guys this cake like forty balls for our way crushing guys it's in a board exactly it was it was the sarcastic Dwayne I was being so joking a little ridiculous I'll tell you that getting getting okay all right Delmar
race eight today the number two horse we're gonna go with chaotic neutral it's a Mike Paiupi horse he hasn't been that great this you know current me I think he's got like four wins three wins at a 40 but definitely this horse is dropping from a special way to 50,000 you get Wilson Arante who's definitely one of the kings of the prices is you know he's about two for 30 with two seconds and four thirds but his ROI is astronomical this horse is putting a very very good spot I think today and you're looking at an eight to one morning line not so sure if you'll get that you know definitely the one horse inside of him heroic dose is gonna take a ton of action it's a Jeff Mullins horse who popped us for last week you know with that good payoff but Mike Paiupi is definitely gonna have this horse ready he's got some good workout some solid minute drills race eight at Delmar sorry I don't wait till the evening but number two chaotic neutrals depicted eight you know me he
did so the race race eight race eight the number two horse the number two horse chaotic neutral which is eight to one morning line eight to one morning line so let's get going nothing that's erotoga today uh... saratoga the the barooca I believe they are running today the number root which is uh... you know what tradition there a great great turf race Chad Brown is really stacked and out of the Chad Brown runners I do like the seven risk tolerance you get maddie franko's got sixty two wins at the current need that is just incredible now I know flavian practice with another horse uh... you know another Chad Brown trainee and he definitely has his choice but I think it's seven really with the win over the course uh... you know a couple of weeks back he definitely is gonna pop and be strong in the stretch in the ninth race number seven risk tolerance eight to one again maddie right uh... alright uh... so this game tonight the uh... headliner games tonight
Georgia Tech in Colorado they played this game last year bolder Georgia Tech one late touchdown seven by seven covered the four point spread now Georgia Tech is six and a half seven at home tonight in Atlanta where's the action uh... yeah i tell you the truth it's great to a action a little more Colorado but we're pumping up the big now here at these is for six and a half m one fifteen uh... you know on Georgia Tech we had originally opened it I believe at seven so it came down a little the initial reaction with the sharps betting on Colorado but now uh... you have the accurate line Jimmy six and a half minus one fifteen at the resort at some of the uh... you know a little Colorado action here but this is a good matchup thank god we have something going on on the Thursday night as opposed to the surrounding games if you look at it plus uh... you know the Utah game a lot of paul a's on that but we open it at thirty four and a half with sitting at thirty four and a half i'm seeing some other shops get pumped up uh... you know thirty six in that range we haven't really gotten applied with that money but uh...
will see how it plays out a lot of paul a still on Utah uh... tied into the Colorado Georgia Tech game alright uh... what about the rest of the action is a five day open and weekend or labor day weekend for college football any others at the stick out uh... well definitely yeah we're starting to see a little u.s.c. action uh... you know it is what it is with what's sitting at twenty three right now at season on that game seeing a lot of different uh... line movement on that game some places have come down some places have come up where at twenty three way one of the highest in town so we are seeing some u.s.c. action but uh... a lot of these games are going to be decent paul a guys you could see it i mean uh... you just look at these points breads Ohio state fifty and a half uh... we talked about Georgia earlier south carolina sitting at thirty six and a half uh... you know just so many different big lines Iowa state uh... twenty and a half gonna get to thirty probably if not more uh... twenty nine and a half and minus one twenty at
season four to Georgia like we said forty six and a half uh... you know huge huge numbers here Penn State twenty four and a half taxes thirty and a half there another uh... that uh... definitely going to see a ton of paul a's and teasers or again twenty four and a half that's a more intriguing match up against boys he state that could be a little closer to the spread then anticipated but uh... you know these are games are all gonna be p's and paul a uh... you know whether it's uh... money line on some of them and then point spread on the others but uh... yes so many huge huge points breads and uh... we haven't seen that initial knee jerk reaction on some of these games just because you know you know like i said when you're laying forty one and a half forty two you basically got to score most every possession guys okay what about the one here bat ruse currently right now where you have the resorted summerland uh... ten and fifty and a half any of significant action either way uh... yeah well we open the game uh... at season four to eleven uh... you know
now it's at ten and a half so little claims in action but uh... great two way on this game this is gonna be another good match up thank god we have it at four thirty uh... you know specific time here at the resort at summerland will have that game fired up on the status greed definitely wanted better match ups but uh... good two way action initial reaction a little on clinton from the arts and what about loovo and all miss uh... sunday night six and a half and fifty five and a half yeah you know good two way action on that game as well uh... you know uh... one of the more intriguing match ups but nothing really to speak of as of yet way more handle on the ls u-climbs in game obviously and uh... you know maybe the rebels to bounce back after that tough loss against manfis we're seeing some uh... you know rebel action open the game at season sports one and a half in Hawaii now we're up to three so there's a lot of action on you and lv in this game to bounce back after the tough loss against manfis uh... traveling to a white you know is never an easy pass so uh... that's one of the games that
we have seen some action but that's because we're here in Las Vegas boys yet you know v um... with uh... they they let it have by seven but blew up scoring opportunity the first half then mefis roars back in wins the game outright and you say you see in some you know the action when they go to a white minus three yeah we open did at one and a half at season four and now it's minus three got you got you all right uh... anything else in future actually before we uh... before we go to break right to call out of people are watching the injury reports in the nf uh... nfl guys you see it's like a triage uh... you know of injuries and a play the road injuries it doesn't matter what the a lot of superstar power but uh... we're still seeing a lot of that action uh... despite the chase uh... possible injury we're seeing a lot of Cincinnati future action with the a lot of Baltimore raven maybe people are feeling it's the bill's year but not as much as last year uh... and on the other side definitely the rams arondonald and all that uh... you know happening stolen on the act still
waiting though for the necua situation to get panned out uh... you know will be suspended possibly i don't think so but uh... the rams have definitely been a focal team in the market and the futures here in Las Vegas and at the resort at summer following on on twitter at n-y bookie dwein or you doing some uh... given out horses uh... or maybe pick five or pick six ticket along the way of via twitter this past weekend for closing weekends through labor day for both saratokin delmar yeah without a doubt you know you'll be uh... make it selection and definitely putting them out there i've been doing it uh... progressively not as much as usual but the last week at saratokin delmar gotta give out some when is so definitely doing great stuff is always buddy what's up to you next week thank you man actually thanks shawley love you guys they had everybody in fabulous back room i'm really good to be don't forget a friend's ever leave windows and relief windows dot com for windows doors citing shutters and shades

i first update from the case uh... in downtown bad news opening arguments have just wrapped uh... according to uh... wd issues fletch a mackle and the first uh... witness on a stand i guess we're going to go witness uh... is the scc commissioner great sanking uh... who just went up so they uh... they give us some updates and allowing reporting from inside the courtroom while this is going on so we're going to get updates during the breaks that's where we are if you missed it at the beginning attorney general is mural is there jason williams is a district attorney in new warlands is has been retained by the scc he is representing them the commissioner obviously is on the stand right now uh... potential l issue players dayquan right and zavi and harris are there also uh... one at least one potentially two players i think uh... that are seeking to regain their eligibility at southern uh... are there the courtroom is you might expect is packed and
i think everybody in the college football world is waiting to see what what happens today and i'm not going to speculate about what uh... how this is going to all turn out but it was interesting yesterday that tom marz uh... who is the prominent attorney was on the train to the chambles case he's been involved in i don't know how many cases uh... involving eligibility and things like this seems to think that while anything can happen this case was very heavily affect any scc's favor in fact he said it's going to take the judge to pages to throw this out maybe hyperbola a little bit uh... but he seems to the for whatever his opinion is now you listen to tony clinton who is opt acting for the players he's got every bit that much confidence the other way and i'm not bright enough to uh... be able to tell you how to you know to predict how the court is going to rule today or what that's going to mean
for after that tomorrow scc rosters have to be set league and want these guys they've been pretty adamant about that we talked about it at nauseam so that's the update right now closing opening arguments are done grec sanki is on the stand last time an scc commissioner was on the on the on the witness stand test test if i can't get out of it you said they wait for this to come to conclusion i think people just want this to be over with i certainly if they came out it's later today and said you know what they ruled in favor of the league and in favor of the nc a and none of these guys get out to be like that's fine let's go i'm more than fine with that let's move on i'm more i know it's an unpopular opinion among the people that are promoting the class of twenty two i don't think any of those kids were bait and switched i think it's unfortunate timing for them if the nc a head put them eligible i would have been fine with that
but as they didn't i don't know that they can you know the term bait and switch mean used a lot i don't think it applies here i know i'm in a minority on that but the rule changed after they left and so you you want to go back and you want to get relief from that i understand why they're doing it i don't think that they honestly i don't think that they've got a case in my opinion i'm not the judge uh... so we'll see uh... we'll see what they say our number two straight ahead here walk on's where we are less than a mile from tiger stadium and a huge huge day on saturday for opening day ls u and clums and come by the original walk on's burbank and nickel sun live and lunch one of five espn baton Rouge live at lunch with a tennie from the original walk on's on burbank on one of four five espn baton Rouge make here walk on's live at lunch
very lively crowd here as we get towards uh... the weekend and a big big weekend here at walk on's for opening day first off we start off you know open the doors an hour earlier ten a.m.s the doors open on game day Saturday uh... at ten ten a.m. over here espn radio college game date uh... tour so we know about game days gonna be here that that that in the tv but also the radio uh... game day tour will be here they'll be broadcasting live from walk on three to six p.m. taking you right up to close to kickoff and in the uh... and then post post game trolleys favorite he likes no pants party a little bit more but pants party is his favorite let's just clarify that he does like pants party but no pants party is not opening up contrary to popular belief but we got live music post game celebration big tiger win Charlie over here walk on's after and three-day weekend they go go home go and open a party all night come on at walk on's for post game but
pants party i don't want you trying to push for that no pants again no no no no that's not me got me mixed up with somebody come on to Barrymore i'm gonna uh... i'm gonna take what i'm a quit doing i'm i'm going to quit saying this can't get any wilder i'm gonna i'm gonna eliminate that while they're at nauseating uh... take a pic yeah take a pic what while gregg sanky is on the stand in baton Rouge in this case includes a district attorney new Orleans and the attorney general of Louisiana the sec is filed lawsuit against ls u and specifically against lane kiffin suit alleges the defendants ways they delivered in coordinated campaign to recruit professional athletes to play football for ls u during the twenty six twenty seven season so now this isn't even about if they play or not now you're being sued for recruiting them i don't know what that means well well long term i don't know what that means
in a short term i can't remember even even during the craziest days of you know when they did crazy days at ls u would deal brown or i can't ever remember the league suing uh... so in that issue i don't really soon anybody really maybe do they officially sue alibaba in the beddie echo case or did i don't think they did i think it was just they they were disputing his eligibility one of the players is admitting that other teams contacted him also uh... i mean that's really doesn't make any done really make any sense what you say tamper no no he just had ls u was in other teams were contacting one right on right said i don't know if you they said specifically who they were but he said other teams he he all miss and i believe with south carolina yeah contacted him also so i don't understand how that would seem like that would in that case right there i mean it's uh... it's
not just it's got coach primes overturned to the state of georgia but they're starting quarterback july and louis zf i've starke uh... prospect out of the Georgia their plans tonight jimmy trying to steer it up on the on the field well he doesn't like this and i get it uh... i don't like to see their but this is it's time to pull up dude well i'm it's way past time to pull up what yes okay well but i'm talking about it but i was you yes yes yes but they did they haven't and they're not there they're fighting this is where the sort of the blind the blind of support of your new coach is like come on coach really i mean let's i'm not being on press conferences and you know what coaches uh... say publicly because you want to coach alive sick of microphone in front of his face alright and we know about the whether it's the secretive stuff in lack in injuries to whatever i mean uh... the the paranoia the coach speak whatever but
he did say why am i here because the brand and gonna miss you and our staff and in the support with the uh... the budget that we're gonna have we're gonna have great basically we should be able to put together hell of roster he's still full with these guys and what kind of impact of these guys gonna make they couldn't make a practice squad they could not make a practice squad how impactful or guys for your college team to come back there's some there's some guys who just pretty good college players that just are not cut out for the NFL i get that but really really i mean it's it's time to and it's a point distractions i know you live with distractions but and it's time for all issue to have a little sit down said look maybe we brought the c'mon man let's let's move on let's at at some point i don't uh... you know he he and he claims this week that um... they know that like well but i i saw leadership cancelation go get go get the the players alright and then trade as green snoggin about how great you know that the tight end is it's
stuff like it's just seems a little fishy is for selling it you try to oversell it and and for but they're doing it it's not always the right thing i'm all about be aggressive aggressive aggressive in your eye ain't no there no ethics in recruiting but do it some point does everybody really feel like that in your locker room which we've been blessed up that as out here in in the senate get ready for the game and you still fool around with these guys could make a practice what really i think that is a distraction at this point i would say that his pitch to the leadership council was akin to hearing one side of an argument accord case you hear from one settle all you but you don't know from the other i'm sure he brought to the hey can these guys help us win maybe uh... are these guys gonna come in and fit in maybe but i don't know that he sat there and said all but you know what if this goes sideways the league's gonna sue the school they're threatening the harshest penalties i've seen short of the sm u death penalty if and i don't know that they can enforce them
i don't know what's gonna come out of this court case today much less this court case that they just filed okay but i don't think that kiffin probably presented that to wit weeks and trade-as green and like hey look this is fine if he gets out there but if this goes bad the the downside of this is what i mean you're you're betting the farm on what upside what what a lot of people talk about it out so much pressure on kiffin so much pressure on kiffin we're like man it's just in coaches first game nobody is going to get get it is going to kill him with her you know if he doesn't make the playoff this year i mean it's just it's just different outside but this is the stuff that they're talking about because you mean it's and let's you know let's stick to the stick to what we know as far and you talked about it two days ago well sure it is green conveniently had something to say about the tight end today you know so but it is it's a light schedule even to collucci's point okay there's forty forty point spreads these games it's it's a for the most part to
garbage get this is part of the thirteen weeks we have left this is the worst okay so but they did say that they have more media slash celebrity requests for this game than ever yes okay maybe lack of competition but i mean it is by everybody's account the most attention is on the game some of this revolves in and i'm doing a show with the co-host of the pre and post game show on the flagship and we're talking about this because yeah and because that's that's that's that's that's BS bro you you 've got that's that's that's horse crap and kiffin done for a moment thinks he'll ever be suspended for half the season no because what they think he doesn't yeah he doesn't think is that you've got a court order right now you if at lsh is not going to knowingly break a rule that is in place that will give these sanctions to him what everybody wants to know is if you if you break the rule while
the court order is there all but the league is saying something else can the league in for sure that's what liz mirroles you know brief was about last night is that you got to be you can't serve both masters okay so who do you listen to you put the school in a position to listen to the court or listen to the league um... and i understand very well there's players at other schools is one of Kentucky's one of Missouri's one at texas that are in his boat there's forty some odd kids uh... in multiple sports that have sued but it looks like many camp does not mean train a camp right you know europeans if i'm but you know american professional basketball players are not so i mean you think these little got you these little marks at the market it just she's not and uh... i'll maintain it the ones that you know go get them on let's let's go let's go but when this they said the guidelines and you go to go through a court room and you go to force the commissioner to testify bro they might not get you now but there's going to come a time
when there's some subjectivity involved in some judge in the league office that ellis you go get the short into this on fifteen minutes ago to suit them you know that's the first salvo is certainly going to be the last you you've interacted with some administrators when you bring that up about future consequences yet for right now it's a little touchy on it is because for right now they're clinging to something that they don't know which is he's long as we're following the law they can't touch us the scc thinks very differently they think very differently they think you what they already private organization that you are a willing member of okay if you are willing member of it then you have to adhere to the rules well i know this for a fact too that ellis you as a member of the scc way before length if it got here and will be a member of the scc we hope way after he's gone and i think that was savor addlin with the whole expulsion stuff but it does give you an idea of just how pissed everybody else in the league is in not for nothing
but college football came together earlier this summer multiple leagues commission against one school because they were bound and determined brand and source be was not going to play college football that he had violated one of the most sacred rules that he had been on his own team and he was not going to play college football no matter what if they had to go to the supreme court they were going to get it and they seem equally in resolve that if it i'm sorry it had happened to be they want to go into Cleveland Brown's camp that you know tipped you was a strutted broke the camel's back but it was okay and it's a one-year deal it's one class it's one player and you're willing to risk everything over that i don't give a damn what the judge says it's time to move on source piece of good example to they would do when they can't say come together that's true uh... and then a failed who did not even do going to supplement a draft i mean i'm all for not backing down to a certain point and you have to decide if the no no no you know i've
i've pivoted i mean come on man and it's it's time to to do it there that is a distraction in a locker room i am sorry a self-imposed distraction you know they have coaches hate distractions well this one no no some of you can do anything about you know player gets hurt or something this one you did it to yourself we are brought to you by the tibito store the pier apart store also put in the rose and a lot poor tailgating supplies all that you can possibly as far away from the field trip there charlotte ok tell me what you feel trip a lot of whatever and nice little ride it's a little less than an hour from my house and love to go right with go over the water right before it you walk in they've got the grocery on one side and the hardware on the other side and i mean friendly always friendly hello how you doing you get there the lumberyard isn't a bad i didn't have to do any lumber this time but it's just uh... i just went down the house i got this i got couple of sprinklers i got the the
batter box you know where you can kind of do you you fry your fish or you you you you're you're shrimp and it just batters it keeps free keeps your hands are getting all gummy and nasty and so what is you doing that so trawly with i got a new wire brush i got some new charcoal on charcoal for the green egg that i got from the tibito store um... i don't know try a little bit of everything i mean i got i got um what was it i think i get even some window cleaner i got some i got some uh... some uh... all brand new in this yes yes i got i got some all purpose uh... kitchen cleaner as well i got did a little bit everything trawling it was just fun to have a big old basket full of stuff i got a few few ladles and uh... tongs and stuff like that you know for the grill so and besides all your all your uh... tailgating stuff there is a sale through labor day forty five percent off of a bunch of items uh... you know regular hardware items paint uh... items gardening items uh... everything on the website same day pickup is available in delivery available on
some of these items nine hundred st Patrick highway in tibito highway seventy in pier port and online the tibito store dot com live at the original walk on the live in lunch one or four five espn bad r uh... uh... uh... uh... uh... live at lunch with uh... and he from the original walk on the on burbank on one or four five espn bad news back here the original walk on the live at lunch again early uh... opening on saturday morning at ten a.m.s getting catch the back part of game day and then uh... start your tailgating here at walk on before l.s. shoe and clumson greksank is on the stand right now uh... downtown keep you up to date on the thing that gets there by the way that lawsuit uh... that uh... the scc is filed against the l.s. shoe is in alabama home court advantage is never uh... met
quite so much uh... what you got tonight i'm i'm kind of mixed i think i'm gonna take colorado uh... with with the uh... the six and a half i'd love to get it it's seven it's gonna be a very low volume for me uh... i want to watch the game and have a little uh... rooting interest but i can't tell you that i hellbent on one side that's all it's much as we think we know i mean and that's a part of it to is in three by a lot of people you know if the fan bases of what you know just what do they do every everybody it still is if they play uh... you know five thousand games in division one there'd be twenty five hundred to twenty five hundred winners twenty five hundred losers the fan base opinions don't match that zero sum right now okay there's always it's a little hope we hope we better than we've been we hope that it because you've been promoted but
the zero something it's an expensive roster i think it's supposed to be good i don't know i don't know it was tough coming up with a five pack that i feel really strong about uh... but tomorrow yes that's my point gigantic spread and who had first right now it's it's very tough even one game that we might be talking about your nebrega cali UCLA you got to return quarterbacks to first year coaches compelling but i don't know uh... one of the more interesting at least it's a balance match up into power for like the game tonight they're not going to be leaving the game and go into courtrooms are they they're not going to like take their cameras and go to a courtroom i mean you didn't have a balance spread but it that that t-c-u in north carolina game was a power for matchup is very bad i mean i was a yeah that was an even game it was yeah i mean it was so t-c-u could have easily one in north carolina so we'll see about what happens in california new cla but it's yes it's one of
my the ones i'm going to be watching with close but loo-mo when we don't know how the quarterback from a high estate display for loo-mo down you know it'll miss we don't know that Charlie white street we we we saw it's champ was played on unbelievable level but we you know all that's that's gonna be interesting to see how they you know maintain i think i think they'll be better this year then they'll be say three four years down the road yeah problem i mean i mean it's not just changeless it's a roster it's everything you're trying to hold on to it till they kind of get closer to what we go on to expect out of omnis or do they have the they the react like a no to name they know way that s o b is going to we're going to destroy our program by leaving us and leaving us in a playoff no we go give more than ever before and Notre Dame has and out freeman's way better recruiter also but their administrative support their facility are they both of us we've been building these facilities for thirty five years that's why you have it one
of a national championship of thirty eight years you know in south benn so you know how all missed response i think is going to be very interesting as well they're boosters i think they're in now initially but if they start to tail off a little bit i wonder if they'll sustain that support no no no boosters and administration quite as motivated as when they are scorned when it is whole roster ramp up really start for a ls you well i would under would went back to michigan that little fire under their ass and it was like okay wait a minute we're not letting that happen again that that that yes yes how do you how do you respond to adversity and uh... it's it's an old line but yes but i think the most most there's a team we come to town they go have six hundred people at the tailgate over here for the alumni associate climpson the iftay this man they are down the down they want i mean if there's a post this matchup it's the all-way of a pro-raster building and the sky a court today you know our coach you know i mean this is the new way you know i mean we we we didn't always like this new
but it is but you talk about you know this guy's in court we get sued this guy saying that's embarrassing and we say well that's more to the nc a was that kiffin too uh... they got me so i mean but you know is kiffin you know which which way wins out which what so i mean that is a poster challenge about these two coaches at these go first year this goal and here we are in court two days before the best matchup the most attractive matchup of the open it four weekend of college football in this guy's coming over we're just staying in my lane no pun intended so many there's so many new faces and you know everything i mean it's it's it's a big a lot of question marks on both side with his clemsons fan base what are they a booster coach what are they radical just going now your radicals is very instrumental in kind of reshaping this whole thing you know with the the iftay um what what i'm curious to see what blimpsons offense brought Chad Morris back kind of a odd would that be a desperation move
it's i mean he's Chad Morris it's a comfort it's a comfort move for sure he had a great run because he's had him right run and then he was on the decline they're getting on the decline right now he's had a great career actually he's done a lot of good things in different places but he's that he's probably at his lowest he's been in a while climpsons out there lowest they've been in a while and uh... i'll see if they would they do if i'm a climpson fans today i'll tell you what i am rooting for this to get his chaotic as possible this afternoon tomorrow whatever anything i slide in here under the radar and have their just their yes the right are even one percent i got a better chance to win this game i'm keeping my mile shut and i'm just coming here and trying to say okay you forgot about you you've talked about everything but us this week i want to try to slide in that's if i were a climpson fan that's what i do scheduled to and there they're projected to be favored in ten of their twelve games so they're not favored in this one i doubt they're going to be favored in
their home game against my army that's it that's it i mean uh... they they're still i mean they're still a year removed from a playoff team or year removed from a conference championship i had a they had a bad year last year they had a bad year seven and six well but they had the most players they've ever had drafted two first round picks and going seven and six without we talked about that this time last year i said well i don't see where all these guys are drafted but where they that poorly coached where they mean well mean they they they may have some measurables but can these guys really play well maybe they're not that good true home game i thought so i think both will lead this time last year i'm like wait a minute they gave up more yards per carry then and then since the seventies but they tell me how good their front seven is because they're going to be drafted well i mean wait a something doesn't i said this this time last year in Charlie could
you did and wouldn't it be something of the team they've got two kind of consensus first team all conference players nothing close to the draft prospects of the head of year ago and they ended up they may end up with a much better record clu-knick clu-knicks the jets back up quarterback he i don't know with that i don't know if that's saying much but i'm just saying you know that first one is got led league and interceptions last year genius man no clu-knick my play you i agree with you on that you know what was come out of jets camp is that they blame so much of that on the rate is offensive line the rate is personnel and i said you know genos kind of been a a breath of fresh air in jets camp will see the jets at least have some offensive weapons would breeze hall and uh he's at the end of his career Wilson uh yeah absolutely i mean i mean you he got a new coach he's a bridge quarterback to whoever is next but at least they feel like he's competent for you know what he's uh what he's doing there we're here at the original walk-on's
burbank in nickelsons opening up at 10 a.m. on saturday morning come on over here you're less than a mile away from tiger stadium you know also our friends over at the aesthetic medicine and anti-agent clinics in Louisiana on blue bonnet between Perkins Road and Highland Road so uh the hormone replacement therapy if you're something you know for our uh for our uh you know guys getting old it doesn't replenish it doesn't produce our bodies don't reproduce everything that they used to but you're trying to improve your sleep quality enhance wound healing improve your skin your hair fat reduction increased energy and endurance muscle mass and strength and also enhanced uh sexual function as well yes indeed the anti-agent clinics of Louisiana met in over a blue bonnet so they've wanted blue bonnet also in Lafayette and i've been doing hormone replacement therapy it helps me kind of keep my weight in check and keeps my energy going when we got to
talk about court cases all day go buy and check them out and also ask about our different membership plans that we have it's called the mince vitality membership program for different levels so find the one that suits you the best at the aesthetic medicine and anti-agent clinics of Louisiana on blue bonnet between Perkins and Highland live with the original walk-on's live and lunch one four five ESPN baddener live at lunch with Atenhane from the original walk-ons on Burbank on 104 five ESPN baddener Rouge you know we got the whole band back together so Jimmy Ott Charlie Hanna-Gryff Mike Delicano now Matt Newman so we you know we're good to see Matt open uh a visa in Las Vegas this past weekend Matt how you doing ready for low college football okay well you know it's football season when you hear Jimmy Ott read promos for restaurants and hear that jazzy thing music under show yes indeed
baby or well we we had been using court court TV you know the bumpers coming in and out so you know love we can we just talk about the game the people's court yes Charlie Wapner you went to Palo Alto boy right out the shoe get a get a a bad beat or fortunate cover I mean right a little scoop and score would it let's just over a minute to go I tell you what um nothing like jump right into college football season with a ridiculous result on the side in the total and the Hawaii Stanford game right and the Jimmy you and I had Stanford money line I was very happy I did not take a Hawaii in the point so I know a lot of people did those 23-7 early in the fourth quarter and I'm sitting there in the stadium and you can see the this is a Hawaii team on the field was dead the silent sidelines no energy the fans were dead you you never could have
predicted Hawaii's gonna make come back at that point and of course before you know it it's 27-23 Hawaii just like that and Stanford gets the a sac strip bubble return for touchdown wins again 37-27 just your routine winning cover with 34 points scored in the fourth quarter right 30 in the whole game up to that point 34 in the fourth quarter I did bet the under so lost that but it was a bizarre way to get the college football season all right let's get to the games and hopefully that you made a bad beat like that down the road all right let's uh yeah we were we were watching that uh uh uh I had Stanford money line but I had them into points bread as well and so we uh we dodged uh we dodged that bullet along with some dog poop uh at the win that day so anyway let's go let's go the USC USC world up a 35-3 lead pulled a lot of their starters the last three and a half minutes and fourth quarter dominated by the Spartans to backdoor that one easy
went over also now here comes Fresno State with USC with a game under their belt USC is around 22 Matt yeah by the way I was gonna ask Hany and um Mike uh do you you know who is nicknamed big dumper you guys know make a what yeah uh the the catcher from uh Cal Raleigh Cal Raleigh from us yeah it'll actually be uh the Kazarian dog uh our Arthur Arthur Raleigh he is a bulldog he was a one who was in the wind sports book last week I've already filled him in so yeah that's a great story you know I'm not gonna downgrade USC for what happened I watched first three quarters right before I left for the Hawaii Stanford game and I thought USC was what uh about what you expected uh pretty high powered offensively but you know they pulled out most of the
starters after the third quarter and uh they were playing a they got the number one incoming freshman class in the country and they won the play a bunch of those guys in the fourth quarter and obviously Luke Weber who was a former Hawaii backup quarterback who played well for Hawaii last year San Jose quarterback uh part of the reason I bet over the total neck games I thought San Jose gets some garbage points late neck game not that many obviously uh I think they had what 23 points in the fourth quarter yeah it was in a went from a 35 to three game so I mean that's gonna happen sometimes you pull your starters out and uh stay in as they get's often it's going at the fourth but I'll tell you what's interesting about this Fresno game there's a up and high on this Fresno team the entire off season and I bet Fresno over six and a half wins uh to win the packed 12 plus 650 and also um I actually last night bet Fresno to make the college football playoff quarter finals how about this bet Fresno to make their college football
playoff is 20 to one odds and to make your quarter final ground was 220 to one odds so I take the 220 to one and Fresno you got a big offense line bigger than USC's offense line 6 6 6 6 5 6 3 6 4 6 5 and they get four 300 plus powders it's a massive offense line and you know Matt Ants is the coach of Fresno he's former North Dakota state coach he builds a football team on the offensive and defense lines and he's got two of the best running backs on the West Coast yeah what makes me a little bit nervous about this place he's got a quarterback he's a veteran but he's make his first career started howl cm on Friday night so it's never a great thing jaden mandal he's gonna make his first start a quarterback but he's wanting camp and I gotta have faith in that coaching staff that he can get the job done if they pick him to be the starter Fresno is very good on the defensive line and a linebacker their weakness might be in the second area so USC's
get speed and playmakers they can probably exploit that weakness but I think just gonna be a competitive game and uh I took I was hoping to get you know somebody 24 and a half or 25 like this the line was the summer but I took 22 and a half with Fresno and watch out for this Fresno team I think this could be one of the better teams on the West Coast 22 and a half is what it currently is here at a local shops at the Queen and ballies again don't forget football Sunday next Sunday with St. Sir opener as well 10 a.m. to noon right into the NFL kickoffs that's got to be at least downtown that's gonna be the start of the day that Fresno states bigger than USC up front Fresno never figured so that games tomorrow night eight o'clock our time another one is gonna be played at eight o'clock tomorrow night six o'clock your time Matt does Stanford get a game under their belt Miami comes a town laying 24 and a half I decided to reduce the risk of volatility on this play and I took Stanford plus 24 and a half
but I it's like a half unit play and I better half unit over the total of 47 and a half just in case Miami runs them out and it's a blowout and the hurricane's just too fast maybe too athletic and too fast for a Stanford so Davis Warren the transfer transfer quarterback out of the big 10 never that impressive but I thought he looked pretty good last week against the white a lot of that had to do with white defense blind getting no pressure on the quarterback whatsoever but Mike of Ford is a talent of running back I knew that coming into the season he had 99 yards on the crowd against the white I thought Stanford showed defensively it was decent and sometimes having a game under your belt can help it's always tricky when teams would go out to the west coast especially when you're playing the first game of the season and Darry and Metson a bunch of new players or you know haven't yet meshed on that Miami offense so I take it a bit of a chance here with Stanford I know a lot of people think this is gonna be a blowout race could be 48 or something but
if it is I took the points to Stanford but I also played this over the total. Great Darry Metson making a return back to California where he grew up so Stanford plus 24 and a half there staying in the state of the state and in the Bay Area UCLA and Cal competitive power four matchup here UCLA both teams starting quarterbacks coming back both teams with new coaches both teams programs a little bit of optimism brewing with them right now don't need an AD that's overrated but anyway UCLA wanted a half at Cal. I give the UCLA coaching staff a bit of an ad you obviously they've been around the college game a little bit longer and I'm pretty optimistic what's gonna happen with UCLA just these Maniko I am a Leyva I don't even know if I pronounced that last name right vertical now 47 different ways but he's got Derek Carr is quarterback coach now and he's got plenty of ability I just think he needs the coaching staff to bring it out of him
and we'll see if that happens here with UCLA but I really like what's going on with the Bruins I played them over the win total five and a half also for six and a half this summer with Tau Tau Tau the boy who's a former Oregon coordinator he's been talking big and that concerns me a little bit because typically new coaches don't come in talking full of confidence like he is but he says he's got a top 25 team this season we know he's got to really get the young quarterback and draw the Ave Secretary of the Pele who was a kid from Hawaii who really burst on the scene last year and played well I just a little bit skeptical cows top running back transferred out they lost a bunch of players I think UCLA set up a little bit better here early in the season I don't love this play but I did play UCLA minus one and a half and a favorite flipped in the skin. Mikey your brother former all pack up packed in my linebacker from UCLA yeah look good enthusiasm with the new I yeah they they feel like Matt this is the first year they've had numbers
you know the coach came from James Madison they brought some people and they they really haven't with the transport portal yet they've really been losing more than they've been bringing in and so this guy did a good job of bringing in some numbers a lot of optimism Cal Cal Berkeley has a lot of optimism because their president is making a strong effort to build up football again there they have Ron Revere as their general manager and I believe this game might even be close to a sellout so this should be a pretty competitive matchup and both teams first time in a while have some pretty pretty high goals for the first time. Charlie uh uh uh uh uh uh Nico's name is miss pronounce a bunch of different ways but Charlie has perfected the pronunciation of the Cal quarterback Charlie Javan Keaui Sangapoola Telli. There you go where else can you get that Matt so anyway you're gonna do what a kid and it beats a court case update from downtown so anyway you and LV and Hawaii late Saturday night nine o'clock our time and here's your boys now
you know Hawaii so you're in a payroll over there so against your local team you know you and LV high winds forecasted for this match up late Saturday night. Yeah it's interesting too. Hey Bob Chesney's a new coach at UCLA from James Madison I liked him a lot I think that was great hired. The last time I saw Cal was in the Hawaii Bowl and Chris McEve and that was a wild game that Hawaii came back to win 35-31 F could be in down 21 zipped in the first half. I was just watching the weather forecast for south of Hawaii and the subculture out there there's a category four or five on hurricane brewing and it looks like it's gonna take a north turn it's just good it's not gonna hit a lot who but it's gonna be in that region so man it looks like Saturday night could be windy and rainy for this game now the total open 58 and a half I should have bet that under right away because the new about the weather situation actually bet it under 56 and a half you can probably get off that bet if the weather clears up and it looks like it's not gonna
be that bad Saturday night and how little but as for now I mean if it's windy and rainy it's gonna be primarily a running game and that's gonna benefit you and LV but I did play under 56 and a half and I'm gonna wait to see what the weather looks like before I bet the side but I mean the trends are really strong Timmy Chang and the warriors are so much better at home than they are away from home and uh you know the UNLV team if you got I'm sure you guys watch the Memphis UNLV game Friday night and make sure reviews on that it's not Jackson Arnold played well for about three quarters but again he holds onto the ball way too long the UNLV offensive spine broke down of jailbreak for some reason they didn't use any screens or quick hitters or hit the tight end across the middle of just seven steps drop back after another sack sack sack that UNLV's defense I thought I had some breakdown so I'm not real high on either one of these teams tell you the truth you want to be your Hawaii right now I think that both we're probably overrated in the preseason but uh oh
under the total of 56 and a half probably the way to look right now and keep an eye on the weather forecast yeah that was one of my favorite bowl bicks last week last year Hawaii and so Chris Maseve some of the high school kids got a little extra in their handshake thank you mr. Jimmy no problem kids so that was a nice comeback last last year as well Louisville and Ole Miss Brahms is good as a as a uh an underdog he's bringing in his quarterback from Ohio state who think about Jackson Arnold trusting his legs a little bit more with his arm sort of similar scouting report from this Ohio state transfer as far as Ole Miss Hagway class of 2022 class of 2021 turn to a champ was he got his eligibility straight and he is back and he was damn good last year so Ole Miss lay in six and a half seven neutral site in Nashville yeah I'm curious if you're going to bet the total in this game it looks like it could be a shootout the one question I have about Louisville and again this team I like a lot I bet Louisville over the win total when the ACC a plus eight fifty uh took Louisville plus seven in this game here
and uh Jeff Brahms if you go back his last seven years uh Purdue and Louisville if he's a dog of seven or more eleven and four APS and uh the last six times or the last nine times and I always won six times outright I have I've always felt Brahms uh one of the best underdog coaches it's a favorite I don't like him so much but as a dog uh he should be dangerous here especially against Pete Golding who's gonna be the first time I have coach I get Brahms the edge and prep for a game like this but Ole Miss looks awfully explosive offensively and it's obvious with chambles and koan lacey and I don't not sure how many stops Louisville is gonna come up with I do have some questions about defense but Isaac Brown's one of the best running backs at Cowell's football and then Lincoln Teen holds to transfer quarterback from Ohio State to dual threat and you think Brahms gonna work probably wonders with this kid so this is a great matchup actually on Sunday and I think the Cardinals should be dangerous as dogs here's took seven.
Notre Dame 21 over Wisconsin another neutral site the Sunday night head up on TV against Louisville and Ole Miss uh Lambo feeling they do have a cool setup man we were there for the Wisconsin LSU game it is 50-50 in airs every I mean it is split right down the middle it's pretty cool uh seen at Lambo Notre Dame a lot of expectations and also I have to get snubbed for the playoff last year maybe a little extra motivation in the offseason laying 21 against Wisconsin you know that's an interesting angle to this game too because we had Paul Stone on our show a few nights ago and Paul said I'm taking 21 with Wisconsin I think this number is a little bit too high and you know I think the number is a little bit too high too but at the same time if Notre Dame is trying to you know shoot for style points early in the season they feel like they get a blow teams out and they got a lot to prove then you got to be careful about this I do think the badgers have to pick up great a quarterback this season and it should be more competitive I'm
I'm more on the side of Paul Stone here I want to take 21 but I also understand the thinking that Notre Dame might try to run it up they don't have a lot of opportunities on that schedule to make statements right and they've got to make statements in games like this so I have not bad this yet did you play this and did you play the Louisville Ole Miss Total? No I'm gonna play Louisville I'm undecided on Notre Dame in Wisconsin but I'm sorry I'm told so but I just think that Notre Dame might have a little something extra man they just kind of a little like you said some style points and things like that and maybe you know Wisconsin Transforming Air Offensive that has backfired big time so they want to modernize it well it's not what you do best Matt we appreciate it pretty well against the break man good luck to you this week we're looking forward to having you on weekly with the college football picks pick okay you bet thanks all right Charlie live at lunch live at the original wallconz where we open up an hour early 10 a.m. for game day this Saturday live at lunch at the original walk on to 104 five ESPN bad news
live at lunch with Odin Haney from the original walk on's on Burbank on 104 five ESPN bad news okay coming down the stretch here at the original walk on this is the latest and it's really not anything new but if you just coming in now and saying what's going on with the case they started 11 o'clock this morning the opening arguments were made roughly in the first hour by both sides the attorney general who filed a brief last night this mural is was in the courtroom this morning as was Greg Sankie who as far as I know is still on the stand he went on there right after noon and they're not allowing reports from inside the courtroom so the reports are coming during the break so that's essentially what we've got new Orleans district attorney Jason Williams acting for the southeastern conference among those in attendance uh dayquan right and zavian Harris to Ole Miss transfers that are kind of at the heart of this as well as at least one or two other players that
are seeking eligibility somewhere else um and that's where we're at in between uh the end of opening arguments and Greg Sankie taking the stand and I don't think the timing was any uh any coincidence the SEC has filed suit in Alabama against LSU and Lane Kiffin for deliberately recruiting professional players to college sports and that's where we are honey'll have more on it metal have more on it if we find out anything uh we'll let you know that's kind of where we're at right I got early lock it a week yeah uh dixon's on tomorrow right 10 10 11 football Friday I first one of the season uh uh don't let me down dixon you talking football tomorrow not court room I know I know I know my boy dixon to talk football tomorrow right that's that's generally the format football Friday right it comes on the tux football yeah it is football season right it is
football season it is football Friday what are you doing and you're putting in post game show Saturday don't you do that yeah yeah I'm yeah what are you talking he'll do a little football huh little football or you mix it up that balance you just keep you maintain your balance as of right now I'm doing an open a close in 14 school board segments I'm kidding um we actually have a interview with Verge Osbury um so you know that uh to talk about court I hope well I hope it's not dated uh by that time uh with what what could happen this is um this is what people are watching right now it's a shame that it's come to this 48 hours to kick off or whatever but it is what about what about one of our favorite uh Nick Saban quotes time to move on it's time to move on yeah well tell tell the principals because none of them uh think that it is you want you want to what's that you want to tell about you laughing no I'm saying how do we'll wait yeah we'll
wait just walked in yeah he's he's not he can confirm he's not in the courtroom no he's not there we know that he's he's putting together a roster he's entertaining people he's my money's only takes a sliders he gets a sliders saturday was a sliders here saturday was he does he did him like they're going out of style saturday morning 10 a.m uh live music after the game yeah the doors open to 10 a.m. over here and then uh after the game it's pants party and not no pants party so not to be confused pants party live entertainment we're gonna have a big I mean people I think people gonna be excited about the football game just Saturday night have a great afternoon everybody say it's only two for hundred one four five ESPN baton Rouge
