Lufthansa Celebrates 40 Years at Birmingham Airport

On April 1, Lou Tonsa just marked 40 years flying out of Birmingham Airport.

It all kicked off on April 1, 1986, with their first flight to Frankfurt on a Boeing 737 running 13 services.

A week back then, over the decades, they've grown to link Birmingham directly to Frankfurt, Munich and Dusseldorf.

Today, they run daily flights to Frankfurt and Munich, hauling nearly 12 million passengers total to those German hubs and beyond.

Birmingham Airport's CEO, Nick Barton, called it a huge milestone, highlighting four decades of solid partnership and reliable connections for folks, heading point to point or onward long haul.

Lou Tonsa station manager, Kate Tranter, echoed that pride, saying they've linked the Midlands to the world with top-notch service thanks to tight.

Teamwork with the airport.

This bash lines up perfectly with Lou Tonsa's own 100th birthday this week.

They even rode out of fresh, anniversary, liveried Airbus A320 Neo.
