Today was a, you know, like, you just got to sometimes you just find it difficult to behave like an acceptable human being in society. Today was one of those days. Hey, what are we going to be talking about? Ah yes, we will be talking about a chat GPT mini that came out. Have you guys checked it out? Has anybody checked it out? Hmm. Himahal. How's it going?
All right. Should we just jump into it? You scared the heck out of me? Open this statement for us. I don't know. I heard someone talking there. True. I've been told I have groupy vibes. People always tell me I look like what's that scary girl from the boys? I don't know how that makes me feel. I try to take a look at compliment, but I don't think it's supposed to be a compliment. Especially when I have my hair down. Okay, let's jump into things. Okay, so today we're going to be talking about chat GPT mini. Sorry, not your chat GPT40 mini. Let's actually take a look first at their announcement video. Oh my god. You see, like today is just very difficult to be human.
They're blog posts about launching GPT40 mini. Right. So apparently cost-efficient small models are in Vogue these days because a bunch of other companies are also coming up with many versions of things, which is kind of cool. So cheaper. Can't complain about that cheaper and faster. So the whole point of GPT40 mini, the functionality of it, it's supposed to be pretty decent. It's supposed to be pretty similar to GPT40. Maybe a little bit different, but it's supposed to be outperforming GPT4 for sure. And it still scores 82% on a MMLU. The point is that because cheaper and it's faster, we would be able to build more applications with this. So this is kind of a really exciting thing from a developer perspective. Blah blah blah. Okay, low cost and latency.
Oh yeah. And then it also allows applications that chain or repairize multiple model calls. So you're calling multiple APIs at the same time. You're doing a bunch of things at the same time and passing a large volume of context to the model. So it's just a lot faster. Customers were in track with customers through fast real-time text responses. For example, customers support chatbots. Anyway, I'm also currently working on a video where I'm going to be doing more AI projects that people can work on using different models and different new technologies. Well, when I was, I had already started working on it before GPT40 mini came out. So I figured I should probably incorporate that as well. And then I'll be like fully testing out the capabilities when I'm building through this. So if you have any recommendations for things that you'll like to see being built, some project ideas, please leave them in the chat. Yeah, so these claims I have not verified them yet, but I will shortly when I'm building up the projects.
Yeah, sounds really cool. So it has support for text image, a video in audio, an audio, an input and an output coming in the future. So similar to GPT40. I did notice just calling this out before I forget. GPT40 mini is not able to make pictures. It's only able to analyze pictures and text and stuff. Yeah, so context window is 128,000 tokens, which is a sports of the 16K output tokens per request. It lies behind like other models like cloud, but pretty standard and has a knowledge up to October 2023. I actually want to test out if it has search abilities. I actually don't know about that. So we're going to test that out as well. Thanks to the improved tokenizer show GPD4O, Hannley non-English text is now even more cost effective. So we will also test that part out. Okay, so it's definitely better than GPT3.0 turbo. So I think they're actually deprecating GPT3.0 turbo now in favor of GPT40 mini. And this
is also free, by the way. Okay, so yeah, reasoning task, math encoding, proficiency and multimodal reasoning. So it looks like it can buy comparison, at least just by looking at it. It does pretty well. It's pretty on par with the models that are currently there. And then in comparison, the GPT4O as well, it does pretty well in terms of keeping up. It's like slightly worse at most things, but it's still pretty good. Okay, let's see if anybody has any comments. First, I'm hearing of it. Yep, you did. It didn't come out. It came out like a couple days ago, so it has not been that long since it came out. Never checked out mini yet. I do hope like because of the mini is out, if you guys have a free version, they've been gating access for GPT4O. So I wonder if this is going to take the load off more. So if you're like a free user, you'll be able to
get more use out of it. So I hope that is the case. I think you, TexK, you're very unique and cool. What do you think you? Can regular GPT4O make images? Yes, it can make pictures. It technically can do like audio and video as well. The interface is just not available. So you have to do it through the API. GPT4O is the largest available for free tier users. Yep, it's still available. I think, yeah, but then I think if there's two of them available, maybe you can switch between them. So in case you hit the threshold for GPT4O, um, big model. Hopefully. Okay, so that's like get through this. I mean, these are testing things out. Oh yeah, so obligatory safety stuff is like, oh yeah, safety, very important blah, blah, blah, blah. Yeah, it's pretty obligatory. Big tech safety stuff saying that they're filtering out hate speech adult content.
So it's that primarily aggregate personal information and spam. Um, yeah, so it would be testing on some of these things as well. Um, what else, what else, what else? Okay, yeah, so it's just basically a lot cheaper and faster. That is pretty much it, I would say. So with this model being released, we're the way that, um, the way that things are heading, it just seems like people are, they're thinking about how to enable developers to build better AI products, which I think is really cool. Um, along with like, in video, we have their SDKs and stuff and other companies with their SDKs. I really think this is going to enable a lot of developers to build really cool applications, like, and removing lag time, removing cost problems. So anybody who is still interested in going into this field by building AI products, either as a freelancer, as your job, I still think there's so
much opportunity. It's like literally happening before eyes. This is like drop shipping when it first happened, but like times 10 were more like the internet. Like, um, so I think, uh, yeah, like without going too much into that, like, is there going to, is there a bubble? I also do think there is a bubble. But from the bubble for the people who took advantage of that, and then, um, I think there's a lot that can be done. And from eventually when the bubble does pop and then stuff did came up, Riley, the internet did become a thing. So this is absolutely like real technology that is coming up right now. Anyways, I can go into more detail about how I think between freelancing versus doing a startup. I have like a lot of thoughts about that. But I'm really like not talking about it right now. And let's go play around with things. All right. So, um, the first thing that I want to actually try out is just see if it has like the norm. I'll show you what I mean when it doesn't have the functionality in order to make images. So we have gbd4o right now. Excuse me. A normal gpd4o. So we'll
leave the system prompt, like not do anything here and just say something like generate an image of pineapple. Should be able to do that. Oh shit. Just keep... All right. I think we actually need to use the interface itself. My bad. So I should be able to do it here. Okay. Generate an image of a pineapple. Oh shit. Yeah. This model doesn't support images. Yeah. So you can do stuff like gp chat gpd4o, but gpd4o mini does not support creating images. Although you can analyze stuff instead. So open up a new chat, I think. Yeah. So that's also like another weird thing about their UI. I don't know if it's intentional or not. So usually when you have like gpd4o, there's like that little
thing where you can, you know, like look at images and stuff. Like you can add stuff. Like connect to Google Drive, connect to Microsoft OneDrive, upload from Qtputer. But if you toggle it to gpd4o mini, it doesn't have that. So you can't like show it images, which is why you have to do it from the playground. So if you do do the playground, it does allow you to like upload images and stuff. Okay. So the first test I wanted to do is about potatoes. Yes, potatoes. So that's totally gpd4o. How many potatoes? How many potatoes are in this image? And as you can see, there are three whole potatoes and it's like for the fourth potatoes cut up. Okay. So there are four potatoes in this image. And we'll compare that to gpd4o normal.
How many potatoes are in this image? There are four whole potatoes and two potatoes sizes visible in the image. Interesting. Wow. I guess gpd4o mini does better than gpd4o here. Yeah, no. Well, interesting. Well, it seems to be more descriptive than gpd4o mini. So I guess that's a good start. What's the point of mini? Good question. Lookbook. Mini is it's more lightweight and it's faster. So it's something that is just going to cost a lot less. I think the biggest difference is that if you are a developer and you're trying to develop applications, this is really cool. Yeah, this is like a really cool development. So you're going to be able to do things that like chatbots that have more quick reaction times and then you're able to chain them together to things. There's parallel processing that you can do like multiple APL calls at the same time. Yeah. So it just on a

comparison of profits. So let's actually look at the chart ourselves here. It's showing like the different cities that are here and then the amount of profit that each city generates. Yeah, and then each city generates and then it also shows like the percentage of the total cumulative amount. So it does like cumulative over here. So that's what the chart is saying. Outlets profit analysis. So bars and values each bar represents the profit for a specific city with Dallas having the highest profit at 14.4 followed by Philadelphia Austin, the lowest profit is from Houston. That is double check. That is correct. Along the profit bar line graph shows the cumulative percent of total profits from all outlets. So you have the cumulative percentage that's being shown. Overall, trying to visualize shows that a few outlets Dallas, Philadelphia, and Austin significantly outpace others in terms of profit while the remaining outlets contribute
less. So let's see if that is the case. It says Dallas, Philadelphia, and Austin. Okay, so Dallas, Philadelphia, and Austin, okay, that is correct. It's ranked like this. Okay. So this is a pretty good description from GPD40 mini. It has all the things. So let's compare that to GPD40, other GPD40. Okay, so Prado Char visualizes profit data from various outlets, the following key elements are present in the chart horizontal bars. Pretty similar. So this is also correct. So I guess the difference here again is I think GPD40, the bigger model is just a bit more descriptive. When it says like, oh, it's like listing it out like Dallas, Philadelphia, Austin, blah, blah, blah, and the cumulative percentage line. So it just like gives a bit more here. Although I want to say like the summary here from GPD40 mini, I think this is actually more informative. What do you guys think?

I think it really is just like GPD40 but like slightly less descriptive. I think like compared to cloud just on the text stuff like as a large language model, cloud is still better. Just like cloud is better than GPD40 but the multimodality functions is what keeps me still married to open AI as opposed to cloud because that part just matters a lot to me. And on the API side, I haven't tried GPD40 many years. So I'm really curious what kind of,
how it would change things if we're using it through to API. I actually want to see like, do you guys have any comments for Waldo things that we can build? Like, um, GPD for a give you a reason, which is the fact that you can't pinpoint specific individuals, but GPD for many is just like, I can't do it. Yeah. Okay, as expected. Um, the thing is like, I did do this last time and GPD for was able to point out Waldo, but I mean, like, it pointed out a character instead of was Waldo, except it wasn't Waldo. So I guess this time around
with this doesn't work. All right, anyways, um, let's move on to the next thing. Oh, yeah, so I want to check search. So just using the normal interface, I hear you can do stuff like, um, search, what are the most popular enemies in 2024? Uh, yeah, so you can do that. Demon's liver, casual number eight bleach. Don't hate me. I just don't understand why people are into this one. Not really into that one. Oh, it makes sense. Okay, so if you do it for a GPD for a row, oh, yeah, this model doesn't support tools. So I guess it also doesn't support using tools. Okay, well, we know that now. So we can't generate images and it doesn't support tools. So those are some of the limitations right now. All right, next up for detest. So we're going to do like a
creativity test. So charting with GPD for oh, mini, generate a novel connection between two seemingly random things, a potato and a lamp. Like really into potatoes today. Um, okay, and then we'll do it here as well. All right. This is annoying. How do I make this go away? I collapsed. Okay, whatever, in a small quirky, oh, the luminescent potato in a small quirky town known for its outlandish inventions and a centric inventor named Alara decided to bridge the gap between the mundane and the magical one day while rummaging through her cluttered workshop, she stumbled upon two seemingly unrelated items, a humble potato and an old dusty lamp. This is a very big issue for a lot. 9.11 is not bigger than 9.9. In fact, 9.11 is less than 9.9. Very good job. Okay, what about GPT-40?

So this is kind of like an assumption that GPT-40 mini is having right now because what if I was not, it's like that assumption is that there's only one other sibling, which is the other sister, but we didn't talk about other things like having another brother, for example. I wonder if it's able to figure this out that you can also have a brother while still having only one sister. They're raising your sister's only sister and Pisa. She has just one sister. In this case, the sister would be you. There were more than one sister, phasing would be different. What if there are other ways in which you can have only a sister?
Have only one sister? Well, I guess you can have only one sister. That is not me. You're right. If there are scenarios where someone could have one sister who isn't you, for example, if you have a brother and your sister has another sister from a different parent with a step family, that could create different family structures. similar to how the way that our brains work when we get older. So when you're young, you get a lot of newer connections that are being made and then at some point, there's something called pruning that happens in which you're removing connections. Yeah, so that pruning process, that could be very similar to what this is happening when you take a smaller model. You're like removing things that are not necessary, like preventing overshitting essentially. Fascinating. Interesting. Okay. All right. This one, don't judge me. It performs kind of like in summary, I would say that I think it actually does really well and these smaller models, they may be something that we could be looking forward to more in the future. The bigger model does. So that's really interesting. I think it's able to do everything that GPD 4.0 can do. Yeah, see what applications you guys have for building stuff. Any game with AI code is a process for as code not supposed to work. That is fair. We're building games in general. As smarter and knowing that you're tricking it, try Dan hack on it. Okay, I will look into that. I use AI for Unity now as convenience scripts are short and specific. It does a good job. I think that's true. If you break it, if you break things down, generally speaking, it does do better. So I was kind of being a little bit unfair when you just directly ask it to do something. Maybe a chess game with difficulty, budget tracking, I tried Rust. It's amazing. I finally got the GPD 3 to answer the dog poop. Got it. So the key is to just go into Alan's GPD 3, GPD 2 until it answered dog poop question. There's chat ball like chat, GPT and mainline chat.
There is. There is. GPD 4 is wicked fast and models like this will be running locally on phone soon. True. Similar to how the pixel runs Gemini Mini now. I can see that. I think Apple did a deal with GPD with with OpenAI, right? So I can see that happening. It performs well, I can see like them having their own model. Well, actually, that's interesting because Apple does have their own model. So they only tap into OpenAI when they can't answer any questions. So I wonder what it will do. Microsoft doesn't have hardware stuff, right? Yeah. I can see OpenAI doing some things with other companies that do phone stuff and potentially being like the supplier of the AI. I would like you to do a project and how to leverage GPT model and real life data to medical assistant data that can be processed offline within a search career or given data.
Interesting. That is going to be that would be like a pretty thorough like that's that would be like a something that would be a lot of work. But we can try building a prototype based upon those parameters. Health data needs to be an open source model and then we need to. Okay, interesting. All right. Thank you for the suggestion.
